I really really like Eventide. We were at their Portland ME location a few years ago and the Fenway location continues the same quality. Although some might criticize the small size of the lobster rolls they are really crest and good. The clam chowder is not as thick as a lot of chowders but i like a thinner chowder. The oysters are fresh and tasty. The onion ice was a nice addition as well as their mignonette.

A solid fast casual restaurant. The fish sandwich was good and the soft serve always hits the spot. Service is friendly and efficient. A little on the expensive side for this type of cuisine but not outrageous.

Super casual restaurant, it's not very big so I assume it will get busy during peak hours. I went for an early dinner around 5 so there were only a few people in there. I sat by the counter and got a pumpkin beer, it was rimmed with cinnamon, so good! I started with some oysters, they had a lot to pick from so I asked for the waitress recommendation, happy hour you basically get double the oysters! Comes with two toppings. For entree I go the lobster roll (it's not big but the flavors are amazing, bread is nice and soft. Loved it!). And the clam chowder, it's a different type, it's thin, but the flavors are also delicious! Overall I enjoyed my meal and if I was in town again I would come back!

While exploring Boston, we decided to stop at Eventide - Fenway for lunch. It is located in downtown Boston next to Fenway Park! This area reminds me a lot of San Francisco minus the homeless people and weird smells. We were greeted and seated right away and I liked how open the inside was with lots of natural lighting. We decided to split the Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll, Calamari and an order of Fries. We also ordered some drinks including the Oyster Shooters - Bloody Mary with Tequila. We really enjoyed our drinks and the Calamari and Fries (some of the best we had during this trip) - the Lobster Roll was actually better without the bread which I thought was weird, but it took away from the taste of the actual lobster. Overall, staff were friendly and attentive. The food was not the best we had in Boston, but it worked for a quick bite while we were sightseeing. Not sure I would be back, but check them out for yourself!

Spectacular food, though not spectacular prices. We were lucky to stay nearby and our group couldn't decide on what to eat for lunch so I took full advantage of the opportunity to pitch Eventide's lobster rolls. And it damn worked. We all loved the food here. The raw oysters were so fresh and succulent that we decided to do another round. Our server, Chase, was very knowledgeable about the notes of most of the oysters and didn't pretend to know anything he wasn't sure of and called his manager for clarity, which was very much appreciated. I had the Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll, which, admittedly, I was surprised by its small size, but it ended up being just right. The lobster chunks were scrumptious and fresh, but $22 price tag was definitely very steep for a small roll that didn't come with a side. The value equation is the only reason I took a star away. I had the Roasted Banana Serve too, which was delicious ice cream and reminded me a lot of nice cream. The food is definitely nice but I wouldn't come here on an empty stomach and expect to leave full--unless I really wanted to.

REALLY good oysters, wow it was super fresh. The place itself is like half bar half restaurant, so it's chill for a casual date or a hangout. The waiters themselves is amazing, they were so patients when I took my time to order, and they even helped me orders when I was confused. Overall, I recommend trying all 10 of the oysters kind alongside the cocktail sauces, super fresh and super juicy

Came in here to try the brown butter lobster roll and the clam chowder before leaving town for the day. I would def come back for the lobster roll. The clam chowder was different from what I'm used to but still good. I don't care for the cracker they give with the clam chowder. Kind of stale. Overall experience was good. The service was quick and attentive.

Had an awesome experience at Eventide in Fenway! The oyster bar offers a great selection of fresh, tasty oysters, and the drinks are fantastic. We tried the chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, lobster roll, and chowder--all flavorful and well-made. With direct views of Fenway Park, it's the perfect place to eat before a Red Sox game. Lively atmosphere, great food, and great location--highly recommend!

Went here to try their brown butter lobster roll and it was very good! The only negative is the portion is very small but definitely worth getting! I tried their Tangerine Sour mocktail and it was amazing. I would only get cocktails if they always tasted just as good as that one.

Good to stop in and grab quick bites last minute. Emphasis on the bites. They are small but flavorful. Wouldn't recommend for a full sit down meal. Fries and chicken bun were good. Would have loved a little more chicken. Service was simple and quick. Clean interior and very close to Fenway. Quiet inside.

Thought the lobster roll was alright. The lobster itself was great and flavored nicely. The roll was soft and didn't really do anything for the dish - I wish it was toasted or something. The clam chowder was a bit runny and had a weird after taste I can't really put my finger on. The inside is cute though and has plenty of seating. The food comes out relatively quick and the workers are nice.

