The funfetti cookie sandwich is something I'd drive back to Milwaukee for. Two soft cookies with just the perfect amount of whipped cream between them. It's large yet easy to finish in one sitting. Located inside the Public Market, this is a must stop stall. The chocolate chunk cookie was also amazing. Large with a soft center but crispy edges. The mousse cake was very moist snd the mousse itself was fluffy and light. It wasn't overly rich. I wish there would have been more cake in the middle (it dips down un the middle for the mousse) but everyone's cake to cover mousse/frosting is different. I was just commenting to someone the other day how much I would like some carrot cake. We were at the Milwaukee Public Market today and as we walked by the C Adam Bakery my eye was caught by the towering many-tiered carrot cake. We bought a slice of cake and some assorted cupcakes. The salad plate-sized cookies looked very tempting as well. The carrot cake was one of the best I've had. WOW...was this bakery amazing or what! I visited the Milwaukee Public Market the other day while traveling through the city and stumbled upon C Adam's Bakery immediately upon entering. The extensive selection of cakes, cookies, macaroons, and other desserts available at VERY reasonable prices was impressive. My eye was immediately drawn to the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and walnuts. This slice of cake was no wimpy slice, we are talking a massive slice of cake enough for 2 people to have their full at only $5.45 per slice. This was probably the most delicate, moist, fluffy, and soft carrot cake I have ever had, 10/10. Other offerings included seasonal treats like gingerbread men and peppermint chocolate cheesecake amongst others. I also got a gingerbread man cookie for the road. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and prompt when serving. There was a line of about 3 people when I went to the establishment and only waited about 2 minutes before placing my order. The baker who helped me was kind, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The business is very clean and presentable. The bakery is just a storefront and there are areas to sit and eat upstairs. I could not resist these cupcakes when I passed by them at the public market omg! I ended up trying 4 flavors with a friend sooooo here's my ranking: 1. Cookie Butter - (1000/10) if you like cookie butter even a little bit or have never tried it you are missing out! The cake was perfectly moist and the cream was sooo smooth and buttery. I loved every bit of it. 2. Vanilla Bean - I'm a vanilla over chocolate girl so take this with a grain of salt. I really really loved this cupcake I thought it was just the right amount of sweetness (and once again moist cake and smooth toppings) 3. Carrot - pretty standard carrot cake! I thought the frosting on this one was a little runny but the cake itself was good and had visible pieces of carrot if you're into that 4. Red Velvet - also pretty standard red velvet but nothing special here. The frosting on this one was kinda tough maybe cuz it was in the fridge the longest but the cake was overall just ok The staff here were super nice and the prices are all very reasonable ($3/cupcake). It was pretty impossible to walk past this bakery at the public market and not buy something.... Or a lot of things. The wide variety and cookies that were so bright and cutely decorated made us have to stop. We got a small pumpkin cheesecake as well as an assortment of cookies including shortbread, snickerdoodle, and animal cracker. The frosting to cookie ratio was bang on, and nothing was too sweet. The cheesecake was creamy and well spiced. This made for a great dessert back at our hotel room, and if we're in the neighborhood again we'll definitely be back for another cookie fix. Just when I thought that I knew what a good cupcake or cookie was, I visited C Adam's Bakery and my life was turned upside down. The bakery case was full to the brim with every sweet delight you could think of with fresh-out-of-the-oven items on the racks right behind them. I was in heaven. Since I'm from Florida and came to Milwaukee to enjoy the autumn, I clearly had to try to the apple cupcake with salted caramel frosting. The frosting was magnificently creamy and flavorful - not too sweet, the cake was dense and moist, and the apple insides were the perfect bit of apple pie. Just the type of autumnal experience I was looking for. The kid in me also had to try the funfetti cookie sandwich. It was huge and more delicious than any other cookie sandwich I'd had before... the perfect amount of cream in the middle for a big kid like me! And finally, I asked for help choosing a third item. I was told that the vegan chocolate chip cookie was delicious, even for non-vegans. And that recommendation was spot on - it was one of the top chocolate chip cookies I've tasted in recent memory. Wanted something small for dessert, so I decided to pick up a few things from here. They had a variety of different items that all looked delicious, but I decided to go with the tiramisu cake ball, raspberry cheesecake ball, and a tiramisu macaroon. All three items tasted amazing! I liked the fact that they weren't overly sugary and the shells on the cake balls were not too thick. I took off a star because the staff wasn't very friendly and there was no clear line to order. Loved this spot! Came here for a chocolate chip cookie. The first time I went (yes, I went twice lol) they didn't have an OG chocolate chip cookie, so I went with the vegan option. It was tasty, but was missing the buttery richness of actual butter. I went back a second time and then got a Brookie (brownie + cookie) and then also the OG chocolate chip cookie. I typically come to the Milwaukee Public Market for lunch or dinner and most of the time on my way out I pick up a cookie from C. Adam's Bakery. They have such an extensive selection - including VEGAN cookies. What? I know! And they taste like regular cookies. What prompted me to finally write a review about them is the fact that I just had a puppy chow cookie sandwich (I think is what they called it). It was the best cookie sandwich I've had quite possibly ever! I know they switch up their special cookies regularly and I had never seen that in the display case before - I hope they continue to make that one regularly, I definitely need another one (or more)! One are the folks buying and the others the curious window shoppers. And thats fine coz the "window" looks pretty good! The Carrot Cake/Cupcake. This thing is pure lust. The cake is super moist and the carrot within it still has a nice crunch to it. The cream cheese frosting is so deliciously rich and indulgent that you just want more of it. Its the perfect balance of sweetness so you dont get a sugar rush of sorts. In writing this review, I am just realizing that I failed to take any pictures of these lovelies! Ah well, I will just have to dazzle you with my words instead. We are looking for a bakery to provide cupcakes for our wedding instead of a traditional cake. As this is not a traditional wedding, we can swap out whatever we want, right? Since anything related to a wedding seems to have a surcharge attached to it, I have been ordering cupcakes without telling the bakery that this is our taste test. Also, it ensures that we are getting a true taste test and these aren't specially made ones for the tasting that will be better than the ones we might get on our wedding day. For the purposes of the taste test, there were nine varieties to sample. I can't remember them all, but here are the ones that stood out (good or bad): Chocolate mousse- Fantastic, and I'm not crazy about chocolate cake/cupcakes. Red velvet - Kind of meh, actually. Hard to put our finger on why, but we didn't love 'em. Carrot Cake - Outstanding. And my fiancé doesn't even like carrot cake. Pumpkin Spice - Not just for basic white girls anymore, this one was actually quite tasty. Cookie Butter - Fantastic! Even comes with half of a Biscoff cookie. Salted Caramel Apple - Another winner, the bits of apple are a nice surprise, though I suspect not everyone would be into that. On top of that, the staff at C Adam's was great.
