Quality Work Leads to Beautiful Results Skyline Metal Fabrication is the absolute best! We hired Skyline to replace our wooden backyard fences (fences that flank both sides of our property) with steel/wood privacy fences. The entire experience was handled very professionally. The process started with Ramiro, the owner and leader, visiting us to ask about/listen to what we wanted in a fence. Ramiro spent a fair amount of time with us to ensure full understanding of what the project would entail. Within a few days, Ramiro provided a fair estimate. Based on the reviews we read about his team's work and on our initial experience with Ramiro, we hired Skyline Metal Fabrication. Within a reasonable time frame (about 8 weeks in our case), Ramiro and the Skyline Metal Fabrication team was on site to start work. We found the entire crew to be friendly, considerate, conscientious, expedient, professional and hard-working. The team always accommodated our need to let our dog in the back yard to do her business without a hitch. They arrived on time and stayed until they completed what they needed to accomplish each day. They were also careful to clean up at the end of each day. Within five working days, our steel/wood privacy fence was complete. The work is of the highest quality, as the team focused on every detail, spending the time it took to ensure a beautiful result. We are particularly pleased with the excellent craftsmanship of the ornamental lattice work that tops our privacy fence. We can't recommend the Skyline team highly enough. We are extremely happy with their work. Anyone considering similar metalwork will be as well. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Ramiro and his team! Our gate and stairs were way overdue for restoration. We are completely blown away by the finished project. Pricing was fair. The job was finished quickly. Our neighbors are all jealous and looking to hire Skyline for their needs. Thanks again, Ramiro & team! read more

Skyline Metal Fabrication transformed our condo association's front entryway and gate better than we could have hoped. We originally brought them in to remove and replace the top steel plate on our stairway after a previous repair began showing rust almost immediately. Once on site, they discovered the underlying structure was more compromised than anyone realized and promptly explained that the only safe, long-term solution was to replace every metal step. Rather than leaving us with a patchwork fix, they seamlessly added the extra work--only extending the project by one day--and now the entire staircase looks and feels brand-new. When it came to our front gate--crooked, binding, and refusing to close--they didn't simply do the bare minimum outlined in our contract. Even though the scope called for a lighter touch, they took the time to reshape, realign, and reinforce it more extensively than we'd expected. And when the initial tweaks didn't fully resolve the issue, they returned without hesitation to ensure the gate now swings and latches perfectly. Throughout the process, their communication was clear, their recommendations honest, and their workmanship impeccable. Skyline Metal Fabrication went well above and beyond every expectation, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We highly recommend them for any structural or ornamental metal work--you won't be disappointed. read more

Ramiro and crew did a fabulous job on making and installing a metal handrail on the front porch of my Chicago bungalow. They also did a bonus by fixing the hinges and swing door to my gate on the fence. Personable, good quality and good value. Highly recommend! read more

I am extremely happy with the work that Ramiro and his group did. We had a challenging project - repair and reinforcement of a heavy iron railing around the periphery of our rooftop deck that was pulling out of the flashing. This was a challenging job because it involved cutting the railing into sections, getting it off our roof, taking it to his shop to weld extensions on, and bringing it back/installing welding on our roof, and repainting. Work was reasonably priced and very well done. I appreciated his philosophy of repairing what was broken (our railings were in good shape and of good quality) and not trying to sell me a whole new system. Also appreciate his ability to come up with creative solutions to do the repair. Will definitely hire him to do work in the future. read more

Their work is fantastic, attention to detail, take their time to get it right, creative problem solvers & all around pleasure to work with. True craftsmen. If I could give Ramiro and his team more than a five star review, I would. There is a reason that Skyline Metal Fabrication has so many five star reviews. Ramiro was extremely friendly and professional when I explained that I was interested in wrought iron gates for my home. He offered me several design options to choose from, as well as locking mechanisms available to me. All of which were priced fairly. Most importantly, Ramiro stayed in contact and he and his team completed the fabrication and installation in a timely fashion. The gates turned out beautiful and the pride in workmanship and craftsmanship is very apparent. Trust me, you won't be sorry choosing Skyline Metal Fabrication for your project. read more

I really can't say enough great things about Skyline. My husband and I bought a house with a pretty shoddy fence recently, so we knew we'd need to get an upgrade. We started by getting quotes from 3 different companies for a wrought iron fence, and during that brief process, Ramiro and Heather helped us out by patiently explaining our options, answering every possible question imaginable (and I ask a lot of questions...), so we went with Skyline Metal. And WOW I am so thrilled that we did. Ours was not a huge job, we had probably around 50-60 feet of fence & posts to put up, along with locking doors on the back & front. It probably took Ramiro and his crew of 3-4 guys 2.5 days total at our house between putting up the posts first and letting those set for a bit, and then welding the rest of the fence. The other companies we looked at offered pre-made fence, but ours were custom made - Ramiro had to do some extra measuring and such prior to fabrication. This is very beneficial because it ensures there is no warping and minimal shifting over time. The finished product is absolutely perfect. Our yard has the slightest of slants from back to front, but somehow the fence is perfectly level just as we had requested. I would recommend Ramiro and his crew to anyone. They were patient, so easy to work with, communicated well to ensure no surprises, and the finished product just looks flawless. It is exactly as we wanted. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company!! read more

