Deck Company just finished our porch rebuild (June 2021) and I wanted to provide my review. This was in no way solicited, and I didn't know the company prior to this project. Just sharing my feedback to help others! Background: We have a wrap around porch, and unfortunately it was built with wood more suited to indoors. After years of trying to maintain, we decided to redo with Trex. We called around and had 3 companies quote in Spring, and felt the most comfortable with Deck Company. We were a little nervous since they weren't a "big" company, but the owner seemed to really take an interest. They said they likely couldn't start until mid-July, and with an upcoming birthday party we were hopeful it would be sooner. The owner said he would try his best. They did better than that, coming in almost a month earlier than anticipated! The owner was in constant communication asking if certain dates would work, and we were happy to get it started early. They did demo on a Saturday, and started the following week. Every day of the project the team was here promptly at 6:50 am! It was a big project and they worked hard, and when it took a bit longer just for the final touches, the owner was very apologetic (our porch was still useable so it wasn't a huge deal) and came out himself to personally finish it up, and even came back a few hours later when we needed to add a longer board to block critters from crawling under. The final result looks nice. I was impressed with the work effort and communication, and care taken. I highly recommend. read more

How often can you write a review and say you are 100% happy and would not change a single thing? This is that review for Nate Hudon and Deck Company. Pictures are attached of our new Trex Spiced Rum deck with composite posts, signature railings, wedge and riser LED lighting. Nate impressed us from our first meeting. He is honest, knowledgeable and experienced. His communication was excellent. He listened to us and designed the deck we envisioned, down to the details of lighting placement and support post locations. Shawn and his construction crew were hard-working, talented, courteous, and friendly. Despite adverse weather conditions, they arrived everyday at 7am, worked all day and completed the project on time. The first day, alone, they completed the demo of the old deck, dug holes for the new support posts, had the village out to inspect, and poured concrete for the new supports! Amazing work ethic. We showed Shawn a picture of a support post design we liked and he made it happen! They repaired our brick patios around the new support posts and relocated a huge limestone stepping stone. The crew put down plywood to protect our lawn and boards to protect the driveway from the dumpster. The dumpster arrived the day they started and was removed the day they finished! The clean-up left our property spotless. They even power-washed the driveway. The village inspector had nothing but praise for Nate, Shawn, and Deck Company. Nate promised we would be happy and he was true to his word. Great people! Great company! read more

If I could give Nate, Shawn, Keith, and the rest of the Deck Company team 10 stars, I would! I highly recommend them! Our project was particularly complex because it was a very large 34"x 34 1/2" Trex deck completely surrounding a semi inground oval pool with extended pool stairs. There were many challenges along the way because of the pool, including strict safety requirements for the railing height and gates, as well as a ring of concrete around the base of the pool that had to be jackhammered through for a couple of the post holes! Nate was so positive the entire time. Every time an obstacle came up, while I was panicking, he would just smile and say "I've got this!". In the end the deck was finished ahead of schedule and passed all village inspections (including the pool safety requirements) on the first try. The end result exceeded our expectations, it's absolutely gorgeous. The attention to detail is amazing. Things like the trimming out of the lattice, the angle cuts on the deck railing, and the perfect coping of the decking around the pool and pool stairs really make it look fantastic. The whole team was courteous, and professional the entire time. Nate and Shawn were always happy to answer my questions (and I had a lot of them). They left our yard better than they found it, power washing our sidewalk and driveway to clear away mud that was mostly left from the pool install. I couldn't be happier with the work Nate and his crew did. From the design process to the final install, I was kept in the loop every step of the way. Not only did they start earlier than expected, I also couldn't have imagined it would have looked as good as it does! The crew came promptly at 7am and I don't think I ever seen them take a break. It was a 2-day job but after the first day, you couldn't even tell anyone was there. All the material and tools were neatly put away and everything was cleaned up even though they were coming back the next morning. The job was finished on time and more importantly, on budget, with no surprises! I even got quotes from 3 other contractors and the Deck Company was not only the cheapest but the highest rated. After the job was complete, Nate walked me through everything that was done and had the crew waiting to ensure I liked every little detail. Absolutely delighted with our beautiful new deck. Nate, Shaun, and crew were first class and their work is perfection! Without doubt we made the right decision. I spent a long, long time preparing for this investment, and actually got three quotes for composite, and one for wood. All three guys came out and were very professional but Nate was the only one for us. Pricing was very reasonable for this high quality product and just as importantly Nate really understood what we wanted. After deciding on Nate I needed to be 100% sure on the final look. Nate actually made another trip out to our house to drop off two Island mist sample planks and other colors to compare. That made it so much easier than those tiny samples you usually get. We went with the gray Island Mist and LOVE IT!. To sum up. Save time & money and get the deck done right by The Deck Company. Family business that treat you like family. They rock. We found Nate Hudon and Deck Co through the Trex website. We were looking for a synthetic product to replace a large wooden deck (732 sq feet). The decking material had become waterlogged and damaged after 20 years, simply painting over the top wasn't going to cut it anymore. The estimating process was smooth. Deck demo took a day, and then the build around 4 days. We were away for 4 of the 5 days at a family event on the West Coast, and had sufficient confidence in Deck Co to "get on with it" in our absence. We came back to a beautifully constructed new deck and clean work site. We look forward to many happy hours outside as soon as the rain and snow stops! I highly recommend Deck Co - they were neat, tidy and professional and produced a finished product of outstanding quality. We believe the investment we made in the deck will be more than paid back when we come to sell the house - but we hope to enjoy the product for many years before that! read more

