These guys did an addition to our house. When we first contacted them we asked to enclose our garage only, that would give us the extra space we wanted. But Rodney came up with a plan that allowed us to keep the garage that we never even thought of. They remodeled an area that had a lot of wasted space and made it better, even adding on an extra bathroom and increasing the value of our home. I still look at this and cannot believe it is the same house. The people who works there are are all great, we loved having them around. My mom is handicapped and they would help her out when they didn't have to. Amazing crew and even more amazing work. Would definitely recommend Atlas. read more

When we decided to add an extension on our existing home we had to choose a contractor to help us from start to finish. Atlas was a clear choice for us as they were very professional and extremely detailed. Mika was extremely knowledgeable and always courteous when any changes were made. From the blueprints to the final coat of paint, everything came out beyond our expectations. I highly recommend Atlas Construction for any new build or renovation. read more

After going to the BIA shows and talking to other companies, we decided to attend the free Atlas Seminar to see what they had to offer. The seminar was great! We even won a $10 gas card for attending! Looking at their pictures and listening to their stories made us convinced to go with Atlas. They had the entire package - financing, drawing the plans, outside vendors. All we had to do was meet with them on a regular basis! We didn't want to tear down our home and Atlas agreed with us. (We originally was told by another company that due to the age of our home, we needed to tear down and rebuild). The first set of drawings and price range was too high, so Rodney and Bruce adjusted the plans and that brought the price down. They diligiently worked with us to remodel our old home and make it new! We also had to live in the house while the construction happened so it was quite an ordeal for us. The changes we did included a remodeled kitchen, new bedroom and bathroom, and renovated bathroom. We requested that the new bathroom be completed before they work on renovating the old bathroom. Also, we changed all the old windows to match the new ones. We were happy to get Bruce assigned to us as the project manager since we knew that our house would be in good hands. The Atlas Family is that, FAMILY. They treat you like a member of their family. Everyone from the office staff (Rayna) and the construction crew are so friendly and helpful throughout the entire constrcution project. Bruce keeps everyone in line since customer service is the number one goal. I have definitely told our friends and family that Atlas did our construction and would recommend them to any type of work that you need around your home. Keep up the good work, Bruce and Team!! read more

It was the beginning of the week, and Rodney was very late for our appointment estimate--we hung around for hours and almost gave up. He said he was dealing with another client and apologized. After telling us about his family's history in construction, he looked over our house and commented on how he loved old-style houses and made tentative suggestions. After admiring our house, he said he would get back to us by the weekend (about 5 days). It's been about two months now--no word, not even to my email address, which I had given him. Obviously, he has abandoned us, and I am in no mood to pay up to $200K to a company that doesn't care. I could call them, but would you bother hiring such a company? Apparently, companies like this cherry-pick their jobs. Update: Bruce contacted us after coming across my review. He apologized for our negative experience, and we arranged another look at our house. I received his estimate via email a while ago. Bruce also called earlier to see if we got it. We haven't made any decision yet, but we are satisfied that our efforts were not in vain. read more

It's been about 2 years now since we renovated our house and we are totally happy with the job Atlas performed and more importantly, their continued concern and cooperation long after the job was completed. A big Mahalo to Rance for his patience with us. Customer service and care was and continues to be top notch. And quality of work was never sacrificed. Keep up the good work Atlas Construction! We will definitely refer you to our friends and family. read more

I understand that your company takes pride in your work and have completed many, many jobs with no complaints. That wasn't the issue. The issue that i had, a few of my friends had and apparently some yelp reviewers have is your company's ability to follow up. It's like when you take your car into the dealership for repairs: if they tell you they'll call you back, they better call you back. The customer expects communication especially when you're talking about spending thousands of dollars of my hard earned money. And yes, i called back twice. That was after the meeting we had at your office. I'm not trying to grill anyone. I'm sure your company is great at what it does. I'm simply trying to say that if you put yourself in the customer's shoes, when you don't get a call back, you're basically saying "I'm not important enough for your company to do my extension ". That may not be the intent, but that's the thought process. The people who visit the homes, do the estimating and are responsible to follow up HAVE to do their job. I used to be a service writer at a dealership years ago. Writing up 25 customers a day, following up with every single one, from the free tire rotation to the $3000 repair, each customer is treated with the same importance and follow up. And in your speciality of home construction and renovating, people are COMING to you with thousands of dollars to potentially invest and have HIGH expectations that go along with it. Basically, your people need to be more organized in this area. Its not the customer's job to call you back. It's your job to keep them all informed. Imagine if you could fix that? read more

Atlas Construction is the best of the best! They really helped our family in creating a beautiful home. We contacted almost every contractor out there, and Atlas was by far the best. Very friendly people who are always around to help, and are still helping us to this day. Our home was built around 9 months ago, and they will still come down and make sure everything is up to par. The proof is in our beautiful home! Mahalo Atlas for all your help! read more

