Hi I'm Diane Fraser and I want to tell you about the unbelievable experience I had at this AT@T store on 298 E. 17th Street in Costa Mesa, CA...I was in a panic...my cell phone carrier had a nationwide outage...I had no phone, no text, no email...not ok...I went to this store looking for a prepaid phone... Mr. Adewunmi graciously greeted me right away and offered to help...I explained my situation..he ran to the back to find a prepaid phone for me...and came back to me on the floor with one...it was an android device from AT@T that came with a plan...I explained I only needed until my carrier identified the problem and fixed the outage...so he said I have an idea...he took my phone and did some incredible techie genius stuff and put a secondary line by AT@T on my phone so that during this outage or any outage of my carrier I could switch over to the secondary number and therefore have phone privileges, text, and email at the same time...This was all done for a small activation fee and a pre pay fee for 30 days...no contract had to be signed up for. Honestly...he solved my problem... and for much less the price...I am so happy and impressed...I want you all to know about this young gentleman...he's a technological genius as far as I'm concerned...Thank you so much for all you help Adewunmi!!! Funny how the AT&T store is closed at 8pm yet they can walk up to my door at 8:30pm when both my kids are sleeping. Stop coming by my house. The sales guys were rude assholes too. Hit me with the "you don't want to save money" ok fine then bye while my dogs are barking and kids are sleeping. You wouldn't have saved me money anyways. Gen Z has entered the workforce and this store is a perfect example of what that means! There is no professionalism or service here. The staff who helped me was nonchalant, mumbled and came off as just a miserable person. His body language and attitude screamed I don't give a sh** about this job or you. I had a great experience with Morgan at AT&T. She was very helpful and explained everything clearly so I could understand how to use everything. She helped me set up my WiFi and also offered me a good yearly deal with a discount which I really appreciated. She was very patient and kind even when I asked the same questions more than once. I truly felt supported and taken care of. Highly recommend her!!! read more

Great service and great staff! They will take care of everything for you, and that is not always the case at every AT&T store...unfortunately. I did try setting up an appointment online but this location didn't give me the option, so we just showed up. Having an appointment is always best, but there was no real wait to be seen as a walk in on a Sunday afternoon. BTW they close at 7pm on Sundays. We got checked in right away only waited 15 minutes to be seen. We needed to upgrade one of our phones on our plan, and they took care of doing the update on the new phone, which actually took a while, and then transferred everything from the old phone to the new phone. Normally this only takes 20 minutes, but since the new iPhone 15 came out, there has been a new update required. But we got it all done and enjoying the new iPhone, thanks to the staff. read more

She went above and beyond to help me (as did a few associates) sort out an issue with one of my phones and made what was has been a frustrating situation easy to bear. My family had an issue with fraud on our account. It required contacting multiple departments, a lot of time on hold, and keeping a lot of information straight. These elements could have been handled by other branches or people, but it cannot be overstated how helpful Javier (the manager) was during our ordeal. What really put his efforts in the next level was how much he advocated for us and understood how stuck we were. He dedicated a huge portion of his day to helping us and answered our questions kindly. Even when our questions were redundant and elementary, he responded with thoughtfulness and compassion. I came into the stoRe today to get a new phone old phone was stolen I have insurance so should've got a phone rite then & there instead I left with nothing because the service was terrible workers have no idea what they are doing. BE AWARE!! New customers be careful!!! I was switching from Verizon, got the new I phone which was dying within 6 hours. Supposedly the system had an "error", I was told it would be taken care of in 2 business days. Went back, waited almost 3 hours to be told they still can't do anything and to come back in 5 business days. As I called customer service 2 days later they said I should be able to order a new phone in the store. Went in and was told no it's still frozen and given a box with no lable to ship phone back cause they have another error. So basically they switched me back to my old phone. Sent me out the door with this being my problem! Also was told to go back to Verizon and will have less problems! By the manager Natalie. After strung along by the manager Jennifer who went on PTO saying she would pass the info along and didn't. Leaving the new manager to have no idea and said "I'm not sure what Jennifer does - she messes everything up" Tell me how as a new customer this is supposed to be professional!? Came in and was helped immediately by Hector. I told him that I wanted to get a new phone because I had an upgrade available. He informed me that they had a couple special deals coming up and that I would just need to wait a month or two for the specific date, and it would save me a tremendous amount of money. He was so kind and helpful. I was so grateful that thankful he told me about this deal rather than just trying to make more money off the next customer. A month or so passed and I came back in ready to make the switch. He sat with me for over an hour and gave me multiple tutorials and explanations about my phone/deals/plans/etc. His customer service was absolutely impeccable and I would 100% recommend coming back here again just because of him! read more