Had a late lunch on a Thursday and the staff was cleaning but very attentive to everyone that walked in. The lobster roll was delicious but on the smaller side so avoid if super hungry.

Does this location have the gluten free lobster roll too?

Yes. Check out their website. Talks about GF roll on the menu.

If I went with a group of 8-10 people would we be able to find seating/a table all together (if we arrived right when they opened)?

Great question! It is open seating, and there are a couple large tables for 8-10 folks to reserve seating. I went in the early afternoon and there was plenty of space!

Unless you wanna wait an hour or so, it's best to arrive 30min before they open to beat the rush. It's incredibly cramped and rushed inside, and you may need to share a table with others if you're a smaller party. Food is quite pricey but well worth it. We ordered the oysters (they've got a variety so you can choose), clam chowder, lobster roll, cioppino, and johnnycake. Oysters were fine, but the clam chowder was absolutely dismal. Not sure what happened, especially since it's so highly rated, but it was extremely watery and almost completely unseasoned. It could've definitely used salt at the very least. If I didn't know it was from Neptune, I'd have given it a 2/10. To my relief, the lobster roll was the total opposite. Succulent, juicy, heavenly. It was like being in Maine. The cioppino was also very good. The Johnnycake was an interesting but fun way to end the meal. It's a sweet pancake-like cornmeal covered in a syrupy glaze and topped with smoked bluefish paste, crème fraiche and caviar. I've never had anything like it. Nothing was super overpriced, but I personally prefer next door (Paulini's), which is much cheaper and while it isn't as good, it also doesn't require waiting in an hour in line. However, I think Neptune's is definitely worth a try as long as you're willing to wait in line.

We walked into a small, cozy dining room with a marble bar and a bustling atmosphere that creates the feeling of a classic neighborhood oyster bar, the kind of place where the energy of the room is as much a part of the experience as the food itself. Despite its popularity, the restaurant has built a reputation for serving some of the city's best oysters and lobster rolls, and the intimate setting adds to the sense of occasion. The seafood is the main reason to visit. The raw oyster selection changes regularly and includes a wide variety of East and West Coast oysters, with a menu that describes the flavor profile of each one to make choosing easier. We ordered a mix and found each oyster fresh and clean, with distinct brininess and texture that reflected the descriptions. The hot buttered lobster roll is the restaurant's signature dish, served overflowing with chunks of fresh lobster tossed in warm butter inside a toasted roll, and the richness of the butter paired perfectly with the sweetness of the meat. The traditional cold lobster roll with mayonnaise is equally popular if you prefer something lighter, and the clam chowder is another standout, with a creamy base and generous chunks of clam that made it one of the better versions we have had. The Johnnycake topped with oysters and smoked sturgeon is one of the restaurant's most unique dishes, combining textures and flavors in a way that felt distinct from the more classic options. Everything feels carefully prepared, with an emphasis on high-quality seafood rather than overly complicated flavors. The menu also includes fresh fish, shellfish, and daily specials, making it worth exploring beyond the restaurant's most famous items. Portions are generous, especially when it comes to the lobster dishes, though the prices reflect both the quality of the ingredients and the restaurant's popularity. The biggest thing to plan around is the wait. Neptune Oyster does not take reservations, and lines often begin forming well before opening. The restaurant is also quite small, so seating is limited and tables are close together. Visiting early in the day or dining as a smaller party can sometimes reduce the wait, but it is still worth expecting some time in line before being seated. Neptune Oyster remains one of Boston's essential seafood destinations. The fresh oysters, exceptional lobster roll, and intimate oyster bar atmosphere make it a memorable experience, even if getting a table requires some patience. If you are looking for classic New England seafood and do not mind waiting, it is easy to see why this restaurant has become one of the city's most iconic dining spots.

The lobster roll was exactly what you'd want.. warm, buttery, packed with lobster, and on a perfectly toasted bun. The crab toast was another winner and disappeared way too fast. My biggest complaint had nothing to do with the food though. There were fruit flies everywhere. They kept flying around our table and landing near the food throughout the meal. At a casual seafood shack I'd probably shrug it off, but at a restaurant charging these prices with this kind of upscale vibe, it felt pretty unacceptable and honestly took away from the experience. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would come back for the tinned fish platter alone, but I hope they get the bug problem under control.
