I'm a long term customer, first dropped my new-to-me Toyota Tercel off at Simon's Auto Repair back in summer 2004 and walked home in the heat. I remember that uneasy feeling of dread, hoping the car was fixable. Thankfully, the shop hooked me up with an affordable repair and the car ended up lasting quite a few more years. THE BAD: I sent my parents in and my father's complaint was that the cheap brakes and brake job he requested got noisy again after less than a year. Looking back, I think a higher quality brake disk and speaking up about the noise complaint would have gotten him what he wanted. About 2014, I was reminded of the need to keep your own mechanical records since not everything stays in place when the shop converted between back-end systems. THE GOOD: $85hr labor rate and FAIR. I have found this shop to be honest and to do what you ask. They aren't mind readers, but will assume you're looking to get rolling again without breaking the bank. Everything mechanical breaks, and I've had my share of frustrating vehicles and ill timed repair bills. I have enjoyed the work the shop has done for me. This shop has kept me as a customer since 2004 with a variety of vehicles - Toyota, Ford, Nissan and my father's Chevrolet Suburban. At one point in 2017 after I felt I could trust the shop, I let them know I was going on a big road trip and to please check over my vehicle. They did so and my return phone call got a chuckle from my service advisor who said "everything is great for your trip unless you just want to start throwing money and parts the vehicle". Driving past the shop, you can see their business volume and expansion into the next door business. I am aware of some of more than one car lot using this shop. I was pleasantly surprised on a recent visit to learn they could handle VW & BMW now. My gas line was torn on a 1998 Buick from San Diego. It was badly rusted underneath, the only way to replace the damage that had occurred was to take the under belly of my car apart, replace the line, then try to put it back together. He took me to the back, showed me just how bad it was underneath. He said it would take a couple days to get the parts, and at least $300! I'm a broke college student dipping into my savings. Since he was saying it was so low I also got my Freon changed. If you don't know much about cars I was expecting to spend $400 (good deal price) and ended up spending $275 and got it back 2 days later. They were HONEST, the EXPLAINED everything, got me my car EARLY and the cost was CHEAP. God bless these people and what they do. Thank you so much! read more

the worst place to go get your car fixed. employees are completely unprofessional. I went to go fix my cars AC, they broke a piece, and when I went to go validate my warantee, they got upset and they did not want to fix it and it took them a week to fix. The AC still did not work, and then I went a third time because my AC was coming out hot and when I told them they did a bad job and that they did not fix anything the mechanic started to act aggressively he grabbed my phone and threw it at my car windshield. Then he told me to get out of his property even though I had called the cops about the aggression the worker had towards me. I just want to say I 100% do not recommend going to this Auto repair shop, they are unhelpful, unprofessional , and the owner will ignore all this. read more

I am surprised with this shop having 5 stars and getting my car fixed the next day! I thought I was going to be on a waiting list. Anyways my car would jerk here and there when pushing on the gas pedal, so I looked up near by shops and I saw this had a 5 star. I went there like 5:30pm and told them my problem, Simon suggested I leave my car there because it was already near closing time. Of course I left my contact information with him and the next day Simon called me saying a hose is busted and my transmission fluid leaked out, if I was willing to pay the 275.00 that he wanted he would get it fixed ASAP. Honestly thought I was going to pay $500. So by noon my car was up and running. I am going to bring my cars here for service from now on, I asked for a quote for my brakes as well he said $140. You never know what to expect from a new mechanic - and I can personally attest that these guys truly go above and beyond for their clients and have loads of integrity. I took my sedan in for an oil change last week in the first. Very next day while pulling out of the driveway in my other vehicle, I notice the sedan is leaking oil. Every day I drove it since last week, I noticed a small leak. I take it back to Mike this morning before they open. He comes back about 15 minutes later and says "you have a BIG PROBLEM.". Then he says he's I'm all set, everything is fine . He said the seal around the oil change bolt was bad and he put a new one in. No paperwork, no fees, just handed me my keys and said I'm all set. He has been doing ALL my auto work since last year (see clean engine pictures) when he put in a used transmission in my Honda and fixed the ACs in both vehicles. My step father wrecked my Honda the day after (?) the super bowl this year and it was deemed a total loss. I took it to Mike and got 2 replacement doors and the "hood" and pocketed more than half the settlement. He did one other minor touch up and I was all set to go to mvd for a salvage title restored inspection. I went in a couple months ago for struts on the sedan and he got me a barely used (just as good or better than the other 3) tire for $40. This guy is totally legit, honesty, trustworthy, and just a great guy to do business with. He continues to amaze me and my limited finances make his shop the place to go for my 2 paid off "beaters". read more

This place is the best auto shop I've ever been to in ALL of Phoenix! I took my car in not even knowing what was wrong with it... all I knew is all the engine lights were on and that bothered me (I know, typical female not taking care of her car) so I took it to to Simon's. Being a woman, I'm always hesitant to visit a mechanic because they mostly try to scam you or have you pay way more than necessary. Simon's was the complete opposite... they were unbelievably honest. He fixed the engine lights, did an oil change, fixed the tires and countless other things. I wasn't even there for 30 minutes and they were done with the car. I took my car to Simons auto to get diagnosed Mike told me it needed a transmission switch, had him install the switch and new shocks he charged over 1,000 and two days later the same exact thing was happening he suggested bring the car back every time the check engine light came on after taking it back he would scan the code, less than a week later he stated he misdiagnosed the switch but what it really needed was a new transmission and wanted to charge to put it in. read more

Two weeks ago Simon stated I needed a new radiator,that was the reason my AC was not blowing cold air. I spent 500.00 dollars on a brand new radiator. The problem was corrected. Two weeks after the job was done, my AC began blowing cold air on the right side and hot air on the left side. I return too find out that he fix half the problem, he stated I needed a new hose, because, it was leaking refrigerant. He quoted me another 500.00.he revealed he was aware of the preexisting problem. I asked him why did he mislead me into believing my AC system was solved, because of a new radiator. He gave me a bunch of fast talk. He put more refrigerant in my line, and then charge me 80.00. I was under the impression he was doing this for free. The shop work ethics are misleading. They are not to be trusted especially if you are a widow and on a fix income. The shop is Ruthless. read more

I went to this shop for oil change and mike was the mechanic working on my car. he supposed to put the proper amount of engine oil but what he did was putting almost half of the quantity and charged me a full amount of regular oil change. he was about to destroy my engine. please save your money and car and go to another repair shop. if another shop charges you more money then do not feel sorry about the extra amount you will pay. it is much more safer to pay a little more money and feel safe and save your precious car. I will never go to this shop again no matter what happen or what other mechanics will charge me. listen to my advice and go somewhere else. read more

I will not take my truck anywhere else. Mike has always been honest and fair with me about the costs. He has done a diagnostic test on my truck a few times and didn't charge me for it. He told me what was wrong and how much it would cost before he did anything. He has even been able to get me some good used parts that saved me money on the repairs.
