I've been wanting to get here since following its opening on Instagram. Unfortunately, I and my party of 3 were all disappointed. I'll start with the positive. The service was great. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Second, the atmosphere is so cute and fun. It has a young, hip, and modern feel while still being very kid-friendly...they even give parties with kids a basket with little toys to keep them occupied. While these things were great, the food simply put was not good. The burgers have an extremely strong liquid smoke (or lighter fluid) taste that gives the burger a fake taste and overpowers all the other enjoyable burger flavors. In addition to the bad taste, it's almost like the liquid smoke is pouring out of the burger which makes the bun wet and soggy and your hands extremely messy. I could see the liquid pouring out of the burger in my tray. The fries are average. They're nothing special, but not bad. We also ordered the whole chicken. When it came out we were quite excited due to its crunchy appearance. While the chicken was extremely crunchy, it had zero flavors. My husband had the chicken sandwich, which wasn't on the menu, but we knew to ask about it since we'd seen it on Instagram. He said it was good. Our chocolate milkshakes were good. Other than the atmosphere and customer service, I'd have no reason to return here, which is unfortunate, because I was hoping to love it. Food is also WAY overpriced! read more

I went on a Thursday evening after a friend suggested it. We didn't wait long to get our table and the first thing I noticed was how cute and chic the decor was. Very bright and almost gives you a 50s type vibe. Drinks were good, strong for sure! Whoever the bartender is, I appreciate your heavy hand lol Food wise, it was okay. The Mac and cheese definitely needs some more seasoning, it was somewhat bland. The smash burger was good, I did enjoy that. I wanted to try one of their non-dairy boozy shakes but to my disappointment they only offer one flavor which doesn't make much sense if the ingredients are already being offered for the other shakes. Overall, I liked the atmosphere and all but I may wait for a bit till I go again. read more

I found this place on instagram. I can't believe I didn't know about it sooner. A group of friends and I came here on a saturday. The restaurant is on the corner and across from it they have a private lot. We all parked in the lot and then walked across to the front entrance. The door we tried to go instructed us to go to the take out door to go inside. I appreciate them for leaving a sign where to go. I've been to places where there is no note or anyone to ask and it's frustrating. We walked around to the take out door and there is a dog park right next to it. I thought that was pretty cool. When we walked inside there was no one at the host stand, but I could see a few waiters running around. One did stop and say to give them a few minutes and they could help us. After a few minutes a waiter came over and lets us know he would have to take our temperatures first. He took everybody's temperatures then asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside in the enclosed patio area. It was a pretty warm day so we choose the patio area. The inside of restaurant is definitely Instagram worthy! I love the décor and the bright colors they decided to go with. In the middle of the table they have the menu scanner labels one says for regular menu and the other for the drink menu. I already knew what I wanted, but my friends needed to look over the menu. While they did that I order the drink called "Dat booty tho" the name is hilarious! It's made with ginger beer and I love the taste of ginger beer ever since I tried it for the first time in Seattle. I loved the taste of this drink and I wish they had a large cup of this. After a few minutes we ordered our meals. Both of my friends got burgers and I got broasted chicken sandwich. We all got fries on the side. My chicken sandwich just wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It was missing the flavor and it was over cooked. I got ranch on the side cause I thought it would add flavor but the ranch wasn't good either. After another waiter came up to get our plates he asked if we were getting desserts. We didn't plan on it but after he told us how good the beignets are we decided to order them to share. When they came out they were warm and had powered sugar on top. We got caramel sauce to dip them in. Wow he was not lying when he said they were good. I loved how fluffy they were. I also ordered the vegan buffalo cauliflower to go after I noticed it listed on a chalkboard in the dining area. The board also listed the seasonal milkshake, but I didn't order it since we got the beignets. Now the cauliflower was okay but the batter was a little too soggy for me. It came with vegan ranch and I wish I could've got this type of ranch instead of the one I had got earlier. This one was not super thick and tasted really good. I am really picky when it comes to ranch as you can tell. Above all I just wasn't happy with my meal. Maybe I should have went with a regular burger. If I come back it will definitely be for a drink and dessert. Side note: Inside the enclosed patio area you can bring your dogs inside. If you are not a fan of dogs you should eat inside the actual restaurant. read more

