I miss the old menu they used to have. Prices have also gone up disproportionately, even in the current inflationary environment.

I went here with friends for lunch while visiting Boston. The decor of this place is very posh. With the dark woods and frosted glass, you get the feeling you're in Thurston Howell, III's study. The ambiance, however, is rather laid-back and casual. This dual-personality is evident in the ritual of the hostess asking every guest if they'd like to check their coats -- whether it's a fine wool overcoat or a nylon windbreaker -- to which everyone I saw would turn down the request and hang their jackets on the back of their chairs like normal people do in restaurants. The service was very good and friendly. After the bread was served and consumed, the cheerful waiter came back with a crumb duster. That's something I haven't seen in a place that caters to the walk-in lunch crowd. I had an order of steamers to start. When asked what kind of clams they were, I was told that they're simply known as "Steamer" clams. In any case, they were good. I liked that the broth was not made with butter, as so often is done with steamers, which tends to overpower the flavor of the clams. There was a separate butter sauce for dipping if you choose to do so. Another nice touch was that the broth they were steamed in was served in a separate little bowl. The broth, after all, is the tastiest part! Great for dipping bread into. The only downside of these clams was the sand content in them. It wasn't a lot, but it did make them a little gritty when chewed. My main dish was the Tuna Bolognese made with whole-wheat penne. This was great! Very good pieces of tuna -- nicely seasoned -- in a light, tomatoey-creamy sauce. I'm not sure how they got the tuna to cook like this, but the texture was very much like ground beef (see photo). I only wish there was a bit more tuna. It really was good. Don't let the fanciness of the service fool you. The prices are reasonable for the overall package and this is a great place for a quick bite. read more

Pricy, but fish is super fresh. I'D COME HERE JUST FOR THE CLAM CHOWDER IN THE BREAD BOWL (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AGR_kBvN__I7aTl0rBywAg?select=eFdtoJXbOmomAgfDGMnNfw). Trust me, get the bread bowl. It's only two bones more but you get MORE chowder than in a cup and the bread is freshly baked and oh so tasty. Even the complimentary bread was good (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AGR_kBvN__I7aTl0rBywAg?select=oiepPU0ph4V4MAmLxSNLGg) BUT, for the other food: Captains Platter (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AGR_kBvN__I7aTl0rBywAg?select=Ehe_wB6mUloVd6eBi4o2CA) HEART ATTACK ON A PLATE. The batter was nicely seasoned.. not your typical "fried seafood plate" in boston.. had a little more tastiness to it! BUT its huge.. probably about 8000+ calories worth, so SPLIT with a lot of people! Grilled Swordfish )http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AGR_kBvN__I7aTl0rBywAg?select=uITExNX2xWcr4yRRpBCp7g): My dad got this. I'm not a fan of swordfish, but my dad said it was good.. Linguini with clams (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AGR_kBvN__I7aTl0rBywAg?select=DIEoNFxfGw2U94m47Pf9YA): Fresh, but nothing to rave about.. I feel like north end food would've been better.. Scallops with Pesto (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AGR_kBvN__I7aTl0rBywAg?select=tJI0h6_vNO619ZulkHh2bw): Like the linguini with clams, it was fresh and good, but if you want pasta, go to the north end. SO, my two cents: Atlantic Fish Co makes some pretty fresh and tasty food, but the reason why I'd come back is for their clam chowder in a bread bowl. On a cold winter day, and at $7, NOTHING can beat it. ALSO, make reservations if you wanna come in on a weekend.. it gets crowded as balls! read more

Highly recommed reservation. This is your tradiational CLASSIC seafood restaurant. Don't expect anything non-classic. However, they did a great job on all the entree we ordered. Seafood were fresh! Oyster - limited choices, but still fresh clam chowder - hearty and homemade clam casino - it was okay, but a bit too rich for us crabcake - fresh crab and very generous portion. I can never eat crabcake elsewhere. Chilean sea bass - my usual favorite fish, but this restaurant did a great job in cooking it. It wasn't overdone and was just right. Delicious! Key lime pie - GOOOD read more