Tuesday, July 8th. Johan was awesome!! in seconds of entering the store he smiled and approached me and I think I just might be the happiest customer of all time. He was patient answering all of my questions and taking time to show a 75 year-old man how to manipulate my new iPhone. No condescension or eye rolling. He treated me like an equal. By The Way, I have had AT&T for the last 10 years. I tried all the others and never felt I got the service and quality that I wanted so instead of going after a cheap deal I decided to go for quality. I have AT&T's fiber optic coming into my home. We got the service when it first came out. We were lucky, here on the Eastside, we were one of the first people in Orange County to get fiber optic cable. My Wi-Fi is incredible and I haven't had it go down more than once in the last decade. I can start a call at home, go out to my car, drive to Los Angeles and not have any static or drop the call. I have done this dozens of times over the years. Now that I think about it, I've been with AT&T for over two decades and I couldn't be happier! read more

Micah and the manager of this store, Omid are actually remarkable. They care. I was in a stupid fix, courtesy of a technology mess at AT&T. I spent a day and a half in a state of flux and confusion, my old phone didn't work and my new phone was very pretty but non-functional. I spent HOURS on the phone with an almost entirely useless cast of employees at AT&T, most of whom really didn't care very much, some not at all, and one man who really tried but could not solve the problem. It took Micah and Omid over an hour of focussed attention to sort the problem out. I have never appreciated two guys more than these two. In my stress I went an ate a maple glazed bacon donut from the nearby cafe, so, even if you are in high stress at this location you can get comfort food, and by the time I'd come back from that they'd fixed my problem. read more

I need to give a huge shout out to the AT&T store, 17th Street, Costa Mesa location. First, the store is super clean, and has a very cool vibe. Welcoming employees! Store clearly focused on making customers feel comfortable and safe. Employees all wear masks, will offer you one kindly, if you happen to have forgotten one! There are bottles of hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, gloves available as well. Best employee ever, Steven!! He's knowledgeable, Incredibly patient, a dog lover too, happy to welcome in my dog Charlie. Don't hesitate to visit the store, especially if you have concerns about them following COVID guidelines. Oh and sound system was playing authentic Hawaiian music while I was there, which was kinda nice! So worth our business, ask for Steven! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Went in last week to check on the current iPhone trade in deal I received. Woman who "helped" me was extremely standoffish, and a complete jerk. *It was like dealing with Aubrey Plaza from Parks and Rec but not clever and not charming at all, just straight up annoyed that I was asking questions about the offer and which phones it was eligible for. After 5 mins of her attitude of "why are you asking questions just buy a phone" I just gave up and left. I went online, ordered my phone to the store a few days later, and then went in to pick it up. Out of all the employees, guess which one I get assigned... anyways, I tell her my name and that I ordered a phone to the store and I'm here to pick it up and get it set it up and switch the service over to unlimited as the deal stated for the trade in. Doesn't say anything, just gives attitude, goes in the back, comes out with an ATT bag. IS THIS YOU? huh? IS THIS YOU? Um, it's a bag, I can't see the receipt or a name on it, is my name on it?? Rolls her eyes, and we go over to set it up. She basically opens it, tosses it on the table and plugs it in and says get me when it's done updating and walks away. So 20-40 mins later, it gets done updating, and I grab her, she looks at it, says, no, only the first part is done updating, sets it back down, and walks away again. * Meanwhile there is an older guy next to me being helped that the another associate is convincing he needs a $40 screen protector and guarantee added to his phone (and you can tell the guy doesn't have a lot of money and he's already walking in to pay his bill in cash anyways) She comes back over, peels off my old screen protector and case, and tells me to delete my old phone. I tell her that i'm not deleting the old one until I see that everything transferred to the new one. Eye roll, annoyed, asks me again. I say the same thing. Phone gets done updating, attitude continues. Slides my phone to me, says ok. I then delete my old phone. I ask if I can have my old case back. Annoyed.. .What? I said, can I have it back? She has to go over to the garbage and dig it out. She says here. I then say that I have to switch my bill to unlimited since that is required for the deal. Eye roll again... super annoyed. Switches it over, gives me all the wrong amounts and I leave... and then.... I knew what she told me on the billing was wrong, so I go the HB store the next day to check on it. It's different than what she says and the guy there gives an attitude too, agrees with what I'm saying so I ask him to show me on the screen that it's right, he gives me the run around on it, says it's right, and I just leave. I get on online chat, they tell me exactly what I thought and gave me the correct numbers that neither of them gave me... and then... Immediatly the Phone battery is trash. loses 50% by early afternoon. I go back to this ATT store, tell the guy at the counter that the phone is 5 days old, and he immediately says it's not their problem, take it to Apple. Doesn't look at it, not suggestions, not a "let me see what we can do" just not their problem. I said I literally just got it here 5 days ago, he then instantly prints out some receipt paper and points to the small print and says it shows right here it's not our problem. If you want to return it you can within 14 days but there will be a restocking fee and looks at me all smug. (there was another guy standing next to him at the counter that was looking at him like, "dude, you're being a total dick") I storm out of there. My buddy works for the Apple store. I call him tell him what's up. He says she set it up wrong, software is jacking it up, it's 100% not a hardware issue. Head to the apple store. I make an appt, tell them what's going on, and they tell me exactly what my buddy said it probably was. They asked where I got it, I told them ATT Costa Mesa, and they said OH... I'm like, yeah, that place is a disaster, they said yeahhhhhhh (and nodded there head like, yup, we know) and said yeah, just come here next time instead. So 3x to this store to get attitude all 3x and a broken phone and incorrect billing and just told it wasn't there problem. Solution ended up being ATT online chat and a trip to the Apple store. I've had problems at this store before. They sold me an ipad, lied about the fees/costs, and a week later I call ATT and they said, oh yeah, that's not what he put in here, its $X instead. So I had to go back and return it (unopened) and they gave me the run around with restocking fees and bill credit bs instead of just refunding what I paid since the guy lied to me about the costs. They will literally say/do anything to upsell you stuff and not give you correct amounts things cost. When go back they're like, we didn't do that and it's not our problem anymore. Will never step foot in again. Right to Apple store for new phones and right to ATT online chat for billing. read more

