Wienerschnitzel is a place I remember coming to as a kid. Since hotdogs are I've of my top 5 favorite foods, you know I like wienerschnitzel. This place is not fancy. Put fast food. But kiddos for their patience when people are using more than one coupon. It's can be pricey for what you get, but they always have coupons online that make this place a real bargain. So it's been a while since eating here but you know you can always count on Wienerschnitzel and their consistency. We decided to dine in after a doctor's appointment nearby since we don't seem to have one in NE Mesa hint hint lol.. The dining room area was clean everything had been wiped down, the floors swept and friendly employees. The chili dog combo never disappoints a perfectly steamed hot dog and bun followed by ok chili and some cheese. I've only ever had the chili fries, and we ordered ice cream the time before, no complaints. My first time having the chili fries I was actually pretty impressed. I don't do a lot of fast food and I can say that the chili fries were pretty good both visits. My son is a super picky eater and to my surprise he wanted seconds of the chili fries so that says a lot right there ;)! Place was kept clean, not super cheap.. friendly helpful staff, the guy upfront was helpful anyway. Bathrooms are locked to only paying customers I get that.. maybe they hve a lot of issues idk so they're locked, but it's nice cus they're kept clean. read more

The drive thru is a curbed chute you cannot escape once you try to order and discover no one could be bothered to hang a simple paper sign at the entrance letting people know the ice cream machine is broken. So after you are trapped, and they tell you the ice cream machine is broken, you must sit there in line waiting for 3 cars to be served before you can escape. All because the simplest Curtesy of taping a piece of paper to the menu board is too much to be bothered with. Lazy and annoying. You'd think they'd like to save themselves the trouble of saying "the ice cream machine is broken" 50times a day, but nah, that would require being proactive, and walking 40 feet. I went into the store and there wasn't anyone else there. I like being able to quickly get my order done. I got a corn dog and it came out fairly fast, as it would since there were no other customers around. The store was clean and quiet. The corn dog came out hot and tasty. I could taste corn in the fried batter. I thought it tasted even better with ketchup. For me, I must have ketchup with hot dogs and corn dogs. I got it plain and I liked it better than with the chili. I had visited a different location on another occasion and the chili was off putting. I must say, I think corn dogs from here are pretty good. I like how the corn dog batter becomes crispy on the outside but stays soft on the inside. While I am not traditionally a fan of corn dogs, if I am in the mood for one, I think I will get it from this restaurant. I don't think I have tried corn dogs from anywhere else recently. read more

Haven't had Wienerschnitzel for quite some time and now I know why. My son had a plain hotdog with ketchup and fries. I ordered a chili cheese dog. There was very little cheese. It was a mess. It would be better to pack in boxes than wrapped in paper. My orange Fanta float wasn't good, either. The ice cream was too thick to mix with the drink. Good luck getting any hats at the one in Mesa, AZ. I ordered 2 hats 3 days ago tried to call everyday to make sure they had them. They never answer the phone. My pick up time was today at 4:30 pm. I tried to call again before driving clear over there. No answer. I go to pick them up Ryan the Mgr comes to the window apologizes to me and said we ran out today. I said I purchased mine 3 days ago why weren't they put back for my pick up? He says look I am sorry we don't have them. I can't help you. call the number on the website. I tried to ask his name but he slammed the drive thru window shut. This guy needs a serious attitude adjustment and does not belong as a Mgr dealing with customers. So I get my receipt at the bottom it states if you have any problem with your order call this number. Guess what the number is the Mesa store which they don't answer. By the way Chandler location doesn't answer their phone either. What's up with that? So I was only a couple of miles away so I drove back to the store and Ryan to explain to him the number on my receipt to call if I have a problem with an order is your number and you don't answer your phone. He got even nastier with me, repeating what he told me earlier to call the website. I asked him to give me corporates number. He wrote it down, handed it to me. I asked his name he mumbled it and then slammed the window in my face again. How can this guy be a manager? I put my car in park holding up drive thru until an employee finally answered the window and I got Ryan's name. So much for customer service. Not sure how I am going to get my money back and they need to quit advertising merchandise they don't have. I have a long history with Wienerschnitzel from growing up in California. Same great food and service. Great chili dogs and Polish sandwiches. The fries are not super crispy but they are consistent with how they prepared them all these years. Value is good. He was screaming profanity and punching counters. He was directing it at his employees. Afterwards, he continued to follow them around like a stalker. I grew up eating chili dogs from Wienerschnitzel, but this location makes it clear they care nothing about food quality or customer service, so run far, far away. Your fries will be lukewarm and limp. They will grace you with about two teaspoons of chili on your chili dog, if you're lucky. On our last visit when one item was missing cheese and we didn't receive another item the worker just gave us the thousand mile stare. No "I'm sorry about that" or "Wow, let me fix that for you" (They did take care of the problem, but they make you feel like you did something wrong.) Yikes - avoid at all costs! read more