This is a place I will for sure to visit here again when I'm in Boston the next time. The lobster Ravioli and the fried calamari are so tasty that I could say they are the top notch I have tried, and I have tried a lot the calamari, literally all over the world (from US to many places in Europe and Asia, down to New Zealand in a recent trip......). The services is as good as the food, friendly and courteous. Highly recommend. Thx. read more

Excellent service. Lovely environment. Excellent food. Fresh oysters and fish, and delicious sides. Outstanding.

This was my first time eating at Atlantic Fish Co. and I will definitely be coming back. We were treated with exceptional service from our server, Jason, for the entirety of our visit. The food was incredible. We started out with the lobster bisque and holy moly it was magnificent! I got the shrimp and scallop risotto as my entree. The blend of flavors was unexpected yet incredible. My boyfriend got the fresh catch with asparagus and mashed potatoes - again, a great dish. We also ordered a half bottle of wine and the wine service was great. My only complaint is that I am gluten free and the gluten free options were not clearly laid out on the menu. Jason did a great job of helping me navigate the menu and assured me that he could make many of the dishes gluten free with no problem. We didn't get a chance to try the dessert because we were so full from dinner. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood! You won't be disappointed! read more

Server started out great, soup, salad and bread was yummy. Had 4 in our group and we seemed to wait quite a bit for our meals. They came out luke warm and fish was undercooked. Sent it back and manager brought it out less than 5 min later but there was no real genuine apology. I had cut the original piece and I believe it was the same piece of fish that I sent back, just cooked again in hot oil. I hope not. Coleslaw was not great and key lime pie did not taste like lime, just sweet. Plus the carts with dirty dishes on it in the entry and throughout restaurant was not very pleasant. I would also recommend that the manager check in again with the table when there was a problem. Many team members walking around and could have taken plates away. I'm afraid I will not recommend since we spent over $300 and the experience was just ok. read more

We've been to Boston many times, we live just outside the City, but have never stopped in to eat here. We were not disappointed. We arrived around 5pm with no reservations and timed it just right, a nice table for two outside with no wait. It was a busy Saturday but our server John arrived shortly after we were seated. The menu is either paperless or traditional paper. We started with the fried calamari which was done just right, not too chewy and not too overcooked. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio, Tavistock Reserve, which was very nice. We had swordfish for dinner, one blackened and one baked with garlic breadcrumbs. Both cooked just right. We ended the night with peppermint pie and cappuccino. Great experience, friendly servers, great food, nice vibe and location. read more

Just what we wanted - a steamed platter of shellfish. It was delicious, fresh, and more than enough for two. The clam chowder was also great though super rich. I'd come back just for that on a cold day. I also tried the house martini - don't remember the name but it had a piece of crab claw meat, and two olives stuffed with blue cheese and bacon. Crab goes really well in a martini! Who knew! read more

This is THE PLACE to go, while in Boston! Our hotel suggested, when we asked for a recommendation for great seafood restaurant. The Tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful, the steamed clams were perfection! My Husband and I both had the 2 lb lobster meal, I decided to substitute the sides with garlic spinach and corn pudding....oh my, what a treat. We were entertained by our amazing waiter Daniel, who was fun and made our visit even that much more enjoyable. The entire staff was friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. When in Boston.. we will be back! Love this place!! Thank you Atlantic Fish Co. and staff for a great experience. read more

I should have left a review for this place sooner. I was there back in late March. My boyfriend and I visited Boston for our anniversary. Around dinner time we were hungry and I looked up Yelp for some good restaurants and came across Atlantic Fish Company. You don't have to make reservations, but highly recommend it and make sure you don't mind spending a little extra. I had a two pound Maine lobster. I have to say this is the best lobster I have ever had in my entire life. It was soft and juicy and just melts in your mouth. The meat was so delicious and not tough at all. All worth the money. Which cost me $50 for that dish alone. I forgot how much my boyfriend's steak cost but also very delicious. Also seems like they get a lot of customers from out of town. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us just enough attention we need to not get annoyed yet still satisfied she checked up on us. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area. read more

