I want to thank Atticali for taking on our rodent-control job and doing excellent work to help us stop our rat infestation. Ours was a tricky project because our home is a townhouse that's one unit in a 6-unit building, and we're part of an HOA. Prior to calling Atticali, I had another company come out and do an inspection. They said the only way to solve the problem is to do exclusion work to seal all the places where rats are getting in across the entire building, including entry points on the common roof. But that company would not take the job because they were not insured to work on roofs and also because they didn't want to deal with an HOA. So, I called Atticali based on their good ratings. Irving was our inspector who came out and did a super thorough job of inspecting not only our unit but much of the entire building. I followed him throughout the inspection, which took about 3 hours. Some of my neighbors let Irving inspect their attics, where he showed me evidence of rats in each one of those attics. Irving identified many entry points on the common roof and verified that the only way to solve the problem is to seal all those entry points across the entire roof of the 6 units. I tried to rally my neighbors to have this job done together and properly because we all had rats in our attics and walls. But my neighbors were not interested. I also spoke to my HOA to see if they would cover the cost of the required work on the roof or at least approve this work to be done on our roof, since the HOA is responsible for the roof. (Note that these are one-story units with no access to the attics except for a small attic area above each garage, so the rodent exclusion work had to be done mostly on the roof and exterior.) Atticali was very accommodating and agreed to seal the areas they could in and above our one unit. They also agreed to work with our HOA regarding the required work on the roof. The two men who came did an excellent and thorough job, cleaning up all rat droppings and debris, and sealing all possible entry points. They did miss a bit of clean up, but once I pointed it out to them they cleaned the area very thoroughly. Even though we know it's not the ultimate solution (to have only our one unit addressed) and rats can theoretically get into our unit via our neighbor's unit, we have not seen any evidence of rats inside since then. I recently installed solar and wanted to reduce gas use as much as possible, this includes not turning on my furnace this winter and using electric heaters. But obviously those do not work as well (thinking of getting mini-splits in the future) so it was constantly cold and uncomfortable in my house these past few months. I saw some ads on Facebook about attic insulation (Attic Cali was not the ad I saw) so I went on yelp and got some appointments for a few companies to come take a look at my home. Brian came for the estimate and was very helpful. I even rescheduled due to rain and he was very understanding. Attic Cali was able to give me a really good price amongst the 3 options I had. I decided on blown-in cellulose after Brian's recommendation and some research I did on my own. Attic insulation was overall a couple thousand dollars more than I thought (not specific to Attic Cali but in general) but the pricing was still competitive. And with all these storms in the new year (Jan of 2023) I had a lot of concerns about doing the job in the rain. But Brian assured me that they would keep everything dry and clean. Oscar and another team member came the day of installation and both did a fantastic job. They removed my old insulation, air sealed and sanitized the attic, rodent proof the attic and crawl space (luckily I didn't have any rodent infestation), and then blew in the new insulation. Job started at 10am and they finished at 4:30pm. They covered the floors in plastic and covered the working area with plastic from floor to ceiling. And as promised they did keep everything very clean and dry despite some heavy on and off rain. Now my hallway thermostat reads 68 average whereas before it was reading 62. I felt the difference the next day, it was so much more comfortable. Those 6 degrees make a huge difference! The past few days I have not used my heaters as much, when I do it's now just in the mornings when I wake up and evenings before bed. I'm excited to feel the difference in the summer. I honestly didn't think new insulation would be as impactful during the winter since I'm not heating the house much, but it is. From my before and after photos, you can see that I barely had any insulation to start with. I was told it might have been the same insulation as when the house was built many decades ago. Now there's a couple feet worth of insulation. Extremely satisfied with Attic Cali. Thank you! Thank you to Oscar and crew, they worked so hard to rodent proof our attic and crawlspace, getting rid of contaminated items, installing clean vapor barrier plastic on the floor of our crawlspace, rebuilding the hatch to the trapdoor so no rats could get back in, and filling two holes in our foundation with concrete. Brian was our estimator and offered the best solution for the money which was R38 pink fiberglass in our case. He also answered questions we had about spray foam and air ducts. Called Atticali and 2 other companies to give estimates for rat infestation. We could hear rats in our attic and crawl space and walls for a longggg while and it started to progress rapidly. Our house started to smell so bad (quickly) and rat droppings everywhere in the attic, garage, and crawlspace. We needed to get these companies out quickly to do the work as we were leaving on a trip in about 10 days. Atticali and their crew to the rescue!! Atticali was able to immediately send Isacc out that same early evening I called them to assess. I was thrilled with their quick response, Isacc's knowledge, chill demeanor and even more thrilled when he sent the estimate later that night as promised. We got the other quotes and found Atticali to be a very fair price for all the work they were doing. We felt Atticali was the most prompt, communicative, complete in-house full service, was going to take care of all our needs, plus was able to fit in our service before we left on our trip. We signed the contract, paid the deposit and got on the books for the following week. When we called them for the rat infestation, they advised asbestos to our ducts and the damage the rats did to our duct work, so we replaced that also. First day they sent the asbestos crew to remove all duct work, they were prompt, efficient, safety protocols in place, nice and easy to work with. The following day they sent our two man crew of Oscar (lead) and Cordova. What a two man crew these guys were!!! Oscar was so knowledgeable, had so many good suggestions, made me feel at ease and taken care of, and wow what freaking hard workers!! Job: Attic insulation Background: My home was cold in the