Needing our attic to be refinished we turned to Atticare since the place we bought was over 100 years old. Even after the extensive remodel it is and beautiful but they left the attic a mess. Simon met with us, explained the process and fees we decided it was time to clean this up and seal it. Came out the next day prepared to do the job but had to wait a since they were busy, no surprise since they do such a good job. The guys sealed off the hallway, vestibule and front entrance and went to work removing all of the old junk in our attic. No mess at all to the house! Attic was cleaned, sanitized, sealed and they also installed a solar attic fan in addition to the insulation which was a great investment. Not only is it much quieter and cleaner but the house doesn't fluctuate temperature and feels so much more sound in our little abode. Can I give this company ten stars? Atticare definitely deserve the highest possible rating possible. I'm so happy and relieved that they're able to fix the issues I had with my house. My front house has been vacant for exactly a year now. I had someone checked my furnace in my attic. I had the shock of my life when this person told me he saw rat droppings in my attic. I never had rodent issues so I didn't know who to call. I immediately went on Yelp to look for companies that do this kind of business. I made appointments with four different companies. Each company sent representatives to assess the problem and subsequently submitted proposals for the project. I decided to go with Atticare and was very satisfied with the price and exceptional service provided by Oz and his team led by Edgar.Atticare proceeded to replace my insulation, clean and sanitize the entire attic, and seal rodent entrances. AWFUL. I hired them to rodent-proof my house. They have no idea what they are doing; period. They scoped the project and then sent over an inadaquate handy-man to take care of the work that didn't know the scope of the project when they arrived. I had to go over all of the details with them and they still did poor work. I sent him home. They then hired a subcontractor team to do the work, and I had the same issues. They didn't know what they were doing and didn't know the scope when they arrived. Management emailed me to say that I need to pay them to 'cover their costs'. What a joke. Such an incredible experience start to finish. I requested more information Cody reached out was professional, courteous and punctual. He explained everything he saw in my attic, provided pictures and had straightforward packages and options. My installation window was flexible so I took the first available. Day of 4 gentlemen showed up masked off and created a clean working environment and got to work removing 60+ years worth of old junk insulation. Very disappointed in our experience with Atticare. There were numerous problems that could have easily been avoided or resolved. Some of the issues we dealt with: 1) Threw out a duct without approval, blamed it on a different contractor, and tried to charge us extra to replace it. Agreed to replace it for free only after the other contractor provided proof that Atticare lied about removing it. 2) Told us the job was finished, but skipped a major part of the install. No mention that the work wasn't done and they'd need to return until we pointed it out. 3) Quoted us for the wrong type and size of attic fan, then installed the fan improperly, in the wrong location, and unable vent correctly. 4) Damaged our roof by leaving exposed screws and lifted shingles. No response from Atticare staff when we informed them of the damage. 5) Missed numerous areas of insulation, leaving bare spots several feet wide in multiple places. 6) A one-day job took three separate visits and still wasn't complete. We gave up on having them do it correctly. Only reason this is two stars instead of one is that some of the staff earnestly tried to resolve some the issues. I didn't actually hire them to do work, but I did have them come out to evaluate my attic and see if they could offer better insulation. They we very good with communication and scheduling. Ricardo arrived on time and was very friendly and helpful. He did a thorough inspection of the current status of my attic and told me that half of the house looked like it had original insulation which could be improved upon greatly, half the house had newer insulation which could be improved upon marginally, and the master bedroom with vaulted ceiling didn't really have an attic, so new insulation there wouldn't be possible without ripping out drywall. I greatly appreciate the advice given including limitations. I ended up not contracting for services really because it's the master bedroom that needed it most. My bedroom had a leak coming from my roof due to all the rainstorms recently, and I was concerned that my attic was a mess. I placed a call to Atticare over the weekend after seeing their ads on social media. The folks at Atticare were very prompt in their reply and in sending a specialist to my house. Cody called ahead, showed up on time, and did a thorough job