Today I came in for a exam at Atlantis Eyecare. The assistant Jana was very kind and explained the examination process that I was going to receive. Dr. Tran was very informative and thorough throughout the exam. She made me feel comfortable and was happy to answer all my questions. I'm super thankful that this office is open on Saturdays. I was in severe pain on Friday night with extreme sensitivity to light and I couldn't open my right eye at all. I called the office and spoke with Loren who told me to come in right away and she would fit me into the schedule. Dr Dwayne Logan is a dynamo! Two days ago he performed laser-assisted cataract surgery to remove the lens in my left eye and correct my astigmatism. Dr Logan was then in the OR to place a new lens in my eye. Both were quick procedures in my eyes- pun intended! Yesterday I could already see without my glasses. I was- and I am- amazed at Dr Logan's skill and expertise. I highly recommend Dr Logan and his excellent staff for your needs for anything sight-related. You too will be highly impressed. I've been going here for over 20 years, and I have no complaints about the doctors. Recently I decided to use their optical department to purchase new glasses. When my glasses were ready 2 weeks later, the Rx seemed wrong; looking through them was like looking through a funhouse mirror, a lot of distortion. Since the glasses had progressive lenses, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took them home in order to get used to them. There was no getting used to them, so I brought them back and the associate said I could exchange them for single lens vision if I liked, so we went with that. Everything's going well so far. I came back to pick up the adjusted glasses a week or so later, tried them on and noticed there was still some "warping" going on, so I said to the gentleman "Well, they're still weird but...", at which point he interrupted me, saying" Wear it". I said "Excuse me?" to which he replied "Wear it 'til you get used to it". I didn't know exactly what to say as I was deciding what my next step would be and he just said "Wear it" again as he proceeded to walk away. Obviously I was being dismissed. Wonderful. Atlantis, your customer service sucks. I don't think you realize how important to a business that is. It also took 10 minutes to get anyone to show up in the optical department. There was just one woman flippin' through her phone in a small office. I asked if there was someone that could help me, she just said oh yeah someone will be out soon. Another 5 minutes go by. I finally went to the medical section and asked the receptionists there if they could please find someone to wait on me in the optical department. We all have bad days. I still have glasses that are not 100% that I paid $300 for and I will not go back and deal with this dude again. read more

Had an appointment for 24 April 2020, which was cancelled by COVID19. This I totally understand. Ask to call later to reschedule. I have been trying to reschedule since 2 July. I'Ve left messages and was assured someone would contact me, no one as of today 21 July 2020 has returned my call. My eyeglasses was ordered May 14, and I have not received it yet after 7 weeks. They keep telling me to follow up in two weeks. But each time, they still do not have an update. I had an eye exam to replace contact lenses on 9/20/2018. At that time I paid $60 for lenses and was told I would receive the lenses in one week. On 9/27/2018 Atlantis Eye care called me and said I would be charged an additional $40 for the lenses and that they had not ordered the lenses as of yet. on 9/28/2018 I went to a different contact lenses provider who faxed over a release of medical records to Atlantis Eye Care for the contact Lenses prescription. On 9/28/2018 Atlantis Eye Care said they could not release my medical records (prescription) to me. Atlantis Eye Care has not released the prescription despite the written request request to date. Atlantis Eye Care finally called me back on 10/2/2018 after 6 phone calls on 10/1/2018. On 10/2/2018 they said they had 10-15 days to release the records - which according to California Health and Safety Code section 123100 says they have 5 working days. read more

Horrible service. My son broke his glasses so my wife took it in to get it replaced. They said they have to order it and will call us to let us know when it will arrive or if it's going to be back ordered. 2 weeks go by and no word from the office, so we decided to call them. The receptionist said the glasses were back ordered and they never call customers to let them know. They finally decides to give my son loaner frames which they just popped out the old lenses and put it into the loaner frames. (Why couldn't they have done this sooner?) We made an appointment for his annual checkup while we were there. When we showed up for his appointment they said they don't have us on the schedule. Horrible service and communication. This place is the best! I brought my sister who has a disability and the staff and Dr. Tran was completely patient and understanding. They made my sister feel comfortable and they were able to do her exam and fit her for glasses. They walked her through the whole process making her feel special and made sure she walked out with a smile on her face. This review is a year overdue. I had my eye exam done here last Feb. They paperwork you fill out is excessive and asks for your SSN (not necessary!). The exam seemed standard, but I had an off feeling about the advice and information the doctor game me. She kept telling me "your vision will never be great with contacts or glasses" and other very negative comments when I would express my concerns over my right eye being blurry and having trouble reading signs from a distance. But that wasn't the worse part of my experience. The technician who was assigned to help me order contacts was completely untrained in understanding insurance documents. I have a pretty good understanding of what my benefits mean, but he kept insisting I was wrong and added up all these charges that did not make sense. But he was clearly unsure himself and had to double check with others multiple times. Once he settled on the "correct" amount due, I paid and waited for my contacts to arrive. I get a call over a week later saying he undercharged me and they were refusing to place the order until I came back in and paid more. I asked for an explanation for the new amount due and could not get a clear answer. After being unhappy with that answer they said they would have to charge me more for my eye exam if I did not order contacts through them. I gave up and asked for a refund, which eventually was processed, minus the excess charge for not buying contacts through them. I ended up ordering contacts on my own from 1-800-contacts, which quoted a cheaper price than what this office was going to charge me AFTER my insurance and rebates! In all my years wearing contacts the optometrist office has never charged me more after insurance than an online service! Fast forward to this year, I go to a new place and find out the Rx Atlantis picked for me was too high and caused me perpetual headaches this past year. And my instinct about my insurance was right, that office tried to double charge me on multiple items (and succeeded in over charging me for some). BUYER BEWARE! read more

No matter how nice you are to the receptionists it feels like you're annoying to them. Very reminiscent of middle school aged children. They're not even kind enough to elderly patients. Every single year they make us jump through hoops with the insurance company. Every single phone call is a pain to even get the chance talk to someone, and then speaking with them is worse. Every single visit, the unacceptable wait time makes you feel like you're at a walk-in clinic, EVEN THOUGH you had to make an appointment half a year in advance... I am sure there is some monkey business with the money behind this place, why else would they have so many bookings and care so little about the patients? These people need some sort of employee training camp. Or maybe a whole new set would be nice. P.S. The doctors are great. Its just getting to them that is the worst part. Dr. Logan took the time to explain my condition, what my options are, the projected outcome and what I can expect in the future. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. My mom is a woman of multiple glasses for different distances. She is too vain for bifocals therfore she prefers one pair for each distance.