A dream come true. My parents were looking for someone who could build the house they could retire in, and someone recommended Atlas Construction company. I looked into it and saw they had a seminar coming up, so I brought my parents to check it out. My parents liked the presentation, and felt like Atlas would be a good choice. Josh and Bruce met up with my parents, and my dad discussed what they had wanted to do. Both sides were equally passionate at what the outcome could be and my parents felt like these guys would be a great choice. Josh came out to their house and he and my dad quickly went over plans. It's like Josh knew exactly what my father wanted, and was able to take the ideas and put it onto paper. He consulted with my parents on what could be done with the budget they had and how certain things could be done. Quality was never spared. My dad is a hard man to please, and the construction of how the house was going to be built was no exception. He and my mother would constantly make small changes here and there, and Josh was able to ease their minds every time. Construction was fast! My parents were building the new house behind the old house(which they would later knock down), so they were able to see the day by day progress of the house. I would drop by from time to time and it was impressive how quickly things were being done. They were spot on, on the timeline that they drew up for the house being finished, but spared no quality and workmanship all the while. It's amazing what Atlas was able to do with the budget my parents had. It really looks and feels like a million bucks. The house is beautiful. Incredible stain glassed front door. Fancy lighting and detailed fixtures. Grand counter tops and appliances. Gorgeous bathrooms. Towering ceilings. The Christmas tree this year is going to be huuuge! So much happiness and memories to be made in this new house. On behalf of my parents and the rest of my family, I would like to thank Josh, Bruce, and the rest of Atlas for giving my parents the house they deserve. Highly, highly recommended. read more

They were helpful in letting me understand the process with insurer, as well as quick to offer to finance deducibles and work if needed.

Atlas was nothing short of awesome for us. We interviewed a multitude of contractors in search of someone that would dream with us. We've lived in a condo prior to our reconstruction so being able to rebuild to something we wanted was a great feat. We were referred to Atlas by friends that were genuinely happy with the work they did. When we saw their house, it looked like a Kahala home in Manoa. Lo and behold we wondered if we could construct something that made us feel like we're surrounded in luxury on a substandard lot in the heart of Palolo. A dream come true....when we come home, we are eternally grateful for our haven. Now we want to relax in our spacious environment. Maybe too much...we're now raising couch potatoes. Beware you may just love your house too much!!!! We loved working with all of Atlas' workers, including Nathan, Rance and most of all Bruce. The company was most accommodating to our needs and they truly put us first. They adjusted to our changing minds and always had a "can do" attitude. We've never once felt it's not possible or that they were trying to nickel and dime us. The most amazing thing is they did it all within our means and we are living proof that you can have stress free construction. If anything, we have to say we received more than we gave. Bruce is a true believer of making you get the most for your money...and some. MUCH MAHALO ATLAS! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Now, who can say that about their contractors? read more

ATLAS CONSTRUCTION! Last year we renovated our kitchen. My wife hated our kitchen, therefore she didn't like to cook. We had met with different Construction company's and their rates were outrageous! Thankfully we had met Bruce from Atlas Construction and it was a blessing! He exceeded our expectations in every possible way. I thought it would have been a little difficult because we had 2 small children in our house while the renovation were taking place, but the Atlas construction workers were so great! They cleaned up after themselves, the guys were polite, and NEVER left anything out so I know our children were always safe. After the renovations, our kitchen looks like something out of a magazine! I couldn't believe it! And my wife COOKS MORE AND BAKES NOW!!! (Thanks Bruce) And the price was even better! I can't wait to have Atlas Construction renovate my bathroom in a couple of months. I HIGHLY recommend Atlas Construction for any type of renovations. If you want the job done right the first time, then those are the guys you should call, Atlas Construction. read more

If you want your dream home, Atlas is the construction company for you!!! They helped us to build a house that till today, we cannot believe we own. They guided us through the entire process. Were available morning, noon and night. Literally!!! Helped us to make sure we got what we needed and wanted in our home. Their staff were reliable, hard working and truly cared about our home and our family. Thank you Bruce, Nathan, Rodney, Brian and the whole crew who helped make our dreams a reality!!! read more

I can't wait until our bathroom remodel is done! I'm excited. Atlas is really available anytime of the day...they work some crazy hours. But I do love their office hours...helps for us people working from 8 - 5! We started meeting w/Atlas last year in November to discuss what our plans were for the bathroom, our plans have been completed. I didn't realize that it would take so long tho. I'll write another review after the completion of the bathroom (maybe in several months). Glad I'm not building a house tho.... read more

