Food and service was amazing. Definitely a hidden gem on the water. They even have a boat dock.

I had the blackened scallops with potato salad and beans and rice as the two sides. The scallops had really good flavor and juiciness however the texture was off, they needed to have a more crisp outside instead it had the same softness throughout. If that can be changed I will definitely go back and try them again! read more

After a 40 minute wait when ordering another drink we found out that their water was cut off and they aren't taking any more people. You have to be kidding me. Where is the manager or even a single associate to come and tell customers that their water has been cut off?! Completely terrible customer service. Not a single person came to tell us what's happening, we found out from the bartender without warning. We will have to come back and give this another shot. We hope to have better service then. read more

We ate dinner this past Sunday around 6:30pm. The restaurant was very empty and we were a table of four with another large party in one room. The floor under and around our booth was a little dirty. We waited a while for someone to come take our order and bring drinks. I felt like my Zinfandel tasted a little "flat". Appetizers came quickly after that. The creamy crab soup was divine. The dinners were pretty good and I got the catch of the day. We had to ask a different waiter to refill our drinks. On the car ride home my daughter started getting stomach cramps and had diarrhea as soon as we got home. About three hours later I myself had painful cramps followed by three hours of diarrhea. My daughter had shared a piece of my fish at dinner.... Overall, I was disappointed in my birthday dinner at Aunt Kate's. I specifically chose it due to the high ratings. Maybe it's not that good in the winter months.....bummer. read more

Visited this establishment on two consecutive days. Sat inside on the first due to rain and outside the next day. Had two appetizers each day, mixed drinks on the first, and a pitcher of beer on the second. The food was very good on day 1, had fist dip and tuna. The food on day two, calamari, and fried shrimp was OK. Sauces lacked a kick/flavor. Will try again when back in town for dinner. read more

The food was mediocre, the presentation was poor. Mark our waiter was very nice and attentive. They were cleaning the floors around us as we finished our dinner and we had just spent over 200.00 there. We were VERY disappointed with the restaurant. We would tell everyone that this place DOES NOT represent the many fine eating places here in St.Aug. read more

This is a good spot for lunch. I got the Mahi Rueben which was good. It's a laid back and casual style, the inside is nothing to speak of but outside seating is nice. I watched everyone use the same dirty, wet rag to clean all the tables without rinsing it out or spraying cleaner on the tables. read more

Scallops grilled were plump and juicy, steak cooked MR just as ordered and fried shrimp soooo good!! Locals so thankful for this gem in our backyard. So happy we found this place. Located on the banks of the Tolomoto River. There is inside and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area is where to sit in my opinion. A huge deck with picnic tables and umbrellas surrounded by trees and water. At dusk the trees are all lit up. It's truly magical. There is also a bar inside called the Victory Bar. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions about a few things on the menu. They offer something for everyone here. Steamed oysters, soups, salads, blackened chicken, peel and eat shrimp and chowder. There are even a few early bird specials. When our entrees came out we also got a lovely basket of three different types of bread and butter to share. My favorite was the spiced cake bread. The peel and eat shrimp was delicious. So fresh and perfectly cooked. The fried shrimp basket was also delicious. The shrimp had a nice light tasty batter on them and came with a seafood sauce. It's a wonderful spot for fresh seafood and a gorgeous waterfront view. Bring your date or your group. Plenty of free parking. read more

Food is tasty. Love the atmosphere. Wonderful experience for little ones. Love going out on the dock.

Delicious meal that included a crab cake, mahi-mahi, shrimp and scallops. Enough for 2 people to enjoy. But why no hush puppies!?

