I came in and had drinks and dinner at the bar. I was not warmly welcomed and the bartender Doug was reaming the new bar back about how awful it was she hadn't given someone a plate and cutlery prior to the food arrival and not at the time it was delivered. Mind you, this was all very loud and before I was even greeted, but already seated. That set the tone of the evening. The beer selection on draught was good and the food was meh. I had the sausage and pepper sandwich with chorizo which was a patty with peppers and too little aoli. I literally make better in my own kitchen, but I am a pretentious cook. The beef fat fries were legit the best. I wish this place had the Bologna pasta and cheese like I saw in old pics or the pork belly with beans. This place is too meat centric with not enough sides of substance or variances in flavor or acidity. I was extremely underwhelmed considering this is a hip/trendy area. When I was finally greeted, they said that I can't order food between 345 - 4 pm. So you let me sit here for 10 minutes and then offer me a menu after the kitchen is in transition? Pound sand. Love Red Apron, but I don't have time for this amateur nonsense. I'm just baffled. There was one single table occupied, and the bar wasn't full with people. So, it's not like they were slammed. Two guys were doing inventory, and a guy and a girl were doing other administrative tasks of some sort. I was so excited to try this place out based on reviews, but after last night I won't be going back. Between one waitress for the whole restaurant, and the overpriced cheese board for a tiny piece of cheese, this place just isn't worth the money you spend. The worst part was at one point the power went out- fine, that's out of their control, but when our fried Brussels sprouts came out there was a TINY portion on the plate. When we asked the waitress about it she told us they were giving smaller portions because everyone was ordering it and the broilers weren't working! I can get behind that, IF we pay less for it. Well the bill came, they were on there for full price. When I asked about it the waitress brushed it off and basically said she couldn't do anything about it. It wasn't worth the fight so we wound up just paying full price. I won't be going back here or recommending this place to anyone! Really crappy customer service. read more

My favorite bar out here in mosaic, they are the same owners as red apron I believe so the food is good too! I'm a fan of their charcuterie plates and wine selections. I have been to Bside twice now. My first visit we had a burger and the beef fat fries. I thought it was decent, not amazing but decent. I decided it was a good idea to give Bside another try so my fiancé, my brother, and myself all headed there for dinner. We ordered two beef fat fries, one without rosemary (the fiancé is extremely picky about herbs, yeah really annoying) a full plate of the half roasted half fried chicken and a Caesar salad. I also ordered a drink that I cannot remember the name, I do remember it tastes like a Christmas tree. It's is December and almost Christmas so I accepted the festive pine tree tasting beverage. The waiter came back and said they are out of salad. Kind of odd but no biggie, I ordered the garlicky kale instead. Food comes out and here is where it goes downward. The fries were so insanely salty, I mean coated in salt. You want to ruin fries, over salt them. Looking back, I should have sent the fries back and had them make another batch but I hate being petty and so I just suck it up and not return to the restaurant. The chicken I will say was tasty. I really enjoyed the honey hot sauce, although it is pretty spicy. The garlicky kale was good and served in a little pot, I like little pots. Best burgers in the area! Meat is lean and flavorful without being dry. It's part of the Red Apron butcher and you can definitely tell that the meat is high quality and fresh. Like the way neighbors and affiliates Red Apron Butchery blend the favors in their charcuterie, B Side Cuts is a masterful balancing act. It's casual enough to be a locals' neighborhood favorite, but has the digs- and prices- to be a hipster (whatever that term is supposed to mean?) den. With an eclectic vinyl selection spinning, B Side has a low-key- almost chill- vibe that almost feels transplanted right out of DC to the suburbs. Even though an expansive selection of craft and imported bottled beer dominates the menu, the approachable bartenders have a creative cocktail menu too and are fully able to go 'off schedule' to whip up something if the menu is not exactly what your drink buds are craving. Yes it's a bar, but it's most definitely not typical bar food- and with a connection to Red Apron, that's a good thing. You might not care for all of their cured meat concoctions, but there's probably one that you will love. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The food here is amazingly good. I came here with a group of 5 and had appetizers at the bar. We ordered the fritters, the pimento cheese and the pork wings. The pimento cheese and the fritters were delicious. For dinner we all had burgers, fries and we ordered the meatball with creamy polenta which has the to be the best dish on the menu! Everything was very good and the bartender had great knowledge about eh beer selection. All in all, A+ for this spot. read more