looking at my attic and explaining the company's various services. He didn't seem to think the attic had any issues to be immediately concerned about, so he wasn't pushy or aggressive in trying to get me to sign a contract and cough up a lot of money. Therefore, I feel the specialist is honest and ethical. We went with this company since they had so many good reviews however our experience has been the opposite so far. Pros: the team that came out was quick, professional and responsive. Cons: the quote came in about 40% more than initial bid, we were informed and were aware that it would be more since there was some space hard to measure but coming in adding 40% was hard to swallow adding way more money. Now after service we have had a hard time with communication and coordinating, they often don't call me back or text back when they say they will, I have to bug them and wait for the foreman to call them back which takes awhile. After about 2 months we were able to get someone out to re patch some spots since we heard something in the attic again and my wife was informed that the duct was not attached to the ac unit. The guy covered so nothing could get in but did not re attach. I know in the contract if ducting is damage they are not liable but this was an install issue and they should be responsible and fix it. Now I have been waiting weeks to get help or a call back from them. I would not recommend there service as they do not seem to take care of there costumers once job is completed and there is a lot of phone tag and saying they will call you back. Have you ever walked onto a used car lot? If you like dealing with used cars salesmen tactics, you're going to enjoy speaking to their representatives. I had several companies come to give me an estimate on roofing. After the Atticare representative inspected my roof, he proceeded to tell me why I needed a new roof. I looked at him, shook my head from side to side, and said, "I know I need a new roof. This is why I called you out." I felt Bill Engvall saying, "Here's your sign!" Then he wanted to show me all the different asphalt shingles for the roof at exorbitant pricing. I told him I really didn't care and I just needed a similar roof. I realize roofing is your livelihood, but it's not mine. Could I just get a roof through Costco; tell me the price and I'll pay it. Why do all of these companies want to know what everyone else quoted? Can you just give me your price or not? Finally, he said, "I can do it for $6,000." I called him the next day to schedule it and he said the offer wasn't valid anymore because the "extra" roofing at the "other" project wasn't available anymore. Then he asked me to send my other estimates to him. Is it my job to give him the price or is it his job to give me his estimate. Such a waste of time. Bait and switch. Cody was the most communicative and thorough when describing the issues that he found in our attic, the rationale behind the cost and prescribed services and why we should consider choosing Atticare. Cody was the only sales consultant who actually went into the attic and looked around, before issuing the estimate. His team arrived on time on the day of the service. They were professional, courteous and prepped the workspace diligently. I felt they went above and beyond to find a suitable electrical outlet for the gable fan and also throughly hosed off the driveway after the job was done. Friends and neighbors, please be careful when hiring Atticare. We've hired them twice over the past 3 years. Yet, they've left our home exposed. Our home is infested with rodents and Atticare's management is denying responsibility despite their own inspectors and two different pest control companies that they've hired on our behalf have confirmed rodent activities and openings to our home. Zach, as a business owner, do you plan to allow your management team to continue operating a dishonest business? People will catch on. 10/12/2020 Thanks to the support from social media and our community group, this matter has caught the attention of California Contractors State License Board. They've given us words of encouragement as well, promising that they will help us ensure that Atticare takes proper action on this matter. 9/30/2020 update: Amber replied denying responsibility. She mentioned that based on evaluations that were completed by two different pest companies, it has been determined that the cause of the surge of rodent activity is due to the fires in the area. There is no way that this is true. 1) We've reached out to Atticare about the rodent activities on Sunday, August 9th, 2020 at 8:01 PM. The fire began almost a month after. 2) The majority of the attached pictures were provided by the two different pest control companies. They've directly communicated with us during the inspections that Atticare did not properly perform rodent proofing. Amber, why would they provide us the attached pictures if these openings that they've discovered has nothing to do with the rodent infestation? 