So usually, I only come to Yelp to write good reviews.. so here we go. The staff at Aurora is simply unreal. I used to go to a salon they owned previously in scottsdale and then they took a break and opened this salon in gilbert. I live 40 minutes away and drive all the way here to get my nails done. For someone on a tight schedule and who is very picky, they always accommodate to me. I have never in my life driven that distance for my nails... but they are well worth it. My nails are always in perfect condition -- I am three weeks into my current full set and they are still on and looking amazing, minus natural grow out. I lived in LA... with the boujiest nail techs and serious talent, and I still have not had better nails than I do at aurora. shape is PERECT, design is always flawless. I highly highly recommend!!!!! they have my loyalty forever. read more

To add based on the owners response: Notice how the problem I had, which was his behavior, wasn't addresses. I've never asked for cuticles to be cut, I actually do them myself which is funny to add and lie about that. I've uploaded my nails to show what I've gotten the past few times. I've been coming to aurora since they first opened. A lot of people come and go but for the most part their okay. However, their prices are never consistent. I've paid $45, $65 and $95 for a FILL. Yes it depends on what you get, but i usually get the same thing since I'm not allowed for work to get many options. The PROBLEM is the owner, he is rude and not very welcoming. Never says Hi, or how are you or have a good day. And it's not because he is busy, usually he's behind the desk on his phone or on the couch. The owner sets the tone so the past few months it's been like that with everyone. If you want to spend your hard earned money on nails and quality of customer service, go somewhere else. read more

This place is overpriced for no reason, paid $75 for thick, and misshaped nails. Not only that but the owner was doing my nails and kept getting up multiple times to help other people. He kept answering phone calls, helping other customers and basically rushed my nails. I showed him a design and it does not look like it AT ALL. Save your money and go to another location. Terrible customer service. read more

Have come here for my past few new sets. Nikki does my nails exactly how I ask, paying attention to details. I go every 2 weeks because my nails grow quickly, but even after that long, they're still in good shape ! Very happy w/ my nails every time & highly recommend this spot. read more

SEE. JAN. THE. OWNER. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!! I searched and searched for a new nail tech when I moved from Chicago in May. (I am PICKY). I found Jan at another location and when he told me he was opening his own place I. WAS. SO EXCITED. I don't care how far he goes, I'm following!! Every set he SLAYS my nails. Every pic I show him- he's like "easy". And does it better than the photo! Every. Time. This is also why I send all my friends to him! Price is really good for what I get as well!! I love his work so much I'd let him do whatever bc he's THAT talented. My nails also never lift!! And last 3-4 weeks (if I don't get the urge to change them before hand) One last thing- THE SALON IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!! read more

I would give less than 1 star if I could. Went in one time with my daughter, on the recommendation of my daughter in law who had been a customer on a first name basis for over a year. Right off the bat the male manager is staring at my daughter and commenting on her appearance. I was a little put off but disregarded it as him being nice in a slightly off-putting way. After my service I noticed that my nails started to lift within 4 days which is really unusual for me. Based on that, I decided I would not to go back to Aurora. But, it gets better. A week or so later, my daughter went back and purchased a $50 gift card for my daughter in law who was at that time continuing to frequent the salon. My daughter paid for the gift card and left the salon. When my DIL went to use the gift card the same male manager said "no money was ever loaded onto the card". So, my daughter went and got the proof of debit from her bank account, and yet the same male manager of the salon absolutely refused to acknowledge their error in loading the gift card. Coincidentally, the purchase of the gift card was at the same time as they changed their system so the possibility of having a technical error seems likely. For the business to not acknowledge this possibility and make good on a gift card that was actually proven to be purchased there is just a horrible business practice. He actually said to my DIL "what do you want, for me to take it out of my pocket?" Well, YOU TOOK IT OUT OF OUR POCKET when we paid for the gift card that you didn't honor, so in actuality YOU PUT IT IN YOUR POCKET! What you really should be doing is acknowledging your error and honoring the gift card, plain and simple. I mean, HOW DID WE EVEN GET THE PHYSICAL GIFT CARD IN THE FIRST PLACE IF IT WASN'T PURCHASED, PAID FOR AND HANDED TO US BY YOUR STAFF? And don't bother saying it had been used, because if it had been you would have had a record of it and you would have easily been able to document that. But you didn't, because you can't. Bottom line, you dumped on a long time customer over your $50 error. SHAME ON YOU. There are literally hundreds of nail salons in the vicinity, so you might want to actually value your customers instead of treating them like a nasty little byproduct of your at best sup-par nail salon. DO BETTER AURORA NAIL BAR! I am certain in the end, you will lose far more than the $50 you took from us over your lack of ethics and professionalism in how you handled this situation. read more