Couldn't be happier with my experience with Ramiro! Very friendly and communicative throughout the whole process. Even with setbacks (Chicago weather), he was always in touch and kept us posted. Out outdoor railings were original to our home and were in desperate need of replacement as they were a safety hazard. Ramiro from Skyline Metal Fabrication came out to house and took measurements for the replacement railings. He also advised us that the height of our current railings were not up to code. He gave us a very competitive estimate. He worked with us on the design of the replacement railings and fabricated the new railings in his shop. His crew came and took down the current railings and installed the new railings in one day. They also took away the old railings. I even had Ramiro come back to add a design to the support railings and came back after they were ready and installed them before Christmas. Top notch business. I get so many compliments on my new railings even from strangers!! I highly recommend Ramiro and his team for your home project!!! Toni H read more

I'm a property manager and I work with plenty of contractors. It usually takes a while to find the good contractors and even longer to establish a good partnership. Ramiro was one of those very few contractors who was great right off the bat. I had an emergency security situation where I needed a broken alley gate fixed. The hinges rusted off and the very heavy steel framed wooden door was on the ground. I called around and while most steel welders didn't even return my call, Ramiro replied quickly and was willing to meet me early the next morning since he already had a full day scheduled elsewhere. He arrived with his welder, and not only did they rehang the door with new hinges, he added an extra hinge, sheared off the old hinges, realigned the door to close even better than it did before, and painted not only the hinges but the entire frame of the door. All this when most contractors would have done the bare minimum. And he charged a very reasonable price. All the work was done with a ton of pride and a smile. Ramiro is a great at what he does and can be trusted with your welding needs. I highly recommend him. read more

This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor (and I've had a lot of them do work on homes.). I called Ramiro; he called right back, came out the following day for an estimate (very kind man); I texted him the design I wanted. He had my 2 beautiful wrought iron bannisters done in 3 days and installed. I'm very, very happy with how they were installed, how they look, and just the whole experience. 5-Stars-Outstanding. Do not look any further than Skyline Metal Fabrication for your wrought iron fencing and fabrication needs. Fast and transparent estimates. Highly competitive pricing. High quality materials and craftsmanship. Convenient appointments. On-schedule work and completion. Rustproofing and painting. Responsive and highly professional. Customizable fabrication. New, repairs and replacement. Best-in-class hardware. Friendly ownership and crew. Clean and safe worksite. Extremely satisfied customer. The City of Chicago destroyed our wrought iron front gate and parkway fencing in a tree removal gone bad. Ramiro (owner) and his team provided us with a detailed estimate within days--and took photos and measurements in the cold and snow. The estimate crushed the others that we received by a mile in terms of pricing and schedule. Ramiro and his team scheduled the repairs to and replacement of our gate and fence (exact match) within days and completed everything within two weeks after fabricating the pieces in their shop. We were so pleased with the progress that we asked Ramiro and his team to install fencing along another section of our home. They completed both projects simultaneously including welding, post installation, rustproofing and paint. It is very refreshing to see a company excited about and proud of its craft. Skyline Metal Fabricating earned my business and will be my go-to for all future needs. Top notch start to finish. Extremely satisfied. read more

Ramiro is a real craftsman --and a total professional who goes above and beyond. He installed a metal railing on our newly constructed front steps and designed it to match photos of examples we liked--but he also suggested recommendations to improve on our ideas, and he built to match our gate which he also repaired. The work is beautiful. The day he came to re-install our gate , his earlier project had run long--but rather than put us off a day, he came after 6:00 p.m. and worked well into the evening to get it done. Highly recommend this company! read more

I'm surprised at the positive reviews here. Owner came out and took measurements, and said no hesitation 'I can do the job' took measurements and never heard from him again. I had to phone one week later for follow up; can you update me on our initial visit and a quote? Response; we don't have a metal supplier. Really, this is what your company advertises, you share photos of the exact work I'm in need of, a metal fabricator who can't provide a solution@? I could tell you didn't want the job, both at the initial meet and later phone call. Waste of time! Response from Heather who answers their calls: I'm sorry that another company gave you this treatment, but it was not our company. You must have intended to leave a review for another company. I absolutely do not have one message from tour profile. This response is what I expected. Funny how a negative yelp review has you say this is not our customer. You and I did speak, both phone conversation and text messages in May: 773-996-0696. You provided Ramiro's #773-531-4299. My initial conversation with you was nice, but fell completely flat after meeting with Ramiro. Stand by this review. read more

Needed to have a support beam added to an existing wrought iron gate to stabilize the opening. Sent photos to Ramiro so he could judge the work needed. He and his crew showed up on time, took the top ornaments off the existing vertical frame, ground down the old welds, added a crossbar, and painted the frame area. Requested that he add an additional strike plate for the deadbolt lock, which he did at no additional charge. Welds look solid. Good guy-would use him again. read more

It took me a while to make a review because of my busy schedule but wooowww I am 100% satisfied with the work that Ramiro and his team made in the fence. I bought this house as an investment property and the first thing that put was this fence. Literally Ramiro was in the phone with me thru all the process and he made sure that I was a satisfied customer which I am. This fence without exaggerating is the best in the block.