winters and hot in the summers, so I needed new insulation. I did some research and had an idea what the job entailed. I scheduled Attic Cali for a free estimate. Isaac came and looked at my attic. After given an estimate plus a $300 off from yelp, I hired Attic Cali. Work (Start - 9am, Finished - 430pm): - Guillermo and 2 workers arrived on time and started the work area prep and set up. They covered my floors, wall corners, and entrance hallways/living room. You can request any area to be covered and they'll do it. - Loose fill Insulation removal - removed my old insulation with a vacuum and hauled away. - Attic Treatment - Air sealing any gaps and Sanitation - Encapsulation of all asbestos registers in Attic space using their encapsulation spray. - Installation of new Owens Corning Batts insulation in Attic space R-Value: R- 38 - Rodent proofing the exterior vents around my house, if needed. Conclusion: I was pleased with their work. My home is warmer and cooler than before. In addition, the insulation helps with sound proofing. Isaac and Guillermo are responsive. They used good quality Owens Corning Batts (Faced and Unfaced) and cleaned up after completion. Attic Cali installed new insulation in my attic, cleaned up a LOT of pest mess and all within one day. As with most of my reviews, I'll separate into categories for easy reading. (NOTE: this attic mess was not my fault, lol; I had the house fumigated when I moved in, but they don't remove rodent mess). Quote - I requested a quote via Yelp's system and Jordan S. was assigned. He came out a few days later and did a very thorough examination of the attic, and the outside of the property. At first I didn't understand why, and then the quote came :-). Incredibly competitive pricing that included rodent proofing the roof, exterior and adding traps. Incredible. Jordan explained everything in detail and as it turns out, everything he stated is exactly what happened. Installation - The lead of the team of 3 was Guillermo B. He met with me first to discuss everything, made sure that I was given an opportunity to see the attic before, during (once cleaning was complete) and after, both by visually viewing and also pictures. So awesome. They covered everything in my home on the path to the attic (including my couch) and vacuumed afterwards. Not a spec of dust was left anywhere. His team worked efficiently and while I had no insulation to remove, there was lots of rodent poo to take care of. They did all of this between 9:30am and 2:15pm. This review is all about the lack of communication and respect for a clients time and nothing to do with services. I schedule an appointment and had a window of 3-5:00pm on a Wednesday. It was 4:45pm and I texted the number that sent me confirmation checking in to make sure everything was ok. Then I get a call at 5:00pm telling me that he was still in Gilroy and will be in traffic for at least an hour if not longer. No thought to call at any time before that letting me know they are in Gilroy and running behind? Needless to say I said nope we won't need your services if you can't even do the simplest call in advance to show courtesy. I was torn between a 4 and 5 but ultimately, it seems our mice problem has been taken care of. Attic Cali was able to come out for a quote and schedule work fairly quickly. Their quote was was better than the other places we contacted, plus they have a handy man that they work with who could build a new basement door for us that was most likely contributing to the mice access. All in one service?!? Heck yeah! The Great: - attic: replaced our (backwards installed from previous home owner) insulation, full clean and sanitize, placed traps. The house smelled great after they were done! Instantly felt cleaner. - basement: built a new door (did cost extra), inspected and placed traps - kitchen: installed mesh in problem areas (pantry, under sink) -outside: closed holes with mesh and silicone After they came, we found no new evidence of new mice. At the follow up appt to check the traps they placed, all the traps were still empty! The Not So Great: - we scheduled the follow up appt and no one showed up. We had to call a couple times before someone answered and they told us they couldn't get in touch with the technician. Had to reschedule for a different day/time - during the initial appt, we have some old pictures of husband and I on the fridge. (Don't wanna name names) One of the guys noticed and mentioned how we've gained weight, asked what happened, advised we should exercise, etc. Was pretty awkward. ‍ Overall though, we spent on this the same we would have with another company, except the other company didn't include insulation or the basement door and it seems the mice have moved on so really, I can't complain! read more

Job: Spray Foam insulation. I called them and I wanted the job to be done ASAP. I was planning on doing all the prework and the post work, so they would only do the spray foam. I had multiple emails with them. Finally, the estimate was given and I went with them because they would be able to fit me in the next day. I was happy with the quick response and their ability to do my job quickly. The team that came was really professional and I believe they did a great job. I am also happy to report they insulated a surface mounted box recently I installed. I am VERY grateful for that. My disappointment was that I have a 50 Amp 208 Volt exterior plug that was not able to be utilized for this job, instead one of the team members had to install a breaker into my electrical panel. Job: Blow-in insulation and Drywall repair They did the job, I got my insulation installed and drywall repaired/painted for a decent price. They were also very tidy, laying down paper and plastic. However, the road to completing the job was filled with scheduling issues and workers showing up after 5pm to start work, or not even showing up some days. I had to call for any update. A 2-day job ended up stretching to 6 days, and multiple calls to the office to get things sorted. My house was pretty much unusable for the week. After finishing the cleanup felt rushed. They did vacuum and mop, but there was still dust and paint drips scattered around the trim. In addition they accidentally took some of my tools and supplies in the rush out. That being said, management was very apologetic and offered a discount for the trouble. Maybe this was a one-off, but I can only review on my personal experience. read more

After poor service from multiple insulation companies who were rude, tried to upsell and didn't listen to us, we couldn't have found a better alternative. They have an excellent office staff: Andrea booked me a week out, but when an opening appeared the day I called, Isaac came within a couple hours for our quote. He was very professional, polite, explained everything, showed us photos of what the insulation process and materials would look like, and listened to what we wanted.