Well I've actually loved going to this place however the last few times have not been the best. From being overcharged to the max and not one but two painful cuts. This is two weeks after going in to get a fill and a pedicure, I brought my little sister with me and she got a full set and a pedicure. This was the second time I brought her with me. I wasn't going to leave a review but after two weeks of my toe still hurting and still thinking about how overcharged we were, here I am. I brought my little sister here the end of March. We both got full sets and a pedicure the total was $285 for both of us. We both got full sets and a deluxe pedicure and so I wasn't really thinking much. But then when we got home my sister was complaining of her foot, he not only removed calluses but her heel? Owie. This time although my nails look beautiful, While I was getting my toes done I kept having to tell the guy "ouch" as he was drilling into my toe trying to get the previous gel off. It got hot and I told him it was hot, he continued. It was BLOODY, and still had to pay full price for my toes. I got a FILL and she got another full set, we both got pedicures. The price this time was $280. Only $5 less than when I got a full set?? Wow.. They do not talk about pricing AT all while doing your nails. I'm sad because this salon is really conveniently located and I do love some of the nail techs there, but I'm disappointed at the last few experiences I've had and how much $$ I've been overcharged. read more

I've been coming here for almost a year and while the service is hit or miss, I've continued to come because being able to get your pedicure and manicure at the same time is really a timesaver. My sister-in-law got me a $50 gift card for my birthday on October 28 (Coincidentally right around the same time they were switching their computer systems), And I just tried to use this gift card last week and the extremely rude male manager (who often blurts out Inappropriate things) told me that the gift card had no money on it and he was not willing to do anything to resolve. He was just a complete a** and said "what do you want me to take the money out of my own pocket" as a business owner myself, This is not the way the situation should have been handled. He should have taken a step back knowing that he knows me by first name and that I've come in there for almost a year now and questioned well gosh, how else would she have a gift card if not purchased? Totally understand Technological mistakes happen, but his attitude and unwillingness to even have a conversation was definitely one star. Will not be returning nor will my family or friends. read more

I got my nails done here twice the first time they did a good job it was a simple set, the second time I came in they taxed me I paid 170$ for a nail set that wasn't worth it my diamond fell off just a few days later, I will not be returning! They do raise their pricing as they please for slight work, people like this are greedy and the way they service is so rushy, not worth 170$ they should definitely let you know know prices before proceeding. Update: two more diamonds have fallen off since today after going to fix them mind you I went Monday , I don't do anything with my nails for my Jewls to pop off like that, your product is definitely cheap, and my diamonds should not be coming off every other day, I highly recommend no one to come they're a rip off and use cheap products! I have definitely paid 170$ before on a nail set from another shop and my nails and diamonds lasted a month, I don't mind paying for good quality but this wasn't the best at all, definitely won't be trying out other places I'll stick to what I know !!! These are my nails that were "suppose" to be 200$? I only had them for 4 days and my diamonds popped off after getting them fixed they came off again? I'm not rough with my nails at all, and I will definitely pay for good quality but this wasn't it, they're pretty, but for the price and the way the glue is sticking out around the diamonds was not what I would expect to get for that price, and the diamonds are on each finger but they're definitely not covered! read more

Soo I went to get my nails done at aurora. I have been here before loved their work. Last time I went I got a pedicure and a full set. Everything was fine but my two thumbs were super sore and on fire it felt like. Went to bed work up the next morning to it swollen black and blue and filled with liquid all around my cuticles. I went in because I couldn't take it anymore. They did not take off the nail but sanded it down. They first told me it was a reaction to the acrylic. . Than admitted that it was an infection. . I got my money back but it doesn't help my finger. Please beware. read more

