Shhhh don't tell anyone but I'm not a local from Cutten. You can tell because I'm not gushing over how great this place is. You want a real review of his place? Well honestly it's your basic corner pizza parlor. Nothing bad, nothing to phone home about. They have pizza (some signature pies), limited pasta, sandwiches and wings. Again I have to stress LIMITED (no fettuccine and with COVID even the small menu has grown smaller).They used to have beer and wine but that's gone (COVID). Has an arcade so good for that family night when they open up fully again. Now down to brass tacks. One word: Basic. Probably better to just say Bland. Don't get me wrong it's not bad but I feel like I forgot I ate pizza after eating there. Low key getting delivery from Domino's is the same. Actually a frozen pizza from WinCo would match. The toppings aren't bad it's just the dough. They have no options. I guess they just stamp and cut some frozen stuff, throw on some toppings, and hand it to you. I've had better at Little Caesars and they at least have a deep dish. Tl;DR Just be wary. I'ts an eat 'n forget corner place that the locals will highly recommend from their "Local's Corner" (complete with pictures and trophies). Par with Jack in the Box. Edit: Honestly the dough is so bad. I've been there a few times now and can't you guys make it so it isn't like soggy paper? Do you know what dough is? It should be able to crisp up and not be super bland paper like yours. read more

Solid pizza with a nice sporty ambience but also kid friendly. I ordered a half spinach and chicken and half babe's special pizza. The spinach and chicken half was creamy but the spinach was slightly burnt. ( I think this was due to them using baby spinach instead of whole spinach leaves. ) The babe's special half was healthy in meats and other toppings but suffered from the same spinach issue. Just started going to Babes since the pandemic started. I call in my order and pay over the phone including tip. Pull up out front and pop my trunk. They have several masked folks working the parking lot. In a matter of minutes my pizza is in the trunk and I'm on my way. No contact! Best part is the pizza is awesome! If I could give negative stars I would. Went in to get a pizza after work. The to go order was given to me while I was drinking a glass of beer. I sat there for a couple minutes while I finished my beer and then headed home. When I was literally on my street I got a call saying that they gave me the wrong pizza. So all of that to get to the reason for the low rating. They messed this up and did not want to fix it. They wanted me to come back to swap the pizza out. We explained that we did not want to have to drive back over there and that since it was their mistake we felt they should deliver it. Well they delivered it...and they tried to charge us a $3.50 delivery fee. They were argumentitive at every step of process. Then, to top it all off, when they delivered it, the driver proceeded to lecture me as to why I should pay this fee for their mistake. I am done with this place. We were loyal customers getting dinner there at least once a week. They told us tonight that they don't give a damn about our business so I will take my business elsewhere. If I were the new owners I doubt that I would be pleased with my staff treating my customers this way. read more

Walked in place was packed...thinking this better be some really good pizza... Got home to find a very cheesy cheese pizza and the Friday night special, the happy Hawaiian with lots of toppings...not bad at all but I'm from NY and theres no Cali pizza that compares. Wow this place has really gone down hill since the new owners took over. I ordered three medium pizzas and two were basically paper thin crust. It was like they took the dough for a mini and stretched it paper thin. The employees are beyond rude and very unhelpful. It's a shame the new owners who are local don't give a shit about their product and the good name of a landmark restaurant here in Humboldt. I ordered a large pizza for delivery. It was mediocre at best. A pre-made crust from a package. Totally bland and flavorless. Flat as a crepe and soggy. The toppings are minimal. I got maybe 3 pieces of sausage per piece. It was bland and flavorless just like the crust. They call it a large but it only has 8 slices that would be half a slice on any other pizza. Don't waste your money. Dominos is better and I would never eat dominoes. No red pepper or cheese packets which could have made it edible. read more

I have loved Babe's Pizza for years. Tonight I ordered a Babe's Special take n bake and when I got home to McKinleyville I was shocked to find the spinach was not fresh, it had piles of canned or frozen spinach on it! I spent 20 minutes trying to take it all off and had to put more cheese on it. This is just a warning to have them leave the spinach off of the Babe's Special. YUCK. read more

Pretty rude employees. Restaurant keeps changing owners and food has greatly suffered. Was served generally raw cheese bread and pizza went missing and turned out they served it to a different party. Management blamed us for them messing up the order numbers. The pizza is so delicious here! My family has gone here for years, I remember having baseball team and birthday parties here as a kid. Reconnecting with family over a pizza in this comfy environment sticks out in my memory. The staff is friendly and I always see familiar faces when I come in. I am glad that they have such a solid delivery service. I love that they have recently started selling pied slices from another local business, Slice of Humboldt Pie (another must-visit restaurant). So the food at Babes is decent but that's not the reason for this review. this is due to poor customer service. when looking at the menu on their website the special of that day was to get a free small cheese pizza with a purchase of a regularly priced pizza. I wanted to take advantage of that promotion. But when I called to place my order I was told that they wouldn't honor that promotion due to being the wrong one despite it being displayed on their website. when I asked to speak to a manager I was told that there wasn't one their that day. I placed my order for my food despite not being able to use their advertised special. when I went to pick up my food I mentioned it to the girl at the register and she told me a manager was there after all. so when I spoke to him he got very aggressive and threatened to not sell my my food when I asked him to honor their advertised promotion. he also stated he was the owner (but im not sure he was). so when Babes could've made a long time customer happy by honoring a special that was on their website (by mistake is what I was told) they chose to threaten me and make sure I wouldn't go back there again. Again, the foods fine there but I would want to go somewhere where they treat long time customers like that. read more

You can't go wrong with Babe's! Last night we got the Friday night special, XL Hawaiian for 19.50. The crust I noticed is thinner than usually, I don't know if this is a fluke or the new way, but we Super enjoyed it! Many times my husband will come get the daily lunch special, since I only see the leftovers my 2 year old is a great fan of the lasagna! I LOVE the stuffed mushroom pizza, it's rich, so we don't order it often...but it is the stuff of dreams! Sometimes for lunch we order the BLT which is fantastic, but it has to be eaten the same day due to the lettuce and tomatoes. We found this place on Yelp whilst stopping at Eureka during a road trip. We are big pizza fans and decided to try it. The interior looks clean and has booths and a couple of tables. There is a very small banquet room and 2 gaming machines. They had TVs going. We ordered a medium pepperoni and pineapple and it came to about $20. Really good pizza! Definitely recommend.
