2.5 stars... Another joint we wanted to hit up as it has been many years, and I loved their Merlot! Seated outdoors in a cabana as the temperature was rising... server bounced around to several other groups and would pop in with a new bottle. Whites were not cool enough, even the server agreed. It was too warm outside to really enjoy the reds. Not the experience we remember, and the tastings really should be indoors instead of on a hot concrete patio. Ambiance is part of the experience, and this one was poor.

As someone who visits wineries often I thought I'd check this winery out. Unfortunately I did not feel like it was a Very Welcoming establishment. The sommelier/server was not giving my friend and I the attention that he seemed to be giving other parties. However that was not the initial problem. When we were served the wine it was being splattered into the cup and was not to the expectation of the service I thought the winery offered. The initial welcoming wine was poured from a bottle that barely had any wine and the sommelier/server didn't bother to open a new one and you could tell the difference in my friend and I's glass. To top it off we were served expired crackers and I hadn't noticed until after I had already ate them. When I brought it up to the sommelier/server he seemed non chalant about what I said. They did provide a complimentary glass of wine but I wish the service could have been better for the price I'm paying to sit at Skyloft

This was a phenomenal tasting experience! The views are stunning and the seating is unique and comfortable. The staff took amazing care of us setting aside time to explain each wine in depth. The pace was perfectly curated for our timeframe and the wines are amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting at Rutherford Hill Winery. The tasting patio is beautiful with a gorgeous view of the valley. Our server, Suzanne, was excellent. She was very accommodating to our selections for tasting and answered all of our questions. We also had the charcuterie tray, which was extra. Overall, a great experience!

View from the top of Vineyard; the height of the "ATV" tour

My partner and I did the "ATV" tour and tasting at Rutherford Hill Winery and bought two bottles of wine. It was a first time to this winery and we booked online via Tock. While the description centered the "ATV" (a literal four person vehicle that acts as a shuttle to the hillside grow) I'd say it didn't add much to the experience other than the view. While we didn't expect to drive the ATVs ourselves we didn't know much what to expect given the very brief description online. I wouldn't say it was a "bonus" I'd go back for. Overall, we were a bit underwhelmed. Lori (our guide) was knowledgeable and friendly. She was kind and navigated unexpected obstacles (such as a broken cork while tasting out in the field- she was able to save it) very well. However, as an end to end experience there were opportunities for improvement. It was a bit off from the beginning, we booked a tour at 11am in advance (our preferred time). My partner was actually contacted in advance and asked if we'd switch to the 2pm tour to join another couple. We are very flexible (having come from fine dining myself, I understand how this might be easier for the establishment and the staff). However, I don't think they reached out to the other guests to confirm their tasting. When we arrived, we were impacted by late guests and cut short by their schedule since they voiced they had scheduled their flight immediately after their tasting. While the winery did give us a little extra taste of a port at the end (upon our request) we felt they could have been a bit more accommodating at the end to compensate for the time we lost out in the vineyard m. It was a bit of a disappointment since we were looking to take our time, planned our time in advance, and we're convinced to adjust to their schedules. Having switched to a time later in the day it was very hot on the hillside, and we were not offered water while in the vineyard. If you have the opportunity to maintain the 11am, I'd recommend you take advantage. Their winery is know more for production of the typical style of the region, Boudreaux blends and varietals. While the wine was full bodied, there weren't any distinctive characteristics or narratives behind any of the bottle that captured our attention for membership.

We absolutely loved our wine tasting tour which included the caves. Stunning property but one of the most delicious Malbecs (my personal favorite). Great service! They also have an Atv tour that we are looking at doing next time.

I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I have NEVER enjoyed red wines like these I tasted at PEJU. Since the time of our outstanding wine tasting experience, I have recommended and raved about Todd and PEJU winery to friends and family who appreciate and value high quality wines and winery experiences. It felt like a vacation getaway being in the tasting room building, admiring the breathtaking stained glass art, all of the art inside and the beautiful art and nature views outside. I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. This is the kind of treatment that makes us want to return. Napa is a special place for friends, family, and me, and PEJU is now an indelible memory in my Napa adventures! Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! Todd went above and beyond to give us a VIP experience and even gave me a bag full of wine corks for my art project after I told him about this and asked for some of their wine corks we saw lined up in their wine uncorking and pouring area. Thank you, Todd!

The grounds are gorgeous inside and out, and I really enjoyed the stained glass, large open windows, and the statues and the koi pond area outside. The service was extraordinary, and I had a great time learning a bit about the different wines PEJU offers from Joseph. I tried quite a few different wines, and really liked how there are a few unique offerings here that you can't find elsewhere - I ended up getting a bottle of their Province, the Farm, and their late harvest orange muscat. PEJU is also one of the few wineries with a permit to serve food. If I had known ahead of time, I would've planned to eat here! The rilettes were super tempting, but Joseph advised that if I was planning to eat a meal afterward to stick to the chips and dip - this ended up being quite a generous portion as well, and I really enjoyed the goat cheese truffle dip alongside the wine tasting :) Overall, PEJU is definitely a beautiful winery to visit with excellent service, and I'll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed the smoked chicken wings with Alabama sauce. The smokiness of the chicken was so good paired with the tangy sauce. Hubby enjoyed his pork chop. It was a huge cut but he always orders pork chop and never complains unless it's over cooked. I wasn't that hungry and ordered a regular garden salad and was convinced to add an avocado which was ripe but didn't add anything to the salad. I did like the sunflower seeds in the salad. There wasn't anything else on the entree menu that appealed to me. Maybe it would've been better to order a couple of appetizers as my meal. I could have consumed the entire plate if chicken wings by myself. Bathrooms are in the rear, in a separate small building. My biggest disappointment was the cheddar biscuits. It was chewy-like, dense and arrived lukewarm. Likely reheated and the dough was probably overworked. There was no cheddar inside the biscuit but coated on the outside. It came with a few biscuits but after eating one, I couldn't eat anymore because of the texture and chewiness. The honey butter (couldn't taste any honey) didn't help either. I make and try out different cheddar biscuit recipes at home and this would be a recipe I'd toss out.

Frog's Leap is simply our favorite winery in Napa Valley, and the reasons run deeper than the wine itself. In a valley increasingly dominated by cabernet sauvignon monoculture, John and Rory Williams have stayed true to a different philosophy -- growing and making wines that reflect genuine passion rather than market trends. They are also committed to responsible farming practices like organic, dry farming that are not only good for the land, but result in wines that have a sense of place. That commitment shows in every bottle. Not every varietal will suit every palate (I haven't quite gotten behind Charbono yet - sorry Rory!), but each one is exceptionally well-crafted and represents remarkable value, especially against the Napa marketplace. The wines are site-driven, elegant and balanced, not just over-oaked fruit bombs. The property is gorgeous, the tasting room staff are consistently warm and accommodating, and the winery is genuinely family-friendly -- something that matters to us greatly, as we often visit with our son. It's important to belong to a place that makes you feel welcomed, and not some of the sterile, hoity-toity atmosphere of many wineries these days. The club events and regular pickup party are highlights our whole family looks forward to when they come around. We have many great memories there like getting to help sort grapes in the 2023 vintage, cookie decorating around Christmas timeThere's also something special about seeing John and Rory at those events, hearing directly from them about their philosophy and how the current vintage is unfolding. That personal connection to the people behind the wine is rare and deeply appreciated. If you're looking for a winery that leads with integrity and craft over trend-chasing, Frog's Leap deserves your visit.