Sat outside - beautiful day. Due to COVID, at lunch you order at the takeout area and then they bring the food to you. I had the smash burger with American cheese. Quite good but $8 is a bit pricey for just a burger. The bun was excellent. I ordered the onion rings which were fine but a trifle greasy. I was very excited that they cream soda as it is hard to find at restaurants so I had thought instead of a milk shake. My friend got the chocolate milkshake and was nice enough to let me try it. Will definitely be ordering one next time. read more

This was my first time trying this place and I am over the moon on how much I loved it! For starters, there is a free parking lot right across from the restaurant and plenty of free street parking. The building itself is so cute and inside is even cuter! They have a fairly big outdoor seating area, I highly recommend sitting there if it's nice out! The outdoor area is also dog friendly. The staff was super nice and welcoming. I ordered a burger, fries and a strawberry milkshake & made it boozy! The food was very tasty, flavorful and the portions were pretty big. The strawberry milkshake was by far the best shake I've ever had. I highly recommend checking them out! read more

Baby's - Custom burger and burger of the month. Dat booty tho. Basket of Rolls with Honey Butter. Fries. - American Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

I had never been to Baby's, but when my girlfriend told me about it I was eager to go. We went over the weekend for a late lunch, and it did not disappoint. As far as COVID goes, our temperatures were taken when we arrived and everyone, including the staff, was wearing masks (if not at their table). We sat outside and had plenty of room between us and the next table. The menus were electronic through a code on the table. We ordered our food and it was ready pretty quickly. I got the Strut Burger, she had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, and we split an order of fries. Everything we had was delicious, especially the strawberry milkshake for dessert! Aside from the food, the staff was very friendly with the right level of attentiveness. They used disposable and compostable containers for almost everything including their cups and straws. The place also has a really nice feel and would be good for people of all ages. Baby's is one of Indy's bests and I can't wait to go back! read more

Three of us ate outside for lunch and had a great experience. One vegetarian friend ate the vegan burger and really enjoyed it. She's particular about vegetarian options and rave reviews about it. I ate a tenderloin sandwich and a side of mac and cheese -- so cheesy and gooey. Two huge thumbs up. The other guest has a burger and really enjoyed it. read more

Baby's is such a cute spot. Beyond that it is so delicious! The broasted chicken sandwich is so good- I'm still thinking about it. You can tell that the shakes are made with love, and let's not even start with the cocktails. They are creative and tasty. Honestly I feel like Baby's is a hidden gem. Why haven't you been there yet? Run, don't walk! They also deliver (their own drivers) and pickup! read more

They raised Their prices instinctively. It is no longer a nice sit down be waited on Restaurant. Now you go up to the bar where you order food and then you pay and then somebody eventually sees your food and brings it to you yes you have a number that you have to keep there on your table so they know where the food goes it has turned into an American eatery that fashions after McAllister's. Now I have no trouble with McAlister's's mainly because they've always been that way. I took friends to this restaurant because it was sit down relaxed place to go eat with good food. And there is none of that now that they have remodeled and reconstructed. You will never see me back there unless they remodel and reconstruct again back to the old. read more

Love this place for having a solid vegan option and vegan shakes but I might recommend reformulating their veggie burger recipe a bit. The bun is so thick and the patty is so soft that as soon as you bite it, it slips out of the bun. Maybe adding a thicker patty or cooking the veggie burger until crispy could mitigate this? Other than that engineering, the food is delicious. Fries are top tier. Really cute on the inside. read more

Disappointing. Food was overpriced Steak-n-Shake. At least @ s&s the servers are attentive & your order is correct. Rolls are similar to brown-n-serve. Onions rings were decent. Order came up, dipping sauces incorrect, toppings on the burger weren't correct & they were just your run of the mill smash burgers with thick, dry buns. Chicken tenders, were just regular chicken tenders. Fries were soggy & not very good. Mac & Cheese was tasty. 3 tables occupied & I had to get up to search for our server, who was inside chit-chatting w/coworkers. Can't see your bill they bring out an ipad that's not detailed, so you're not able to see what you're even paying for. $90 later for 3 people, We will never return. read more

