I had been a longtime customer since the late 1990's and would always send friends and family to buy from Penny Pincher, even with me now living in Las Vegas for the past 5 years. I had my daughter buy all new brakes to update her system in her vehicle. She told me how rude the cashier ladies were (both times she went in because one of the parts was not there). Gave her dirty looks and were rude with the transactions. The only person that was nice was the one who helped her with the parts, even offered help to carry the heavy parts to her vehicle. I did the brake job myselft and had to go spend money at Autozone here in Las Vegas because Penny Pincher decided to sell my daughter a set of used front brake pads. The picture shows the pads on the left that Penny Pincher sold, middle is what we bought at Autozone and right is also what Penny Pincher sold us. This was obviously the last time we spend our money at Penny Pincher. I will much rather spend more money at any other parts store than Penny Pincher. read more

At first my experience was not what I expected when I was told to wait to get help until there was no line on a saturday afternoon by a customer service rep to help me on a warranty issue. I then went to IRISHA and explained my situation, she asked me about transaction details and went above and beyond to look for my receipt to process my warranty. The manager sold us a fuel pump that did not work we installed it and it did not read the fuel levels properly. We went and told them and the MANAGER told us he would not accept it and there for had to go buy a new one to replace it if we wanted out money back from them. We told them "thank you for selling us a part that does t work" he then says "you're welcome" they know the part didn't work and still sold it. I have gotten auto parts from PP for decades. I have never received incorrect or substandard parts from them.

I bought a $150 part from this store and was told it was the last one they had, installed it, and it didn't work. Unfortunately had to pay $300 for same part at Autozone and it worked fine. I just had a bad experience here I purchased 2 window regulators and paid a good price. Both failed in a matter of months. I called to see about a exchange they absolutely need a receipt. I lost the receipt but have the purchase on my bank statement. Is that evidence enough. They will not work with you without your receipt. My husband went here because it was recommend by a friend. He was in need of a CV boot replacement they had one the cashier opened and checked the box before checking out. When he got home realized he asked for the wrong boot. When he tried to replace it with the correct one, the cashier told him that there was a bag of clips missing from the box, because of this she then took the clips from the exchanged box. They assured my husband he must have them at home. He gets back and looks for the missing bag does not find it. He didn't even the boot out of the box either time. He eventually just decide to take the part back and just get his money and take his business elsewhere. You are better off saving time and gas as well as a bit of sanity going elsewhere. read more

Wrong parts, twice. As we were waiting to go inside, a female employee walked up to the front door male employee and dropping F-bombs. It just so happened that she would be the one who "helped" us out by giving us all sorts of wrong parts. I was given 4-lug rotors for my 5-lug 2011 Civic DX 1.8l. After returning those, and receiving the correct ones from someone who was actually qualified to work there, we installed the rear shoes, which once again were the wrong part (given to us by the first girl, who was the one cussing at the front door). If I can give them zero stars I would of, Tuesday August 12, 10:00am, The short guy in the front of the store checking temperature is very rude. My father in law and I were both going to buy stuff and he said only one of us can walk in. As we stated we are both buying parts, and if I you don't let us both in, we are taking our business else where and the guy at the front told us, we'll leave and go somewhere else. What kind of business puts someone out in front of the business talking to customers like that with attitude. Once we walk in and my father and law is getting help on getting parts , I wait with my item that I am purchasing to pay for my father and laws stuff too, the security approaches me with his face mask covering only his chin. I am so super excited! I have been contemplating for the past year is it really worth paying so much for a planner. Last year I did a trial run and bought the pdf files, which I never used. So this year I thought well maybe cause I had to put extra effort and thought into printing them out that is why I didn't follow through. That is the reason I never used it. So this year I decided I would get the actual planner. I opened the box and saw it in a box that said eek it's here time to happy dance. I literally got excited. Keep in mind I never write reviews . Once I opened the box I saw a pretty blue box that said eek it's here the happy dance and for the first time in my life I felt joy and did a happy dance. I was super impressed by how it was carefully packaged in bubble wrap so there was no damage to the planner. Then I pulled the planner out and saw the cover was not the cardboard type that gets easily damaged which happens when I get one and carry it to work back to home and vice versa the next day. I need the planner to get my house under control cause I've let it go while I was trying to build a restaurant business but I also need a planner I can input things that needs to be done there at the restaurant as well as at home. This planner does it all. The first page allows me to input those things then I can go to the other pages to check off what I have done at home. All the local mechanics know about this place, and if you own a car, ESPECIALLY an older model car, you NEED to know about this place too. Penny Pincher has saved us not one, not two, but at least THREE times or more, when one of our cars broke down and we needed a part that all of the regular retail chain auto parts stores said had to be "special ordered". Penny Pincher always has the parts we need in stock and always at a much lower price than those chain auto parts stores quote. Need an example? Two days ago, our older Honda Civic blew a wheel bearing while driving on the 101. None of the chain retail auto supply stores had it in stock, but told us they could special order it for $15 and that it would take days to get it. Penny Pincher had it IN STOCK for $3. A day later, we were back on the road! Thank you Penny Pincher! Lots of professional and DIY mechanics come here, so the place is always very busy. Everyone's complaining but facts are this place has parts cheaper then anywhere else in the valley. The staff are knowledgeable and have never given me a wrong part or bad advice. They have had everything I have ever needed for my vehicles except paint. I'm a white woman and have never been treated badly by any of the staff including the female cashiers. The line is long, deal with it. They have a lot of counter workers and the line moves quickly. Know what you want when you get to the counter so the line moves faster. Do NOT touch the parts when they bring them back to the counter. The people behind the counter are usually bilingual so if your English is not great this can be really helpful. The cashiers over the years have always seemed like they are aloof and tired but the service is fast and the parts are cheap so you get what you pay for I guess. I wish this place was better lit, it has restaurant ambiance lighting which is kind of annoying :/ read more

This place has definitely gone downhill since I used to go there years ago. Yes, they seem to have every conceivable part for whatever your needs are, but that's about where the customer service stops. I bought a replacement part a couple of months ago for my truck, and paid a $29 core charge. I went in today to return the part that was taken out of my truck. After standing in line for 30 minutes or so, I get called to the counter. But, did I get my core charge back? Nope! Do to the fact that there was some valve missing, and I didn't bring the used part back in the box that the new part came in, they would not even accept the part what-so-ever. No discount core charge, no nothing. So, this place will never get another dollar from me. It used to be a great store. Now it's just a piece of crap with no customer service. Always have the parts I need at a very low price. Most of the parts have warranties as long as you remember to save the receipt. A low cost and quicker alternative to the big corporate branded parts shops. As with any part's shop, there are good times to go where it is "dead". Obviously the weekends at 2pm is not a good time. But any other time, especially weekdays and evenings is a great time to go. Also, if you are going into a labor intensive project that requires lots of time to remove the part, make sure the new part is tested and works before installing it. Example would be a starter on a Crown Vic. It's a 3 hour job because of the control arms blocking access. I also got a real good deal on a cooling fan and shroud for my Thunderbird at half the normal price. I never had a problem with a part from from this shop. Just make sure you know your vehicle's specifications. read more
