Very cozy area but doesn't feel crowded and it was nicely shaded so you didn't have to worry about burning in the sun. It's dog friendly too. Was helped by John who I loooooooved. Told him I wanted to get trashed and he was fully supportive. We did the wine and bites which came with 4 reds & small bites. All wines and food options were great. Wines were great quality. One of my favorite wineries in all of Napa, and the only one where we've held onto our membership for years. Easy to find, beautiful from the road in, and exactly what you picture when you think Napa. The whites and reds are all worth trying. Each one tastes distinct, and the flagship bottles run $44 to $125, so not cheap, but fair for wines this good. Membership is the real draw. Members get full tastings plus a food menu for themselves and two guests, which we lean on every time we pick up wine. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of tables across the property, including quiet, secluded spots for a real conversation. The member experience runs about 1.5 hours, which is plenty. The food held up too. Tomato arancini with basil aioli, bruschetta, roasted olives, marcona almonds, hummus with crispy pita, sourdough with oil and balsamic. The arancini was the best bite of the spread, crisp outside, creamy in the middle, with the basil aioli pulling it together. Staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful on every visit. A few notes: tastings cap around 6 to 8 per party, specialty experiences like the Cambium vertical are discounted for members rather than free, and your membership carries over to their sister property, St. Francis in Sonoma. My husband and I went to Sequoia Grove for a wine and food pairing called, "A Taste of Cabernet." The wines were ok but the food was great!! We were with 8 other people in a large room. Chef Jesus was very fun and energetic and would come out and explain all about the food and another person would talk about the wines. It was a very casual and fun vibe. My husband and I had a great experience here. What made it exceptional was the wonderful service provided by Major. He was funny and engaging throughout the entire time, giving us a thorough history of the wines. Our food bites were tasty as well, and were a nice addition to our wine tasting. We ended up purchasing two wine bottles from our tasting selection - Cabernet Franc and Cambium. Major also gave special attention to our golden retriever, Rex, which made us happy. We stopped in here for our scheduled wine tasting on a Monday morning and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Parking can be a little tight on a busy day due to the small lot, but there are some EV charging stations. They do make four whites, one Sauvignon Blanc, and three different Chardonnay's. We started with their whites before moving on to the Napa Merlot, and Malbec and then on to their Cabernets. If you really want to enjoy the Cabernet experience, for $175 you can sit in the Cambium room where you will get a food pairing along with the wine. From the moment we arrived, our host Niki set the tone with a warm welcome and deep knowledge of the best vintages. She guided us through a flight that showcased the winery's Napa roots, including a beautifully structured 2019 Cab Franc and their elegant 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. We enjoyed the nuanced 2016 Lamoreaux Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and a well balanced 2018 Henry Brothers blend of Cabernet and Merlot. Niki's insights and all the delicious bites from the Sequoia Grove kitchen, including homemade focaccia with green garlic olive oil and a whipped caramelized shallot dip, helped us appreciate winemaker Jesse Fox's expert craftsmanship. Like most, I remain a disloyal wine club member. I add and drop these non-exclusive relationships on a whim and it says something if I'm holding onto one. I've not held onto my Sequoia Grove wine club membership very long so far but as yet, they've also done everything needed to keep me enrolled and nothing that would cause me to look elsewhere. First, let's just say it: the wines. I prefer red wines and Sequoia Grove's are exquisite. I recently opened two bottles at home, with guests, and over the next few days they opened two other wines that they'd brought from elsewhere. There was no comparison and everyone knew it. Next is the offering. As a member of their wine club, Sequoia Grove offers guests complementary tastings for 4 people at a time, accompanied by a picture-perfect array of accompanying bites. I won't say that these comprise a meal, but they go a long way towards getting one from lunch to dinner while imbibing. They are equally beautiful and delicious. I defy your guests to be anything but wowed by the presentation. Finally, there is the winery itself, where tastings may take place inside or outside. If outside, in a covered setting, one is surrounded by majestic Sequoias, naturally, a whole grove of them. The name didn't come from nowhere. So far, I've been to Sequoia Grove Winery 3 times and each has been a really great experience. They talk wine here, during the tastings, but seem well-able to regulate to the level of wine-speak that guests desire. A friend had recommended visiting here prior to a planned trip. Make a reservation. Like most places in the region, reservations are needed to experience their wines. I got us scheduled and it was well worth it. Mark was our host. He got us started with a taste of their Chardonnay. This was refreshing and delicious. Our tasting then consisted of their wonderful reds. 2018 Napa Valley Malbec which was made with 100% Malbec grapes. My personal favorite, 2019 Rutherford Bench Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The last two we tried were 2019 Tonella Vineyard Cabernet and 2019 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Mark answered all our many, many questions. I think my husband had 2-3 more every time he checked on us. He showed us a topographical map of the valley which was fascinating. The land there is perfectly situated for growing grapes. This is a worthy stop for both the wines and the grounds. There is a fairy ring of sequoia trees in front of the building. Just beautiful. read more

