Dr. Trieu has a magic touch with kids--she made the eye exam feel like a fun game with letters, which made it so easy for him to follow instructions. This business lacks organization. There is no sign posted anywhere to state when they go to lunch. Also, this place does not have at least a couple days extended to 7pm. It does no good just having things posted on website alone. It would help to state your accurate hours on the door. Also, don't bother leaving messages because your calls won't be returned. I have been coming here for years and have always encounter very friend staff. Always gave proper communication and never had any misunderstanding with any of them. Today I walked in and told them I was there for my daughter's glasses... The lady who greeted me said sure browse around and we will be right with you. (My daughter had already been seen earlier in the week which my husband took but didn't place the order, because he wanted to confirm I was okay with the payment.) I was literally there to pay after sitting down for 30+minutes another lady who was sitting down next the to lady I check in with said are you waiting for something. I said yes for them pointing at the staff who helps you choose your glasses, she then says oh you will not be seen. I replied kindly why what happen she replied well because you don't have an appointment. I explained why wasn't this told to me when I walked in, she said we told you to browse around. I said excuse me... Proceeded to respond yes you need an appointment. After 30+ min and they never cared to explain that to me when I walked in. I asked her what is your name and she stated her name with a grim in her face. The service isn't bad but it's VERY annoying that the extremely limited hours are not posted online. If an establishment is going to be closed for lunch, it's best to put that on the website. I wasted my lunch break driving to get my eye contact refill only to see that they were closed. Also, only being open between 9-5:30 sucks for everyone that works those hours. At least having one day that extends to 6 am or 7 pm would be a smarter business practice. read more

10/10 experience visiting Goldstone! Their team managed to schedule me and my son's appointments back to back, that accommodated my tight schedule- during the holiday season! There was no wait time and front desk was very friendly. My absolute favorite part of the visit was how comfortable Dr Monsantos made my son (6yrs) feel when conducting his eye exam- aside from the super smooth exam for both me and my son, she truly made my son feel comfortable and at ease. Karina was so patient and helpful when it came time to pick out our frames! She gave us her professional opinion on which frames best suited our face shapes, etc. Our glasses came in so quickly and we are beyond pleased. Within running my insurance, they were able to put me in within that 30 mins. The team members were very helpful in answering my questions thoroughly. Is this an Optometry office or an Alzheimer's Clinic? I showed up on time and the business was closed. After all those reminders, so so many guess who does not show at 2pm. Business was closed. Talked to business, asked if I wanted to re-schedule...uh no. Sign on door sez closed for lunch 1 pm to 2pm. I suggest your online scheduler not permit any 2pm appointments. Checked online for their store business hours and says they close at 5:30 p.m. I work in Torrance, CA and driving from Torrance to Long Beach can be a bit challenging. I leave work at 4:30p.m. to give me sufficient time to get there. I arrive at 5:08 pm. And a sign that reads - close at 5p.m. was posted on the door. I see people in there and I tell them I am here to pick up my contacts. I begged them and told theme they're paid for and they would just need to hand them to me. I noticed that the staff needs a little bit of training about good customer service, while I was waiting, I got constantly ignored. The other thing when I was there to pick my new glasses, a rep approached me as if she is having a bad day. I felt like she was angry or something. I asked her something and she replied back with frustration. Perhaps because she taught that I will be adding more work to her or complain something. It was just to remind her to check something easy. Not really friendly at all and at the very end, she didn't even say Thank You to me. I said that to her but no reply. Budget at least an hour (my appointment took 1.5 hours but I did get fitted for glasses), especially if you have an after lunch (2pm) appointment. Two reasons for coming here: they accept my insurance (although the receptionist had an issue with my VSP-provided card) and they're local to me. However, I was not happy with the actual optometrist as she seemed cold and not welcoming. I caught her facial expressions of being annoyed because my son had to use the bathroom. I think if she was a bit welcoming and actually showed she cared and not making her patients feel like they're just a number. She was asian and pregnant FYI if you ever come here for an eye exam. I couldn't make an early enough appointment for my usual optometrist so I had to scout and look for a place that could squeeze me in. I called on a Friday hoping to get a Saturday and they were able to fit me in. First Visit: super friendly staff, facility is clean and open! They have a nice selection of glasses (but I went in for contact lenses so can't vouch for pricing), paperwork took 2-3 minutes to fill out, wait time was 20-25 minutes (I'm ok with that, I know a lot of people complained on the wait time. I was also 5 minutes LATE) Dr. Hwang was more than amazing and attentive. I came in with a bunch of issues that I neglected in the past, and she had all the solutions for me. Leaving the visit: I walked out with a pair of trial contacts (that will last me a month anyways), a bottle of solution, and a sample of "Clear Care Plus" solution for my dry eyes. Also scheduled a follow up visit. Overall, I was skeptical coming in, but I definitely walked out with relief. Might be switching Optometrist after all! read more