I came here today since it's right next to the grocery store . I asked for the dip which is usually pretty strong . After 4 hours I have 3 chipped and broken nails . The guy doing my nails only did one dip of clear and one of the color I chose . Usually I get a few passes in the dip . There was also no tip coat applied . I chose black and you can literally see through my nails . Would not recommend this place to anyone . Also this whole visit was over $60 . read more

Not much of a nail person but my girlfriend went in for her nails at this location. There wasn't much of a welcoming, more of a "sit here and wait". She went in for a full set with bling, the nail itself looked fine but when it came to the bling, there wasn't much communication from the lady doing the nail. She kind of just ranted with her co-workers and went overboard with the bling. The bling wasn't straight nor was the end result pretty. She was charged ~ $145.00 read more

The salon is very aesthetically appealing and clean. The employees were quite, not very chatty which is actually a plus to me! :) I did have some issues with my all gel nails peeling/chipping after only 12 hours (not sure what happened here, maybe the polish was old?). I went back in the next day and they were very kind and apologetic and did a great job redoing my nails. Both times they were able to get me in quickly without a wait, lots of employees! My new gel set has been great with no chipping or peeling! A little pricey, $35 for a gel manicure but manageable. I will definitely be returning here. Only losing a star because it is a bummer to have to go back in to get something fixed regardless of their great accommodations. I plan on making this my new nail spot! :) read more

Absolute rudest staff I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I had an appointment but when I got there, she was already seeing another person. The young manager with short black hair refused to do services because she had to watch the store and another young male worker said he had an appointment. They both proceeded to be on their phones for the next 40 minutes and lo and behold his "appointment" didn't show up. They never say thank you they are very impatient. laziest workers I've ever seen. The store is not clean. It was dirty and dusty. They had alcohol bottles open on the counter open coffees sitting everywhere. None of the stations have been cleaned. Do do not go here! read more

I told the manager I would update my review so here it goes. After my last update the manager decided to finally reply back to me asking me to come in to fix my nails. I agreed. I went in after work and he sat me down in his chair. He proceeded to tell me he knew who I was based on how bad my nails looked. He also told me he could see why my nails (4) had broken. He said the tech filed them down to thin at the tips. He apologized and had someone else come finish my nails. A couple of days went by and I had not got around to updating my review as I'm busy with a wedding now 5 days away. The manager messaged me a nasty message calling me an evil customer. He told me I was out to get a free set of nails. He was completely unprofessional. My nails are breaking once again. I have two more that broke off. Before waking into this nail salon my nails were hard and healthy. They felt like I had acrylics on. Now they are soft and breaking off one by one. I also would like to mention this nail tech also shaped my nails all different shapes. Some are square. Some are rounded. I only asked for square. I guess the moral of my story is you shouldn't stray away and cheat on your nail techs because something opened closer to home. I'm paying big time for this. Stay clear. read more

I have never been more disappointed in a nail salon In my 20 years of going to salons. The woman who did my pedicure had the most filthy nails/ hands I've seen. She reminded me of a kid getting out of the play ground all day. Also very sharp poking nails into my toes and scratched my leg. Then she was very rough on my nails and burning me over and over with the drills. I got a 3 min massage on my calf's. She didn't even massage my feet. Who gets a pedicure without a foot massage. They still charged me 48 dollars for a pedicure that was the least relaxing and most terrible experience I've ever had. I will never go back. read more

Took my 3 daughters 9,12 and 15 years old to get their nails done for back to school. I told them exactly what they wanted. Color, shape, etc and when checking out the bill was outrageous. Now keep in mind I looked at menu price and told them off that. They said they did something different, and never asked my daughters for permission nor myself. They also said the shape for nail was extra but no where in menu was that shown. The bill for 4 of us was $350! A gel mani/pedi, dip nails, pedi, acrylics for teen girls. They took advantage of my girls and when I asked them if they were asked if they wanted something else they said not once did they speak to them. They were on their phone via AirPods or didn't even acknowledge them. Never going here again. And also they down right took advantage of my girls. If I could put a negative star I would. Ridiculous.