I love baby's!! The atmosphere is GREAT. I love everything they stand for and I will be back. I really appreciated that they took temperatures upon arrival and had socially distanced seating. I liked that you could pick your toppings! I will definitely be back. read more

So good. We ordered lunch, one vegetarian bridge, a regular burger, and the broasted chicken. A couple of salads, Sriracha Slaw, fries, and onion rings, beers, all was awesome! I loved this restaurant! As you walk up to the restaurant, there are fairy lights and a cute little doggy area with fake grass. It also looks like it has a great outdoor seating that opens in warmer weather. When you walk in you are greeted with many vibrant colors at the take out counter. These vibrant colors made the restaurant feel very welcoming and inviting! Their decor immediately grabbed my attention as we walked into the restaurant seating. The floor was painted rainbow colors with glitter in the paint, it was so cute! They also had a gorgeous chandelier hanging above a marble circle table. They had pink sparkly booth seating and also lights that hang by a pink string. Even the bathrooms were decorated cute! They also had all gender bathrooms, which I loved and think more places should do this! The service was amazing! We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. All the workers were very friendly! That always makes me want to go back to an establishment. Our server was constantly filling up our waters when we needed it! She was also very attentive, and knew what to recommend on the menu. One of the people at my table wasn't a big fan of the green beans and our waiter let us switch it out for a different item on the menu. The service definitely makes me want to go back to Baby's. They had a very fun drink menu, I thought they were pricey for a single drink. The food price was very reasonable. They had a pretty good variety on their menu!. I ordered the Fish and Fry meal. The batter they used on the cod was delicious. The meal came with french fries, which were also very tasty. I am a fries with ranch type of girl so good ranch is something I always look for while dining out. Their ranch seemed to be home made and it was so good! We also order rolls with their honey butter. The rolls would have been a lot better if they weren't toasted, the honey butter was pretty good though. read more

Awesome!! Loved this place for a fun, Friday date night. We got the BAM burger, the triple with carmelized onions and mango chutney and (of course) loaded fries. Hubs enjoyed the Paris is Burning cocktail and I had a PB whiskey chocolate shake. So yummy!! Service was great. Fun, millennial diner vibes. My burger and the fries were a little too saucey for me but overall delicious. I would go all out on the burger and just get plain fries next time. And I want to try the other boozey milkshake flavors of course!! Try outdoor dining or grab takeout/delivery if you're not yet comfortable going back into the restaurant due to COVID. read more

I'm shocked by some of the reviews because I had an incredibly pleasant experience ordering takeout from this place. I don't even know where to begin because I'm not even sure what my favorite morsel of food was tonight. I'll start by saying that this place is from the same owners as Ball & Biscuit and it's going to give the Eagle a run for its money. I'm not choosing between the two because it's too difficult (love me some Eagle)...but it's almost like they listened to what the Eagle-goers were missing and responded with Baby's. We placed an order in the morning for a 6:30 pickup for a birthday quarantine dinner and when we got there, the place was swamped. The waiting area was the closed patio, which looked really cute and colorful. Normally, I'd be annoyed. But since it was my birthday, I was excited to see so many people ready to enjoy a meal there and pretty jazzed about the atmosphere. Staff was a little behind on orders so the manager (or owner?) kindly gave out High Noon seltzers for those waiting. Once I checked in on my order (it got lost in the tickets), it came out almost immediately - hot and fresh - with a smile. Seriously the best customer service even during the worst of times. Me and my boyfriend split a double smash burger with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onion, American cheese, and dazzle sauce and I was in heaven. Such a crispy flavorful diner-style sandwich that really hit the spot. Simple goodness. And the dazzle sauce was like secret sauce with a hint of malt vinegar (correct me if I'm wrong). The half broasted chicken followed suit. So crunchy and fried to almost a nutty flavor, complemented by honey. Not even slightly soggy. Definitely breadier than the Eagle's but I didn't mind it one bit. Side wise, we went with the Mac and cheese and fries with cheese sauce and white bbq. Unbelievable and so fresh! Mac and cheese used curly cavatappi and had a delicious parmesan topping. No dryness to be found and extra cheesy! The french fry cheese sauce used real cheese and the white bbq was the most amazing vinegary-horseradish sauce maybe ever. Definitely getting that on my burger next time. There are so many unique option toppings, I've already thought of about 69 different mouth-watering combos. I can't wait until this place reopens and I can get my hands on some milkshakes and craft cocktails. That is something (+ burgers) that the Eagle may not be able to compete with. Best 25th birthday dinner ever! read more

