In all good conscience, we could never recommend Aslan Design and Renovation to anyone. We had several issues with Aslan; two issues in particular demonstrate their indifference towards us and the quality of their workmanship. Part of the project was the installation of hardware on new kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors. When the cabinet hardware was initially installed, the handles were misaligned and the cabinet doors were splintered. We brought this unsatisfactory workmanship to their attention and demanded that the damaged cabinet doors be replaced. The owner of Aslan concurred with our assessment that the work was indeed unacceptable and assured us that they would "make it right". Though we repeatedly brought up this issue with the project manager, our concerns were ignored. Finally, in the last week of the project, the project manager unilaterally announced that he would "make it right" by plugging holes created when hardware had been misaligned and by patching up splinters created when holes were drilled. We disagreed and had to fervently remind the project manager that we were paying for new cabinets with properly installed hardware, not doors with patched splinters and plugged holes. Under duress, they were held accountable for the substandard work and replaced all cabinet doors that had been marred. Aslan's indifference was once again displayed when it came time to finish the punch list items. There were several issues on our punch list which we brought to Aslan's attention. We gave them at least 3 opportunities to complete the list. When they failed to do so, we had to hire a different contactor to complete the contract. The new contractor did things right the first time. read more
