You order at the register on an ipad which is really convenient and easy and once you order is ready, they walk your drinks/food over to you. The workers are quick and super nice! I've tried the matcha latte as this is my togo drink so I try this everywhere I go and honestly I can't complain. I get 50% sugar and it is just the perfect amount of sweetness (some places I put 50% and its still super sweet)! I have also tried the popcorn chicken here which isn't too shabby either. It's a bonus that this boba place open til late because it's good for us late night boba cravers. However, I wish my drink was just as good. It was my first time and the girl was super nice answering my questions about their drinks. There are 3 ways you can make an order, at the counter, a kiosk, or online to skip the line. Shortly after placing our order, we got the drinks. My bf ordered the lychee green tea (less ice, 75% sweetness) and I got the passion fruit mango green tea (less ice, 25% sweetness). My drink turned out to be even sweeter than my bf's. Every sip I drank tasted like straight syrup, not the same consistency but the flavoring was too sweet for me. It felt like they accidentally made it 100% sweet, but I didn't want to go back and ask them since we already left the place. The lychee green tea though was good! It tasted more natural, with bit citrusy sweet blended in the tea. I liked it more than my own drink honestly. So be careful and could always double check your drink before you leave. I remember around the time that Pokemon Go got really popular (theres 3 on this block) their teas really didnt seem that... tasty. It felt watered down at the time which was about 3 years ago. Now, i thought of revisiting this place, and even trying out their food this time- This is happening more and more often now because I work late, and they're open late, too. They have more flavors now, also have more options for toppings and their drinks actually taste like what you ordered. They often have special deals at this shop. They have deals like buy one get half off, they even have a special now for mother's day of buy one drink and meal get a drink another drink and meal for half off (even though you're getting both for yourself). You can choose between sitting inside or outside. The outside has a canopy and is shaded from the sun, and the inside has air conditioning and music. If you intend to stay for a long time and order more than once, i recommend sitting inside because you can get refills on certain drinks. *wink wink*. Just came back from AU79, my go to place for drinks with friends and family. I will never bring anyone there anymore. When asked about full serving of mix toppings why so less, THE BOSS said that's how it is and he work there for 20 years. I had the same drink for the longest time and never ever had so less of the toppings (ordered Full). Is this how AU79 treat its customers? THE BOSS refused to listen. I'm definitely living on the wrong side of the Coast. SoCal has many pockets of places that have boba spots. No matter which strip you drive up to, there will be a tea shop like 99.9999% of the time. That's why 626 is regarded as Boba Land. The interior is nothing special but for me, it's always about the drink more than the decor. My son has a knack for choosing and ordering BOMB ASS BOBA DRINKS. I don't know how he does it but I always take a sip from his and prefer it over mine. After placing your order, you wait until one of the staff members personally comes over to hand you your order. I thought that was a nice customer service touch and one that I have not seen at other places here. It's a winner when you don't expect much by looking at a drink but when you take that first sip, you're totally "wowed" by it. And immediately, you want to take another sip and another. I've been to the old location on SG Blvd and this one and I always know what I'm getting and get what I expect. Things like the sweetness consistency, boba consistency, boba sweetness/flavor, and tea flavor are always on point. There might be tea houses with nicer tea, cheaper prices, bigger quantities, bigger menu, more refined menus, etc., but I can always count on AU79 giving me what I want when I want it. I haven't had anything from here that I don't like. Au79 is tiny little boba shop situated on the west side of the plaza on Naomi and Baldwin and I'm so glad my girlfriend introduced me to it. To be honest I always thought it was a fancy and expensive boba spot just because of the outside of the building. That was quickly debunked when I finally stopped by to try a few things out. Their mango smoothie is my absolute favorite because it is perfectly blended and is smooth as silk. If you're not a fan of boba, lychee is always a great substitution. We split the 3-piece combo and it is perfect if you're in between big meal. It's packs with crunchy gator tots, sweet potato fries and popcorn chicken. Their indoor seating is still closed and a mask is required to order, but there is still lots of tables and chairs they have right outside. Will be back again. read more

