Wine and chocolate pairing
Nina Z.

Had a lovely chocolate and wine pairing tasting at AvinoDos. Not a common combination, but the chocolates surprisingly paired well with the wines! Chocolates & wine pairings: raspberry & Brut Rosé, pineapple & Riesling, cherry & Zinfandel, dark chocolate & Cabernet Sauvignon, and chocolate walnut & Malbec. The winery is located in a more industrial area, but don't let that fool you! What it lacks in nature, it more than makes up for in hospitality. Service was welcoming. We came a bit earlier than scheduled, but staff had us seated right away. We booked the classic tasting, but they upgraded us to the reserve tasting. We ended up getting a bottle of their 2016 Zinfandel (Don't forget to use the Yelp check-in discount!). On top of that, our sommelier gave us a tour of their wine production room. Excellent chocolate-wine pairing and hospitality!

This place is a really nice start to a wine tasting journey! My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday at 12:00 and made sure to call before. We used a priority wine pass for a complementary tasting if their current releases. The services here is wonderful, the man serving us was very friendly, helpful, patient and welcoming. The tastings go one by one with a detailed description of the wine you're about to taste! Comes with a small board of nuts, dried candied fruit and small bottled waters! :)

COVID TIME REVIEW Smaller tasting room in a business park but that doesn't take away from the experience at all. This may be one of my favorite tasting experiences in Napa because the wine is amazing, the sommelier is knowledgeable, and the customer service is amazing. They included a free small charcuterie plate that complemented the wine perfectly! 10/10 would recommend visiting this tasting room, you'll have an awesome time and feel right at home with the friendly staff. (By the way, my favorites were the Malbec and the Zinfandel! I liked em so much I had to buy a bottle of each to bring home) At the time I visited (valentines weekend), the seating was all patio seating with heaters in between each table. Social distancing and masks were required which was very reassuring. Will definitely be back!

We found this place on yelp after we finished our tasting at Trintas. It wasn't busy at all for a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm. A group was leaving when we arrived. We were a bit confused where it was located. It's like in the industrial area. We found out that Avinodos and J. Moss were the same. J. Moss is the winemaker. We picked the Classic Wine tasting $40 and Library Wine tasting $55. Then we added on 2 more wines for $5 each. So we ended up trying all the wines on the menu. We liked the Oak Knoll District Malbec, Oakville Cabernet, and Diamond Mountain Cabernet. Jasmine was our server and she was nice. The wine pours were generous. She even gave us a quick tour in their wine processing room and barrel room. She was informative. They even gave us complimentary dried fruits, dark chocolate, crackers, and nuts platter to go with the wine. Nice touch. They also wipe down the table and seats before we sat down. We brought our own charcuterie and fresh fruits to enjoy too. They don't seem to mind. Easy to park on the street. It's a pretty empty area.

Wine Tasting in Napa Valley, California. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST. EVERYONE SHOULD FEEL WELCOMED!!! Love this winery. Its so unpretentious First time here, I moved from Washington, D.C.

We visited this winery today for the first time and had an awesome time! We had a priority wine pass per person so the tastings were free. Shirah was the sommelier and was absolutely wonderful! We were celebrating our anniversary, so she started us off with a complimentary sparkling tasting. All the wines were exquisite and Shirah spent time explaining every one to us and answering all of our questions. She even brought us a complimentary cheese and charcuterie platter. It was so good!! Dan, the wine maker, came out to greet us and gave us a private tour of the barrel tour. This location was in a business park, so we were hesitant, but the customer service and the personal touch, made this winery worth going to! I would definitely recommend this winery.

Sometimes you read about a 4 or 5 star place on Yelp, but they don't really live up to the hype…read more Crossroad Chicken definitely does! I checked their Facebook to get their location today and took a day trip from Dublin up to Napa. My girlfriend got the Wood Oven Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich. It came on a really good fresh roll (I believe a french roll). The mozzarella was fresh and the chicken was juicy and succulent. It was outstanding! I got the Curried Chicken and Vegetable Sandwich. The chicken curry was perfectly spiced, and again, everything was freshly bought and made. The pomegranate-nectarine chutney on top went perfectly with the sandwich. It's the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Both sandwiches came with a great arugula salad tossed in a white wine dressing. I talked with the 2 guys that run the truck for a bit. They're very friendly, hospitable, and, most importantly, they clearly take a lot of pride in their work. Great value, outstanding cuisine, and hospitable service. You can't miss this if you're in Napa, especially if you're even 1/2 a foodie.

I admit, I thought the food truck was serving wood fired pizzas and was at first disappointed when I saw the menu. However, I soon discovered that the chef here is a culinary expert and uses ingredients from sustainably farmed and local products whenever possible. Having previously worked as a chef at Acacia Winery for many years, he started this food truck business just a few months ago. There is actually a real wood fired oven, and he has the proper insignia on his truck so you know he's legit. I had the Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Meyer Lemon Aioli, Tomatoes, Red Onions, and Greens ($8.95). Definitely your gourmet sandwich. The bread was fresh and the chicken was quite tasty with the aioli and heirloom tomatoes. The heirloom tomatoes were amazing too. Every bite made me wanting more. I also ordered the Rancho Gordo Anasazi Bean Chili w/ chopped red onions and sour cream ($4.95). The Anasazi beans are some kind of heirloom beans. Wow, heirloom beans too? The chili was different than what I'm used to, but good in a way. It had less of a chili flavor, but was still spicy, hearty and bold. This gourmet food truck definitely is worth the stop for all the tasty food items, quality ingredients, and use of local products.

