I have never hired movers before but was making about a 70 mile move and, just no. I was called first thing in the morning by Tammy the dispatcher and she let me know the guys were on their way however there were some traffic snags which ran them late and she kept me up to date. When they arrived these men were fast and ready to get it done. They had my stuff out of my 3rd floor in about 35 minutes even with the time shrink wrapping items and ensuring everything was secured. Upon arrival at my new place they took even less time since I was moved to a first floor. They were very professional while also asking me relevant questions and even were kind enough to bring in some items from my car. They set up my bed and put furniture where I wanted it and asked if they weren't sure about something. I noted that another moving company arrived at the new apartment community around the same time that I did while my guys arrived in the truck about 20 minutes later (I drive fast, they obviously didn't speed) and were gone while the other moving company was still getting stuff out of about the same sized truck. All in all they were worth the wait, I will be using them again and letting everyone in Austin, TX know this is the company you should hire for moving or even delivery needs. read more

I was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with this moving company!! They were able to get me in super last minute, completely kept in communication 100%, very professional & were on time (actually early) and ready to go! I have heard horror stories about moving companies so I was hesitant to hire... However I could not be happier that I picked Austin Affordable Moving! They were friendly, fast, efficient.. And simply helpful in every way... If you want a smooth and stress-free move, these are your guys!! I feel that every moving experience I have ever had has been very stressful and time-consuming and I just wanted it to be over.. However, these 2 guys made my moving experience so simple and stress-free that my boyfriend and I looked at each other after everything was in our new home and we were like "wow.. I was a little hesitant about picking a mover. Your stuff is your stuff, and you want it well-taken care of during any move. I only booked my moving company three days in advance, so I was happy that Austin Affordable Moving had a last minute opening. I still was a little hesitant... I was scheduled for Saturday at 4:00, which I guess would be their last move of the day. I still wanted great service, quality, and speed even though the move was scheduled so later in the day. I received a call about an hour before the movers arrived, and the movers arrived right on time. The quality and speed of the two movers combined with my overall experience with the company are the reason for my 5-star review. Tammy was great to work with in scheduling the move. She was very responsive both by phone and email. The two moving guys were so fast too while also taking care of the furniture. Everything was moved in great condition. For furniture, I would just encourage you to confirm that they (or any moving company) have the appropriate blankets, etc. with them... which I did confirm in advance. read more

Simply amazing service! I am a college student and needed urgent help to move out of my apartment. My family had an emergency and weren't able to come help me move out because my hometown is El Paso, TX. I needed on day service which I knew was going to be difficult to find a company last minute that were available and within my budget. I have a physical disability so moving out was a bit more challenging because of the physical force require to do so. Austin Affordable Moving took a weight off my shoulders. From the call service personnel, Tammy was very understanding of my situation and went out of her way to help me. They guys helping me transported me to the storage unit and brought me back to my apartment. I am in Austin studying at UT Austin and have no family close to me. The process was simple and straight-forward; fill a form on-line and receive an email from Tammy with a quote and available days/times. The prices are transparent and without surprises. I needed to move many boxes and a few heavy items from a Storage Unit to a new apartment complex. Both storage and destination had elevators to everybody's delight. Cameron and Derrick showed up 10 minutes early (great) and started immediately. The day began with a drizzle and by the time we had arrived at the apartment complex it had moved to solid rain. Affordable Moving did a great job for us! We chose them the week we were to move because Tammy arranged a morning move for us at the last minute. The other company we were going to hire could only not come until after 2pm in the afternoon. The move was set for 10am. Blake and Joey arrived at 9:40am which was great. The earlier the better. They moved 2 complete bedrooms (included 2 chests of drawers, 1 dresser, very large headboard, foot board, queen mattress/box springs, 1 trundle bed (wood) and 2 single mattresses, the living room furniture, our 25 cu .ft. refrigerator, and our front loading washer and dryer). All wood furniture was wrapped with furniture pads and then shrink wrapped. Everything was well placed and strapped in on the 16 foot moving truck. The guys worked hard and never stopped the whole time, not even for the water we offered them. The move took less than two hours without a hiccup. We paid in cash and received a receipt. We loved these people!!! We were left in a lurch when our hired movers no showed us. I called Tammy late in the day, ok at night and Tammy didn't laugh at me when I said I need to move tomorrow. She was professional and didn't hike up the price just because we were calling last min. The guys not only showed up on time but called ahead to let us know they were on their way! They packed quickly and efficiently. They even remembered which rooms they took things from and put them in the respective rooms when we got to the new place. They communicated well and unloaded everything in a very timely manner. I'm usually a firm believer in you get what you pay for but I feel the price was very affordable yet the service was incredible. After having to move from an apartment full of mold only after three months of living there, the task to move again with my family of six was devastating. These guys saved the day and my sanity. Tammy is great. I actually use this Moving Company twice now wants to move into my old apartment and then I use them to move me out of my old apartment and I'm very satisfied with the service that I got and the prices I did call around for a while before I decided on who I was going to go with and Tammy had the best prices for the longest distance it was only $200 for two hours plus you pay an additional $50 for each additional 30 minutes which I did not think was bad at all I thought it was really really nice that they were pretty lenient on the fact that not all of my things were in boxes a lot of it was but some of my things were in trash bags and they were able to take all of those I was able to pay in card paying cash and I was able to get everything done pretty quickly to in comparison to where if I had to do it by myself going down three flights of stairs with All of my things all in all I'm very happy with Tammy and I would definitely recommend you use her if you need to move read more

