I have a feeling my first time at Auntie's House certainly won't be my last - quick and friendly service, generous portions, and incredible flavor combos. They. Do. Not. Skimp. On. Toppings. I opted for a build-your-own bowl, starting with jollof rice as my base and steak for my protein. Both were so good, I could have had them standalone. But when you mix in lettuce, cucumbers, jalapeños, and corn, plus Auntie's Spicy Mayo and Garlic White Sauce, this bowl was truly next level. When fresh meets saucy, it's a 10/10 for me. I tend to get a bit creative with build-your-own experiences, but everything came together so well with the peppers and seasoning. I can't wait to try their signature bowls - don't fret, there are plenty of great options to choose from if mine sounded a bit all over the place ;) We ordered plantains as well - sweet, fresh, and the perfect texture. No complaints here; these were such a treat and paired so well with the bowl. Honestly, I'd have them standalone too. Though I took the bowl to-go, the dining room had ample seating and was well-kept. I loved the chill patio vibes and would definitely dine in on my next visit. You may have to opt for street parking if the lot is full, but Auntie's House is absolutely worth the visit for a hearty, saucy, flavor-packed bowl. read more

I looooove this spot! It was our first time there and it's already one of my favs. Food: I ordered the jollof rice with stewed chicken and added some veggies to it. The sauce I used was the jerk sauce and I asked for the garlic sauce on the side. Talk about flavor town! Everything tasted so amazing, fresh and the seasoning within the chicken and rice was perfect. Also, the portion was huge! It became 2 servings for me. No complains there! I also ordered small cachupa soup with was very tasty and hearty. Service: We had the nicest experience. The staff was super helpful and kind. They were patient with our indecisiveness and gave us some laughs too. They were also very fast. Ambiance: It might look small but it's actually a good space with seating. My friend went to Auntie's House twice and recommended it to me. Auntie's House is where Afro-Caribbean flavors meets Halal goodness. There is a small parking lot next to the Auntie's House sign and street parking available. When I walked into Auntie's House, there was already a queue even though they had opened 10 minutes before. Meals are customizable to the customers. First stop is choosing your protein, rice, and if you want to add beans and grilled peppers. For protein, there is chicken, steak, pork, and shrimp. For rice, there was Jollof, Vegetable Fried Rice, Rice & Peas, Yellow, and White. The next stop is choosing your toppings and sauce. For toppings, there was salad mix (chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions), cabbage, corn, cucumbers, jalapeños, and scallions. For sauce, there was Auntie's Spicy Mayo, Garlic White Sauce, Avocado Sauce, Jerk Sauce, BBQ, Blue Cheese, Sweet Chilli, Hot Sauce, and Ketchup. I chose the Shrimp over Jollof Rice bowl with salad mix (chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions), corn, and jalapeños with Auntie's Spicy Mayo on the side. Staff were very friendly. There are about 4 tables inside if you want to eat in which I did. The whole bowl was packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the zesty shrimp and the jollof rice. Auntie's Spicy Mayo also has a nice kick. During the span of an hour that I was at Auntie's House, a good amount of customers came through ordered and left. My husband had the Chicken over Jollof Rice bowl and he enjoyed it as well. I would like to try the chicken next time. read more

I've had Auntie House a couple of times now since I can get it through DoorDash, and honestly the portions are huge for what you pay. Everything has been super fresh every time. I kept forgetting to take a picture the first two times, so luckily the third time I finally remembered. I'm completely hooked on the chicken over yellow fried rice. The chicken is juicy, packed with flavor, and just hits every time. I didn't even know you could do half and half, so next time I might try half yellow fried rice and half rice and peas. I've tried the steak and shrimp before and they were good too, but the chicken is my favorite. The toppings are very generous, and their sauces are great, I really like the avocado salsa. And if you want a little sweet with your savory, the sweet plantains are a perfect add on. My only wish is that they had sweet desserts or if they do, that they add them to the DoorDash menu. The food is fresh and delicious!!!! The place is a good size ...... All the workers were busy and polite!!!! I added the protein oxtail to my chicken and rice and veggies.... The worker recommended the chipotle sauce to the meal...... it was a 10/10 for me!!!!! The parking lot is not that big and street parking is limited....... Other than that it was fantastic!!!!! Tried Auntie's House tonight for the first time. Cute little bistro/cafe. We were greeted by smiling friendly