    Macaroons, cookies, cupcakes, yum!
    Amber D.

We stopped in here just to see what was on offer & ended up leaving with a tiny haul of macaroons! The space itself is really cute, I loved that the baked goods were themed to St Patrick's Day. The counter person was really helpful & the only negative thing I have to say is that they don't offer cream for their coffee. We left with 6 macaroons, 2 of each flavor: --Raspberry: The brightness of the raspberries came through & was super tasty. --Pistachio: I love a pistachio flavored anything. The flavor in this cookie was light & very sweet. --Funfetti: This was exactly what you'd expect from a Funfetti cookie; sweet sweet sweet! But very tasty. Each macaroon had a nice fluffy, crisp shell & tasty filling. Highly recommend for any fancy dessert needs!

Went with a friend for the first time yesterday, and we wanted to buy everything, but settled for about half of everything they sold. Loved the Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake, Oreo Cakesicle, Flourless Chocolate Walnut Cookie, and Oreo Macaron Ice Cream sandwich, in particular, but everything we shared was amazing, except we thought the cookie for the Fruity Pebbles cookie was too dense and a bit dry, but the frosting itself was great. I highly recommend visiting Black Twig Bakery soon and often!

First visit to Black Twig was a great one! Having followed their Instagram, it was easy to know what was available on their monthly or brand new menu. Their cute space w/some seating in the back or a loft crow's nest would make it an enjoyable hang. Ordering in person for carryout was easy and Black Twig is handling COVID well, with easy signage for employee assistance if ordering ice cream sandwiches. The Haul: Ice cream sandwiches in Vanilla macaron, Funfetti sugar cookie and Cinnamon Toast Crunch macaron Cookie Dough Cakesicles Macarons for days! Loved the variety and focus on their craft, and everything was delicious and appreciated by the whole family!

Treat yoself! This bakery is a such a sweet delight and a great pick me up. In the heart of the Tosa Village, this is a beautiful place to visit.. They have a good selection of cookies, cupcakes and best of all, ice cream sandwiches. The staff is very friendly and has great suggestions. Definitely give this a try the next time you are in Tosa.

A fun stop! We stopped in here for some dessert - macarons and a cookie - and did not disappoint! The macarons were very fresh and beautiful colors. Flavor was really great as well. Will be back to try more things!

Consider ordering from Black Twig Bakery in Wauwatosa. Im so happy I came across their excellent reviews and decided to try them out for my daughter's bridal shower last week . I also visited a bakery in Cedarburg closer to home but I have to say that Black Twig was unbeatable in price and quality. I ordered lime/strawberry sugar cookies-- generous size 3 1/2", vanilla buttercream and raspberry cupcakes, salted caramel bars, and personalized bridal cookies. Everything was mouth watering!! All the ingredients are of high quality and the lime/raspberry/strawberry buttercream frosting had just the right amount of sweetness. Our salted caramel square bars were cut in half for bite size portions. The cupcakes were very moist and delicious. The staff and owner are very accommodating and answered all of my questions prior to our shower.

This place is modern, clean and delicious! They have a decent selection of goodies and it isn't to overwhelming too pick which is nice. Everything sounded delicious and it was hard to pick! The salted caramel brownie was SO good! Perfect amount of sugar and salt! The cupcake was light, airy and sweet! I would highly recommend this bakery and can't wait to try again soon!

I was first taken here recently on a surprise little trip for a sweet treat and what a treat it was! I hadn't even heard of Black Twig Bakery yet but was delighted to scope it out. Right away, the interior caught my eye--sleek, clean lines, aesthetically pleasing, etc. As I scoped out the tasty treats before me I noticed everything was easily and clearly labeled and their signage board was neat and tidy without an over abundance of clutter. Very nice. And now, the baked goods! My S.O. and I decided to get a few different little somethings to do a taste test--we bought a few macaroons, a chocolate raspberry (?) cupcake, a key lime cookie, and some kind of chocolate brownie with salted caramel. Oh. My. Goodness. First of all, loved the macaroons. -The flavors were unique and the consistency, flavor and taste of the macaroons were well executed. -They key lime cookie was a definite front-runner in the 'cookie game' being that it isn't your everyday cookie. The frosting was whipped, tasty and not overly (or offensively) sweet. So good. -The brownie was beyond decadent! Having taken one little nibble I stowed the rest of my half for when I could pair it with milk. I ate that for an evening dessert and it was deliciously naughty. -The chocolate raspberry cupcake, indeed, took the cake. This was by far one of the best cupcakes I think I've ever had. The chocolate cake was moist and flavorful but what really blew me away was the frosting...holy crap. It was so incredibly light and creamy and whipped without being too sweet or too dense. Also, the flavor was by far amazing! Real, natural, true flavors without tasting like a bunch of sugar. All in all, Black Twig was a home run! Can't wait to try other flavors and delicious bites. You should, too! Nom nom!