Mahalo nui to Bruce and the gang at Atlas Construction. We immediately felt very comfortable with the Company because we believed they had our best interest at heart from the outset. For example, the Project Manager (Nathan) was very concerned about keeping us within our budget so that our mortgage payments would be manageable and they made every effort to find a way for us to build a basement below our two story on our sloping lot going so far as to meeting with the building department in person to discuss our drawings (we got it). What really impressed us was during our site visits to other projects in progress or competed, the numerous clients we ran into all had nothing but complimentary things to say about the company. Their vendors and subs thought very highly of them too! They accommodated every request we had, allowed us to build the home we wanted (not according to their specifications), and were transparent about the process, costs (no mysterious change orders or nickel and diming), and timeline. They treated our Project as if it were their own and provided us recommendations during the design AND BUILD process. We also found the construction workers to be very courteous and respectful, making sure not to cause any disturbance with our neighbors as the project was being built. Atlas Construction was with us throughout, even beyond Project completion. It's been two years since they built our home, but because of the relationship we've built, I feel confident that Bruce and company are just a phone call away to assist. read more

Bruce Kim, the owner of Atlas Construction-what a fine gentleman! He has a tremendous sense of work ethics, an excellent demeanor, and imparts into his workers the same sense of responsibility that he practices. He was always there at various stages of the remodeling of my house in 2006 and he always addresses my concerns. He makes sure that everything is done properly and according to my specifications. He also gives me very sound advice as to how I would address these various concerns regarding structural, plumbing, and even minor repairs. An excellent, trustworthy individual of which is very rare to find nowadays. read more

Outstanding company...customer focused! Although my project was relatively small (new walkways and patio; repaired spalling foundation), Atlas Construction centered their energy on my project. Saul, a superb planner with great interpersonal skills, was my project manager. He met with me multiple times before I signed on the dotted line providing keen insight about concrete, suggested ways to improve my project (without added expense), and ensured my concerns were fully addressed. Foremost was Saul's pro-active demeanor. He introduced me to the Atlas team on the first day and was frequently at my house throughout the project (including day of concrete pour), and remained in contact daily via cell phone. In other words, Team Atlas just didn't take my money and run, they were on-site or on the phone with me to ensure my satisfaction and that the project was completed as desired. Even after the project's completion, Saul came to my rescue orchestrating Team Atlas in the resolution of issues/problems caused by other contractors. One word summarizes Saul attributes...OUTSTANDING! Ramon was the concrete foreman during my project. WOW! Meticulous, organized and tireless, Ramon is without doubt the hardest worker I know and I have extremely high standards. Ramon treated my project as his own identifying potential problems and offering solid solutions that included a drainage system. He made sure the walkways and patio were slightly sloped to allow water drainage away from my house (his typical exacting nature). On the day my concrete was poured, Ramon mandated that his team measure up to his high standards making sure all finish work was accomplished to his satisfaction. My concrete project was completed on-time and on-budget. I dare any company to produce a concrete foreman that exceeds Ramon's talents! Joel was Atlas' electrician. Although tasked to install a few electrical outlets, he was Saul's go-to guy to fix an electrical issue after another company gave up. When the other company said my underground electrical conduit was blocked and they could not pull the electrical wires through Joel said "CAN DO" and completed the work to code and within two hours. This was essential as I paid for the underground conduit in order to hide my air conditioners wiring and improve the aesthetics' of my house. Without question, Joel is the epitome of a master electrician. Francis, Atlas' carpenter, also came to the rescue to repair the other company's mistakes; specifically, a piece of house trim removed to facilitate installation of my air conditioning system. When the other company essentially said they would have to research and order the materials Francis stepped in and fabricated and installed the piece of trim. What would have taken weeks was completed in three hours...and you cannot even tell there was a repair to the area! As a master carpenter, Francis is a true craftsman. Anyone looking to accomplish home improvements need only to seek out the amazing folks at Atlas Construction. The next time I renovate Atlas Construction will be my contractor of choice for ALL work; not just concrete. I was thoroughly impressed; you will be too...satisfaction guaranteed!!! read more

Before you think about rebuilding or addiing an extension you should start with Atlas Construction.... Bruce and his gang are the best... I did my research and actually Sat down with other well known construction companies. They were really rude, did not listen to what u wanted, it was there way or no way. All I can say is try and sit down and talk to them. You'll be easily impressed... As far as there work.... There workmanship is outstanding and being a picky person like me I could assist and add some stuff I wanted in my house without any hassles... Thanks Bruce... Atlas is the number 1 contractor in the island.... Mahalo... We love our house... read more

Went to the BIA only knowing that I wanted to do renovations to my home. There I met Nathan and he was very informative about the type of work Atlas Construction could do. I will never regret using Atlas Construction. read more

One of the best construction companies out there. From start to finish, Atlas was there every step of the way. They took the time to help us choose a design we were happy with, through our selection process and even did some custom work for us in the house. Everyone from the office staff to the contractors were excellent. I couldn't say enough about them. Even to this day, the construction workers and the employees still treat my family like their family. I am forever grateful. Thank you Atlas Construction, read more

Working with Atlas for our home renovation proved to be easy and rewarding. They helped us out from the very start, taking the time to explain the process so that we felt comfortable and were always responsive to our questions. The end result was a home that we enjoy everyday and many of our family and friends have made only positive comments about it. Thank you to Nathan, Bruce and all of the other personnel who took good care of us and made it a point to ensure a home of quality and beauty. read more