The food was nothing special, over priced. Service was lacking. Our server had no personality!!!! We had 4 appetizers and only the mushrooms were ok gator bites were awful mostly breading hardly any gator. Very loud. Will not go back read more

Disclaimer: I'm definitely spoiled when it comes to waterfront dining. My entire life I've grown up on or near the water. I grew up in south Florida and just moved up A1A when I chose St. Augustine as my destination for college. So, beautiful views, though amazing additions to any meal, just don't suffice for me. My friends and I tried this place out for happy hour one night after work. They did have half priced domestic beer, specific wine, and single pour well beverages. I was a little disappointed however that they didn't have any half priced appetizers or anything like that. Despite that, we decided to try some of the apps. We ordered the conch fritters. These were pretty good and served hot with a key lime dipping sauce. We also got the tuna stacks which weren't bad (though I much prefer the tuna tostada at Salt Life). Just not much to share on that plate. The calamari was not very good compared to other restaurants in this town. It was heavily breaded and over cooked and bland. The catfish fingers were okay, but nothing special. My friend ordered a fish sandwich with provolone cheese and fries as her side. They sent her a sandwich with no cheese and beets on the side! The server fixed it but not sure why she didn't notice it and correct before bringing. Desserts were also overpriced and mediocre. In summary, come for the view and a drink--eat somewhere else if you can. read more

A typical American restaurant. We enjoyed the friendly staff. They could have been more working together instead of taking our orders several times. The food was very good (spare ribs). The place was nicely situated next to the water and at a walking distance of our campground. read more

My whole family loved our experience here, the food was wonderful and worth the money, we were having my son's birthday there and at the end the waiter gave us a family discount because of our huge party of people we had and we didn't even know they had one, so their waiter's and waitresses really care about their quest and Locals like we were. Three of us had lunch yesterday. Setting and ambiance is good but the food was not good. A whole flounder was so over fried the outer layer the was so hard there was very little fish underneath. a shame to spoil such a delicate fish. Mahi sandwich was also dry and the coconut shrimp were much like any fast food restaurant. Accompanied by 1 iced tea, I coke and 1 beer we felt that the bill of $82 was very expensive. read more

My first ever yelp review because I felt this restaurant needed it... To start my family came in for a birthday celebration at 2:30pm, a party of 12. Upon immediate arrival the hostess stand was not very happy and greet-able. Mind you they have a sign saying "We think our staff is amazing, please do not use unkind words if you think you can do their job better we have applications for you to apply", how inviting is that! I did not feel welcomed there. Second of all, almost an hour goes by we are waiting we check on our table and we are told "We told you an hour and it hasn't even been an hour yet" In a rude remark! I mean seriously how ridiculous. And then to top off this experience, I ordered fish tacos and this is literally how they came out... I was at a loss for words. How can you even send something out looking like this and with 2lbs of cheese on it. Needless to say it was not a great time. Only enjoyable thing was the mac and cheese and our waitress! read more

Waterfront view is awesome! They have two docks available if you want to come by boat. We started out with fried green tomatoes. They were breaded to perfection and the key lime sauce that comes with it is on point. We also had the steamed oysters; the portion was very generous. We shard the low country boil between four portions. Service was good. Definitely recommend! read more

Had originally ordered the crab cake dinner and was told they had not yet made it for the day so I needed to order something else. When the meal arrived I was then told that the crab cakes would be serving in about 15-20 minutes. Had I known that before I ordered, I would have waited; but that was not offered. The Mahi dinner I ordered was pretty bland and somewhat dry. The portion size was pretty large though. Next time I'm in the area I'll probably try somewhere else since this was disappointing. read more

Wow - what a disappointment. When you're given such a spectacular location, maybe you think it's good enough just to give folks a great view. I gave two stars because the view was fantastic and the server was adequate. Saturday night at 6:30, I was pleasantly surprised that we got a table outside immediately. I ordered the shrimp and grits - the shrimp tasted like it had been sitting in dishwater for several hours - spongy and tasteless. There were only 5 shrimp in the dish, normally a disappointment - but in this case, that was a blessing! The grits were fair - but it's hard to mess up grits. I've always said that bacon makes everything better, but after tasting their bacon mushroom gravy, I'll never say that again. I would have taken a picture, but it looked putrid. The bacon may have languished in the same dishwater with the shrimp because it was also tasteless. I didn't eat very much of the meal and the waitress asked if I would like an alternative to replace my meal - but as bad as this dish was, I really didn't think anything else would be worth trying. As we left, I noticed that the inside seating was almost empty except for a few tables - I'm not surprised how easily we were seated any more. read more

