We arrived here for our Monday afternoon VIP wine tasting appointment at the main building. We were directed to get back in our car and drive to the rear of the property where the wine club is. Coming into the club tasting room, we ran into our hostess Jo, who happily sampled out the wines to us while enjoying some shade on the outdoor patio. I was not surprised to see all the wine served in Riedel glasses, but even the water glasses are Riedel. Right next to the outdoor patio is a garden of herbs, flowers, tomatoes, corn, squash, and the like. We did get a small charcuterie board which we gobbled up by the third sample. I have to admit there's nothing like trying wines that you will not see in the retail market. The photos below should make you jealous enough to come here.

Reserved this for my husbands birthday and it turned out to be the highlight of the weekend. We had the most amazing personalized wine and food pairing experience on our visit capped off with a tour of the cellar with the most incredible authentic knowledgeable host Dean! From the start we knew we were in a for treat with his wonderful personality and wealth of knowledge. We walked away learning so much and having the best experience. Highly recommend. Reasonably priced given what you get in return!

This family-owned winery put intention and history into their tour experience. You are given insight into their fermentation and processing, walk through the beautiful grounds, and taste five delightful pours. Their mountain Cabernet is out of this world. Complex, with a little pucker at the end. Recommend!

The experience here at cakebread cellars was educational and wines were definitely with great value. I enjoyed the tour and our wine connoisseur was knowledgeable and humorous.

We adore this cellar and all the delicious wines they make. The service and all staff are gracious and really make you feel special Larry, was great , nice pours You can walk in , however we suggest you make a Rez The wines are all delicious. My favorite is their Chardonnay. The grounds are stunning and the history is very interesting

Beautiful winery with manicured grounds and modern buildings. The tasting included a walk along the vines, their garden and fermentation rooms. We stopped along the way for our pours in different locations. That was nice. I liked that better than just a seated tasting. The wine tasting and tour was $65 pp and felt reasonable given the generous pours and educational aspect. You are in a group but it was nice to meet people from all over.

My husband and I did the classic tour and tasting of Cakebread Cellars last weekend and it was a delight! As soon as we arrived, we were given a splash of their sauvignon blanc, which was light and crisp. Jane did a great job at setting the stage for Cakebread's beginnings and how it's continued through the present time. She also did a great job at talking about each wine we tried! I thought it was really cool to see the "egg" wine vessels that Cakebread uses. I've read about them but never seen one. I also love the effect that aging the wine in that vessel has on the wine itself. It put a really cool finish on the wine we tried that had some time in one of them! The wines we tried were all so delicious. We bought one of their cabernets to take to our dinner at Cole's Chop House and it paired so well with our steaks! The property is so pretty and I'd love to explore it more one day. We definitely had a lovely time at Cakebread!

We visited Cakebread with a few friends who were in town, and were excited to potentially join the wine club since we had tried some of their wines in a restaurant before and really loved them. We opted for the Cakebread Classic Tour ($50 per person). The tour itself was great. Really friendly guide and tasty wines. However, our experience turned negative by the end. I mentioned to our guide that I wanted to take a walk around the outside of the winery, and he said it was only allowed if accompanied by a chaperone. What's the point of visiting a winery or joining a wine club, if you can't even enjoy it fully? Then, while sitting on a bench in front of the winery, we were abruptly approached by a staff member at 3:55. He told us to leave immediately since they close at 4 PM. It was very harsh and unpleasant. Really left all of us with a bad impression. Overall, not worth the $200 we spent, and will definitely not be joining the club - very snobby and strict

Cakebread's Meyer Lemon Marmalade Recipe!

I've visited Cakebread a few times now, and every experience has been amazing. As a member now, it's such a treat to bring friends or family along and enjoy the complimentary member tastings. On our most recent visit, our group of four was seated comfortably on their gorgeous terrace. While the wines were fantastic (the 2018 Benchland Cabernet was my personal favorite), the real star of the show was their homemade Meyer lemon marmalade. Served atop creamy goat cheese and toasted crisps, it was absolutely delicious. Laura, our wine hostess, was amazing--warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the wines. She even went above and beyond by sharing a copy of their marmalade recipe with us, which was such a thoughtful touch. I couldn't have picked a better place to introduce my friends to wine tasting for the first time. Cakebread not only delivers incredible wine but also a level of hospitality that keeps you coming back.

If I'm honest, this was such a beautiful tour! The employees were not only super knowledgeable and genuinely happy to be at work. The wine speaks for itself with the taste, it shows how much ambiance/space creates a beautiful wine. Sara our guide was funny, sweet and just made everything great. (Shout out to her) Book and enjoy Will come back!