I initially enjoyed my experience with the office. Dr. Alan Goldstone was nice, and the guy who assisted me with picking my glasses was nice and patient. I was told my glasses would be ready in a week but it took almost a month, but I didn't mind that. When they called to tell me my glasses were ready to be picked up, that is all I was told. I asked what time they closed and they said 5:30pm. I arrived a little before 5:00pm the same day. I signed in and waited outside. The girl handed me my glasses and said she could adjust them if needed. I asked if she had a mirror, since we were outside. She said no. I asked can I go inside to look in the mirror? She said no. I asked, how am I suppose to know how they look and if I want them adjusted? In an unpleasant way she told me "that is why we require appointment and we say curbside pick up." I told her all I was told was my glasses were ready to be picked up. I walked toward my car to look in the mirror and she said, "well do you want your case?" Communication and customer service is lacking. Also, I kept getting appointment reminders for another patient. I had to contact them three times to get this fixed. Makes you wonder about their HIPAA compliance. read more

My boyfriend, son and I have all gone to Total Vision. The first time we went, my boyfriend's and son's glasses were fine. Mine not so much. The doctor did not get my prescription correct. I tried to tell them they weren't right when I picked them up but they insisted that I try them for a while, that I have to "get used to them". Well I never did. I couldn't get back in for about 4 months because of work but didn't realize that they had a time frame of 3 months. I had to pay for a full exam and new glasses so all said it was very expensive. Now my BF went back in September 2024 for his yearly check up and they said his eyes had changed, So fine, new glasses are warranted. Like myself, he told them he could not see with them, he could see better with his old ones. Again, they tell him "wear them a while and get used to them. He has never been able to wear them. He had an appointment today but they told him he was too late and would have to pay again. He got the glasses in Oct of 24, it's now Jan 2025, that is 3 months and they said he was too late!!!! WTH??? After them messing up twice and charging us twice, we will not be going back. read more

I was to disappointed when I was there got my eyes exam got my glasses with quotes with my insurance the glasses supposed to cost $39 I have to come again. Due to my insurance won't kick in until 01/08/24 when I got here today the price change from $39 to $59 and cost more then what they quoted me I ask her what happened to the paper that they quoted and all the stuff I wanted and what the doctor told her I needed she said she don't know she only have what printed today. Customer service and receptionists are soooo bad. They don't care and just make the business look bad in general. Dr. Angie was so good in explaining everything to do with my eyes and glasses. The lady who helped me choose my glasses was also amazing. But every time my family or I have had appointments here the receptionists are always rude, have an attitude, or are very unorganized with insurance paperwork (overcharging and not explaining. Now we have to ask for every little thing if insurance covers everything, which my insurance usually does, to make sure the receptionist got it down the first time). They make us fill out new insurance paperwork every time we come in as if we were new clients. We've had the same insurance for as long as I can remember and have been coming here for so long also. They also return your call after over week. read more

I have been coming for years but last 4 visits were not pleasant. Service is poor and facility is also outdated. Plus they require masks. Doctor was annoyed after a long day, no patience with my family, stated I had to return but had no problem charging me co-pay and exam that I didnt authorize. Noticed it after the fact on my credit card bill. Didnt even finish appointment because she was irritated. Horrible! Both receptionist were rude as well in person and on the phone several times. I had a great experience with the friendly stuff and Dr. Precious Hwang. Yes that is her name and she is precious very polite and generous. Dr. Precious was very attentive ,funny, loving and I learn so much about my eyes and the way they work that I felt very good to know I don't have anything bad going on with my eyes except is hard to focus when reading small letters she even requested to buy glasses it at any local store since I don't need a prescription for .25 to 1.50 or if I wanted to see what they have in store. I felt no rush to buy or sell me what they offer it was more about what I choose what best fits my needs. I love this place and I recommended with close eyes.