Here, we at least had a standing counter space near the bar and were able to order few cocktails. Let me say right away that their specialty craft cocktails suck! Beer and charcuterie selection, on the other hand, is very extensive and tasty. I don't care much for burgers (too huge and messy for my taste) or schnitzel (had too many of them in Austria), so I've ordered Steak Tartar. OMG, what an epic fail!!! Not only did it taste lousy, half of the ingredients were on a side or missing. This wasn't something even closely resembling a classic French dish. Now I know why there was hardly any wait there. Promising. Came here for dinner but had a 30 min wait for a table so grabbed a drink. The bar staff was pretty gruff. To the point my friend and I were making jokes about how friendly they were (sarcasm) to mask how awkward it was. Host and waitress were friendly though. Menu is limited but seems solid. This is my favorite place to go for food in the Mosaic District. The smokehouse burger is one of the best I've ever had. Keep in mind that it is attached to a butcher and the menu reflects that. The drinks menu is huge with a lot of fun options. My only complaint is the lighting, it does get very dark in some areas, making it difficult to see the menu. They have an amazing menu and a wonderful assortment of beer. My only complaint is they are in DC and not Colorado. I was in town on a business trip and decided to try it. I sat at the bar and they bartender was very helpful in recommending both food and beer. They have a chartreuse menu where you can pick meat and cheeses. I went to Bside for the first time because it was one of the new places that opened up at the Mosaic District. I went there with friends and had dinner and drinks. We ordered few of b-small dishes: pig wings, pork meatball, pork rinds, beef fat fries, and mixed cocktails and wine. Everything was delicious. Bside is a cute bar/restaurant next to Red Apron. Huge selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. You will always find something and if you are overwhelmed with all the selections just ask the bartenders and they will gladly help you. It's been maybe a year now and I still go to Bside. What brings me back are the bartenders and employees of Bside. It's like coming to a friends' dinner party every week! I want to give a special shout out to 2 of my favorite bartenders, Gina and Alicia. They are a big part of why i come back to the Bside...other than the BEEF FAT FRIES =P So give it a try, check em out, and I'll probably be meeting you soon right at the bar! read more

Just one problem the last time I visited. WAAAYY too small portions for the spaghetti bolognese. First of all I would say that we do like this place a lot but last time we went there I was a little disappointed for the reason above. I usually do not like big portions because I think they are a waste of products but I literally finished my food in about 5 minutes and I am not exaggerating. I was so surprised. I don't know if they are going for the European small portion now but I am from Europe and that is small even for European standards. The food here is delicious, and very reasonably priced. A friend and I split the rotissi-fried chicken, an entree I highly recommend. It was juicy, flavorful, crispy - just perfect. We also split the polenta - chessy, creamy yumminess - and the Brussels sprouts, which were well-seasoned. We finished up with the graham cake (sweet, cruncy) and the poached pear (I'm not a fan of caramel, but the pear itself was excellently cooked). Overall, the food was fantastic, and service was good. The only negative for me was the insanely huge wine/beer list, which also was very pricey. If you're not a connoisseur, it's hard to find something reasonable to drink. I have been meaning to visit B Side for quite some time and tonight my husband and I visited. We left thinking "meh" - it wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't our favorite. When you first walk you have to walk through Red Apron Butcher. The ambiance inside B Side is very chill and intimate. There are maybe about 20 tables or so and then the bar area. We received the menus and our waiter was really attentive and helpful! Their drink menu is bonkers!! Lots and lots of drink options - wine, beer and cocktails. My husband and I had some running around to do so we both just ordered water although my husband was interested at their vast selection. We both ordered the Red Apron Burger and the Beef Fat Fries. The burger was "ok" and nothing special. The fries were yummy and are definitely shareable! We didn't even finish all of our fries. For two burgers and fries and topping well - it was around $33-35 or so. I would much rather go to Shake Shack for a good burger - but the ambiance here was nice. They also have meat and cheese platters that looked good. We were craving burgers and if you're looking for a yummy burger worth the price I would go to Elevation or Shake Shack. read more

