Pizza is good. Staff, management and bartenders are exceptional! One of the best places to go on Tennyson St. where I live.

Overall: loved the patio atmosphere for brunch. Pretty much everything on the menu is on a biscuit or in a biscuit, and tends to be on the "heavy" side (drowned in gravy or syrup) definitely not for those who are looking for a light/fresh brunch. Service was good and prices were comparable to other brunch places in Denver. The location is great, Tennyson street has a laid back vibe that I really like. Liked: atmosphere, self serve coffee, location Didn't like: very "heavy" food, too much gravy and syrup for my taste. Felt like I needed a nap after eating my brunch. Third time here and the waitstaff service is still terrible. Not sure why everyone loves this place so much, there are way better pizza places in the Highlands that actually care about your experience. Try Ernie's or Tony P's (Zio's Alley Bar) instead! read more

First time was great-but this time way too meh. Out of every beer I ordered, after 3rd attempt and ten minutes of back and forth, I tried to switch to wine-not for $9 for layer cake that costs that for a bottle at the liquor store. Overall both times service not sure they know what they are doing. This time salad and pizza out exact same time and asked for salad first. We rushed to eat our hot pizza and didn't want to touch our $7 salad. Ordered a mixed drink and they can't mix it. Sour soda water taste. Just needs some staff training all around. read more

Wish I knew the name of the guy who tried to serve us on first Friday night at the window. Rang us up for the wrong thing and when we questioned why it was so expensive for 2 slices at 3.50 each plus .45 cents a topping and came out to be $17 the worker simply walked away. It wasn't until the other workers came that we received some service. I don't believe the employee was ever spoken too. At the end of the night we did get refunded so I give credit to the other employees who wanted to help. read more

Atomic Cowboy seems to be a hot location for some unknown reason. It is a pizza place with a limited menu for those willing to accept less. It's a "full service" restaurant that is limited to the choice of pizza and one sub-par salad. As for the pizza; you can order a gigantic 26" or be limited to re-heated slices. I will say the slices are huge, the size of a pie at some places. However I cannot say the slices are good. Adding toppings to slices is always a recipe for disaster. The slices they serve are thin as a piece of paper and after reheating you are left with a brittle, burnt crust, and cheese that now has the consistency of rubber. The place gets two starts for a good beer selection and a friendly wait staff. The food doesn't even deserve 1 star. read more

Love this place! Huge greasy slices of pizza until 1am, rotating beer selection, and the delicious biscuits and cinnamon buns for breakfast. Comfortable dining room with board games and a patio. Walk up window for takeout pizza. It doesn't get any better than that. read more

Grrrr.... I used to like the pizza here. I want to like this place so badly. But the last two times I have been I have found hairs in my salad. One time I can work around but twice in a rod makes me think there's something bad going on in the kitchen. Does someone back there just not like me? The Atomic Cowboy has great food (pizza and biscuits) but very poor service. . . . I live in the Berkley/Tennyson neighborhood and until recently frequented the AC. But I have had a series of very negative experiences that have ended me dining or drinking at the AC... I overheard female wait staff making very rude comments about an overweight woman in the booth behind me. - Wholly unprofessional. I ordered a pizza to go and wanted to wait at the empty bar for the pizza to finish baking and was asked to wait in the carry-out line outside. - Unwelcoming and a seriously bad business model. The restaurant was full and staff seated children seated children at the bar where patrons were drinking. - Wholly inappropriate. . . . Great food, very service and management. read more

Wandered in yesterday with my brother, looking to check out the new digs. Nice space and comfortable seating. Really great happy hour specials. But, I'm vegan and they literally have NOTHING to eat here. I inquired about the sweet potato fries and was told they stop serving them at 2:00 as it's a "breakfast item". Huh? Nothing on either the pizza or biscuit menu was vegan. I get it, as I said before, I understand I'm in the minority. But this isn't 1982. And Denver isn't a cow town..... our numbers are growing and I will stick with frequenting establishments that offer cruelty-free choices. read more

Some people might think it's quaint to get your own coffee, but I think customers running around trying not to spill is not so great. Also, I base a tip on how well you keep my coffee filled. So that automatically means less tip to me. Let's pay way too much for shit service. No thanks. read more

Had the absolute BEST time at brunch with our server Simon! He kept us laughing the whole time and recommended a secret menu item.... the Bachman! You'll have to go and ask him about it ;) but wait for it... the best part was their manager Dan!! He greeted us and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we were having a good time. Food wasn't bad . However waited about 20-25 minutes just to pay the tab. The guy at the bar walked by us and helped people right next to us on multiple occasions and was clearly able to see that we we're ready to pay because no one was eating all our food was sitting in front of us untouched the money and ticket was placed visibly in the cup in front of our bar seats. He purposely chose to ignore it. And I'm a bartender myself I know things get busy but as a bartender I also know that you always have an idea of what's going around your bar area at all times especially if someone has money out and is clearly looking like they're ready to pay and leave it's time management to make sure you grab it and check them out in a timely manner. He proceeded to do dishes in front of us stand directly next to the cup helping others and still did nothing. It took the girl bartender from the other side to happen to have to do something on our side of the bar (fill up a beer) and while she was doing so she noticed right away we were ready to pay and grabbed it instantly while doing another task like a bartender is supposed to. We've been going to the Broadway location for years and have never had a bad experience. We've been to this location twice and had the same bad experience. Waited far too long for our order to be taken, far too long for the food to arrive and far too long for drink refills. Both times the place wasn't very busy. The staff seem unbalanced. Both times someone other than the hostess sat us because she was away from her station and someone else noticed us just standing there. Both times there seemed to be only one waitress working with others working as food runners. Both times the waitress was working the bar as well. The last time something must have happened to our order. After 20 minutes, and watching three tables seated after us get their meals, the man who sat us brought us a cinnamon roll to nibble on and apologized for the wait. No one ever explained why it ultimately took 30 minutes to get our food. The free cinnamon roll was burnt black on one side, rock hard and the icing cold and congealed. It should never have made it to a table. ...free or not. Food was good but service needs addressed. read more

This was our first time trying AC. We ordered a pizza to go. The toppings were meager, the sauce tasted canned and the bottom of the pizza crust was extremely dried out and burnt. I was sadly disappointed because we'd heard so many good things about this place. read more

OMG!!!!! Food is INCREDIBLE!!!!! Pizza, sandwiches, salads, anything and everything was terrific!

Solid pizza, great beer selection and the pricing isn't outrageous. Good place to watch sports if you can find a seat.

Waited 55 minutes for our pizza...saw they were just preparing it and asked for our money back...got major attitude from the staff. The food here is bad. Such a shame this place got a prime spot in our neighborhood. read more

it's really loud and seems to want to be trendy but i think it's more fussy. the service is 'basic' at best.... slow. food is pretty good (I was told the pulled pork is great) - i'm not a huge fan of the atmosphere but will return in the summer to try out drinks on the patio. cheers read more
