The unfortunately long line might be due to it being the holiday season and Santa as well as the Elf Academy area are right by Auntie Anne's. Does that mean they are Santa approved?! But the long line was my only big letdown from this location and they probably are not this busy any other time of year. Considering the rush, the gals behind the counter did try their best to keep up with the hot pretzel demand. I'd take an Auntie Anne's over a the more prominently located (at least in this mall) Wetzel Pretzel in a heartbeat so definitely worth the wait! This elf approves!!

    Two buckets of pretzels.

It is estimated that Americans consume about two pounds of pretzels each year. Have you fulfilled your yearly quota? Want to? For $60, you can get two buckets of pretzels, some dip, and four drinks for you and the homies. Every now and then, the wifey wants a freshly baked pretzel. At Auntie Anne's, the egg wash over the pretzels really makes them super crispy. With the warm fluffy center, it's easy to see why they're so addicting. So come here and get a pretzel.

    Who will be the winner?

"When you take a bite into a hotdog, you're making a pact with the devil." ― Shane Madej, Buzzfeed I wrote a Wetzel's Pretzels review four years ago as a joke between me and my Seattle homie Marc M. He had always said that Auntie Anne's was the superior mall pretzel. Never really thinking about it, I recently started popping into the mall more and since then, grabbing some soft pretzels became routine. Whether it's the pretzel nuggets with hot dogs or pretzel nuggets with pepperoni, it's always one or the other. So just for funsies, we did a side-by-side soft pretzel throwdown between Wetzel's and Auntie Anne's on who had the superior pretzel. Hands down, we love Auntie Anne's! The crispy exterior from that egg wash makes such a big difference and the inside is fluffy like an alpaca! The people who work here are A LOT nicer too. So while this Auntie Anne's is tucked away in a part of the mall I don't usually go to, I'll go out of my way for their pretzels. You gotta visit your Auntie!

It's an expensive pretzel but who doesn't love these? Don't forget the dip it's a difference maker.

Cashier appears kind of clueless and not in a very happy mood. It's as if she doesn't want to work there at all.

Something different and well worth the price. My biggest complaint is I might be a pretzel addict now!

I've had Italian Beef before. I've loved Italian Beef before. But nothing--NOTHING--prepared me for the transcendent, jaw-dropping, flavor-explosion experience that is ordering the Big Beef DIPPED at this Chandler location. If you haven't done it yet, you haven't lived. And if you've had it elsewhere but haven't had it here with their cheese sauce... well, buckle up, because you're about to discover your new favorite thing on the entire planet. From the second you walk into Portillo's on Ray Road, you can smell the magic--crisp sport peppers, rich au jus, and that unmistakable aroma of slow-roasted beef that makes your stomach growl instantly. But the real moment of truth comes when you look that server in the eye and say: "I'll take the Big Beef, DIPPED, LOADED with cheese sauce. And I mean loaded." Watch their face light up--they know. They understand. This is not just a sandwich; it's a ritual, and this location performs it with reverence. Then it arrives. Oh. My. Goodness. The bread is drenched--and I mean perfectly, gloriously drenched--in that deep, savory au jus, so every inch is saturated with rich, beefy flavor. It's not soggy; it's luscious. It's a sponge for joy. And then... the cheese sauce. Sweet, spicy, velvety, liquid gold--it's like someone took pepper jack, dreams, and a touch of heaven and whipped it into a creamy, molten ribbon that cascades over every millimeter of that dipped bread and tender, shreddy beef. The first bite is not just a meal--it's a religious experience. The crunch of the giardiniera, the pop of a sport pepper, the warm, juicy beef, the cheese sauce pulling in golden strands... it's an OMG moment so intense you might actually forget your own name for a second. You'll hear yourself making sounds you didn't know you could make. You might cry a little (happy tears). You might order a second one before you've even finished the first. And here's the thing--the Chandler location executes this with flawless, almost artistic precision. The line moves fast, the staff is smiling, and they don't skimp. They don't hold back on the beef, they don't drizzle the cheese sauce like it's an afterthought--they PILE IT ON with pride. You can tell this team lives for these moments. They're not just serving food; they're delivering pure, unadulterated happiness. Even the atmosphere feels electric--like everyone in the room knows they're about to have their day made. You'll see strangers nodding at each other in mutual respect over their sandwiches. You'll hear "OMG!" echoed across the dining room (seriously). And when you finish that Big Beef Dipped--cheese sauce glistening on every corner, not a drop of au jus left--you'll sit back with a food coma smile so wide it hurts, already plotting your next visit. Bottom line: If you are within 50 miles of 7200 W Ray Rd, you have no excuse. Go. Right now. Order the Big Beef DIPPED with EXTRA cheese sauce. Thank me later. And maybe bring a napkin--because that cheese sauce is so good, you're going to want to lick every last drop off your fingers. Five stars? Try FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS PLUS A STANDING OVATION! This is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be this good.

That's when Chandler Blvd was still two lane road and called Williams Field road. We enjoy Espos for Tacos Tuesdays. We arrived a little before 7pm and waited for about 5 minutes to order. They called our number about 5 minutes later. Pretty efficient service as there was constant traffic. They offer 10 street tacos for $12.50 with choice of ground beef, chicken, shredded beef, carnitas or carne asada on Tuesday's. We ordered 10 carne asada tacos to share. They offer a nice self serve topping bar that includes a generous selection, three sauces, pickled red onions, cabbage, lettuce, limes. Freshly made corn tortillas give the tacos a home made flavor. Although the tacos are small, sharing 10 provided a satisfying meal for us. They have table inside and on the patio. We opted for the patio as it was nice weather. Mexican music played in the background was pleasant and set a relaxing mood on the patio. Highly recommended!

So wife just about to bite down on the toothpick that was left in her flauta...huge safety risk! I ordered the carne asada plate that comes either burrito style or as a plate with flour tortilla; which is how I ordered it. Got home and no tortilla...too much to go back so let it go. Guacamole was way spicy today! This is where consistency is an issue because I think it depends on who is making it. Some days it's perfect and other days it's spicy hot like today. Overall everything was good and they were fairly busy but we didn't have to wait too long for our order.

This Whataburger location is a few minutes away from the casino on the way back to Phoenix. Ambiance (N/A): I used the drive through to place my order. Service (4/5): While service wasn't a big part of the experience, the lady taking my order was friendly. She also asked if I wanted regular or spicy ketchup. My food was ready within a reasonable period of time. All in all, what you hope for when you're ordering fast food. Drinks (4.5/5): I spent four years in grad school in North Carolina so I'm a big fan of sweet tea. Whataburger has freshly brewed sweet tea. And even their medium size is a Texas-sized cup. That makes their beverage options a winner in my book. Food (4/5): I'm from Texas and Texans are big on Whataburger. It's nice that they have several locations in Phoenix. It reminds me of home. Some of my favorite items on the menu include the honey butter chicken biscuit (on the breakfast menu), the honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich, the chicken tenders basket with gravy, and really any of their burgers (pretty solid for fast food). This time around, I went with the avocado burger which is served on Texas toast. It's not everyday you find avocado on the menu at a fast food joint. The burger was above average (I came in with the proper expectations). What I really enjoyed is the fries which were fresh (rather than sitting under a heat lamp like you typically get at a fast food restaurant). With their homemade ketchup, it made for the perfect side. Whataburger by no means has the best burgers in town. Not even close. But if we're talking fast food joints overall, they're top five in my book (I may be a little biased ;)).
