Our stamped concrete pool deck needed lots of love. Taber Builders (Tom) came out and assessed that the concrete needed a serious power washing and re-sealing. Also--we had damage to the concrete about the size of a football. Miguel came out to our house, repaired the rather large divot of concrete. After letting the divot dry and cure--Miguel was back to power washing the concrete. Miguel returned later that day to seal the concrete with a concrete sealant that left a beautiful sheen on the surface. Miguel did a beautiful job! Miguel was great to work with! In 2016 Tom Taber and his guys installed a patio for us. It was calling for rain. They decided to go ahead and pour anyways. It started to rain and they had to get plastic over it fast. Not fast enough though. It got rained on and now my patio has a lot of tiny pits. Every year I have new rock pops. It's been 7 years later and I've had many holes to fill. Tom says rock pops are normal. Its cheap cement I think. Stay away from this guy if he's not retired by now. He's got all the excuses! read more

We had an ancient backyard patio and sidewalk that needed to be completely redone. The crew was able to tear up the old concrete and haul it away in about a working day. The weather was very uncooperative, so it took a couple weeks before they were able to pour, but Tom's communication was very good despite the headache of "will the weather let us pour today?" A few minor issues arose: our internet cable was severed (Comcast was out the next day to fix it---very lucky to have an open appointment slot), and a hose reel was broken (we were reimbursed for the cost). I've seen a few people mention that the crew has occasionally been a bit messy and reckless, and I understand why they might have that complaint. However, the finished product is great if you can see past a few potential setbacks and a couple pieces of trash left behind. They were by far the most reasonable quote we received, and that's also after an upgraded mix, alternating brush strokes, and border. Highly recommended! read more

Taber Builders helped us to design and build a new stamped concrete backyard patio. This included removal of an existing concrete slab and some large shrubbery. We were very pleased with the estimation and design process as we tinkered with the layout a few times. The price was competitive with other bids that we received. During our project there was a concrete workers strike which delayed things a bit. This was out of their control, but Tom was great with keeping us apprised of the status and worked with us on scheduling the demolition and installation at a time that worked for everyone. We are very happy with how it all turned out and have received several compliments. Stamped concrete is a bit of an art project and our patio looks great. Since we posted this, Tom is now threatening to go to his attorney, saying that he's looking at his notes & he has no record of this. He stated that the price difference was because the amount of concrete that we needed when in fact, he told us the price increase was because the price of concrete had gone up due to a strike & we needed more due to the previous patio being wrong(previous contractors work, not his). Why didn't he buy the concrete when we gave him the 7k deposit if he knew there was a strike and the price might fluctuate? We have appropriate documentation to support our claims. You can only sue someone if what they're saying is false. Tom DID wait until our patio was completely demoed before telling us it was $3000 more, his workers DID throw crap everywhere as you can see from the pictures. I would've removed this review if Tom would've called & apologized about everything but now that he's threatening to go to his attorney and bullying us, I'll keep it up. read more

Tom just replied to my review SEVEN YEARS LATER, saying he doesn't know me and never did work for me. That's probably because after I signed the contract Tom never showed up again. Taber Builders came and poured a stamped concrete patio in our backyard. It came out amazing. Most of our neighbors have just regular concrete, this looks so much better. My one neighbor came over and said "Now you have the most beautiful patio on the street". Gotta love that! Tom (owner) and I did most our communication via email all the way up to scheduling the actual job days, which we did on the phone. The price was fair and the work is great so far. The did any shape you want for the deck and were helpful with any questions along the way. Out of all the people I contacted for the project, Taber got back probably the fastest and their quote was also the more reasonable. Email back and forth were timely and they were able to squeeze us in within a reasonable time (rain made it a little tricky, but it got done). People just need to realize that when you deal with a company who does many different projects, they have a lot of balls in the air sometimes and if something falls through somewhere else, they can sometimes fit you in. Other times weather and other factors may play into your plans and there is nothing that can be done about it. You just have to reschedule at a time that works for both schedules. read more

Although I can not base my review on work done. I can write a review on the horrible customer service I received. I contacted Taber Builders almost two weeks ago. After an initial time estimate, I told them I was unable to meet their estimated time. Not only did Tom Taber (or whoever it is that handles emails from Taber Builders on behalf of Tom) not contact me back to set up another time but he ignored the email I wrote afterwards apologizing for my inability to meet his time frame from the first email estimation. Given the fact I got one time estimation out of him seems to be a miracle at this point. If Tom wishes to rectify this situation, he need only contact me to set things right. I am not against a company earning back a customer's trust. read more

A large section of patio had cracked and sunk towards the foundation. Water collected at the foundation and in heavy rains found its way into the basement. Due to limited access, the patio had to be broken up by hand and the new concrete brought in by wheelbarrow. Tom Taber was great to work with.