Wow. What an unforgettable experience at PEJU, especially with the VIP treatment my friends and I…read morereceived from Todd Elliott, AKA to me as wine educator and sommelier extraordinaire! I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I have NEVER enjoyed red wines like these I tasted at PEJU. Since the time of our outstanding wine tasting experience, I have recommended and raved about Todd and PEJU winery to friends and family who appreciate and value high quality wines and winery experiences. It felt like a vacation getaway being in the tasting room building, admiring the breathtaking stained glass art, all of the art inside and the beautiful art and nature views outside. I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. This is the kind of treatment that makes us want to return. Napa is a special place for friends, family, and me, and PEJU is now an indelible memory in my Napa adventures! Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! Todd went above and beyond to give us a VIP experience and even gave me a bag full of wine corks for my art project after I told him about this and asked for some of their wine corks we saw lined up in their wine uncorking and pouring area. Thank you, Todd!

The grounds are gorgeous inside and out, and I really enjoyed the stained glass, large open windows, and the statues and the koi pond area outside. The service was extraordinary, and I had a great time learning a bit about the different wines PEJU offers from Joseph. I tried quite a few different wines, and really liked how there are a few unique offerings here that you can't find elsewhere - I ended up getting a bottle of their Province, the Farm, and their late harvest orange muscat. PEJU is also one of the few wineries with a permit to serve food. If I had known ahead of time, I would've planned to eat here! The rilettes were super tempting, but Joseph advised that if I was planning to eat a meal afterward to stick to the chips and dip - this ended up being quite a generous portion as well, and I really enjoyed the goat cheese truffle dip alongside the wine tasting :) Overall, PEJU is definitely a beautiful winery to visit with excellent service, and I'll definitely be back!

While working in St. Helena, I could never find an opening in a reservation, so here was a great opportunity now that all of us are retired. Our friends live in Clear Lake while we live in Vallejo, so this is a central place to meet. It was the best decision I made because every year for the past several anniversaries, we've gone to Cache Creek to C2. Their food and service is excellent because my husband enjoys poker, but I thought a change of scenery would be nice. And it was! Firstly, it was very kind of the staff to present us with a greeting card signed by everyone -- how sweet and thoughtful! We will cherish that! Secondly, we were very impressed with how the food/wine was locally sourced. It was incredible to hear the story about Custom, the Bull, and taste the difference between the Highland beef compared to Angus. Our waitress was "Erica S." She was engaging, personable, and very informative. My husband and I would definitely like to return to return to experience the dinner menu! We and our guests had the following dishes: Artichoke appetizer Arbororio Biscuits & Gravy Two Cheeseburgers Three Bloody Mary's Farmstead Margarita When they found out it was our anniversary celebration, the house sent over four glasses of complimentary champagne and a dish of dessert -- again, very sweet and kind of them I now understand why so many crowds flock to this restaurant! It's well worth the wait! If you have not experienced a meal there, you must definitely go now!

From the beginning, there seemed to be constant miscommunication between staff. We specifically booked an outdoor reservation and were seated inside instead. While mistakes happen, it set the tone for the rest of the evening. The bigger issue involved the wine and corkage fee. We purchased a bottle directly from the market associated with the restaurant and were told by the employee there that the corkage fee would be waived if we bought their wine. When we sat down, our server Sara told us that was not true and that we would still have to pay the fee. I explained what we had been told, and when she asked if I wanted a manager involved, I said yes. Before the manager even arrived or clarified the situation, the server opened our bottle of wine. In the silence and confusion, I reasonably assumed the fee issue had been resolved. Then the manager came over and told us we would still be charged and implied that nobody at the market would have told us otherwise. The way it was handled made my husband and I feel like we were being accused of making the whole thing up, which was especially upsetting on Mother's Day. At that point, the bottle was already opened, so we were essentially stuck paying the fee regardless. Between being seated incorrectly, the poor communication between employees, and how dismissive the situation felt, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a special meal. The rest of the service we felt ignored and there was minimal effort to accommodate. Great food alone is not enough to justify returning when the hospitality experience feels this frustrating and unprofessional.

They've only been there for a year I believe, but from the outside to the inside, everything is purposely selected and placed. And the bathroom! Yes you read that right, the bathroom is impressive. Probably what stuck out to me the most was the wine glasses used for the flight tasting. These glasses are exquisite. While I don't remember the exact dollar figure, they use German glassware that was 100 a pop, and each glass was selected based on enhancing which wine was being tasted. The first glass on the left was what we started with, which was a white, and as you go toward the right you transition into the bulbous fishbowl type glassware typically used to drink reds. The flight tasting was 75 which is pricey, and their flagship red is quite expensive in my opinion. However, you like what you like and if you enjoy it then it's meant for you.