I'm thinking about switching from cable to streaming and each time I've gone into the store with a question, they've been very helpful. Steven, the Mgr., printed out the streaming channel line up for me so I could compare it to the channels I'm getting now (he could've just told me to look it up online). My experience, whether I have questions or just need to pay my bill, is that everyone is friendly and considerate. Not even 1 star. I've been coming to this store for years. Never been super impressed with the service but nothing major. This time I was blatantly lied to. Purchased a iWatch and was having issues getting it to work with the new phone plan I purchased over the phone. I got frustrated so I came to speak to a real person. After 2 hours and having to go back twice I was told they couldn't help me. I asked the rep (young girl with dark wavey hair) to cancel my new phone plan since it would not work with the watch. She said it was taken care of. Absolutely not true. After seeing it still on my account and not getting a text or email saying this was done I called customer server AGAIN. No request was put in to cancel my new line. Thankfully I reached someone who was competent in their job and was not charged for the error. read more

Just wanted to let the store know they are always great help. Had a problem with my remote control for AT&T TV, call the store and talked to Aaron. They were really helpful saying come on in will get you switched out with another remote so I can get my TV fixed during this pandemic, where we have to stay home and make the best of it. I've always bought my products at this location due to the great service, friendliness and professionalism from this location. They did not let me down when I made the trek over to the location, they did exactly what they told me they would do it over the telephone. Called the store to thank them over the phone for solving my issue with my remote. Besides buying my AT&T TV service through this location, I purchased all of my iPhones from this Costa Mesa location. I will always keep coming back to this location. I recently went to AT&T to purchase a personal WIFI to replace one that was lost. I spoke with Dustin Martinez. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Although I came out with a new iPhone, I was able to upgrade my existing plan so that the hot spot was included and I didn't need to purchase the replacement device for $144. I was given credit for my old phone (iPhone 7) which reduced the price of the new (iPhone 11-pro) substantially and I saved the monthly fee for two personal WIFI devices. All four phones on my plan are now covered with free hot spots. Michelle L. read more

I've never been to a phone store where I would drive or fly because of the people and service. The AT&T Store on the corner of E 17th and Santa Anna in Costa Mesa has found a way to make each customer feel special. Micah, Missael, management, and the rest of the staff are legends. They take the time to learn more about their customers to understand their concerns better and come up with a solution. Not only that, but they still remember you weeks after visiting before.
