I drive Lyft/Uber and got a flat 40 miles from home. Dropped car off at 2AM Wed. morning with a bolt in the tire. Made online appointment for 12:15pm. Called at 10:30am to confirm my *appointment* and make sure they could jack up car manually to fix the tire since I had the key and live 40 miles away and I wanted the car to be done when I got there. They said they could do that. No text updates so I called again at 2:45. "There are 3 cars in front of you but you should be done in about 45 minutes." Now text says car should be done by 4:05. We arrived at 3:57pm AND MY CAR HADN'T BEEN TOUCHED. It was still sitting where the tow truck dropped it 14 hours earlier. I'll let the pix tell the rest of the story. The borderline smug placating attitude the techs gave me was irritating; I have Every Right to be upset that my car sat untouched when a) I had an appointment at 12:15pm that wasn't honored because I wasn't physically there/they didn't have a key and b) they gave me a timeframe and STILL didn't do Anything until after I arrived. The day I bought the set of tires, only two were in stock, and they were quickly installed that same day. She kept me apprised on the delivery of the other two tires, And I later found out that she drove to the warehouse to ensure I got them in time for a road trip that I had mentioned. Had to come here for my tire pressure being too low... turns out I had a nail in my tire! I came in 5 minutes before close not expecting to be seen in time but Richard saw me and waved me down to come help me. Took the time to make sure all my tires were okay and added air where needed and took a closer look to see if I needed to replace the tire with the nail. Coming in next day for my appt I was greeted with rudeness air I don't remember his name he was average height man 5"5 with glasses maybe Hispanic. I showed up at 745am. There was a line of two guys and several cars in the parking lot. I was third in line. When they opened at 8 am the service men came out and spoke with vehicles that were there first which I thought was really cool. It took away what could have been an awkward conversation. I spoke with it to the other guys in line and we all were in agreement how professional they were. Even though i ended up being 4 th in line they were quick friendly and helpful. I came into the location for 2 tires. I left thinking everything was ok. The next day my break light came on unfortunately the store was closed and I couldn't bring it back the next day. I brought it back the following day and I was completely disappointed. Not only did they not help with the issue instead of addressing my concern Demontay (sales rep) tried to up sale and quote me over $2k for additional things I did not ask for. So I took my car to the dealership and found out that half of the issues they said was wrong with my car was not an issue and my breaks actually did not have to be replaced I just needed break fluid. Outstanding customer service, and expert workmanship. I had a 'shimmy' in my passenger side tire at speeds over 50-mph. Since I bought the tires from Discount Tire several months ago, they quickly found a missing glued-on tire weight which caused the problem. When I drove on the freeway the next day, the shimmy was worst! I took the car in, and they, again, recognized the problem that the other three tires had become 'out of balance' and in no time, I was on the road. I really hate to be the one to put bad reviews, but I made an appointment online and received a call three minutes later saying that they didn't have any spots open for me (which is weird because their options shouldn't have been available online) but they then mentioned they can make an appointment for Friday that same week, I had to work and had my brother come and pick up my car so they could take it for the appointment, When he arrived he was told my name was nowhere on their schedule. Discount broke my center cap, took the time to look up the cost to replace it ($20-$30) and then said they weren't going to do anything about it. They obviously place a low value on customer retention if it's not worth $20-$30 to take responsibility for the damage they caused. Frustrating to take my car to be fixed and now have something else to fix. It's not difficult to remove a center cap. Pretty shady, low quality and low skill! read more

You guys, I rarely if ever write reviews about car shops. Let's face it, most of the time we feel taken advantage of but not here at Discount tire. First off, I can't believe I hadn't left them a review some time ago as I've been several times, but now I'm glad I didn't because I can leave a much more thorough review overall. I moved to Phoenix from So Fl about 2 yrs ago and shortly after moving here I needed air in my tires. I went to 6 gas stations and none had air or would take my quarters. Someone told me to check out this place which I did and I was shocked that you can do a drive by essentially, never get out of your car and get your tires checked and filled. I am not used to this, at all, so wow! Ok, I've used this service now several times as a couple times I got some nails, as have other members of my household. Each and every single time, we are always greeted by the staff with a genuine and sincere want to help. Wow, I'm just getting air. OK, next......I did get a nail that needed to be completely pulled out and plugged. The day I went, it was really busy and I had to get to work asap that morning. They were honest with me about the wait times and suggested I make an apt to come in first thing the next morning. I did that and they filled my tires for the day so I could get to work. The next morning I came in early for my apt, let them know I needed to be done by a certain time and not only did they keep their word, but they were done a few moments early and kept me up to date on the progress (it was again a very busy morning for them). They are professional, courteous and well just the best in every possible way. My car is new and I have yet to need new tires but you can bet that when I do, I'll be at this specific Discount tire for the service I have received many times over. I would make a special drive here if I move from this area just because to me, it's all about the experience. Other family members have been here to buy tires and they said they had an excellent experience AND they had called around as well and received the best pricing from Discount tire. He said they closed at 6 and could not help me... so I said if I get there before 6 can you help and he said yes... I got in line for air at 5:59 with one car ahead. So a manger decided to help the nice young man who puts air in your tires. When he saw my flat tire he immediately said there was nothing he could do. So I said can u put air in it and he hesitated cause he acted like he didnt want to! So I insisted! He then said the air is coming out fast... there is noting I can do. I said can you patch it and he said no... I said is there another tire shop in the area and he said i dont know... I was like ok... I cant leave like this can you put another tire on and he said no... so I gabbed my phone to try to find a place near by and he said "I will help you if you buy a 'NEW' tire!" I was like.. wait what! You want me to buy a new tire for over 100 dollars and you will help! Now I have my son in the car... Im a single mom and I dont have that kind of money right now... so I said no... you cant just patch it... he said no and with no conscience he looked at me and watched me drive away! The entire time he was extremely rude and cocky! So I called Laveen Tires and Wheels and Ervin hooked me up with a used tire for 35 dollars! I was in and out in 10 mins! But the trip part about it was when I called Laveen tires and said I just left Discount he said "Oh yeah, they are rude. They were not going to help you unless you buy a new tire!" I asked him how did he know and he said he has had several people tell him how rude the people were over there! Im writing this review in the parking lot of Laveen Tires and Wheels because I am beyond angry... but at the same time I am totally grateful that Ervin provided great customer service and showed concern for me and my son being back on the road safely! Go to LAVEEN TIRES AND WHEELS... give the real men your money UPDATE: "A Wrong Made Right" I called the corporate office and was surprised to hear back from the Vice President of Discount Tires. He was a very nice gentleman who kindly listened to my story and gave me a formal apology. He spoke to his store manager at the Laveen store, who in turn spoke to his manger. The Vice President offered a very "generous gift" and I ended up stopping by the Laveen location right after work. I went to talk to the store manger but he left and I ended up talking to Lupe and I'm glad I did. Although the VP was very kind and asked me to stop by the Laveen location. I was still hesitant, not wanting to relive what happened the day before, so I stopped by to decline the gift. But once I spoke to Lupe and saw how genuine he was I decided to accept the gift and I left very satisfied. And I also received an apology from the gentleman who spoke to me harshly from the beginning.
