We talked, he shared the history of the company (30 yrs in business, I remember correctly) and reviewed what we were hoping to replace- he showed me what Shading Solutions could do- measured, twice, and we were on our way. The date he told me to anticipate our awnings should be delivered and one week before, contacted me to say we are on schedule! The awnings were delivered and we set a date for installation. The day before, Kurt Lamothe, the installer, came to look at the awnings and to check out the job site, impressive! Not waiting for 'day of ' - being proactive shows professionalism ~ so appreciated in this day! The installers show up, again, professional and friendly and EARLY! Again, I was impressed because as they're installing, Joe, my sales guy, shows up just to make sure all is going well and that I was satisfied. He even texted me after to say there is a windy storm rolling in so make sure to roll up the awnings as they were just installed. The guys picked up all the wrappings and left not one piece behind. Oh- and the price was fair, no hard sell or upsell. Will post pics later ~ but we are VERY satisfied to find a company and people who are professional and are great at their jobs! We have a very large raised 3 story trex deck with rotting cedar railings. Called numerous companies for a railing replacement and the majority would only consider new deck replacement and were not interested, even though this was a big job. We were replacing the cedar with aluminum railings. Dan came by numerous times over a period of months during the planning stages to get us exactly what we wanted for a fair price. He secured samples, talked about the options, was prompt, professional and helpful in all ways. He was quite busy and at one point we assumed that the job wouldn't be done until the early spring. We were fine with that as we didn't need the use of the deck during the winter. Low and behold, here comes Dan and Bill in December ready to start. Permits were secured and no matter the weather those guys were out there working. Before long the rotten cedar railing was replaced with aluminum and look absolutely wonderful. I'm glad that they used dirt to level the patio with the grass surrounding it. My only complaint is that once they began construction, it took 17 days to complete the entire project. I wasn't expecting it to take as long as it did, but they were working on other jobs at the same time. It wasn't a super big issue for us, but some communication about the timeline could have helped. The company took care of the permit process for us. They seem skilled in their work. I'm happy our patio turned out the way we wanted it to.

To say I shopped out the quoting process would be an understatement. Jeff's quote was very fair, easy to understand, and on the lower $ range due to not having the overhead of most other companies. In the end, I decided to go with Archwood for my project and I'm so glad I did. Unlike most other contractors who over quote and rush through the job to maximize profits, Jeff will take whatever time is needed to do the job right...period. Here is the thing that is pretty rare: he listens AND is patient. Any concerns I had along through the project as I'm anal when it comes to details and perfection and any changes I wanted to make during the project, he not only listened, but he made sure my concerns were completely addressed each and every instance. I can't speak highly enough of the character of this young man. In my case, he underbid my job with the time it took for him to complete this big project and because he went over and above on getting the job done right to my satisfaction, I gave him a 60% cash bonus because he flat out deserved it. The deck looks incredible.