I am from Houston, Texas, a single parent, and at the very last minute needed a moving company for my daughter to move her belongings from college campus to home for the Summer. By the time I arrived from Houston, Cam and Will had everything loaded in the truck. We arrived at the storage facility I had lined up, only to be met with a sign on the office door stating they will be back an hour later (2:40pm). If we wait on the storage facility to open their door again, I would owe Austin Affordable Moving more money than quoted by Tammy. Cam and Will called around, and helped me find another storage facility, with better security, and cost me $20.00 less per month for storage! That is above and beyond GREAT customer service! Also not sure why reviews were low-- My movers, Kyle and Will, were 10 minutes early to the apartment I was moving out of, beating me there, actually. They not only worked quickly, efficiently and carefully while moving things out of my second-floor one-bedroom, but they were also the nicest, friendliest movers I've ever used--great guys in general. All my things arrived quickly, securely and unbroken, and they not only moved my stuff/boxes/furniture/etc. into my new second-floor studio apartment, but re-assembled my bed for me as well. They also managed to do it all within two hours--which is the minimum you pay for with this company--during rush hour, no less (which, since we're in Austin and had to travel from Riverside to 44th street, you know is impressive). All in all, I would recommend them to anyone and have been referring to them as the "nicest, coolest movers ever." Great service and seriously--moving has never been so painless. read more

Tammi and her movers were extremely professional and kind. I wish I hadn't move to a new city otherwise I would have kept them as my local moving company. Tammi was very gracious and nice and always returned my calls. She really did a great job coordinating the move-in and gave me a great quote and broke down the price nicely. Tammi informed me about getting everything packed and ready to go for the movers. She sent an experienced mover (Will) to inspect my room to see how long it will take, which was amazing. Paps was another mover who was talkative yet professional at the same time. The movers protected my furniture with blankets and shrink wrap which was terrific. You can call her anytime, she is always available to answer a question or concern. My movers were Will, Thomas and Cameron. I needed an electronic lift recliner moved before I have major surgery. Tammy was the only mover I called who would even offer to help. She was so accommodating and caring. Much appreciated. If you are moving, do not even consider using anyone else. Call them immediately, and ask for Cameron and Kyle, if possible. These men were SPRINTING to and from my house. They were so quick and so efficient. They will disassemble/reassemble anything they need to, and not once did I have the feeling that they weren't moving as quickly as possible. They offered me helpful advice along the way about how to hook things up, etc. and they were extremely respectful. Tammy was flexible and worked with me when I needed to bump back a day! No surcharge for moving on a weekend. I shopped around and they have very reasonable rates. Tammy called the day before to confirm- and about an hour before the guys arrived to let me know they were running on time. Even with the crazy rainy weather! Great movers! I used them twice within two weeks for a complicated situation and they were extremely understanding and helpful. I wish I could remember all the men who helped me move by name - but I had Cameron and Pops yesterday who went above and beyond. I have used this company twice now to make moves within Austin. Both times my moves were quick and easy (as easy as moving could possibly get!). There were thunderstorms forecasted last weekend when I moved, and Tammy was great about keeping me updated on if my moving plans would need to be altered.