My coworker invited me to baby's to celebrate my one year anniversary working. It did not disappoint! I build my own burger with Gouda cheese and it was perfect! I got one patty so it was just right on size. We also shared the bacon fries and they were amazing. It wasn't too pricey even with a cocktail. I got the sashay away which had pineapple and other fruits, it was light and refreshing. I will definitely be back for another burger read more

Solid burger place with good marketing and nice interior. I've tried the strut burger with fries and both met my expectations. Mango relish in the burger is definitely a killer feature and everything was fresh and well made. Fries were ok - thin and crispy, but I personally like fries from In-n-out and Burgerhaus more, that's the gold standard. The wait time was acceptable given how busy the restaurant was in the evening and prices were ok. There's some outdoor seating and plenty of parking nearby, too. Overall, 4/5. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It is very cute. We were quickly disappointed by our drink orders (with the exception of the milkshake which is the only reason I'm giving two stars.) cocktail was watered down and beer did not come with a cold glass. Then - the food. The chicken was fine but not worth the price. The mac'n Cheese was watery. The rolls were the worst part though - I truly think they were just as Hawaiian rolls bought from Kroger up the street! We were so disappointed looking for homemade rolls. Only good part of the meal? - Talbott fries. With that being said, the service was good and I like the area. read more

Y'all..... these patties have so much flavor and aren't dry! I also ordered the TALBOTT STREET FRIES. They come with BACON, CHEESE SAUCE, WHITE BBQ, and PICKLED JALAPENO. Right now this is the best Tenderloin sandwich in Indianapolis I have had. Typically I am ordering the grilled ones because most try to make them thin and big with all that breading but this one you could taste the meat and was juicy. Some may say I don't like people taking my temp before entrance but I like the extra precaution. Tried the burgers and they were good as well. We went here for drag brunch and it was an awesome atmosphere. I did not know that such a fun place was so close to us. The environment is very hip and fun. We also tried the boozy milkshakes and highly recommend! read more

Baby's is probably one of my favorite burger places in Indy. They offer a build your own burger option and have tons of great, different kinds of toppings most places don't normally have and let you pick how many patties you want (up to 3 I believe). For me, I went with their Strut Burger and a chocolate shake with peanut butter whisky and wow was I happy with my choice. Sides can definitely be sharable, so my friends and I split fries and onion rings. If you're like us and couldn't decide, get both - I promise you won't be upset. I love the modern diner look this place has and they have a pretty big patio that's also got heaters, so you can even eat outside in the cooler weather. They also have a parking lot and tons of free street parking so there's never a problem finding somewhere to park. read more

Yummy goodness! We've only done carry out during this pandemic, but their chicken sandwiches are so good! We're about 15 minutes away and everything we've had has arrived hot and fresh after pick up. The flavor is so good, and they're crispy and loaded with pickles. The Mac and cheese was also a huge helping and tasted perfectly cheesy. We've ordered their side salad with Italian dressing as well. They even use a beautiful variety of carrots. I'm waiting in anticipation for one of their delicious looking milkshakes. It's been too warm to try that as a carry out item! Definitely give Baby's a try! You won't regret it! read more

