We started with the cheese board which was pretty standard but adequate. No vegetarian entrees to choose from but several sides and salads that sounded interesting and I wanted to try. So disappointing. My cocktail was horrible bartender can't make a Manhattan and they give you a neon cherry. Give us a Luxardo cherry for the prices you charge. Waiter forget our appetizer and he acted like it wasn't a big deal. Waiter was a missing character the whole meal disappearing for long stretches of time. My husband and I went to Avenue Kitchen when it first opened, I must say we were not impressed. More recently, we decided to give it another try, so last week we went and really enjoyed it. We went back this week and I must say, we will NEVER be back!!!!! We both ordered a martini, when they arrived to our table, the glasses were half full. The server, immediately said that, "oh, we have oversized martini glasses" knowing full well that the glasses really were just half full. The worst part is when we complained, the bartender, Nicole, came over and gave us this attitude that I could not believe. She was so rude and condescending I couldn't believe it. THAT is the reason we will never be back!! We came here for my sister-in-law's birthday for a nice Sunday brunch. The place had a nice crowd and had a very inviting atmosphere. Taylor, our waitress, was great! Our coffees were refilled on request and any time we needed anything, she was right there. Service was perfect! For food, we started with sharing the truffle fries and the chips and dip. Both were great. I liked the dip that came with the chips a lot! For brunch itself, the majority of us at the table got the creme brûlée waffle. We heard a lot of great things about it, and we were told it was life-altering. I will say it was very good, but it was a bit too sweet and had a bit too much custard. Creme brûlée shouldn't be that sweet, but it was still a good meal. Not sure if I'd get that again, but I might go for the pizza! My nephew got the margarita pizza and it looked and tasted great! I was very hopeful after looking at the menu. Unfortunately this was fairly disappointing. Went for Sunday brunch. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese on top with sausage and a side of bacon. Wife ordered scrambled eggs. We also ordered one pancake and one French toast to try. Service as has been mentioned is somewhat relaxed. If you're in a rush probably not the place for you. We weren't in any hurry so it didn't matter to us. Eggs were over cooked and dry. Bacon was a little over cooked and some were like bacon bits. Parts of my toast was burnt. Shocked they would serve that. Server forgot my sausage so can't comment on that. Pancake was dense and dry even though it was on the thinner side. When he put it down I thought it looked good. Pretty disappointing. The French toast although looking burnt was the best part of the meal. Unfortunately it didn't make up for all the short comings. Our first visit here wasn't very pleasant but we decided to give it another try and loved it. Since then, we have been back numerous times and have great experiences each time. While the place was more than half empty we did not get seated in the booth or at least in the front area of the restaurant (even after our request). Instead, the hostess gave us a direct view of the kitchen and bathroom. During the whole time we had our dinner only another couple came and about two tables cleared, so still puzzled about the hostess rudeness to accommodate a request. Since the restaurant was empty, probably a good idea to seat your guests closer to the window so it gives a better impression about being busy. Bill was a little high given the food received. The sandwich itself was egg, Canadian bacon and cheddar cheese on a brioche bun. No seasoning; just simple. Eggs Benedict was in my taste, fantastic. Perfectly poached eggs. Ham was a little tough but eatable. Hollandaise was not too runny on bread. Different from the usual English muffin which worked well. Potatoes were covered in too much salt; wasn't very good. Waitress worked hard with 5 tables alone with at least 2-4 people at each. Made tremendous effort with no staff. The hostess/server asked if we had a 'reservation' - we said 'no' - she then said we could not sit in a booth as they for 'reservations' only - (there were only two other people in the restaurant). We were seated at a table - then ordered our lunch. My friend ordered the 'farro' salad - what arrived was nothing like the salad pictured - it was a bunch of greens in a bowl. My friend said - I don't think this is the 'farro' salad - the server said "yes it is" but no farro in it - she finally took it back and sprinkled some farro in it. it was not good and my sandwich was not great. I had high expectations for this restaurant. My boyfriend and I came here for a Sunday brunch. The hostess didnt want us waiting for a table so she said we could grab seats at the bar. I'd usually prefer a table but didnt want to wait an extra hour when it didnt seem like all the tables were occupied. The bar ended up being nice as far as cleanliness. However, even though they said it was full service, the service at the bar was not the best. It took forever to get our food. It ended up coming out at the same time as the people who sat down after us - 10 minutes later. I was disappointed by this because it also took a while for a waiter to come by and take order in the first place. I got my coffee first and I had almost finished it entirely by the time the food came out (~30-35 minutes after). There were also no free refills (at least no one refilled ours). The waiters seemed very snobby and although the food was alright I dont think I would like to come back here. read more

Came in with my husband and children to have a nice brunch in Father's Day. It was a beautiful day and we chose seating outside. We were given menus. It went downhill from there. Took someone about 10 minutes to take our drink order, by this time we were ready to order food. We ordered both. Our coffee came out, along with a container for sugar packets that was empty. I asked for sugar and was told sure. Waited for someone to come back out when that didn't happen I went in and asked for sugar AND silverware. Food came out and asked for sugar again and the silverware. They said they would come out, when they didn't I went back in again and ran into them bringing out the silverware-still no sugar. Asked again. Tables outside began filling up, oddly 2 of the waitresses-one of which was ours-left the restaurant and went to the clothing store next door. Tables went unattended for at least 10 minutes. I couldn't believe my eyes. A new waitress came out and began taking food orders for the unattended tables. I asked her if she could bring us our check. Took another 10 minutes to get the check. My family left for the car and I waited for our original waitress to come out. By this time I was fuming. No apologies, no acknowledgment of delays etc...I usually would have said a word or two, but chose to impact them financially. I left a 10% tip and wrote this same account on the bill. I also let them know that we would not be back. This is disappointing considering that the food has consistently been delicious. Back of house is not the issue. Ate here today and was appalled at the service. We had a reservation for 6 people at 11:15 am on a Sunday and when we arrived there was no table open. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table and my 88 year old grandmother had to sit at someone's table due to lack of seating by the hostess stand. The hostess seemed surprised we were requesting a table EVEN THOUGH we had made a reservation a week prior. There were no mugs for coffee and had to wait for those as well. Only reason for the 3 stars is the place looks clean, we sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly, and the wine was good. We ordered a pizza, and guac and chips as an appetizer. Place wasn't crowded but it took forever to get our food. We thought we'd get the chips right away as it's an appetizer. Got everything at one time after a very long wait, and it wasn't crowded. For $7.00 we got about 10 small chips and a very small container of guac. The pizza was one of the worst we've ever had. Dry, puffy crust with barely any tomatoes and spices. It was like eating cardboard. Maybe their other offerings are good, but don't get the guac and chips or the pizza. We will never go there again. read more