employees who were working hard through a busy dinner rush. Now on the the best part, the meal was a bowl of delicious food that we controlled by making selections during the entire assembly process. I selected a base of rice and beans, topped by grilled chicken breast, lettuces, cucumbers, onions, scallions, tomatoes, etc. Finished mine with a delicious bleu cheese sauce. I came here on a weekend, after weeks of seeing ads for this place on social media. I wasn't sure if it is their parking lot, but I parked in the lot to the right hand side of the building. There is also street parking around. When I walked in, I was welcomed with warm smiles, a blend of good smells, and upbeat music. I think the staff could tell it was my first time so they walked me through the process of building a meal. I went with a bowl, half yellow rice and half jollof rice. For the protein, I choose their stew chicken but it was honestly a tough choice since everything looked excellent. On Sundays, they make oxtail which I was very close to getting. I got almost all their toppings and for the sauces, I got the garlic sauce and a chipotle one I think. The total was around $18 which may sound like a lot, but it was very heavy and enough for two people to leave satisfied. We ate inside, and while eating, noticed that a lot of people order from here so it's a pretty popular choice. The chicken was a tiny bit spicy but more than anything resembled an adobo/chipotle flavor. The rices were good, but very hard to find buried under everything else. The toppings were fresh and contributed different flavors in each bite. I love garlic but I did notice that the garlic sauce had a strong, raw taste. Rating: 4.3 Came to try Auntie's house since we were around the area. It's a restaurant similar to Baja's, cavas and chipotle where you choose your base, proteins, toppings and sauce. The place seemed to be newer but was quite busy as they already have some customer base. Inside is small but offers few seatings and counter where you order your food. The place is minimalistic but is clean and has some African background music. The restaurant primarily focus on fusions of West African, Latin, and Caribbean food. I ordered rice bowl with jollof rice, chicken, steak, onions, corn, cilantro and mix of jerk sauce, white garlic sauce, and aunties spicy mayo. Meal also came with drink from the fridge. The food was flavorful and spiced well. Chicken was nice and tender, the steak was a bit dry. Jollof rice was delicious although the rice may have been a bit overcooked. Sauces were good and they let you try before you pick them as well. What differentiates this place from other competitors are the variety of sauces they offer and the base option. Service was relatively quick and staff were nice. Overall the place was good. Relatively cheap and good quick eats around the area. I would come back if i'm around the area and try their other protein options. I can see why it's popular by the locals. read more

A solid spot if you're craving Jamaican food. The setup is similar to Chipotle--you choose your rice, protein, and then add toppings and sauces. I went with a mix of jollof rice and rice and peas, along with chicken and shrimp. I added vegetables, spicy mayo, and garlic sauce. The portion size is massive; it lasted me 2-3 days. We've been following this business on Instagram and have been looking forward to trying their build your own rice bowls. The reviews have been great and when we arrived last night, there was a line out the door of people waiting to order. When it was our turn at the counter, we were greeted with a smile and thanked for coming out to try the food. They had run out of a few things, but while we were talking, hot and fresh food was brought out and refilled so we were good to go. We ordered 3 jollof rice bowls, one with shrimp, one with chicken, and one with pork. We had them topped with our favorite veggie options and asked for some sauces on the side so we could try them (garlic white sauce, spicy mayo, jerk, and BBQ) and they were all good. This is a Jamaican African bowl style restaurant located in Pawtucket. I saw it pop up on TikTok and I was intrigued since I live right around the corner! There's limited side private parking. There was already a line and some of the meats were running low, but I noticed staff were right on it, cooking up a new batch! The screen had a list of steps with options and house special bowls! I ordered a rice bowl of jollof rice with some freshly done chicken as my protein~ I added some greens and I was stuck on the sauces~ TikTok videos referenced all said this was the best part because it ties all the flavors together. I think it was the owner who was behind the counter (I recognized him based off the tiktok videos). He saw me stare at the screen debating what to added and he asked if I wanted to try the sauces~ the list was long and he gave a dab on the back of my hand, one by one! We didn't get through the whole sauce list because I was hooked on Aunties Sauce(spicy mayo), hot sauce (has a kick and I asked for a little around the bowl) and jerk sauce (tangy sweet). I honestly loved that I was offered the option to try, especially since the list is so long and I could've easily held up the line. It made my experience great and my food experience worth it. First impression was phenomenal because I enjoyed it flavors I liked. Every bowl comes with a drink. Portion was heavy and large, so this will make great leftovers. This spot had plenty of seating and most take these orders to go. We sat down and every table was clean and it looked like this place was making great business with locals. Very busy but staff made every order go quickly and gave very friendly service. Will come again since this is so close to my home! read more

