Dr. Gonzalez was excellent. It had been a few years since my last optometrist appointment but I greatly apprecaite Dr. Gonzalez's very warm reception and explained every part of the examination. She really took her time to understand my daily life and the impact to my vision. Thank you so much Dr. Gonzalez for a terffic experience. read more

This was my first time at Dr. Tomlin/Dr. Gonzales' office and the experience couldn't have been better. Dr. Gonzales was extremely kind and professional. She gave me a thorough eye exam and explained everything that I needed in detail. She went over my prescription and how certain lenses could be applied to my daily routine. She recommended lenses that will make wearing glasses more convenient. The office has a great selection of glasses and Richard was extremely helpful and helping me choose a new pair and answered any questions I had. he also explained how to get the boat out of my benefits. Richard also repaired my old pair of glasses without me asking. All the office staff was extremely kind and I walked out of there feeling more knowledgeable and taking care of then I had my previous Optometrist. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Gonzales and her staff. read more

5 stars! I recommend Dr. Justine Gonzales. She was beyond helpful and professional. Dr. Gonzales made my experience enjoyable and was very delicate / patient with my exam. The Asian front desk girl was super cool and helpful with my paperwork and helping me with it important information. They have a pretty solid selection of stylish and trendy frames. Definitely go here for your eye care! read more

First l have a good review of Dr. Justine Gonzalez. But when l sent a text and email for a second opinion with Dr. Tomlin, she never answered me. I learned that Dr. Tomlin sold the business to another Dr. maybe to Justine. Think twice to nake an appointment with Justine Gonzalez! read more

dr gonzalez and each staff member were extremely professional, friendly, kind, genuine, knowledgeable, effective, and thorough. best location i've come across in 20 years of eye care read more

The receptionist dude is RUDE!!! I left this optometry office behind 2021. I got glasses and prescription shades here. After both fitting uncomfortably and crooked on my face I came back in for frame work. Each time I came in, the receptionist was very argumentative for no reason, unenthusiastic and very cold. He gave me anxiety and dread about coming to the office for repairs. Truly hope he has been replaced by now because the actual optometrist was very sweet. read more

My problem was complex. Dr Tomlin was the first optician to prescribe glasses that solved my vision problem. Working in the dark presents unique vision problems. She understood my problem and the glasses she prescribed were a perfect solution. Caring and understanding, she was like a friend. Her office is my first choice, professional yet comfortable. read more

I worked with Dr. Crow in the 70's. Dr. Tomlin was the third owner. She was wonderful. When I scheduled an appointment with the new Dr. I was lied by the staff and dr. That Dr. Tomlin was still the owner. The women that work there are rude and unprofessional. Richard is the best yet I was told today by the Dr. The reason he only works Friday is because he is a problem can you believe a Dr. Speaking that way. I was told to take my business else where because her staff did not feel comfortable with me. So much more I can say but not worth the time. I will communicate with Dr. Tomlin and ask why is the staff and dr. Lying about her selling the practice. Please go to So Cal Dr's are fabulous and staff excellent. When a Dr. Lies it is not an honorable situation. I expressed to the new owner about her staff no one can make you feel in ferior without your consent Eleanor Roosevelt read more

This place seems professional but is not well ran. They need a receptionist. They hardly answer the phone. When I filled out my paperwork I was told they would call me back. After calling back to back, they finally answered and the man argued with me and said they have a waiting list. If I was told that initially I would not have wasted my time. Also, they said they do not have a lot of selection for kids glasses through medi-cal. Other places I have called that might not be aesthetically nice have said they do have q number of options so not sure why they do not. I guess not all that glitters is gold in this case. I'm sure they are good but just not match for us. read more