My family and I went to Aunt Kate's on a Tuesday evening - great location, beautiful views, but some of the most disappointing food we've had in a long time. Among us we had the fish tacos, shrimp salad, and alligator bites. The only edible dish was the alligator. The two stars are for the view, food gets zero - but I suppose when it's that pretty, the food doesn't have to be good to keep the doors open! read more

Lovely Surprise! Stopped at Aunt Kate's for lunch. It had a beautiful view and we sat on the deck. I had grilled mahi and my husband had the shrimp basket. The mahi was delicious. I had what they called "mixed vegetables" and it was fresh zucchini, summer squash, carrots and broccoli in a garlic butter sauce. A pleasant surprise. My husband's shrimp was light and crunchy and his French fries had to be homemade. Delicious. Service was great. Thanks, Amelia! I can't wait to go back. Luckily, we're staying nearby. read more

Went for a drive on A1a & found this place by accident. Had our 2 dogs along as well...was not a problem! We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, right on the Tolomato river. Gorgeous setting - water, sand, birds, sailboats, and fishermen. I had blackened tilapia soft tacos, he had the mahi reuben. Both were quite tasty! Our waitress was polite, warm, and friendly and the service was excellent. Went inside just to the restroom, the inside was quaint and clean. Restrooms were immaculate. We'll definitely come back - check this place out! read more

Went for lunch on a chilly day. Chose to be warm so we sat inside. The deck was beautiful and the view from there excellent of the Tolomato River. Not such a great water view from inside. They had a person singing and playing the guitar. He was a nice addition. We ordered the shrimp and sausage ettoufee which was a special. It was wonderful! Perfectly cooked shrimp, sausage, and topped with fried okra! The bread basket sampler was a nice assortment. Enjoyable meal and location. read more

I had heard about this place from a couple friends (good things, for that matter) and we were in the mood to try something new. The view is amazing, as many others have mentioned....the food however leaves a LOT to be desired. The bread basket got rave reviews from my wife and kids. I wouldn't know -- not a bread eater. Wife got the she-crab chowder that was good for about two bites and then the salt kicks in...it's like "would you like some chowder with that salt?" I got the low country boil -- mussels, clam, shrimp, snow crab, crawfish, corn, and potatoes. A platter of seafood in a seafood restaurant, should be pretty good, right? Wrong! The shrimp were REALLY over-cooked, the melted butter tasted really funny (maybe it was margarine or something?), the clams were rubbery, mussels were boiled to such an extent that they had little flavor, snow crab was good, but then you dipped it in the butter and it ruined it. The shrimp cocktail sauce looked home made and it was really good -- almost good enough to cover up the over-cooked shrimp. Crawfish really took in the flavor of the funny butter, so I'm not sure if they were any good or not. I didn't eat the corn or potatoes, but they both looked really overdone, too. My son got the fried shrimp and they were OK -- no Barnacle Bills or O'Steens. We might be back to test out some other menu items, just because of the location. The kids had a great time playing outside and burned up some of their energy. Maybe something else will impress, next time. Our bill for two adults (one of which only got soup) and two kids was $50 with the tip. Pretty pricey, I thought... read more

Relaxing table outside on the water...boats can dock and walk right in. Great server. Great food with hints of Key Lime throughout. Delicious breads... pumpkin, cornbread, cornbread with datyl pepper, all fresh. We had the shrimp and grits, fried oysters, fried green tomatoes, beets, collards, and award winning red clam chowder. All was great, although we didn't care for the tartar or the key lime infused sauce for the fried tomatoes. But these are just personal preferences. Went to Aunt Kate's for Valentines Day. My partner had Seafood Platter. $29.99. He loved it. He had to send scallops back because they weren't cooked all the way. Three cooked ones came and he was happy. The Mahi Mahi he said was the best he ever had. He ordered a side of onion rings which were delicious. I ordered the meatloaf with a tangy tomato sauce which was great!!! $16.99. It came with bolied red potaotes with garlic butter which was very good and flavorable.. I ordered coleslaw as a side. It was dry and tasted stale. No flavor at all. All portions were plentiful!! Highly recommend Aunt Kate's... read more
