Eek! Methinks not. The project was managed extremely poorly - consistent theme here. The PM that was "assigned" had no real life experience with building anything - that includes lego homes. Each time an issue/challenge came up - either had to work with the owner or lie to me and tell me that they cant do that. There was a cost associated to every since change - some warranted - most not. It was difficult if not nearly impossible to get a schedule and/or requirements from them (when they needed certain materials, etc). The project went way over budget - some was expected as the home was originally built in 1906, however lack of planning and experience cause extra $$$ to leave my wallet. They took short cuts along the way and now I am left with a basement that leaks in the summer, un-insulated, frozen pipes in the winter - uneven flooring where the washer and drier is (they said they would fix that - never actually did). I got in contact with Dave and DAL Builders for a project I needed done at a business. I was putting in a 300 gallon aquarium, and it needed to be supported well as it being full is well over 3,000 lbs. A previous company had incorrectly built the support so it needed to be modified Dave was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. The work was prompt and professional. I was worried that the aquarium wouldn't able to be installed but Dave made sure that the support was strong and well put together. Since then, the aquarium is setup beautifully, and I have been in contact with them to help me with consulting, and other projects I have had. DAL rebuilt the deck on top of our garage and then also rebuilt the staircase leading up to the deck. They did excellent work, the quality of the craftsmanship was impressive. Their guys--especially Brian (outside contractor?), Sebastian, and Tim--were personable and very professional, and we appreciated their input and suggestions. We did have some delays in getting things finished, though most related to either weather or the manufacturers' (Azek) inability to ship product that was not warped; it took three shipments to get things straight. And as with so many construction projects, it ended up costing about twice what we anticipated. Otherwise we were very satisfied with the project and the end result. read more

They had no problem taking my $250.00 then sent me a letter stating that cannot give an accurate scope without plan with a range of $535k-635, for building purchased for under 80K. My project with DAL was horribly managed. As another reviewer experienced, the work was repeatedly rescheduled, and they ignored my calls/texts to find out the new schedule. Workers would just show up without notice, and I'd have to call in to work. Management was rude and ignored my questions. The work was shoddy. Tim was wonderful to deal with, and a great project manager. He was responsive, arrived at the times he said he would, and managed all of his crew from start to finish. After receiving a few different quotes for the replacement of our outside stairs and putting up of a fence, we decided to go with DAL Builders. Our Sales contact, Michael, was very helpful and always very quick to respond to our questions. Michael came to take a look at what we needed and we received the quotation via email within 1 or 2 business days. He was always super helpful and explained every step in the process. Once approved by our board and waiting for the rain to stop, they were at our house by 7am and finished in 2 business days! The process was very smooth! Project management was just poor. A 6 to 8 week project took 6 months and I had to get another contractor to come in to do finishing work. Granted I added 2.5 weeks of additional work, but 6 months? Now, they weren't working the whole time as they would leave to work on other jobs. The owner said he always made sure that his customers were happy, but after I pointed out problems several times to the "project manager" and lead carpenter, they didn't address and just packed up all their tools and moved to another job. The owner said he had multiple fabricators to pick from and could turn around a counter top quickly. The slabs were delivered to the fabricator the 1st week of November and the 1st week of January, I would be notified that it would be installed 2/19. They claimed that since I made a change to eliminate some of the stone the CADs had to be redone. I've worked with CADs, they just needed a couple of minutes to remove a page. Drywall that was installed and painted had to be cut open for plumbing work. There were many other problems, too many to mention here. However, they did do a good job with the kitchen floor and the subcontractor they used for tiling was good, although the owner didn't realize the marble tile needed to be sealed and didn't tell his sub. Finally, it was very expensive. Unfortunately, I can't recommend DAL Builders. read more

After my husband and I had kids we wanted to turn our basement into a playroom for them. However all that was down there was concrete and wood, hardly a good place for toddlers. I have worked with a lot of contractors and DAL is by far the WORST in terms of quality and communication. Tim took twice as long and cost twice as much as he had originally quoted. I know their procrastination and so called "delays" were the result of over booking contracts and subsequently not being able to work on a consistent basis. The workers were rude and never kept anything clean. I would highly recommend to NEVER hire DAL for any job, very unprofessional and not trustworthy. read more