Wow! Just wow! When i first got quoted by Deck Company Nate was very professional and didn't make me wait like a couple of other companys. Nate came out the next day and took care of me and my family. Over at the Deck Company they aren't trying to nickle and dime you. They wanna work within your budget and make the best product possible. My deck has turned out beautiful and exactly what I wanted. We had an exsisting pool and we worked with Nate to figure out what would work best. He didn't give me any BS. He got straight to business and told us what he thought. His workers were well mannered and very polite. They went above and beyond to make me and my wife happy. I'm extremely happy with the work and my wife just loves the deck. She has told all her friends about it. She was the hard one to please but Nate did it. Got her exactly what she wanted but did it at a price i could be happy with. We were lucky to find Deck Company in our search for a contractor to build our deck in 2021. Deck Company crew showed up, were thorough on outlining the project and setting expectations. When "build" day came, they said they'd be there at 7AM. At 6:40, they were carrying equipment and materials to my backyard. Not running saws, etc...they know the rules and they're respectful. But that quiet set up time is perfect for early morning. The entire project was great! Deck is beautiful. Deck Company is timely, polite, do great work, and have great communication. For what it's worth, you can also see how well they work together, as a team, and have fun doing it, too. Deck Company gets a AAA, A1, A+ rating from me. We found the Deck Company from online reviews. Our project consisted of replacing a 20-year-old two-level cedar deck with a TREX composite deck. From start to finish, Keith and Nate were very responsive to phone calls, texts, and emails. Keith made the design process easy and relatively painless. The project started and finished on time and on budget. Before beginning the tear-down, Nate verified the scope of the project, as well as color choices of the decking material. Our community in Naperville Ill is a townhome community completed 19 years ago with 61 resident homes. The HOA decided to replace all our decks from the current material { Cedar } and install new composite material {Trex }. The Deck Company was the most economic installer out of 4 other competitors and gave our HOA the best value with great recommendations from other customers. Deck company is by far the best company I have ever hired. My new Trex deck with pergola is totally awesome!! They are fast but don't skimp in any way. The workmanship is fantastic and they actually seem to enjoy the work they are doing. Nate and his crew were on time every day. They cleaned up so good you can't tell they were here, they even cleaned the new deck after construction. I had them install lights in all the post caps and it looks as good at night as it does in the daytime. Everybody that sees my new deck can't believe how great it looks. Dec. 2018; I cannot say enough about our experience with the Deck Company. First this is a family owned business and the brothers are excellent to work with. They went over and above in customer service. Nate and his TEAM were prompt everyday and really worked with us to ensure we were happy. The workmanship by his Team is excellent and beautiful. Excellent product and fair price! These guys really care about what they do. The whole experience was great from the quote to the finished product. Keith was very responsive (within a day) to all my emails and Nate and his crew were very receptive to the small deviations I had from the original plan. Nate respectfully offered great advice like increasing the depth of the steps and reducing the size of planters so that the deck would have a better aesthetic! At projects end, Nate was not satisfied so he returned to touch up the stone guys work! There were no hidden charges and the price was much better than a larger deck building company could offer. We used Deck Company to replace an old, rotting wood deck with a Trex deck. They were quick to respond and their price was very fair compared to the other places we had contacted. They were able to start work earlier than expected (I had guests coming and they managed to move us up on their schedule) and completed the deck within their stated timeframe. They kept everything neat and were very thorough. We had lights installed on the steps and posts, and they came back after they finished the deck to figure out why the lights wouldn't work (it was an issue with our electrical set up, had nothing to do with their work). This is the first review I have ever written of ANYTHING. The Deck Company is head and shoulders above any other contractor I have ever worked with. Extremely professional and easy to work with. We had a large 2nd level deck torn off and redone with Trex decking. The result was absolutely spectacular and everyone who has seen the deck loves it. We also had a storage space built below the deck and that came out great as well. Just last week I asked Nate to come and do some minor changes to the stairs that was somehow overlooked and it was done timely with no issues. I was one of the members of our home owners association committee to select a company to replace our wood decks. We, after much research decided on using Trex for the material. We then proceeded to contact several vendors to obtain bids. All the bids were well out of our budget; EXCEPT for the one from a family run business The Deck Company. Great work! The Deck Company has given us more living space and the best part is its outside. We wanted to add a pergola to provide shade on our patio. We contacted several firms and the guys from the Deck Company were prompt and professional. Given the proximity to the house they worked closely with us and our towns building inspector to get the design just right. The quality of work is outstanding. We've received so many compliments on our backyard in no small part because of our pergola. We enjoy it so much, there are days when we go outside for our morning coffee and come in when its time for bed. read more