One of the worst experiences ive had at an optometrist. I came into the establishment to seek assistance with getting a pair of contacts. I had previously been seen earlier in the year for an eye exam so figured i could be helped. I have been experiencing extreme headaches and other side effects from working without my glasses. I explained to the receptionist that i can not wear my glasses at work because I work with special needs children. The optometrist is out on vacation until the 20th so as a result i was told i could not be helped. There was no one that could do a contact lense exam. Just unheard of that because an optometrist is out on vacation that your entire establishment cannot perform the services of an optometry office. Could you imagine going to a doctors office and them telling you they can't help you because a doctor is out on vacation? The reps at the store suggested i go to the place i got my contact lenses from 2 years ago and lie that i am "going through changing insurances" so that i could get a free sample pair. What kind of garbage is that? Just trash and upsetting. I expected better after my previous appointment there went very well. (of course the optometrist was working that day) read more

This review is 21 years overdue!!! Goodness me, I have been coming here since the first grade!!! Time flies huh? Dr. Tomlin and all her staff are amazing, as they always have been. The eyeglasses selection never disappoints, and I am in love with my newest pair of Ray Ban prescription reading glasses; I am digging the 1970's aesthetic frame. Thank you once again Dr. Tomlin! read more

I've been a patient at Dr. Tomlin's office for over fifteen years. I have never had any reason to change eye doctors. You will become relaxed in her presence -- she is gracious and patient. She is very competent at what she does -- as she's been practicing for many years. Her staff is very good, all so sweet, and so helpful. Standard prices on glasses and contacts. I plan to come here for many more years. Great option and great office location in Long Beach. read more

Very nice and helpful staff. I came because my daughter broke her frame and Adriana helped me right when I walked in. The warranty didn't cover the damage but she fixed it no charge out of courtesy. She was done within minutes and the glasses were good as new. read more

Long overdue review but better late than never! Dr. Tomlin and her staff are the best. I've always had bad doctors with terrible bedside manners but Dr. Tomlin is FAR from that! She's extremely knowledgable in her field and makes an effort to get to know you. Her staff go above and beyond to make sure you're well taken care of and that all questions/concerns are addressed. My exams are always enjoyable, pleasant, and efficient with her and her team! read more

I had nothing but a good time from start to finish. The Professor got me in a month earlier than my scheduled date and everyone was so welcoming and easy to talk to! The bad news is that every time I see an optometrist, my vision never gets any better, but it's great how they make it a fun experience, like picking out new frames with Adriana. Very unassuming storefront and if I hadn't noticed it while shopping at the Ralphs across the street, I'd never have guessed I'd find a better doctor than the one I mourned after he moved his practice. I stayed a lot longer than what was probably less than an hour because I spent so much time just laughing and talking. :) read more

My first appointment and it was perfect. Doctor was nice, professional and talkative. She makes you feel right at home. The staff was very friendly. Adrianna was very helpful giving me the prices and also picking out a new frame. I can't wAit to pick up my new glasses. Thank you read more

Great optometrist office. Was giving up on contact lens because of my dry eyes, but Dr. Tomlin put in so much effort and care into helping me find some that are wearable for a few hours. Enjoy going to this optometrist! read more

This is the best optometry experience I've ever had. Everyone at this office brings so much excellence and care to their work. I came in last year having headaches and light sensitivity to the point I was struggling with any light at night and Dr. Tomlin was able to identify a variety of ways to help - adding blue light blockers, calming eye exercises, and modifying my prescription for work at the computer. She really took the time to understand what was happening and the results allowed me to get my life back! Everyone in that office is excellent- Prof. Tomlin at the front desk, Richard, Kathy, and others whose names I may be missing. From working with insurance, informing you on different lens technology and options, ensuring your glasses fit well, every step they are committed to the best care and they bring it. I hadn't had a good optometrist experience before so I didn't know what I was missing but it really makes a difference! read more

Everyone is very nice. Dr Tomlin is great. Appointment was on time. In n out in hour. Small lot easy parking.