One of the best seafood meals I've ever had. I got the sea bass and lobster ravioli over sauteed spinach. The sea bass flaked off so easily on my fork and it was pan-seared perfectly. The lobster ravioli and its sauce were also very good. Also, the clam chowder here is amazing! Definitely get a cup or bread bowl. We had a group of 20 eat here and everybody enjoyed their meal very much. Nobody had a bad dish. Even the most simple/common dish of fish & chips were amazing! read more

Loved everything here. There were four of us, so we all got different entrees and split them up family style so we could taste everything. Here's what we got: -Oysters -2lb baked/stuff lobster special -Pan-Seared Sea Bass -Seared Sesame Tuna -Pan-Seared Sea Scallop -Flourless Cake Everything was delicious! I highly recommend the sea bass and the lobster special. The sea bass is cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The spinach goes really well with the fish. The lobster special serves two people (very rich), lots of fresh lobster meat in a savory sauce. The scallop dish is good too if you're looking for a pasta dish. I'd skip the seared tuna. Great dining experience, probably one of the best seafood restaurants in Boston. read more

Jenna, our server, was super nice! My friend and I shared the crab and artichoke dip $12 and a cup of the sea bass stew $7. Stew was really good! The dip came in a bread bowl, which is much too filling for 2 people as an appetizer. Despite that though, the dip was good, big bread bowl probably unnecessary because it came with pita chips on the side. Weird thing is it also came with carrot and celery sticks which seemed out of place.... My friend ordered the salmon salad $16, unfortunately her salmon was overcooked =(. So my advice is to not get the salmon.... I ordered the fish sandwhich, but Jenna accidentally keyed the order in for the fish and chips. When it came to my table though, she came over to apologize. I didn't mind and just kept the order. Jenna was nice enough to change the price to the fish sandwhich price. The fish and chips aren't your typical large fillet pieces with a light colored batter. These were slightly smaller fillet pieces, but they give you a lot and they're very juicy and tender. I believe they were made of haddock, but could be mistaken. Fries got soggy as they got cold, but they're the thin almost shoestring fries. I'd definitely return for fish and chips, good lunch deal at $13 for the amount of fish you get. Overall I think their seafood is fresh and pretty tasty, as long as it doesn't get overcooked. I would've loved to just order a giant lobster for lunch like the table of business men next to us.... but I'm not that baller .....yet... LOL. read more

Legit! Loved this place. My friends took me here for my birthday and I loved it here. Started off with some bread, and you know it's a good restaurant when the bread that comes in the basket is hot, fresh and tasty. I actually wanted to ask for another basket but was kind of embarrassed I scarfed everything down so fast. My main entree was the Sea Bass and Lobster Ravioli. Both of which were great. Sea Bass was cooked perfectly, extremely soft, flavored just right. The Lobster Ravioli was the highlight of the dish, it was a bit on the rich side but still amazing! the only downside was the plate only had like... 5 or 6 pieces of ravioli and I was really hoping for more. But hey, quality over quantity haha As for what my friends ordered, one had the San Francisco Cioppino which was just jam packed with seafood. It was never-ending going through that pot. We didn't finish this but it was pretty good. Another friend ordered one of their specials that day which was pan seared mini scallops. This was something they mentioned they only have a couple months in the year (I believe it was October to December) and it's definitely worth ordering if it's around! As for dessert, they actually brought over a really decadent and rich chocolate mouse cake for my birthday (and I even got my song and a nice candle). Also good. All in all, I had a good experience here and I would dine here again. read more