My family and I had dinner here last night and I gotta say, we weren't disappointed! The place looked very cool, they had it very clean and all the staff was very friendly! The kids got the mini cheeseburger meals which comes with a side and drink, they wasted no time eating their meals. As for my wife and I everything is à la carte, so by the time you get all things you want on your burgers and sides it'll add up very quick! That's really the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because this place was way on the pricey side. Other then that, as I said before, the staff was great and the food was delicious! I'm sure we'll visit again but might stick with a single instead of a double burger, cause they will fill you up! The sodas are locally crafted which I thought was cool, the root beer was great! I do recommend trying this cool place out if you like that diner feel, just remember to bring a fat wallet! read more

I was so pleased with this cozy little burger joint! Options for nearly EVERY dietary requirement and it's all incredibly tasty! I went with a meat eater, a picky eater, and myself -- who ordered all vegan! The vegan chili fries are amazing, the veggie burger (served with vegan cheese and made with sweet potato, mushroom, and black beans) is so good that you'll never eat another veggie burger, and the dairy free milkshake (this month is the snickerdoodle) was to die for. As an avid Talbott Street fan back in the day, I couldn't wait to go to Baby's purely out of curiosity. The food is delicious. I'm gluten free, so I wish they would add a GF bun, but I got a double burger with Gouda and mushrooms, and it was excellent even without a bun. My boyfriend had a double burger and the kids had mac n cheese. The kids are kind of picky so we couldn't convince them to try the chicken options--they'd prefer nuggets. We all got orange creamsicle shakes which were the best part of the meal! The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable, and it wasn't overly busy even for a Saturday night. I went to Baby's on Friday November 8th around 11ish in the morning. It was the start of my birthday vacation which I decided to have lunch there especially since I wasn't too far from the location. When I arrive there the parking lot is small, but there are plenty of parking across the street. The first thing I noticed was the yard, outdoors patio, the grass, and the artwork in their yard. Before, I went there I was already reading great review about the restaurant. I sat in the back near the bar, the seats there are so pretty, glossy, glittery pink, and it definitely stands out. I ordered the double smashed burger with melted American cheese, bacon, and I had a very delicious chocolate shake with no whip cream just chocolate drizzle on it. My burger tasted like a bbq cheeseburger to me still very tasty. I love the artwork in the restaurant especially the one by the restrooms. The restrooms are open to everyone, and I believe there's even a family restroom too. I left there from lunch full, and very satisfied. I'll be back to try out items on the menu. Oh! They do have a full bar, sell beer, wine. Etc. read more

A friend and I came to Baby's on a Sunday evening around 5. It had a good number of tables filled without being too busy, so we were able to seat ourselves right away. Because it opted for a diner/counter service style, there was no hostess and a sign saying to seat yourselves. With families standing in front of the sign, it was a bit hard to tell that was the layout, and with no greeting, it took us a couple of minutes to decide on an area. Overall, the vibe of this place is so fun! From the minute you walk in, you're greeted with neon signs, disco balls, and lots and lots of pink. It's also huge, with a large outdoor area and plenty of seats inside. The table we found was right next to a storage area for plates and utensils along with the soda machine, so that brought down the aesthetic a little, but could easily be overlooked. (Side note: the bathrooms are also very large and clean and fit with the overall design, which is a plus). Service at the counter was great with a smiling face and a friendly attitude. This carried over to when our order was delivered. Overall, though there is limited service, each interaction we had with the staff was great! For food, I ordered the Strut burger, which was absolutely amazing, and it offered a combination of flavors I've never had before. HOWEVER, due to the fruit and the slices of gouda, it was very messy, so don't be ashamed to grab all the napkins you need. Unfortunately for the price, our burgers didn't come with fries, so we ended up not trying those. Honestly, the burgers are filling enough on their own for a classic diner meal. Our total for two burgers and two drinks came to $40, so pricey, but reasonable. We stayed for about an hour and a half, which says little about the wait time and more about how the design of the place encourages a friendly atmosphere for talking. The crowd picked up toward the end of our time, but it never felt so busy that it impeded our experience. Overall, the experience of the aesthetic and the tastiness of the food make this a must-try! read more