You can call ahead or order online and when it's done they will send you a text too. The popcorn chicken here is bomb!!! I love it: it's worth every penny. Staffs here are super friendly and nice. Tea houses are popping up left and right, but AU79 will always have a special place in my heart. Whenever I am in the SGV, by either the San Gabriel or Arcadia locations, I almost always have to pick up some AU to-go. I could have had a dessert spree but I would still want AU for the road, or to save for the next day. There are so many competitive tea shops in the area, but Au has me faithful and hooked. I am 100% committed to the iced Honey Milk Green Tea ($4.50) with egg pudding ($0.50) and I love how they always give a complimentary upgrade to a large size for drinks to-go. The tea flavor is on point and that egg pudding has great taste and consistency. I really wish they had an Au in OC! *hint hint owners* I never have the chance to sit around since the SGV is so rich with good dessert spots to explore, but I notice that this seems to be a hot spot for students studying since they have outlets and wifi. If you like sitting outside, there is also an abundance of patio-ish seating where people are playing card games and socializing. The boba drinks here are just OK but it's still the most ideal place to study. Rose Milk Tea (4/5) - A hit or miss. The drink is sometimes good but still a 4 at best. Sometimes, this drink is too watery but they will remake it for you if you bring it up. The boba is good enough for me. Blue Mango Binga with Pink Boba (4/5) - Good slushy type of drink. The blue part of the drink doesn't seem to hold much flavor, it's basically just a sugary slush while the Mango portion is like a mango smoothie and holds most of the flavor. The pink boba is pretty good. Popcorn Chicken (3.5/5) - Not the best in the area but still decent. Personally, I find it more worth it to upgrade to the Large size or to order it with rice and veggies. Service - Also a hit or miss. Sometimes the popcorn chicken is out in 10 minutes, sometimes 20, you never know. Bring your own earphones or hope that the employees have good music taste. read more

Came here in the afternoon to see if the quality was the same as before and unfortunately it was not. The drinks my party ordered were with low amounts of sugar (0-50%), but all of them didn't have any taste besides sugar water. AU79 used to be a staple boba spot for me years ago, I still remember the days when it used to be the cool spot to chill at during the evenings. Lots of new boba spots have popped up since and I stopped going for a long while, but recently became obsessed all over again. I forgot how good their teas are - esp their Jasmine green tea, it has a more fragrant Jasmine flavor than most other places, it's similar to TenRen's but I personally think AU makes it better. I love their pink boba, always the perfect consistency and their mini boba option is always fun to drink too. I'm currently hooked on all things Hokkaido and their Hokkaido cream topping is so freaking good every time, I get the Jasmine GT topped w Hokkaido Cream and it is bomb, the cream tastes like White Rabbit candy, so yumms! Other of my regular drinks are their almond green milk tea and rose green milk tea, unlike other places, you can get these drinks completely unsweetened which I appreciate when I'm not craving sweet. Their rose gt is made w actual rose tea which is so much better than the syrupy stuff you get elsewhere. Shoutout to the staff at Au79 for being so understanding and accommodating of my dietary needs. When I inquired if the milk tea was made with non-dairy creamer, she said yes, but then went and double checked. She then came back and told me that the creamer is "non-dairy" in that it's made to cater to folks who are lactose intolerant but it might not be vegan friendly as it contains some sort of milk protein. She then suggested that I could just sub the creamer for soy milk to make it vegan. I then asked for boba, but then she paused and informed me that the boba is mixed with honey and asked if I was okay with that since she knew some vegans don't consume honey. Like wow -- I would have never known the boba was sweetened with honey. Talk about amazing customer service! So fellow vegans -- be sure to sub the creamer with soy milk and don't get the boba. AU79 has been one of my standard tea houses to visit. They are a great place to hang out and chill with friends or just to grab a drink. This AU79 in particular is one that I am quite familiar with. This one is open late which is good and the tea is quite consistent. Occasionally there are free samples of milk tea to try near the cashier. For the longest time, they've always had Oolong Milk tea as a sample. During the day, this place is a great study place since there is low foot traffic and there are outlets for you to plug in. However, once this place gets packed or busy, it can get extremely loud. This AU79 offers indoor seating and outdoor seating. I don't really like the outdoor seating since there's usually people who smoke out there and make it smell. Today I tried something different, a strawberry Bing Sa. This was basically strawberry shaved ice. It tasted great, there wasn't random chunks of ice, and to top it off, there were real strawberries topped on top. As great as AU79 sounds, the downfall is price. AU79 does cost more than your normal Starbucks. For my shaved ice, it was 6 dollars plus tax. read more

AU has always been my favorite tea place in Arcadia. However, your experience heavily depends on what you order. You can't go wrong with any of their items in the top 10 chart. My personal favorites are the green milk tea, oolong milk tea, and mango green tea. When you go, I really think that getting 50% sugar is a bad idea because their drinks already run on the light sugar side. So the times i've gotten 50%, it tastes like 0-25%. I usually lean on 75% or 100% sweetness depending on my mood (and always no ice). Cashiers can be a hit or miss depending on who's working - I think AU tends to hire high school / college students and some of them are really friendly and polite while others are just there to chill and hangout with their friends. Wait times can also be a hit or miss. I've tried a number of their drinks and some aren't great (barley milk tea, longan drinks). The fried foods always hit the spot (popcorn chicken is great). The cold noodles are really terrible, but the rice combos are okay. Prices are also just okay - milk teas are definitely getting more expensive these days! read more
