I am so happy I decided to book a reservation at Caymus Vineyards. I have tried their wines back home and so when looking for where to go in Napa, I decided on this location. As with all the vineyards, the scenery is beautiful. However, this location also has an elevated elegance, which was just a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. Our server was amazing as she explained the history behind the location and the family who created the wines. All of the wines were absolutely delicious. This was one of the few places that I actually took a bottle home from. The barrel room is beautiful. We sat outside and the ambience was just amazing. Definitely recommend this is one of your stops when visiting Napa.

Spent a beautiful morning at Caymus for tasting. Michel was our guide and was so knowledgeable and kind. We are not wine connoisseurs, but he explained the history and each wine so well. Beautiful and clean venue.

Lots of people visiting the showroom on a Saturday, even in mid January. No appts available same day for a tour but the bar was open. Sat down and tried a sparkling wine. Light and tasty. Don't expect the bartender to know the answers to your wine tour questions but he will pour you all the splashes you want before committing to a full glass.

We stopped by Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford after visiting their Suisun location and were really glad we did! The property is absolutely beautiful. There's plenty of parking and both indoor and outdoor tasting areas, which gives you some nice flexibility depending on the weather. We didn't have a reservation, but that wasn't an issue. We went to the bar area, ordered a couple of glasses and found a cozy spot inside to enjoy them. The pours were generous, and the wine was delicious. It's a great option if you're just passing through and want to take in the grounds without committing to a full tasting. Bonus points for the free water available--it's a small touch, but appreciated. I'm definitely planning to come back for a full tasting experience next time. Highly recommend stopping by, even just for a glass!

Review for Caymus - Rutherford Location I'm still in disbelief at how disappointing our experience was at this location. Our original reservation was for the Suisun location, but due to a fire there, our tasting was moved to Rutherford. We didn't anticipate how much farther this drive would be compared to Suisun City, which forced us to rearrange our entire day -- including our other vineyard tastings and lunch plans -- to the Rutherford/St. Helena area. On top of that, heavy traffic and an accident caused a 30-minute delay. Out of courtesy, I called ahead to let them know, and the woman I spoke to assured me it would be fine and that our tasting would simply be shortened. I appreciated that understanding -- until we arrived. Upon walking in (yes, 30 minutes late as discussed), the hostess coldly informed us that our reservation had been cancelled. She showed zero empathy, didn't care what I explained, and offered no alternatives. She simply said, "Sorry, too bad," and suggested we go buy wine at the bar instead. At a place like Caymus, I expected at least an attempt to accommodate us or reschedule. The dismissiveness was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at a winery. The only reason I'm leaving two stars instead of one is for the bartender, who treated us kindly and with respect. Otherwise, we would never consider returning to this location, nor would we recommend it to others. Extremely disappointing.

Took my extended family here for a wine tasting and our sommelier Steve was great! He gave us some background stories on the Wagner family and the different wines. My mom bought a case and we did too. Everyone truly enjoyed the experience and can't wait to be back. Loved that that our wine fees were waived due to us coming there for a special occasion and also because we bought wines.

The property is gorgeous and so well taken care of. The outdoor tasting area is super peaceful and a great place to just relax and enjoy the view. Elizabeth gave us an amazing wine tasting experience. She really knows her stuff and was so fun to talk to - friendly, down-to-earth, and full of great info about the wines. It felt like we were just hanging out with a friend who happens to be a wine expert. The Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc was definitely my favorite. It is crisp, refreshing, and so easy to drink. Highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for great wine in a beautiful setting with awesome people

Such a wonderful experience. I made reservations in advance for a party of 18. Everything was handled wonderfully. We had outdoor seating in a private corner outside. We enjoyed the wines that were served and half of my group ended up making purchases. Our host even gave us an extra pout because it was my sister's birthday. The only thing that would make the experience better was if they were licensed to serve light food. Even just cheese and crackers would be great. But I understand that's not part of every winery's business model. Overall a great experience.

While in Napa we knew we had to visit Caymus Vineyards because they are a favorite of ours when back home. Arriving on their property we were welcomed with gorgeous views and greenery with the most beautiful flowers! It's a chic modern vinery that fits the Caymus vibes. We each grabbed a glass of wine from the bar and then explored the property that has a maze made of greenery with adorable sitting areas to enjoy your wine. We loved everything and are glad we made sure to stop in!

If there's one vineyard you need to go to it's Caymus. Of course, one of the best vineyards around and has a great name, but there's more to it It was the only vineyard that didn't not pressure you into buying wine or joining a wine club And as long as you bought a bottle, your tasting was at no charge, which was not the case we had as many. Bill our wine expert was more than just a person who explained Caymus and wine making to us, but he explained the history surrounding the area and how different areas started. All in all it was very informative about the history dating back 100 years on how things started. And of course he had a bunch of stories of the original owners that he shared with us

Had a great wine tasting there. The customer service was top tier, we were able to get all of our questions answered and enjoy the testing with just the rsvp group that we came with. The landscaping and.different nooks are absolutely gorgeous. Very IG worthy pics!