The chimichurri was amazing and it was one of the best empanadas Ive had :) I do wish we got two for the price ($12), but I'm glad I tried it. For my main, I ordered the chilaquiles since I have been craving them. They're not your typical salsa verde chilaquiles, esp w the scrambled egg and lack of salsa verde, but they're still great! I think I prefer a fried egg for my chilaquiles instead of scrambled, but if you are into scrambled eggs and ham, this would be a good option. Overall would come back if I'm in the area! And when it finally did arrive, our food was cold, which was disappointing after waiting that long. The bigger issue came when we paid our tab. Our waiter was able to split the bill into three, which we appreciated. One of my friends offered to cover the tip for the entire table on her portion of the bill. The waiter immediately told us that if she did that, the tip would only apply to the portion of the bill she was paying. I understand where the waiter was coming from, but I don't think the waiter understood what we were trying to do -- my friend was offering to cover the tip for the entire table, not just her portion. As each of us paid, the waiter watched us select our tip amount and repeatedly reminded us that we each needed to leave a tip. I understand wanting to make sure a tip is included, but the way it was handled made the situation feel uncomfortable and pressured. I've been to Gracie's Table multiple times and have always enjoyed coming here, so this was disappointing and definitely not my usual experience. Hopefully this was just a one-off, because I've had much better experiences here in the past.

They did have several nice bottles to choose from, though. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and took great care of our table. We started with the pastry appetizer and the mushroom arancini balls. Both were good, but neither was anything that completely blew us away. My husband and I both ordered the halibut, and it was fantastic. The portions were generous, the fish was incredibly flavorful, and we both absolutely loved it. Everyone else at our table was also very pleased with their meals. The only unpleasant part of the evening was not really the restaurant's fault. The people seated next to us kept putting their small dogs on the table and allowing them to eat off their plates and lick the table. I have dogs and fully support bringing them along to dog-friendly restaurants, but that felt very unsanitary. I do think someone from the restaurant should have asked them to stop, although I'll give the staff the benefit of the doubt that they may not have seen it. Overall, we had a really great experience and would definitely recommend Napkins. I'd give it a solid 4.5 stars!

He told us about the specials and I took him up on the special: shrimp ravioli in lobster sauce. Sadly, it was very bland and lacked the "lobster" flavor in the thick sauce. The drinks were awesome. Totally recommend the drinks: Midnight in Italy and Fume Midnight in Italy was basically a very well served Manhattan. But it was gloriously served. Giant cube ice cube, really lovely rye whiskey and the perfect orange garnish that added to the senses as you sipped Fume arrived in a light fixture like glass box that you open to retrieve your drink. It's filled with smoke to add to the drink's experience. My hands smelled like smoke hours after the dinner. The drink was tasty. The grilled pineapple was tasty. But it was more showy than tasty. Baker brie was insanely delish. It was the best baked Brie I had. Perfectly balanced with the honey and pistachio. The iceberg wedge salad was as you would've expected. Decent sized Maybe we didn't ordered the dishes that they were most popular for so I was disappointed. Will have to come back and try another round. Especially for the drinks.

When it was time to serve dinner, we were led into a private dining room. It was a bit loud. Not the best acoustics, but a beautiful room. The staff were very attentive. It was a slow meandering meal. Our menu was pre-selected and the food came in courses and served family style. What really impressed me was how they accommodated allergies. I'm allergic to dairy and don't do well with gluten. Another person in our group was vegan and gluten free. I was able to eat almost everything on the menu. That is to say, the majority of the dishes, if they had gluten or dairy, they brought me me own plate with a safe version for me. I was blown away. A lot of places will give you a lesser alternative, but for the most part, they really made the same dishes, just allergy friendly. It was delicious. Often at dinners like this, in fancy restaurants, when it comes time for dessert, I will be offered either a plate of cut fruit or a sad bowl of not very good sorbet. Not here. One of the desserts was this amazing chocolate cake coated in chocolate with a raspberry filling. It was what they served everyone and it was gluten free and dairy free. I about fainted. They also served a dairy free chocolate gelato that was delicious. It had something interesting in it, maybe lavender? We couldn't quite place it. But it was wonderful. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to others. I have never seen a restaurant in Napa step up to the plate like this when it comes to accommodating food allergies. Way to go Farm! I hope to come back again soon.

We then ordered our food, and this is where the evening fell a bit short for me. While the rest of our group ordered the burger, I opted for the steak frites. Everyone else raved about their meal, and the burgers did look amazing. Sadly, my steak was not. The meat was extremely fatty, full of gristle, and pretty bland. I considered sending it back, but as the rest of the group were enjoying their food, I chose to say nothing. Overall, I'd consider giving the place another try, as the rest of the night was great. For atmosphere, drinks and my table's burgers, FARM scored 4 stars. My steak frites dinner was barely 2 stars, and a disappointing piece of an otherwise good experience.
