    Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll
    Sharon T.

Spectacular food, though not spectacular prices. We were lucky to stay nearby and our group couldn't decide on what to eat for lunch so I took full advantage of the opportunity to pitch Eventide's lobster rolls. And it damn worked. We all loved the food here. The raw oysters were so fresh and succulent that we decided to do another round. Our server, Chase, was very knowledgeable about the notes of most of the oysters and didn't pretend to know anything he wasn't sure of and called his manager for clarity, which was very much appreciated. I had the Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll, which, admittedly, I was surprised by its small size, but it ended up being just right. The lobster chunks were scrumptious and fresh, but $22 price tag was definitely very steep for a small roll that didn't come with a side. The value equation is the only reason I took a star away. I had the Roasted Banana Serve too, which was delicious ice cream and reminded me a lot of nice cream. The food is definitely nice but I wouldn't come here on an empty stomach and expect to leave full--unless I really wanted to.

A solid fast casual restaurant. The fish sandwich was good and the soft serve always hits the spot. Service is friendly and efficient. A little on the expensive side for this type of cuisine but not outrageous.

I really really like Eventide. We were at their Portland ME location a few years ago and the Fenway location continues the same quality. Although some might criticize the small size of the lobster rolls they are really crest and good. The clam chowder is not as thick as a lot of chowders but i like a thinner chowder. The oysters are fresh and tasty. The onion ice was a nice addition as well as their mignonette.

Super casual restaurant, it's not very big so I assume it will get busy during peak hours. I went for an early dinner around 5 so there were only a few people in there. I sat by the counter and got a pumpkin beer, it was rimmed with cinnamon, so good! I started with some oysters, they had a lot to pick from so I asked for the waitress recommendation, happy hour you basically get double the oysters! Comes with two toppings. For entree I go the lobster roll (it's not big but the flavors are amazing, bread is nice and soft. Loved it!). And the clam chowder, it's a different type, it's thin, but the flavors are also delicious! Overall I enjoyed my meal and if I was in town again I would come back!

While exploring Boston, we decided to stop at Eventide - Fenway for lunch. It is located in downtown Boston next to Fenway Park! This area reminds me a lot of San Francisco minus the homeless people and weird smells. We were greeted and seated right away and I liked how open the inside was with lots of natural lighting. We decided to split the Eventide Brown Butter Lobster Roll, Calamari and an order of Fries. We also ordered some drinks including the Oyster Shooters - Bloody Mary with Tequila. We really enjoyed our drinks and the Calamari and Fries (some of the best we had during this trip) - the Lobster Roll was actually better without the bread which I thought was weird, but it took away from the taste of the actual lobster. Overall, staff were friendly and attentive. The food was not the best we had in Boston, but it worked for a quick bite while we were sightseeing. Not sure I would be back, but check them out for yourself!

REALLY good oysters, wow it was super fresh. The place itself is like half bar half restaurant, so it's chill for a casual date or a hangout. The waiters themselves is amazing, they were so patients when I took my time to order, and they even helped me orders when I was confused. Overall, I recommend trying all 10 of the oysters kind alongside the cocktail sauces, super fresh and super juicy

Came in here to try the brown butter lobster roll and the clam chowder before leaving town for the day. I would def come back for the lobster roll. The clam chowder was different from what I'm used to but still good. I don't care for the cracker they give with the clam chowder. Kind of stale. Overall experience was good. The service was quick and attentive.

Had an awesome experience at Eventide in Fenway! The oyster bar offers a great selection of fresh, tasty oysters, and the drinks are fantastic. We tried the chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, lobster roll, and chowder--all flavorful and well-made. With direct views of Fenway Park, it's the perfect place to eat before a Red Sox game. Lively atmosphere, great food, and great location--highly recommend!

Had a late lunch on a Thursday and the staff was cleaning but very attentive to everyone that walked in. The lobster roll was delicious but on the smaller side so avoid if super hungry.

Went here to try their brown butter lobster roll and it was very good! The only negative is the portion is very small but definitely worth getting! I tried their Tangerine Sour mocktail and it was amazing. I would only get cocktails if they always tasted just as good as that one.