This office makes you feel like family. The staff is very knowledgable and super friendly. Dr. Tomlin is so thorough and explains everything and takes her time with each patient. I can't tell you how difficult it is to find an eye Dr. that has the perfect staff and is the perfect Dr. I have been coming to this office for two years now and am happy to say I am here to stay! read more

Dr. Tomlin is seriously the best eye doctor i've ever been to. I've been wearing glasses for over 15 years and have been to many places. She truly cared about me and was super friendly. She wasn't even bothered by my fiance interrupting the visit to get something from me. She was extremely helpful in fitting contacts for me and reassured me that I'd have the right contacts before my wedding in August. I was able to schedule another appointment immediately after my visit and am honestly excited to go back. She talked to me about lasik options and how to take care of my eyes, my body and my mind! 5 star rating all the way!! read more

Loved the office, loved the staff, loved doctor. They all were so kind and accommodating. I will for sure be telling all of my family and friends about your office. I've never needed glasses before, but I knew something wasn't quite right and I needed to be checked. The doctor offered some great advice to glasses newbie and really helped me to understand what had changed with my vision and what will help with prevent eye fatigue in the future. The optician was very sweet, funny and super helpful when it came time to picking out frames, she also made it easy to understand my bill and what was covered. Thanks again doc and staff, and I look forward to my next visit and to pick up my new glasses. read more

The worst part about moving from afar is finding new Doctors. An acquaintance recommended Dr. Tomlin, and I am so happy and satisfied! After wearing glasses I couldn't see out of correctly from a previous visit to the wrong Optometrist in SoCal, (during my entire first year in SoCal), and dealing with a painful eye disease, I was truly miserable. Then I made an appointment with Dr. Tomlin. She spent an hour with me, and performed a spot on refraction! I can finally see again, and crystal clear too; my eye pain has lessened due to a correct prescription. Dr. Tomlin and her staff is highly trained, friendly, and kind. I will be a repeat customer! read more

Dr. Tomlin and her staff are the greatest! I went to her for a second opinion on contact lenses. I was told that I couldn't wear soft lenses anymore and I shared my bitter opinion of the doctor that told me that to her. She was VERY professional even when I was going on and on. Very thorough exam and when she fit me with soft contact lenses she told me I could see 20/20 with both eye together. She explained why I could only see 20/25 with each eye separately and gave me the options and her thoughts on what I could/should do. When I went to pay out of pocket for my exam (since it was for a second opinion I had already used my wellvision benefit) she asked her billing person, Linda, to call VSP and see about getting an authorization for them to pay for the second opinion! Linda did call and my insurance will cover the second opinion eye exam too. I am so glad I was referred to her! I usually try to find doctors with after hours and weekend appointments so I don't have to miss work but she is worth it and she is close to my work. Who knows...I didn't even ask about the latest appointment or other options so maybe she does have other hours but it doesn't matter...again she is worth missing some work for definitely!!! And I can SEEEEE!!!!!!! read more

Went to see Dr. Tomlin for the first time today. I have a rare neurological disease which had taken my eyesight. I began a new Chemotherapy and my vision has been restored. Her office staff was sensitive to my very special needs and Dr. Tomlin was familiar with my diagnosis and took the extra time and care to verify my vision was restored to my previous prescription. She was extremely kind and professional and went above and beyond for me. I give her the highest recommendation possible. Thank you Dr. Tomlin and her staff. 5 star treatment. read more

I've been wearing glasses for a long time and this is the first pair of glasses I received that were worth paying for and wearing for nearly 3 years. I have since moved from the area but have been comparing my new glasses to the glasses Dr. Tomlin recommended. Although I don't wear the glasses anymore (multifocal progressive, etc.) I still hold on to them and won't throw them away. She went out of her way working with me to try contacts and to get the best glasses that wouldn't annoy me. Very polite woman and the staff is cordial as well. The office is a bit old fashioned but the service and choice selection was more important to me. Thank you for great service! read more

Walked in and honestly didn't expect much, but then don't judge a book by its cover. I was warmly welcomed by the girl at the front desk and was quickly seen by another nice lady who gave me good advice about frames that would fit my face and styles that would work. They have a lot of different frames that are for really good prices, which I love! In the end, with the help of the friendly staff and the advice on frames, I picked out amazing glasses. Kate Spade and other designers are sold here! If i ever need another pair of glasses, I know where to go =) read more
