Richard was awesome. He was busy, but he took a moment to find out if I needed something I could help me with quickly before moving on to other customers. As I walked in, I wasn't familiar with the location of the products and he directed me and showed me what they had in stock and said that they're starting to phase out the sort of things that I need but give me advice on how to get around that problem. Came in because I lost my phone and needed to get a new one activated with my SIM -- pretty urgent situation. Waited for almost two hours while staff walked around doing who knows what. By the time someone finally acknowledged me, they informed me they were closing soon and I'd have to come back another day. They hadn't even started looking into my account. No apology, no attempt to at least get the process started. Just showed me the door. Completely useless when it actually matters. read more

Worst service ever! almost two months waiting for the att technician to come install a new wifi service in zip code 94806. I contacted the manager of the store located at 94530 area, he keeps promising to find a tech to dispatch to my location, every time I contact him, but still waiting! According to Google, the only two options for my zip code are att and Xfinity, and for some silly reason both providers keep dragging the installation. I know for sure that hardware is not the issue, since I witnessed: 1. a fiber contractor replacing the fiber line run, from the street junction box to the house. 2. a cable company replacing RG6 cable, from street junction box to the house. ATT and Comcast Xfinity are the worst, for sure. Where is the option to give them -minus stars at? read more

The staff at this location is terribly rude and unhelpful. I have come in on multiple occasions and have been met with hostility on every visit. ATT messed up my lines and accidentally paid off a phone that I did not want to pay off, when I came in to get help the manager "CJ" assisted me and was condescending and sarcastic the whole time. He admitted ATT made a mistake, but kept explaining highly complex backend concepts and getting angry that I didn't immediately understand. AT&T absolutely SUCKS!! We have been trying to get them to help us resolve a problem with our new APPLE IPHONE for 4 days now (10+ hours) and still haven't been helped. They don't know anything at the store and keep calling for help while you sit there. Then, after 90 min. they give you a card to call customer service! They then try to sell you AT&T Fiber. Oh sure, we definitely would pay even more to them and turn our internet over to them?!!! Avoid avoid avoid!! Then we recd a bill with extra charges. So we feel completely ripped off. read more

Just went to a different AT&T store to validate what this AT&T store was telling me. This one told me that they could not replace my screen protector for some bullshit. I went to a different AT&T store and they said they could replace it. I don't need the replacement anymore because I called AT&T customer service and they're shipping me a new one. The manager straight lied to my face and the woman working there has the nastiest attitude. If you don't believe me, just look at their yelp score rating. I am so thankful for this place. I went here to get a phone for my elderly mom in November 2022. She had been an AT&T customer via her landline with the same phone number since 1972. The young woman who helped me was so understanding and did not try to sell me extra things, and really listened to what my needs were. I walked away with the perfect first cell phone for my mom, which allowed her to talk easily to her friends from her lonely new care home (she was bedridden and couldn't use her hands), and to talk to me every night, from her same old phone number. When I went back a few months later with my mom's phone and death certificate in hand, a different young woman helped me. She was equally understanding, helpful, and human. And the first young woman was there, and remembered me! She asked how the phone had worked for my mom, and gave me her sweet condolences. Ultimately, the staff (including the wonderful male supervisor) give me a less bureaucratic and salesey experience than I ever imagined at AT&T. Everything was resolved by the time I left from my last visit there, and I could tell that the process of closing the account was complicated for the AT&T staff. When I mentioned this to the supervisor, he said "This is not as complicated as what you're going through." Amazing service! I do not have AT&T for my own cell phone, and they did not try to talk me into it... but I am tempted if it means that I get to work with the people who work at this store. read more

I just had a great experience here. Christine who help me with my issue was amazing. I was really surprised. I think it's just her nature. There is always that one employee who does amazing customer support. Innate. She tried to fix my problem and not give up. Called some number on the phone since their system isn't working on my account. I was actually at Pinole. They told me to go to corporate store. So I went to Richmond. No help there. But they did try and not like Christine in El Cerrito Plaza location. I was really impressed. There were two issues. The second issue was the discount and I told here it's ok. I will do that later. Issue one was my main concern. She said she will fix both issue. Look her up. The one in Richmond is ok too in their defense. But just your typical average customer service. But the one in El Cerrito, Christine was on another level. She did cs above and beyond. Rare this days to see one. I got her business card. In short, she just knows her job really well. After going to multiple stores including Pinole AT&T, I was finally able to find a Retail Sales Consultant named Kristian who was able to solve my multiple technical issues including 1) updating from iPhone 11 to a 12, 2) transferring data, 3) and resetting an older iPhone 6 making important work data assessable which even the Comcast store was unable to do. read more

Went here to grab a dual quick charger and a lightning cord, I was there in and out, which was awesome! Staff was accommodating and extremely helpful. He did offer wifi plans for me but I didn't have time, so he was courteous enough to take the hint and wasn't pushy, which I really appreciate. The store is well-lit, organized: easy to find everything you need, check out was quick too! Since it was located in a plaza, parking could be a little bit challenging but that's everywhere anyway, so no worries about that. read more