9/29/2020 Dear Zach and management, Please help us. We've been communicating with your office manager, Amber, and have not received proper assistance. It has now been 51 days (and counting) AFTER we've contacted your team about them leaving our home exposed after we've hired them for the second time (within 3 years) and confirmed rodent infestation. We have now completed four inspections arranged by Amber. Two from your business and another two from pest control companies that Amber hired on our behalf. Per all inspections and attached pictures, there are clear signs of rodent infestations and openings to our home. However, your team has continued to delay correcting the situation. Amber has repeatedly promised us to take action and has continued to postpone resolving this problem. There are four openings that were left to our home. One of which shows a dead rat that attempted to chew through the foam sealant and died. We have been unable to get quality sleep for over a week because our puppies' sleep is disrupted by rodent activities in our attic at night, causing them to bark and waking up our family. He repaired the gas leak. After his inspection, he went over the issues found and what needs to be done to fix/repair my issues. Vince was very easy to talk with, was extremely helpful. I even had a single small correction, that they came back two days later and fixed. I've been wanting to clean the attic and replace the insulation for about 2 years now. A year ago when I started looking for companies, Atticare and AtticMasters were the two I considered at the time. Fast forward a year later, and still with no recommendations from anyone I defaulted to Yelp again. I obtained 3 quotes, and Atticare came out in the #2 spot as far as price. The first company that was similar but beat them by a couple of a hundred dollars also starts with Attic, and rhymes with "Guys" - Get it? Last time I used a business name and Yelp kicked it back, so i do this not to complain about the business, since "guys" were professional as well. I mention them because they were used as a reference when going back to Atticare for a possible adjustment. Robert, who came out to give an estimate, and I later followed up on the phone was respectful, professional, and provided excellent follow up and communication to address my concerns. Even though I was not home for the in person estimate, I felt very comfortable making an informed decision by also speaking to him on the phone. He was flexible and didn't say no to my requests, and in the end we agreed on a fair price based on what they were doing. Reyes and his crew knocked it out of the park!! Great communication prior to arrival, and then on arrival he thoroughly explained the process and took the time to answer questions. He was professional, respectful, and also a very good communicator that provided exceptional service. Reyes and the crew taped everything up as promised, allowed us to access areas we needed, and got to work. These guys were machines! My attic needed some serious cleaning due to a recent roof job and may not have been the easiest. They also had to work into some areas to cover and seal the holes. Got a free in home evaluation and estimate with Atticare. The technician was punctual, knowledgeable, and helpful. He inspected my attic and crawl space. His assessment was that that there were no major problems, though certainly they can do a clean up for sanitation and aesthetic purposes. I appreciated the honest assessment. As I was mainly concerned about mold in the attic and water damage in the crawl space, I am opting to hold off on work in these spaces at this time. When I want to change the ventilation in my attic though down the line, I would use Atticare because they have earned my trust. read more

Buying an older home means dealing with the sh*t left behind, literally. So glad we found AttiCare to clean up the leftover rodent droppings in the attic, vacuum up the old insulation, disinfect the area, and rodent proof openings with mesh. The overall process was easy and painless. I contacted AttiCare and they sent a field technician to my house and Tom did a thorough job examining the attic and provided a reasonable quote. Note: I called and got quotes from a few other places, but while AttiCare wasn't the cheapest, they also weren't the most expensive. I was more concerned with quality of work and customer service and AttiCare met all my expectations and more. The day of the job, Edgardo and his men did a fabulous job. We were referred to Atticare by my good friend who had them do work on their house about 4 years ago. We needed new insulation and a total clean-out of our attic (it was gross!). They responded quickly to come over provide a free estimate, take photos, and walk us through the process. I felt that the assessment was thorough and very clear, we even received a 10% discount. After we made the decision to move forward scheduling the work was almost immediate. The crew was great! Jerry and Miguel explained all the steps they would be taking. They created a plastic barrier from the front door to the attic space to make sure that the rest of the house would not get too dirty. It was a hot