    Wine and chocolate pairing
    Nina Z.

Had a lovely chocolate and wine pairing tasting at AvinoDos. Not a common combination, but the chocolates surprisingly paired well with the wines! Chocolates & wine pairings: raspberry & Brut Rosé, pineapple & Riesling, cherry & Zinfandel, dark chocolate & Cabernet Sauvignon, and chocolate walnut & Malbec. The winery is located in a more industrial area, but don't let that fool you! What it lacks in nature, it more than makes up for in hospitality. Service was welcoming. We came a bit earlier than scheduled, but staff had us seated right away. We booked the classic tasting, but they upgraded us to the reserve tasting. We ended up getting a bottle of their 2016 Zinfandel (Don't forget to use the Yelp check-in discount!). On top of that, our sommelier gave us a tour of their wine production room. Excellent chocolate-wine pairing and hospitality!

This place is a really nice start to a wine tasting journey! My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday at 12:00 and made sure to call before. We used a priority wine pass for a complementary tasting if their current releases. The services here is wonderful, the man serving us was very friendly, helpful, patient and welcoming. The tastings go one by one with a detailed description of the wine you're about to taste! Comes with a small board of nuts, dried candied fruit and small bottled waters! :)

COVID TIME REVIEW Smaller tasting room in a business park but that doesn't take away from the experience at all. This may be one of my favorite tasting experiences in Napa because the wine is amazing, the sommelier is knowledgeable, and the customer service is amazing. They included a free small charcuterie plate that complemented the wine perfectly! 10/10 would recommend visiting this tasting room, you'll have an awesome time and feel right at home with the friendly staff. (By the way, my favorites were the Malbec and the Zinfandel! I liked em so much I had to buy a bottle of each to bring home) At the time I visited (valentines weekend), the seating was all patio seating with heaters in between each table. Social distancing and masks were required which was very reassuring. Will definitely be back!

We found this place on yelp after we finished our tasting at Trintas. It wasn't busy at all for a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm. A group was leaving when we arrived. We were a bit confused where it was located. It's like in the industrial area. We found out that Avinodos and J. Moss were the same. J. Moss is the winemaker. We picked the Classic Wine tasting $40 and Library Wine tasting $55. Then we added on 2 more wines for $5 each. So we ended up trying all the wines on the menu. We liked the Oak Knoll District Malbec, Oakville Cabernet, and Diamond Mountain Cabernet. Jasmine was our server and she was nice. The wine pours were generous. She even gave us a quick tour in their wine processing room and barrel room. She was informative. They even gave us complimentary dried fruits, dark chocolate, crackers, and nuts platter to go with the wine. Nice touch. They also wipe down the table and seats before we sat down. We brought our own charcuterie and fresh fruits to enjoy too. They don't seem to mind. Easy to park on the street. It's a pretty empty area.

We visited this winery today for the first time and had an awesome time! We had a priority wine pass per person so the tastings were free. Shirah was the sommelier and was absolutely wonderful! We were celebrating our anniversary, so she started us off with a complimentary sparkling tasting. All the wines were exquisite and Shirah spent time explaining every one to us and answering all of our questions. She even brought us a complimentary cheese and charcuterie platter. It was so good!! Dan, the wine maker, came out to greet us and gave us a private tour of the barrel tour. This location was in a business park, so we were hesitant, but the customer service and the personal touch, made this winery worth going to! I would definitely recommend this winery.

The chicken curry was perfectly spiced, and again, everything was freshly bought and made. The pomegranate-nectarine chutney on top went perfectly with the sandwich. It's the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Both sandwiches came with a great arugula salad tossed in a white wine dressing. I talked with the 2 guys that run the truck for a bit. Some mishaps have happened with service on prior visits but management and servers are always concerned and make it right. That's why I keep coming back. I Popped in Thursday afternoon for Pho. It was not busy only two other couples eating when we arrived. We sat at our usual table And noted service was a bit slow right off the bat. When I received my Pho, which I thought was a longer wait than usual, it was luke warm if that. The Korean ribs and chicken wings arrived temperature appropriate. I pushed my soup aside but no one checked back until my lunch mate finished. When the waiter came to clear the table I asked for a to go and thought he would ask if there was anything wrong. He did not so I told him the Pho was served luke warm so I did not eat it and that no one had checked back or even passed by us or I would have sent it back to heat it up. We were done now so I'd just take it to go. Our waiter apologized and when he brought the bill said The Pho was comped and apologized again for the breakdown in service. When I dine I like to relax and enjoy a meal With who I came with. So receiving temperature appropriate food is important. The KD does a good job. They have a diverse menu with flavorful food and great cocktails. When there is a hiccup in service or the food there is a genuine concern. Sometimes it's caught by them and others it's brought to their attention. It's how things are dealt with when those mishaps happen. The KD addresses your concerns with sincerity and want their diner to have an all around great experience. If you have not been give KD a try when in downtown Napa.

Not bad - not good - just different . We waited 10 full minutes before someone came over and brought two small waters which is ok- and then left - at least he said hi. Our waitress then showed up and didn't say her name - and asked us if we were ready - and then we ordered - I was in mid sentence and looking down and then swoop - the menu was gone - I guess I didn't want to add to my order- Our food came out and the Calimari was good, a decent portion, a bit salty - but - it was good . Then came our food - I got the short ribs - I will say it was really good and the meat just shredded nicely ....it was exceptional actually. Nice touches adorn the restaurant throughout. The menu has a lot of wonderful options. The service, provided by Alex, was excellent. We started with the Dungeness Crab arancini, which are probably the best thing we ate all evening, and that's saying a lot because everything we had was great. These arancini are perfectly fried crab meat rolled into a ball served over a delicious tartar sauce. I wish I had 3 orders of this, at least. We ordered the soup of the day and their bread service. The soup was a white bean and sausage and it was perfectly salty and fatty. The bread and butter was a perfect accompaniment. The Carpe Diem salad was also really special. It had these Cabernet soaked dried cranberries that were so good and tart. For an entree, we ordered the short ribs which come over a risotto. It felt a little heavy, and maybe the sauce could've used a little acid to cut the heaviness. It was still really delicious though. For dessert, we had the espresso crème brûlée. This was just the icing on the cake of a great meal. I love Carpe Diem and hope to come back soon!

The shop definitely lives up to its name--vintage, small, and cozy. They have a variety of sweets, especially chocolates, on display. They also have other specialty items and pairings. My family got their desserts and enjoyed them. I recommend coming for their chocolates, and I'd be interested in their pairing. Vintage Sweet Shoppe off Main Street is a cute and popular spot for tourists and locals alike. There's free parking in the lot shared with the row of shops.