This was my first time at this location after seeing it on TikTok. The location is easy to find, it is a small inside with a few tables to dine in. The line went fairly quick, there is an option to call in your order in Yelp. There is a choice of meat or shrimp and rice. I chose the salad option with steak and shrimp. I would say my steak pieces had mostly fat so I would opt for the shrimp and try the chicken next time. There are plenty of add on options and sauces. They also have soda or water to purchase. The prices are reasonable priced. Everyone was super friendly. My partner and I just went here, super friendly and fun atmosphere with a lot of energy and enthusiasm from the staff! Fantastic recommendations, my bowl is delicious, this is easily one of the best things I've eaten this year! The pork is so juicy and yummy and not dry at all, and the jollof has lots of flavor and a good spice on the back half of the flavor. I haven't even talked about the sauces yet!! The jerk sauce blew me away, I knew from the grin on the staffer when I asked for it, but each bite keeps me coming back for more. food is 10/10 . absolutely delicious . tore my bowl up ! been following them on tik tok and wanting to try ever since and i'm so glad i did . my ONLY gripe is i paid up charge for shrimp and got like 4 shrimp. after seeing how generous the portions are on tik tok i was a little surprised at how stingy they were with the shrimp. The waiting area inside is bright, colorful, decorated with some personal tokens, assorted cookbooks and accolades. You can just see into the kitchen and suddenly the chef and owner, Milena Pagán will appear over the cafe style doors to greet you and get you checked in for your reservation. Highly recommend a reservation if you plan to come on the weekend. The place was busy! We were taken to our spots at the bar and greeted by Milena's partner, Darcy. He took care of us from start to finish. I could not resist the brunch prie fixe menu for $45. What a steal. An entree, house made pastry, juice/coffee/tea and one of the house cocktails. I chose the shakshouka, a cardamom knot, the guava-pineapple fizz and the rebujito. I also added an iced horchata latte because I was at brunch after all! We had our drinks and pastries in front of us quickly. My juice was refreshing, tangy and just a hint of sweetness. I love guava and this was exactly what I wanted. The latte was simple but effective, hitting the spiced notes you want from horchata with the depth of good espresso to back it up. The latte in particular was delicious with the cardamom knot, the two harmonizing together for a moment of heaven on this rainy Sunday afternoon. The outside of the knot was caramelized in spots adding this great crunch and the inside was soft like a cinnamon bun. My friend mentioned it was one of her favorites and I can see why! When the shakshouka came out, the smell hit me first. Warm tomatoes, the herbs from the chimichurri, and the tostones fresh from the pan. The presentation is beautiful, inviting you to dig in immediately. I of course opted for the smashed avocado upgrade and they thoughtfully plated it on the side. I like to taste everyone together so I added it to my skillet, and began eating the dish using my tostones as my utensil. It was amazing. All those smells I mentioned before played through beautifully in the tasting. It was one of the best dishes I've ever had. My only wish was for more tostones but I know if I had asked for an additional side, they had that as an option to take. I'll make sure to do that next time! The rebujito cocktail was something I hadn't tried before so I was looking forward to it. It felt like the kind of drink you have on a hot summer day. Similar to a mojito, but with good sherry as the base alcohol instead of rum. As a side note, I think it's an incredibly clever to create a cocktail menu around sherry when you have a beer and wine license. Using a fortified wine? Brilliant. But after my experience here today, I know that brilliance is in every brick of that space. If you were like me and haven't made the trip to this spot on the corner of Hope and Rochambeau, please fix that ASAP! I can't wait to go back, and bring all my friends and family here so they can share in what I enjoyed today. Just an incredible meal and service.
