    Cinnamon roll display

The first time I tried Simply Cinnamon's cinnamon rolls, I purchased them at the local Woodman's. I liked them so much that I looked the company up online and was excited to learn that they were close to my family's home. Since then I've been waiting for a visit to the area to go to the source of the delicious cinnamon rolls. Simply Cinnamon is a small business in a small town. They don't offer tables, so you can't stay to enjoy your treats. It's unlike other bakeries that I've been to, there's no big, shiny glass display case full of goodies. We got the mini cinnamon rolls and they were scrumptious. I also tried an iced brownie and it was delightful. There was a sign for hot ham and rolls and I thought it meant that they offered a breakfast sandwich made up of hot ham on a roll. I was sad to learn that they only sell it by the pound. (You need to buy a pound of the ham and then you get a bag of rolls.) I definitely recommend stopping by Simply Cinnamon Bakery, especially for my fellow cinnamon roll lovers.

Simply Cinnamon catered the desserts at my wedding. The price was beyond reasonable and the cinnamon rolls were delicious!

They have delicious cinnamon rolls. We go there to pick up to-go ones to eat at home. Staff is always friendly.

This shop is such a gem, offering classic bakery staples, delicious macarons, and fun, bakery-themed items. I especially love their "kindness coupons"--such a thoughtful gesture for anyone who could use a little treat. I attended one of their macaron classes, and while I don't know what their kitchen looked like before, it had been fully transformed into a student-friendly workspace with stations set up for each group. After signing in, you're directed to your station and handed an apron. The spots are semi-assigned--if you booked with a friend or a small group, Kasey does a great job placing you together. Everything you need is laid out and ready to go. Kasey walks you through the whole process, checking in along the way and sharing helpful tips she's picked up throughout her macaron-making journey. You and your partner split the batter, but you each get to do your own mixing, choose your colors, and pipe your own shells, which makes it a really hands-on experience. While the macarons are baking, you're treated to sweet bites like brownies or crispy rice treats. Once the macarons have cooled, you fill, package, and--of course--sneak a few tastes along the way. The whole class is so fun, approachable, and well-paced. Afterward, you even get the chance to take home some bakery goodies at a discount! I absolutely love their bakery items, and the class was such a blast. Can't wait to go back!

Date of visit: January 26, 2024…read more Our January version of "Coffee & Kringle" brought us to Batter and Mac in the Falls. A friend had heard that they had gotten some flack from the local Republicans for being pro-LGBT and that was enough for us to go pay them a visit. Staff were wonderful and friendly, even suggesting that I get the Wicked-themed matcha latte with strawberry cold foam, something that I did not think I would necessarily like, but she pushed it hard and you know what? She was right! It was a delicious drink that I may or may not have licked the lid to ensure I got all of the cold foam... My ham and cheese croissant was quite good, though I think it would have been better had it been warmed up. And then I went back for a Scotcheroo and that was fantastic. I had intended to just have a bite that morning and finish it later but there was no way I could do that, I ended up eating the entire thing while we were visiting. Outside of the room temp croissant, the reason for four stars instead of five here is because the bakery gets VERY cold everytime the door opens, I probably should have kept my coat on the whole time we were there. I think one of those ceiling-mounted air units would help mitigate this and get me to stay a bit longer (and order more food!) in the colder months.

A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them featuring Nilla wafers. The surface of this pastry contains a lake of vanilla pudding with sweet cream cheese frosting bordering it like a beach. Three mini-Nilla wafers can be found within the pudding as the finishing touches. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. At first, I wasn't digging the texture of the pudding as I'm used to the whole thing being frosting, but it grew on me with each bite. It's not my favorite variety from Meijer, but it was still delicious. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

I then proceeded to check-out only see that 1 full service lane was open and the self check out had a long line. I was so disgusted that I left my entire shopping cart in the aisle and left. How can a store of this size only have 1 full service checkout lane open when there is 8-9 carts deep? I looked over at the customer service are and there were 3 persons behind the desk, pull one or two out and support the full service check out.. lastly, in most aisles they were restocking shelves at 11 AM, this is what early AM is used for NOT mid morning on a weekend? This is absolutely the last straw! I don't want to hear that staffing was not available, etc. if you are OPEN be OPEN.
