I don't know what it is but I've been crazing sushi so much lately! Awi Sushi is a new-to-me spot though and I'm glad I tried it. They're tucked into the corner of Crossroads Collective food hall, and I popped in to grab some quick lunch to-go. Both gentlemen working the counter were so sweet and friendly! Their menu is vast with tons of great options, so much so that it was hard to decide. In the end I got the spicy dragon roll since it was on special and sounded tasty! It sure was. Crab on the inside and spicy tuna on the outside, what's not to love? It's the best when you see your sushi being made fresh right in front of you, and that's what you'll find here. Try them out on your next sushi run!

The sushi here was amazing! The best sushi I've had. The service was awesome as well. He came to check on us multiple times making sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance is quiet and it's a cute little restaurant!!

This place has a good selection of sushi for a reasonable price. There is plenty of seating. Service was slow and any time the server said something I literally could not hear her. She was basically whispering. That was pretty awkward, because I had to keep asking her to repeat herself because I just couldn't hear what she was saying. I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 3 because I really did enjoy the food.

Wow! What a great place that's opened downtown! Glad I got a chance to check out such a new and busy sushi affordable place. Usually around 10-12$ a roll and the sushi rolls are very fresh and sushi burrito were a hit! Would totally go back! 20% off entire order till April 22th for grand opening so go ASAP!

Wanted sushi but did not want to go out so ordered delivery. This was great!! Everything was packaged very nicely. Well labeled. The food tasted great too. Well worth the price. Put together quickly considering the quality am very impressed. Friends and I will order or go here again!!

Ordered tons of sushi as take out one night and it was all so good! I had never heard of Awi until I was hanging out at a friend's house and decided I needed all the sushi! Very expensive but I couldn't decide which sushi I wanted so it felt like I ordered them all. I cannot remember which rolls I ordered, but I did take photos of how they came packaged. I'll definitely be willing to try it again and maybe next time I'll stop in, instead of ordering out!

Visiting from St. Louis we wanted to find a sushi place that was unique to Milwaukee a hidden gem downtown was made. Friendly staff and easy on your pocket book this was a great memory and will not hesitate to visit again. Thank you for your high detail to your craft and will visit again.

Food is AMAZING!!!! I got the Avalanche roll, It was beyond good! I usually struggle to finish a roll.. and I didn't want to share this one! Hubby got the Yellowtail jalapeño- said it was delicious. Only complaint. Pieces were THICK.. lol... not really a complaint he was happy about all of it. Ginger salads were HUGE and so refreshing. Staff is top-notch- attentive without being overbearing. Smaller intimate dining areas..nice bar shelf along the front window if you want to people watch. Don't sleep on this place. it's a gem! Go show them some love

I've had my fair fair of sushi but this place takes it to another level. The raw fish are fresh and generously placed on each rolls. The quality is top notch but the average price is ~$11 per roll, which is really cheap compared to their competitors. They just opened, but they are staying busy, especially with DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub. Go get yours while they still have 20% grand opening discount!

Great quality food with some of the best prices I've seen for sushi! Lots of creative roll options, but they also do the classics well. Online ordering is fast and efficient, but so is stopping in and ordering at the counter. I haven't dined in yet, but the ambiance seems pretty modern and clean. Awi will definitely be one of my go to spots for sushi cravings!

So so good, I went online and looked at the pictures the sushi burrito got me right away. I got the burrito #1 on the menu. It's so good and I'm glad that the ginger tasted juicy. Glad I found parking right out front but it's so congested downtown. I'm definitely going to comeback. The staff seemed really nice as well.

This is very reasonable restaurant. It's not fancy, but very delicious sushi and sashimi and reasonable price. I ordered Miso Soup, Seaweed salad, salmon sashimi, dragon roll. All were tasty. Service was quick and great too.

The ice cream is ridiculously smooth, rich, and packed with flavor--like you can tell right away this isn't your average scoop. Everything is handcrafted with high-quality ingredients, and they even rotate unique flavors that keep you coming back just to see what's new. From classics to wild combos (yes... whiskey ice cream is a thing), every bite hits. And let's talk portions... that "double scoop" is basically a challenge in disguise. No complaints though. The vibe is awesome too--laid back, creative, and full of energy. It feels like one of those spots you stumble into and immediately know it's gonna be a regular stop. Fast service too! Honestly, it felt like stepping into a Kangra Knova track-- "Take you up so high... into outer space" because that's exactly what this ice cream does

Date of visit: March 28, 2026…read more I am shocked and appalled that I have never posted a review of Purple Door despite all the times that I have come here. I live near Kopp's and I come here about as much as I go there even though it's not at all convenient! The variety of flavors, from old standbys like strawberry and butter pecan, to the more unusual such as strawberry hibiscus or road gravel ensure that there's a little something for everyone, and it certainly does not hurt that they make their waffle cones fresh on site. This is not a drill, people! And while I thoroughly enjoy the waffle cone smell, my heart is always set on a milkshake and Purple Door almost always comes through (there has been the occasional time that they are out of milk but thankfully that was not the case on this visit!). This time around was Salted Caramel Cookies and Cream and it was fantastic. I will say that I struggled mightily both getting the straw out of the plastic wrapper and then getting the damn thing into the lid. I ended up aborting the entire mission and just removed the top and drank it out of the cup, which was good because there was a massive chunk of cookie at the bottom that wouldn't have made up a regular straw, much less that lame excuse they were handing out that evening.

We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