Good to stop in and grab quick bites last minute. Emphasis on the bites. They are small but flavorful. Wouldn't recommend for a full sit down meal. Fries and chicken bun were good. Would have loved a little more chicken. Service was simple and quick. Clean interior and very close to Fenway. Quiet inside.

Thought the lobster roll was alright. The lobster itself was great and flavored nicely. The roll was soft and didn't really do anything for the dish - I wish it was toasted or something. The clam chowder was a bit runny and had a weird after taste I can't really put my finger on. The inside is cute though and has plenty of seating. The food comes out relatively quick and the workers are nice.

Does this location have the gluten free lobster roll too?

Yes. Check out their website. Talks about GF roll on the menu.

If I went with a group of 8-10 people would we be able to find seating/a table all together (if we arrived right when they opened)?

Great question! It is open seating, and there are a couple large tables for 8-10 folks to reserve seating. I went in the early afternoon and there was plenty of space!

After a quick Yelp search, you find yourself looking at Neptune Oyster reviews. We ended up going from Fenway Park to Neptune Oyster by taking the train. When we arrived, we saw there was a substantial line. We ended up waiting about 1 hour and 20 minutes. They make you stand in line outside the restaurant and have signs that say, "Please don't block the other business entrances" and "Please stand behind this sign." Meanwhile, I'm thinking this is 2026 and Yelp must have some sort of online or phone number check-in system where they could text you once your table is ready. But I think, selfishly enough, the restaurant does this so other people walking by notice the line, and it acts as good advertisement for them. Anyhow, we decided to try the lobster roll with fries, six oysters, the bluefin tuna crudo, and their "clam chowder." Yes, I put "clam chowder" in quotes because it was more of a soup than a traditional chowder. I could have gotten past the texture, but it had no flavor and, unfortunately, we had to send it back, which I don't think I've ever done at a restaurant before. The oysters and tuna were pretty good, and I enjoyed them. The lobster roll was also decent, but nothing that I would rave about. Maybe that's my fault because, again, they are not a lobster roll restaurant. It says it right in their name that they're an oyster restaurant, so partially my fault. I was guided by Yelp when I searched for lobster rolls and thought maybe they were known for them due to all the pictures posted on their Yelp page. Overall, I think it's a little overrated and not worth the wait and the $130 bill.

The combination of it being limited seating (it holds less than 20 people) and being a popular spot makes it quite hard to get in without a long wait, so I would recommend right when it opens. Food wise, we got the Squid Ink Pasta and Calamari. The calamari was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside, which I find a lot of restaurants don't do a great job of doing. The squid ink pasta was also delicious and on par with any quality Italian restaurants in NYC. I would come back again if I'm ever in the Boston area and want a nice Italian restaurant. The lobster was well cooked. Ravioli was in a delicious sauce and had chunks of lobster on top which was a pleasant surprise. More food than I expected, but my home city is famous for the price of eating out so maybe my perception is skewed. Burrata and asparagus appetizer was simple and good as well. The asparagus was firm but not stringy and wasn't the star of the show, but paired well with the burrata, tangy cured tomato, and spread. For drinks we had the mango margarita and a first light. The margarita was a bit strong for my taste but better as the ice melted. First light was yummy. Nothing memorable for the price range. Bread was nothing to write home about, but warm and a good vehicle for tasty butter. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We had a very polite, thoughtful waiter. Being seated behind the host stand/entrance there was quite a bit of back and forth from staff and customers but we didn't mind much. Great soft pop rock music playing, like listening to my own playlist!

Taking a look at the menu, the lobster rolls were... pretty steep. We decided to share one and round it out with a few sides--clam chowder, potato salad, a jumbo crab cake, and 2 cans of soda. For everything we ordered, the total came out to around $90, which definitely made us pause for a moment. Overall, I'm glad we went this route of sharing a The lobster roll, while decent, didn't quite justify the ~$40 price tag for its size. It felt more like we were paying for the location and "Boston experience" than the flavor itself. All in all, it checked the "first lobster roll in Boston" box, but I was very happy we only ordered one to share. Sometimes the touristy spots are more about the experience than the wow factor--and this felt like one of those moments.
