Small bakery everything was sold by the lb which is not bad. I got two doughnuts and 4 raspberry cookies. The cookies were alright. The doughnuts or rolls were good as well but wish they had more filling. They had a few dried orange pieces on top and some rose raspberry filling towards the very end. I didn't even know the doughnuts had filling. It's more of a take out spot. I would give the rolls one more try. read more

Holy cow! I just wanted to say that the plum pączki doughnuts here are incredible. Some of the best doughnuts I've ever had in my life. There's this very subtle marmalade glaze on top and they come yummy and warm if you get there in the morning. I had read they were only available on Saturdays but apparently you can actually get them all week. They are delicious and will definitely be a new weekend treat. I've been to this bakery a few times, the first time I had a very pleasant lady who was super nice to me but the last threes times, including today I had the same lady serve me. She always seems to have an attitude when I'm there, never smiles or even bother to look at me when I'm ordering. I don't know if is because of the color of my skin but to me it seems like it bother's her to serve me. Today I told myself that I will never return because of that lady, as I was driving away I open my coffee to let it cool off because and I find a dead fly swimming in my coffee. I asked for a Chai latte and was informed rather rudely that they did not have that. The older woman behind the bar spoke to me as if it was a ridiculous request when it was clearly displayed on their menu board. The latte was lackluster, no foam just hot milk. Funny enough the disposable coffee cup it was served in said "Colombia". Ironic, since they were so discriminatory here. Ordered an eclair - it was old and the filling was nothing better than any you could find at a stop and shop. Ordered a cherry pie - dough was far too salty Overall, trash experience and the quality of the food was not even worth it. Paid $23 to be upset by the older woman's racism. We absolutely love everything at Babka Bakers. We drove past it many times going home since my parents live in Ridgewood. What made us stop by is that their bread was sold at East Village Meat Market (Baczynski). I used to work at the high school up the block and would go there all of the time. We finally stopped by when going to Ridgewood and tried everything over many visits. Nothing disappoints. You will be very pleased. I couldn't be a luckier person! I now work at the high school across the street from the bakery in Maspeth and enjoy their delicious breads all of the time. Parking can be tedious but it is worth it, then you can go to Kiszka down the block and get some cold cuts and salad to make a delicious sandwich. read more

Picked up a large, chocolate yeasty babka and a few chocolate cigars for a Hanukkah party. I really liked the babka and would highly recommend it. I picked it up around 3 pm and was fortunate to buy the last large chocolate babka. It was chocolatey and flakey. It made just the right amount of mess. The chocolate cigars were good too. Compare my photo to every photo on google search. I made a surprise emergency stop when I saw the name because I love babka...it should have been a sign when I asked the lady who worked there if the Babka was amazing for its namesake. Ended up going to the back and finding out that they won't have Babka until Friday. If you're going to be shitty bakery, fine. But if you're going to be a shitty babka bakery, at least have shitty babka for me to buy. Would give them zero stars if I could. read more

They have the best lemon pound cake! We've been getting one almost every other week. It has a strong fresh lemon flavor and is very fragrant. They also have one of the best donuts! The dough is so good that when you bite into it, it bounces back to its original form. The texture shows they know what they're doing with their fermentation. They only make donuts on Saturdays and only two flavors: plum and rose. We had both flavors, I like the plum and my husband likes the rose. The plum has the natural plum sourness to it which I like. Their breads are good and freshly made. They are heavy, feels like a few pounds! We like the plain ones, the inside is dense and moist. They're famous for the ones full of seeds, but we are not into eating healthy breads; we tried them before and they're really full of seeds with every bite! Their coffee is also fresh ground and super hot like boiling hot but packed with flavor. I've never had a boiling hot latte before, great for winter! read more