We had the reservation here for Wines and Bites at 11 am. We were running late that I made a call but we arrived at 11:10 am. When we checked in, we were handed glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. Actually this was my 2nd visit at this winery. The first time I was with my friends in April. My friends are good influencers that I joined as a wine club member so I can take our relatives from Italy. Susan was our sommelier. She handed us the menu for our wine tasting for the day. She asked us where we were from. Our relative & fiancé are from Italy. Susan started talking about the Italian places. She was a pleasant lady and even offered to take our pictures between the beautiful sequoia grove and redwood trees. The atmosphere was gorgeous, quiet & relaxing among the sequoias. As we were tasting our wine, she came with a big tray of bites served in bowls. Delicious pretzels, truffles popcorns, meatballs, focaccia bread, & shallot dip. On the menu, Susan served us the Merlot & Malbec. We asked if there was any rose and white wine. We said she can replace the other red wines. She said she can just add the Rose Grenache & Sauvignon Blanc to taste and she did. We continued tasting the other Cabernet Sauvignon. I got my 2nd shipment today. My daughter & niece got Rose of Grenache & I got myself the Sauvignon Blanc. On the way out, Susan showed us the big table where it occupies 8 people as I am returning with friends next month. She took more photos of us in the vineyard and the name of the winery. Can't wait to come back. read more

Having been here at least 5 times now I can wholeheartedly admit I like everything about Sequioa Grove Winery. The wines are stellar. The setting is lovely (especially when seated outdoors, under the Redwoods). And the "bites" offered at no extra charge to wine club members at all levels are simply delicious, the proverbial icing on the cake. I have every belief that I'll be back here at least 5 more times in the next 6 months which pretty much says everything one should need to know about the place. read more

We here for tasting on a weekend, and were able to get a reservation for this on short notice. Had called in just a day earlier. The place does have the vibe of a cabin. On arrival we were seated in the patio area surrounded by the sequoia trees. It was really great day to be seated outside. Gary was an amazing host and he walked us through the different wines we were tasting. He did a cheese and lemon experiment while tasting one of the wines , and we were blown away by how drastically a food pairing changes the taste of a wine. Overall, we had a decent time at Sequoia Grove, but it isn't our favorite Napa winery. Sequoia has some affordable tasting options, which could be great depending on what you're looking for. The estate itself doesn't have the grandeur of some of the other estates we've been to. When you first arrive at Sequoia Grove, the entrance to the property looks more like a small cabin in the woods vs. a sprawling Napa wine estate you'll see at other places. Upon entering, there are some clothing racks and merchandise available for sale. We were greeted and taken out to the patio for our tasting. They have a small patio area with some tables and couches for seating. Service was friendly, albeit a bit brusque. There were a few other parties there at the same time, and since the space isn't very large, it felt rather packed. We finished our tasting within 30 minutes, which we felt was pretty quick. Our server did try to sell us a bit but nothing over the top. read more

We visited here on 10/30/25 and we did the wine and food pairing. There was a small but very nice little tour just before we were seated. The trees are beautiful and it's a very nice winery. The room we were seated in was very pretty. We are cab drinkers and while I didn't notice a strong variation of each one, they were all very delightful. They add an interesting element right at the beginning of the tasting that was very educational and fun. Our host, I believe his name was Tyler, was really fun and did a great job. Now for the food, the food was absolutely exquisite. It paired perfectly with the wine and the chef, I believe his name was Luke, would come out and talk to us. Not only was he very nice and enjoyable, but he is an AMAZING Chef! I am still dreaming about the dishes he prepared for us. 10/10 would recommend this experience to everyone. I was here several years ago for a culinary challenge, and Dean was our wine educator (virtual wave to Dean) as we sat outside; the weather was perfect. They have done a fabulous job remodeling this room and transforming the entire outside area into a relaxing patio setting with comfy lounge chairs and fire place. Chef Britny Sundin Maureze sounded familiar as I had the pleasure of tasting her culinary masterpiece a decade ago at Chateau Montelena. She must've been 12 years old then, she looks so young LOL. The location was very relaxing and a great place for outdoor wine tasting, especially during the summer heat. My friends and I reserved the Wine and Food experience for a selection of red wine. We were seated indoors amongst other customers with one sommelier. We had a pretty decent and interactive experience with the sommelier. I'm not quite a wine connoisseur, but the sommelier did a great job explaining the wine and food pairing. We started off with one red wine and a variety of food samples that resonates a taste (chocolate chip for sweetness, lemon wedge for sourness, etc.). The sommelier thoroughly explained how each taste enhances/changes the flavor of the wine, which gave me a greater perspective of how to choose the right food to pair with my wine. After that, we delved into the meals. I really learned a lot from this experience and I definitely recommend it for first time wine-tasting visitors! read more

Of all wineries, this was some of the better food on our adventures! The mushroom arancini will remain in my dreams, they were delicious. Myself and others in my party aren't huge Merlot drinkers, but they get their grapes from the coastline and it created a robust fruitful wine - we all bought bottles. Service was attentive, but not overbearing, and seemed casual/calm - not like the cattle call or rushed atmosphere of other places. The wine tasting room itself was small and quaint, with a few small high tops and a bar to sit at. You were able to do the wine tasting of all red wines, or all Cabernet wines (I liked that they offered both options), for a decent price. Probably not the place to go if you like only white wines. Thought the wine was just average, as was the tasting experience itself. Everything here is amazing!!! Where do I even start?! Wine quality: EXCELLENT! We started off with a Haire Vineyard Chardonnay that was not buttery (I don't care for buttery chards) easy going, with hints of lemon and apple, and some minerals. This might be one of the best chards I've had! The Atlas Peak cab was also amazing! For a mountain cab, it was very gentle and not particularly bold or overwhelming. Overall, their wines pair very well with food, and that's important! Service: AMAZING! Gary helped me with my wines and he was very knowledgeable and just a fun person to chat with! Kate was also very helpful! After I left, I called the winery and Vicki helped me out. She was very courteous and helpful! I really can't say enough about the high quality of the service here! Bonus: they serve food here and the the items on the menu are delicious! We ordered a pizza and some fried olives and had the opportunity to experience firsthand how well the wines paired with food!