I've always wanted to visit Caymus for a tasting, as it's one of my favorite wines. It took six visits to Napa Valley to finally make an appointment, and I'm glad the winery was able to accommodate me and my boyfriend. The tasting room is on the ground with a beautiful garden. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by their friendly staff and taken to a tasting area where rows of wine barrels lined up. We got to taste five different wines from the Caymus family, and the staff shared the history of each wine. Our favorites were their 50th anniversary Cabernet and Zinfandel, so we decided to ship some home. I'm so glad we had an opportunity to visit and taste Caymus wines, and we will be back.

Do you need to have a reservation to buy wine by the glass?

No, you do not need a reservation to enjoy a glass of wine. Our wines by the glass are available every day from 9:30 to 4:30.

Do they offer any appetizers to purchase along with the wine tastings? If not do they allow you to bring charcuterie?

As far as I'm aware they only have the one tasting at a bargain price of $50. I have never seen a charcuterie board being available. It really would be fun if they would have a reserve library tasting with food as an add on purchase.

Since my friend and I are doing multiple vineyards. Is it possible we share tastings?

I imagine they would let you, almost all the wineries I've been too they will let you share.

    How long is the tasting?

The normal tasting time is around 1hr from start to finish. It is pricey wine as stated by others. But if you are looking for one of the valley's best Cabs this is a place you. Also when going to Caymus I would plan on taking my time, the… Read more

How much are bottles of wine?

The bottles of wine wont be any cheaper than if you were to buy them from a liquor store.

I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I have NEVER enjoyed red wines like these I tasted at PEJU. Since the time of our outstanding wine tasting experience, I have recommended and raved about Todd and PEJU winery to friends and family who appreciate and value high quality wines and winery experiences. It felt like a vacation getaway being in the tasting room building, admiring the breathtaking stained glass art, all of the art inside and the beautiful art and nature views outside. I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. This is the kind of treatment that makes us want to return. Napa is a special place for friends, family, and me, and PEJU is now an indelible memory in my Napa adventures! Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! Todd went above and beyond to give us a VIP experience and even gave me a bag full of wine corks for my art project after I told him about this and asked for some of their wine corks we saw lined up in their wine uncorking and pouring area. The service was extraordinary, and I had a great time learning a bit about the different wines PEJU offers from Joseph. I tried quite a few different wines, and really liked how there are a few unique offerings here that you can't find elsewhere - I ended up getting a bottle of their Province, the Farm, and their late harvest orange muscat. PEJU is also one of the few wineries with a permit to serve food. If I had known ahead of time, I would've planned to eat here! The rilettes were super tempting, but Joseph advised that if I was planning to eat a meal afterward to stick to the chips and dip - this ended up being quite a generous portion as well, and I really enjoyed the goat cheese truffle dip alongside the wine tasting :) Overall, PEJU is definitely a beautiful winery to visit with excellent service, and I'll definitely be back!

While working in St. Helena, I could never find an opening in a reservation, so here was a great opportunity now that all of us are retired. Our friends live in Clear Lake while we live in Vallejo, so this is a central place to meet. It was the best decision I made because every year for the past several anniversaries, we've gone to Cache Creek to C2. Their food and service is excellent because my husband enjoys poker, but I thought a change of scenery would be nice. And it was! Firstly, it was very kind of the staff to present us with a greeting card signed by everyone -- how sweet and thoughtful! We will cherish that! Secondly, we were very impressed with how the food/wine was locally sourced. It was incredible to hear the story about Custom, the Bull, and taste the difference between the Highland beef compared to Angus. Our waitress was "Erica S." She was engaging, personable, and very informative. My husband and I would definitely like to return to return to experience the dinner menu! We and our guests had the following dishes: Artichoke appetizer Arbororio Biscuits & Gravy Two Cheeseburgers Three Bloody Mary's Farmstead Margarita When they found out it was our anniversary celebration, the house sent over four glasses of complimentary champagne and a dish of dessert -- again, very sweet and kind of them I now understand why so many crowds flock to this restaurant! From the beginning, there seemed to be constant miscommunication between staff. We specifically booked an outdoor reservation and were seated inside instead. While mistakes happen, it set the tone for the rest of the evening. The bigger issue involved the wine and corkage fee. We purchased a bottle directly from the market associated with the restaurant and were told by the employee there that the corkage fee would be waived if we bought their wine. When we sat down, our server Sara told us that was not true and that we would still have to pay the fee. I explained what we had been told, and when she asked if I wanted a manager involved, I said yes. Before the manager even arrived or clarified the situation, the server opened our bottle of wine. In the silence and confusion, I reasonably assumed the fee issue had been resolved. Then the manager came over and told us we would still be charged and implied that nobody at the market would have told us otherwise. The way it was handled made my husband and I feel like we were being accused of making the whole thing up, which was especially upsetting on Mother's Day. At that point, the bottle was already opened, so we were essentially stuck paying the fee regardless. Between being seated incorrectly, the poor communication between employees, and how dismissive the situation felt, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a special meal. The rest of the service we felt ignored and there was minimal effort to accommodate. Great food alone is not enough to justify returning when the hospitality experience feels this frustrating and unprofessional.