This. Place. Is. Incredible. I had beef fat fries and a burger with pork and cabbage coleslaw, and I can confidently say it was the best burger I've ever had, and the fries are way up there. The meat is all from animal wellness certified places, which is important to me. But mainly, it was DELICIOUS. Second burger I've had from there, and it's just....its nearly indescribable. B Side was just good. That's all I can really say. I enjoyed my time there and the service was kind and friendly, however, I was disappointed in the food. A couple of my friends, my wife and I went to B Side expecting to eat some awesome burgers, as B Side always shows up for a good burger spot in the area, but we were underwhelmed by our meals. First off, everything on their menu is a-la-carte. So no meals come with any sides, but by the price of the food, you wouldn't realize that. Secondly, which was the biggest disappointment is their burgers are only 6 oz. For $12, with no sides, that is significantly over priced. Most burger places are at least 8oz burgers, if not 10oz, so that was just a bummer. But I will say, the burger was flavorful and tasted good. Lastly, the beef fat French fries were definitely a disappointment. They did taste great but every one of my French fries were crumbs. I don't think there was one full fry longer than 1 inch. I don't know if I just got all the scraps but for $6 I was expecting better. My wife got the veggie burger and she said it was basically just brown rice mashed together with little to no veggies in it. I'm not going to hold a place like this hostage for a bad veggie burger. But just wanted to note that it's a big area they could improve on. Other side/appetizers look good but we didn't get too much to eat. read more

Decided on trying B Side after a couple of apps at Requin on New year's day and wanting a little more variety on a menu. The beer list is enormous for the beerheads out there. The pork marrow was just okay to me, but I'm used to beef marrow so could be biased. the beef fat fries are incredible. the pork meatball was great too but the polenta it's served on was a bit too rich of a combination. The best stuff here is the charcuterie and cheese though. I think it's a must order. the bourbon fig and pickled half smoke were incredible. Like many above restaurants, if you know what to order here, you'll leave happy. The burgers are good as well but for me, it's the fries and charcuterie. read more

What a genius concept!! Red Apron Butcher opens up a bar / restaurant in adjoining store space and serves up dishes using the fresh meats from their store. Finally had an opportunity to try this place out the other evening. Loved everything we had! We 3 shared a Charcuterie cold cuts & cheeses. We all ordered a different cocktail to try -- loved mine! I got the "Love Street". Very nice! I got the special Burger (it had a fried egg and frisee). Very good but rich and heavy. We also ordered the fries in beef fat to share. SO GOOD!! Must try this! And the Brussels Sprouts side to share also. My companions got the Butcher's Cut and Rotissifried Chicken. Both said theirs were good and I did get to try the chicken (as take home a day later) which was excellent. It was a very meat heavy meal but to be expected. A better way would probably have been to order 2 main meat dishes and a salad and we all share it family style. That way the meal would be more balanced for everyone. Though there's not a lot of choices in way of veg in this place. Definitely a meat-lover paradise here! Come here for drinks and a little meaty snack on the side is the best way to go with this place. read more

We went here for a birthday dinner after a lot of wandering around Mosaic district. It's seems like this place is always packed so I would expect a wait any time you go. We ended up trying a few of the meats and cheeses, none of which were particularly remarkable or memorable. The butcher's cut that evening was a strip steak and perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. We also tried the roasted marrow. What was interesting about this one was that they can removed the marrow, seasoned it and stuffed it back into the bone. The flavor was good, but I would have preferred a little bit more salt. Overall, an enjoyable experience, but I would try a new place before going back. read more