Girls working there are very nice but I've been lied to when I asked if products are fresh. Babka is the best bakery in town. The bread and pastries are always fresh. My husband buys plenty here every weekend. Our favorite is the cheesecake and the sunflower loaf. I totally disagree with one of the reviewers this place is not racist! I'm Hispanic, my husband and I shop here all the time with no issue. We love it! Best. Peanut butter. Cookie. EVER. I went here pretty late on a Sunday, so the selection was pretty limited. I did, however, get one of their peanut butter cookies as per the nice lady at the counter's suggestion. I was super doubtful--I'm not crazy about peanut butter cookies and they wouldn't be my first choice, but damn. It was good. Nice big and thick cookie that's soft in the middle but has a crunch around the edges. I'd definitely come back to try a babka. And get another peanut butter cookie. read more

I have been walking by for months and today I decided to go inside and buy a few pastries. Amazing!! I tried the mini blueberry pie, and I took home for the family, a chocolate chip cookie, coconut shortbread and a piece of chocolate ganache cake. It was well enjoyed by all. What a wonderful little gem in Maspeth. Next time I would like to try the freshly baked bread I saw behind the counter. I saw healthy options like spelt, and sunflower seed breads. Checked out this place this past weekend when bringing my car to F.A.S.T. Auto. Tried all of the cookies. They had some really interesting cookies I've never seen before like the oatmeal flour chocolate chip, the triple chocolate walnut, and the oatmeal cherry cookie. They were all amazing and perfectly made; soft, chewy and very rich. I also tried the bread, the peanut butter cookies and the rum balls. The rum balls are amazing and you must try them. The 'must haves' for me have to be the triple chocolate walnut cookie, the oatmeal cookie and the rum balls but everything here is great including the coffee and espresso that's better than most coffee shops. Since it is a Polish Bakery I tried the 'Rozki' as well, it's a white poppy seed pastry with chocolate cream, honey, and dark chocolate on top. It was also amazing and I've never seen that before! This place can stand shoulder to shoulder with any bakery in the city. I think the triple chocolate walnut cookie is better than any levains double chocolate chip because it was richer, chocolatier and has walnuts. It has to be my new favorite cookie. Normally I don't comment on decor but this place is really nice and clean inside. It's Cash only though. read more

Great Sweets and Great Service! Charming young man behind the counter helped me to a delicious iced latte. The rum soaked Nutella babka is great. The neopoletan was fantastic and the cheesecake we had was also very good. Everything is made from ingredients shipped in from Poland which means GMO free. I really like this bakery. It's literally down the street from me. The baker and rest of the staff are really friendly. I'm becoming a regular because I love their chocolate rum balls so much, that the proprietor already knows what I'm gonna get and asks me "how many?". It's not a place you'd expect to sit down and socialize or work with wifi access but it's definitely good service and I'd definitely recommend them for their pastries. read more

We went there today to get chocolate babka. Ended up getting the signature babka and a sesame pastry. The babka was disappointing as a babka, although it could have counted as a decent tea cake. This is a relatively new bakery and they have a bright future ahed of them. I have gotten so used to surly european bakery owners in the neighborhood it was quite refreshing to walk in and be met by a young faced 20 something year old with a great smile and attitude who after small talk i found out is actually the owner! The style is quite modern yet the options have a old patisserie feel to them that brings me back to the sweets my grandmother use to make. The Chocolate babka was amazing and I am not sure what coffee beans they use but it compliments their pastries perfectly. Tom the owner is quite knowledgeable of gluten free recipes and healthy alternatives that taste great as well (he let me try a couple things since i didn't know what i wanted) Cant wait to go back! read more

This cute bakery is the BEST! The lay out is clean and classy (Black and white) with the cutest decorations. I love the vibe every time I step into the place. I love all the pastries. The gluten free options are the best I have seen yet in that area as well as in the Williamsburg area. My favorite treats are the gluten free chocolate covered Babkas. They are always fresh. The gluten free fudge brownies, and the cacao cookies with white chocolate chips are also a 'must have'. Don't even get me started on their espresso and latte's. I come in regularly for an almond milk latte and it never disappoints. I have gotten a few other people hooked on this place's coffee too. They should sell the beans by the bag! read more