day and SO much to clean up - insulation from 25 years ago and insulation when the house was built in the 1950s! Rat droppings and so much battered old material and wood were all removed in giant bags. They spent at least 6 hours cleaning, sanitizing, and rodent proofing alone in every place any kind of creature could possibly get into, and the rest of the time was laying down the new insulation. CONS: The problem is that the they measured my attic to be 400-500 sqft greater than the other companies I got quotes from. Along with the greater sqft, product/installation per sqft was greater too This resulted in the quote being around 2x higher than the other quotes I got. Their inspection was also terrible. They said that there was no insulation in the extension room.. there IS insulation. I had checked along with every other insulation related quote/inspection. This is the city of Diamond Bar. One of the most anal cities to deal with in regards to pemits. Do you really think they would allow a permitted construction project to go without insulation?.......... The quote and inspection was all wrong and the prices were way above any other company that I got a quote from. Literally got quotes 8 different companies and they were all from Yelp!... I tried to ask for a military discount and they were "kind" enough to give me half off on rodent proofing the attic lol.. oh fantastic.. $200 off on a $10k project when every other place was pretty much all below $5k with everything included. Congratulations on failing to rip me off. Bottom line: Keep away as if it's the plague unless you enjoy spending way more on your insulation project. Don't let them try to trick you into thinking that they use "high quality products" insulation mainly comes from a couple different providers. They use Corning which is fine, but the price difference justification is not. You can use Home Depot has a gauge on insulation prices even though they are heavily overpriced and it would still be significantly cheaper. read more

1 year and 6months after having AttiCare completely remove, sanitize, rat "proof", and re-insulate; I'm now having my third company (since AttiCare) doing it all over again. I had MORE rats than I did previous to having AttiCare come and charge me $4-5k to do everything in one day. I wish I would have done better research, and learned that once the contaminated insulation is gone, and it has been vacuumed and sanitized; YOU SHOULD WAIT AND MONITOR, to see if rats come back. Every time over the next year that AttiCare came back to 'fix small problems' of me hearing rats, ended up doing nothing. Even when I would ask the tech while he was at my house, "Hey, I see this, hear this, and noticed this..." They would tell me it's fine, and don't worry. Since AttiCare, I'm now on my 3rd rat extermination company, and I'm in for over $13,000. I'm here to say this: These people may be attic experts... but don't let them make a pest decision for you... it'll cost you WAY more money in the long run. I've been scammed, and its cost me all the money I've saved for 2 years. Thankfully the new company is legitimate and they care. They've been at my house for 2 weeks making sure every possible nook and cranny is checked. And they took pictures of all the glaring mistakes AttiCare made... such as leaving a 13"x4" hole in my attic around my chimney open. That was one of many. DO YOUR RESEARCH if you need to get rid of rats. AttiCare CAN NOT do that for you... they are going to replace the insulation, and that's the extent of it. Their 1 Year Rat guarantee is an absolute sham. This may not apply to everyone... as I'm sure some of you have homes that are newer constructions, that may have very limited access points for rats... but if you have an older home, live near nature, or need assurance that the service will stop rats: do NOT use AttiCare. read more

Where to begin. It all started with discovering a rodent issue in my attic. After surveying the extent of the issue I concluded I need at least new insulation. My HVAC was also getting on in years and wasn't keeping up with the summer heat. I initially contacted Atticare for only the attic cleaning, to my surprise the wonderful person who came to do the consultation said Atticare could do it all! And, I have to say, they can! Special shout out to Ben from Atticare who was with me every step of the way. Through Atticare, I discovered that my attic also had asbestos and Ben was very understanding and patient while I worked on getting that abated. When the time came to finally schedule cleaning and HVAC work the Atticare team was able to wrap things up in two days! I couldn't believe it. Even with my rooftop unit - the had to bring in a crane - it took a total of five minutes to remove my old piece-of-junk AC and install my shiny new all-electric heat pump. I'm currently writing this from my very comfortable 73 degree house during 100+ degree outside weather. We responsibly followed up with a different company that does rodent control to make sure we didn't have other parts of our house where they could get in. Everyone was happy.