I went to Wienerschnitzel today for lunch. I ordered a number one with cheese and onions. They have signs in the restaurant and on the restaurant windows about veterans discount. I let the lady know at the register that I was a veteran, and I was told "the meal is already discounted since it is a combo meal". I asked why advertise a veterans discount if you're not going to honor it. I was told nothing can be done already discounted because it's a combo. The lack of respect and common courtesy for veterans in this country is very sad nowadays. I hope everyone enjoys their freedom while we still have it. read more

However, I was trying to order a onion and mustard bratwurst- she told me she had never heard of a bratwurst and didn't have any idea what it was. Uh- ok...maybe look at the menu? Nope, said they didn't have bratwursts but if I told her the ingredients they could make one. Wait, What? I looked around thinking maybe someone was playing a joke on me. On a slow night, driving around the streets, I happen to find a Weinerschnitzel close by over here, in a few weeks ago, I was also given some coupons. After trying out this particular location that I haven't been to, customer service was fantastic, arranged my order perfectly on what I use with my coupons, and the food was great. I ordered myself a six pack jalapeño poppers just to try them out because they looked intriguing to taste. They came out hot and crispy, the texture had a light crunch, and it was overall delectable. After viewing in the bag, they were very generous enough to give me another paper full of coupons for the next time I come back and someday, I definitely will! read more

I absolutely love this location. They are always friendly, and get my orders correct. I did have one time where they shorted me a corn dog, but they were very apologetic and showed empathy. That's all you can ask for in a fast food environment. No, this isn't some fancy place to bring a first date ( I would have loved going to Wienerschnitzel on a first date!) but it's honestly better than 90% of the fast food places in regards to service. If I could give negative stars I would. We come to this place about three times a month or more but will not be back. Just like every other time we come here we arrived and my son needed to use the restroom. He is 11 years old and had bladder issues. As his dad asked for the key while we going to order they refused us the key and stated we needed to order first. At this point we were calm and told him we will order but can we please have the key and will order while he's in the bathroom. The employee Larry was very rude and refused to allow us to use the restroom despite us being ready to order food. We asked to buy a drink and he stood there with his arms crossed smirking stating he can refuse service to us. At this point I was genuinely upset that he would not allow my son to use the restroom until we ordered and then would not allow us to order. He then refused to serve us and told us to leave. How could someone be like this to a child first of all. The next day we contacted the manager who stated that what his employee said and did was legal. When we asked what would've happened if my son's bladder exploded or if he ended us urinating in himself in the restaurant the manager stated he would've called the police on our 11 year old son. Ummm, is this real meat? It was a smooth, molded hot dog looking thing in a huge bun. No flavor. All bun. Even the mustard had no flavor. Maybe I was eating the wrapper instead of the hot dog substitute but I would have expected more from a place that had wiener (as in a type of German sausage) in the name. I'm reading all these negative reviews and that freaking sucks! I mean, I would definitely be uber pissed if I was one of those customers but I have never received that kind of negative service. Every time I've come to this location, I've been treated with respect - despite my crazy weird and oddly specific orders. Case in point, this place recently started the 25-cent mini corndog special and I took advantage of that shit in the worst possible way, let me tell you. So I roll up in this crazy confusing drive-thru like a G and I ask if it was possible to order 40 mini corndogs but to have them separated into 4 of those chili cheese fries boxes. Not only do I want them portioned this way, but I also ask for them to be topped with chili and cheese. Essentially, I was making chili cheese corn dogs. (Feel free to use my idea, Wienerschnitzel. It's gold. Just name the menu item after me.) Anyway, not only does the person taking my order say yes, she seems freaking excited to help create this arterial abomination.