Beautiful, delicious cake for a birthday with 3 days notice. I will definitely be going back and have already recommended them to several friends.

Lots of cookie options (macarons, chocolate chip, sugar. Oatmeal, peanut butter, and more)

Delightful bakery in a cool spot dt Tosa. We walked here after having brunch at Cafe Hollander a couple blocks away. I had a sweet tooth and this was the perfect solution! We took home a few macarons and a salted caramel blondie (ugh to die for).

What a cute little new bakery in Tosa village! They were supposed to open up in march but unsurprisingly things got pushed back a bit so they opened mid June instead. Inside is very small although I didn't explore too much and it looked like there might be an upstairs area. There is outside seating set up though which is perfect for the summer and given the pandemic I don't think anyone would be eating inside anyway! I arrived towards the end of the day so it looked like some things were already sold out, but they still had a good variety and everything was beautiful. They have a rotating monthly menu that you can check out in advance on their website including macarons, cookies, cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches. I was tempted by everything but decided to just get a sampling of the macarons for my first visit. It looks like they also sell tea and wine (!!) which I might have considered if I wasn't just grabbing some goods to go. The macarons themselves were very good. I personally loved the brownie batter flavor. The texture was spot on and the flavor was rich and chocolaty. The rest of the flavors were all fruity which - full disclosure- isn't my favorite for desserts but I wanted to try anyway. The texture and colors of these ones were great. They were bright and colorful with the perfect crisp shell. The flavor was still overall good but I found a few of them just overwhelmingly sweet without much of the fruit flavor that I wanted. That said I will definitely come back to try some of the other treats and think its a great addition to Tosa Village.

I love this so much! They have amazing flavors and quality. Their flavors change monthly so be sure to check online. The frozen cookie dough is great as a Christmas gift.

The macarons here are amazing! I am disappointed that I live in the area and didn't realize this bakery gem was here until now. I had some of the macarons at a baby shower and couldn't wait to get some for myself. They have new flavors monthly and the June flavors this month are chefs kiss. I will 100% be getting more before the flavors swap. The blue moon is phenomenal. The space is very nice and the staff was so super friendly and not in a forced or fake way. I can't wait to go back and try so many more things.

This shop is such a gem, offering classic bakery staples, delicious macarons, and fun, bakery-themed items. I especially love their "kindness coupons"--such a thoughtful gesture for anyone who could use a little treat. I attended one of their macaron classes, and while I don't know what their kitchen looked like before, it had been fully transformed into a student-friendly workspace with stations set up for each group. After signing in, you're directed to your station and handed an apron. The spots are semi-assigned--if you booked with a friend or a small group, Kasey does a great job placing you together. Everything you need is laid out and ready to go. Kasey walks you through the whole process, checking in along the way and sharing helpful tips she's picked up throughout her macaron-making journey. You and your partner split the batter, but you each get to do your own mixing, choose your colors, and pipe your own shells, which makes it a really hands-on experience. While the macarons are baking, you're treated to sweet bites like brownies or crispy rice treats. Once the macarons have cooled, you fill, package, and--of course--sneak a few tastes along the way. The whole class is so fun, approachable, and well-paced. Afterward, you even get the chance to take home some bakery goodies at a discount! I absolutely love their bakery items, and the class was such a blast. Can't wait to go back!

A friend had heard that they had gotten some flack from the local Republicans for being pro-LGBT and that was enough for us to go pay them a visit. Staff were wonderful and friendly, even suggesting that I get the Wicked-themed matcha latte with strawberry cold foam, something that I did not think I would necessarily like, but she pushed it hard and you know what? She was right! It was a delicious drink that I may or may not have licked the lid to ensure I got all of the cold foam... My ham and cheese croissant was quite good, though I think it would have been better had it been warmed up. And then I went back for a Scotcheroo and that was fantastic. I had intended to just have a bite that morning and finish it later but there was no way I could do that, I ended up eating the entire thing while we were visiting. Outside of the room temp croissant, the reason for four stars instead of five here is because the bakery gets VERY cold everytime the door opens, I probably should have kept my coat on the whole time we were there. I think one of those ceiling-mounted air units would help mitigate this and get me to stay a bit longer (and order more food!) in the colder months.

Food: They have a large selection of breakfast pastries, including scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, and more. There are also some savory items, such as a rosemary biscuit. It was a tough choice, but when in doubt, I go for a scone, and they had a Maple Cinnamon one. I had it warmed up a bit, and it was delicious. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Even after filling up with customers, the noise level was very good, and easy to have casual conversations. A nice visit and a place I would enjoy coming back to.