I came here on a Wednesday night with one of my friends for an early birthday dinner. Parking wasn't an issue but traffic was bad since they were setting up for the boston marathon this upcoming Monday. We found metered parking nearby. It was around 650pm so we only paid for about an hour since meters stop at 8pm anyway. It was only a short three minute walk to the restaurant that I didn't mind since it was finally nice out. I made reservations for 7:15pm so we were sat down a few minutes after we came in. This is my second time at this restaurant but first time here for dinner. There are tables outside but it was too windy at that time to eat outside. It must be annoying for the servers to keep going in and out with plates through the double doors. We sat at a table in the middle of the dining area. The tables were kind of too close next to each other but it didn't bother me. Although it was kind of awkward when I tried to reach for something in my jacket pocket behind me without looking and accidentally touched some man's thigh. Oops sorry to him and his three female friends/girlfriend(s)? Everyone looked like they were coming from work so it appeared to be business or business casual dress code. First thing I looked at was the drink menu of course. One drink immediately caught my eye - Atlantic fish house martini (Ketel One, vermouth, blue cheese stuffed olive, feta and bacon stuffed olive, and a crab slice). I forgot to order it dirty but it still came out good. We ordered two half dozen raw oysters - one katana and the other blue point oysters. I honestly can't tell the difference between types of oysters. We also ordered bacon wrapped scallops and he ordered the seafood chowder. Raw oysters were delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops were soooo good. It came with four for the appetizers which is more than I thought it would come with so that was a nice surprise. The bread and butter were really good although the crunchy bread was too sweet for my taste. I ordered another Atlantic fish house martini - dirty this time which made it ten times better. My lobster fra diavalo came out. It looked great but the sauce wasn't as thick as I wanted it to be. I've never had lobster fra diavalo before but for a dish with linguine, I expected the sauce to be thicker. It was pretty much watery. There was a generous amount of lobster though so I guess that kind of made up for it. We also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts. It wasn't anything too special. My friend had snuck a message to our server that it was my birthday. So she came out with a peppermint ice cream cake with a candle. I usually don't eat sweets but this was delicious. And it was on the house. There were chunks of the peppermint candy in vanilla ice cream. Altogether I give it 4 stars. Service was 5 stars since we didn't have to wait too long to be seated and she gave us free dessert for my birthday. Food was 3.5 stars because the lobster fra diavalo wasn't how I expected it to be. Also Brussel sprouts weren't anything too amazing either. Appetizers were delicious though and the drinks menu was creative. Atmosphere was 4 stars due how close the tables were to each other. I'd definitely come back on a nicer day and sit outside for drinks and the appetizers. I'll probably try the surf and turf here next time. read more

#2 restaurant in Boston for me. I like to come here on weekends when their bread baskets have blueberry muffins in it. Their bread baskets are out of this world - warm and soft bread! I've tried most of their menu and I will say that their lobster ravioli is one of the best in Boston. The brown sugar just tops it all off so nicely and they don't skimp on seafood. Everything is fresh tasting. It is a bit fancier and... touristy, but the food is really delicious! The service is also great and food comes out quickly. read more

A little more expensive than average, but well worth it. I ate at bar and got a dark and stormy drink. Nice punchy ginger ale inside that set the tone for a great meal. Surprisingly the creamy macaroni is stealing the shown with its crunchy topping. The lobster roll is the slightly better than typical lobster roll with its nice dressing slaw. Rounded out by brusselnsprouts that were buttery and delicious. You know it's a bit pricier meal when you have the slice of lemon with the web shroud around it to prevent seeds in your food. Cheers! read more