If you live in the greater El Cerrito area, avoid ATT cell phone service at all costs. Everyone other cell company has been able to replace a Sims card in ~ 10 minutes. ATT during troubleshooting, destroyed the card. It then took 29 hours spread over 5 days of active caring to get them to fix it. They were not only incompetent but they disconnected from me on 3 different occasions, said they would call back, but lied. Therefore, I needed to repeat the same time intensive troubleshooting steps with each new person. Altho one person promised me that there would be some compensation for having to waste 29 hours (some of that was being on hold), that person disconnected me, and the next person offered me zero (0) compensation. In fairness, there is nothing wrong with the original pricing, the coverage or the phones, but this is totally beyond acceptable. read more

I had an appointment at 11am today 12/15/2021 and we did not get help until 11:40am. I will say Hoon was amazing when he came in to help us. We were frustrated and so was a gentleman whom was complaining to the manager while this other female agent chatted up the security guard instead of helping. Theyre clearly understaffed and have an agent more interested in the security guard then her job while other agents are working their butt off. I would give a zero star if I could. Im writing in regards to your employee Shekinah D. First of all I waited an hour in the wait line for them to tell me the phone I wanted was not in stock. When I got called in This employee was completely unprofessional, she gave me attitude a couple of times, the store didn't even have the phone I wanted so I agreed to buy the phone for delivery. She mixed up her wording and knowledge repeatedly and was not giving me straight up information. I tried to be patient but in the end I wanted to just stop the order and order it myself online. She bullied me into buying the phone with her telling me that it was already locked into my account. Then she proceeded to the payment where she didn't ask if I wanted to pay in full or in quotes. She chose monthly without my consent and then told me I couldn't change the option. In the end I didn't get what I wanted at all. She also swiped my card once and then asked for it again and took it to the back. I just wanted to know if that Is that normal protocol? I've never had that happen before at an ATT store. I feel played. Also I wanted to suggest that if people are going to wait an hour or more to get a phone at least ask what phone they want before they commit to waiting. read more

Nice people I was greeted right away. I made an appt online to speed the process and they were on point with that. Came in for an upgrade bc I'm about 50yrs overdue plus my current phone is literally falling apart. I was looking forward to an upgrade, however, I was advised by the gentleman to wait a few more months since Apple will be dropping brand new phones. I truly appreciate his honesty. Needless to say, someone else probably would've kept their mouth shut & went right along with giving me the soon to be old news iphone. He even attempted to fix my phone but some screws are either missing or broken.. he did manage to fix my home button which was not working at all before walking in there.. So thank you!! Very poor service at this store. I have been there three times. I have been having trouble with my AT&T cell phone service. The phone line was of little help and didn't solve the problem. First time I went in they put in a new sim card and said that it would solve all of the problems. It didn't. I went to apple and got the phone checked (hardware and software) and they said that the problem was not with the phone so it had to be the AT&T service. On my third time there when I told the person what was going on she said "It is not AT&T and there is nothing that we can do." read more

Christine was able to cut through the "red tape" and my inability to understand why my Internet service was about to be cut off, and did so patiently and professionally, even when she was put on hold by other AT&T entities in her relentless search for the cause and a solution. I'm 75 years old and far from tech savvy. Christine talked patiently and kindly with, not to, this frightened dinosaur, and I left the store almost an hour after I arrived knowing that my AT&T auto-pay Internet service is now secure. Being pretty reserved, I'm sorry that I wasn't able to articulate the full extent of my tremendous gratitude, not just for the help with my problem, but for the gracious and totally professional way she worked with me. I called to set up my internet, and they set up my activation date for one week later (even though I already had their modem delivered earlier). Following that, the power adapter sent was broken, and the modem wouldn't connect to their broadband. So they had to send another technician out a week later to install a new modem. Ridiculous, 2 weeks just to get internet, and they are the only provider in my apartment. read more

Very rude employees!! I came in the store and there were about 3 customers. I've never been to a AT&T store and I didn't know the requirements of purchasing a phone. As soon as I came in the store I wasn't greeted by anyone. The security guard looked like he was ready to clock out any minute. And the workers were all sitting down chatting it up. One male worker asked me "What would you like today" and I have bad eyesight so I looked at a middle aged lady because I thought it was her speaking because she was directly in front of him and she goes "I think he's talking to you not me" in a very rude/snarky way. I came into this El Cerrito location yesterday June 27th , because I have previously ordered phone 2 iPhone 11's online, but when they arrived they weren't what I expected. Long story short I brought my problem to BOBBY at AT&T In el Cerrito. He was very nice and welcoming ever since I walked in , took really good care of me along with SILVIA the manager in charge at that time . The security guard on duty was very, polite as well .I left with two brand new 11 pro max phones , a case , screen protector & charger . My friend and I went into this store yesterday to get a prepaid plan for their international travel in the US. We spent two hours there troubleshooting the activation because we had an incompetent and rude sales rep who completely messed it up. He activated the wrong plan and backed it out, which caused a funding problem on the account. He insisted that the problem was the phone we were trying to use. He acted as if we were inconveniencing him by being in the store and wanting to buy something from AT&T. He then blamed us for the 2 hours of work that was required, which we walked away from unresolved and furious. We had to call customer support and a manager the next day from the airport to resolve the issue. The issue was not the phone but the botched activation. Whatever you do, don't go into this store and get help from the rep named Alexander. Run the other way. read more
