When I came with a faulty battery asking to replace, Brad couldn't find the purchase in their system, due to a clerical error at time of purchase. Went ahead and purchased a battery with the promise it will be taken care of with the home store. Called the home store to resolve. They instructed the store to keep the core for pickup so I can get it refunded. When I came back to pick up the core, Brad said he has no idea where it is and he assumed it had been picked up. He then continued to deflect any responsibility. Bad business! Taking no responsibility for his mistakes!

Both an employee and the store manager shared details about a recent incident in which someone pulled a gun on them in the parking lot and attempted to rob them. Hearing this information directly from staff while shopping was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional, and it raised serious concerns about customer safety at this location. As a result of this incident, both the employee and the manager refused to assist me with a simple headlight installation. I have been a loyal customer for over six years, and AutoZone locations have consistently helped me with this service, as my vehicle is very easy to work on. I then drove to the AutoZone on McClintock the same night, where I was assisted immediately and treated professionally. I was in and out in under five minutes. The contrast between these two locations was significant. Sharing sensitive details of violent incidents with customers and refusing assistance as a result reflects poor training and management at the Broadway location. I hope this is reviewed by corporate.

Never tries to upsell me on things not needed etc. I go there because of the honesty and especially the mechanic, Eric who has been working on my JEEPS since about 2012 or so. Very trustworthy and knows his stuff and is the only one who I ever go to re-gear etc. I just had a bunch of upgrades done there last week such as, a new Teraflex axle housing, 10 factory chromoly shafts, Apex Ball Joints, the rear axle tubes welded to the housing as well as a truss, a Teraflex Long Arm kit installed, and a new front skid plate since my old one wouldn't work with the new long arms. This upgrade bill was NOT CHEAP at all. But you get what you pay for and Eric knows his stuff and that alone is very important to me as well as they have never sold or tried to sell me something I didn't need. Other shops are NOT honest like them and not all shops are dishonest either, but its hard to find a good shop that can be 100% trusted. I know for a fact that this shop can be trusted 100% and is amazing. If it wasn't then i wouldn't keep going back. So Thank you to the entire Desert Rat Staff for all you do. Went to start it up.... DEAD. Batteries at home weren't strong enough to jump it so I came in with my Dead battery and was able to quickly do an exchange. It's Arizona, and batteries die. Just glad this Autozone is near the house and the process of exchange is always easy!!! I do wish they had some type of covering/awning in front of the store to help protect when you have to change your battery out at the store. I learned that given all the plastic coverings in one of our cars, they don't replace (but will give you the tools). Protection would be good for both the employees and customers.