We came on a Friday night at around 10:30 PM and we still had to wait a bit for a table to open up and I would say the wait was worth it. Food Bread: I must say warm bread really wets my appetite and not only was the bread they provided us fresh from the oven, but also had subtle hints of sweetness to it. The butter also was great. I usually don't comment much on the free bread restaurants give but I had to give this one a shout out. Steamed Mussels with sofrito, capers, and warm garlic crouton: I've had fresh mussels before but I may say these were probably some of the biggest and juiciest mussels I have had. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce as I am not too much of a capers guy but it was still good to dip the warm bread in. Fish and chips: One large piece of cod that was very flaky and fresh. They are called Atlantic Fish for a reason. The fries were regular fries but pretty crispy which is always a plus. Shrimp Scampi linguine with chopped tomato, fresh herbs and parmesan: I would say the portion size wasn't the biggest I have ever had, but the shrimp was plump and fresh and the white wine they used added a lot of flavor to the dish. I would definitely recommend ordering an appetizer if you go with the Scampi. Overall - This is a great place for a date or a semi upscale dinner with a group. The food is fresh and the wait staff took care of us. For the price, it wouldn't be a place I would go to everyday, but great for any occasion. read more

I expected a lot more from Atlantic Fish Co. based on all the reviews, but I was not impressed. I came with a party of seventeen friends and had to chose from a prie fixed menu. For starters, the seafood tower did not taste fresh. It came with a very strong vinegar condiment that you was not pleasant to the nose as well. I picked the clam chowder for my appetizer and enjoyed it. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. As for my entree I had the filet and scallops. The filet was bland and needed some salt and pepper badly. Most of my party's food came out warm almost cold, some over cooked, some fifteen minutes later. ( The manager did come over and apologize which was nice ) Prie fixed menu and about two drinks each cost around $160 a person. For the amount of money we spent a person, I wish I walked out saying,"Wow, that was a good meal" but unfortunately I didn't. Kudos to the bartenders for the yummy red sangria, and our waitress Lisa that worked hard to make sure we were happy. Very odd that management would assign one server for a party our size, but Lisa did a great job. I know how stressful serving a large party alone could be. I just wish the quality of food was better. read more

I was in Boston with a co-worker for a few days and we wanted to end a very long east coast business trip with a decent meal. I wanted a lobster. I asked some of my local contacts for recommendations. I was told Anthony's at pier 4 and No Name are two great places and better than Atlantic. After reading negative reviews about the two other places, I decided to go against the local advice and eat at Atlantic Fish Company. The Atlantic Fish Company is an elegant white tablecloth restaurant. They served food until 11pm on a Monday night which was nice because we were on west coast time still and not hungry until later. We arrived and were promptly seated. We were promptly served fresh rolls and ordered a crab cake and ceasar salad. The best crab cake in my book was always at Legal Seafood. Well, Atlantic Fish Company now holds my title of Best Crabcake. The ceasar salad was great as well and I was offered the option of having anchovies topping it. The waiter had an above average knowledge of the wine offerings. We went with his recommendation and were not sorry. Their wine service is good, not a great selection but a nice offering all the same. I had the lobster. I was offered the option of having them remove it from the shell, which I took them up on. Their presentation of the lobster was awesome, all the meat was in a dish next to the upper torso of the lobster, which was situated so he could watch me eat him. The meat was hot and tasty. The waiter asked me to try the temperature while he waited to ensure it was to my liking. The lobster was served with potatoes and corn which were great as well. We were offered dessert. The waiter insisted their chocolate cake was "exceptional" and made with a high end chocolate. I have heard this line before and been disappointed all but once in my life. I took him up on it. He was right, it was exceptional and one of the best cakes I have had. Now, let's talk service. I had been disappointed by the service we received in every restaurant in Boston. One of my local contacts told me that generally service is very poor in Boston. Atlantic Fish Company was the only exception. Our waiter was right on with everything 100% of the time. He should write a book on good service. He was knowledgeable about the food and the wine. Everything was timed perfectly. Maybe it was the fact the he was from South America originally and lived in another state until 2 years ago. I complimented him on the good service and told him maybe he had not been in Boston long enough to become jaded. All in all, a top notch meal. I spent hours reading restaurant reviews before coming here and I am glad I did. read more
