The black paint is very smooth and professional looking, and the top stain came out nicely. Exactly the colors and look I was envisioning. They refaced/painted our cabinets, extended our island and added custom woodwork, replaced our countertops/sink/electric, etc. Our kitchen was completely transformed, and it was done in EIGHT DAYS. EIGHT! I have friends who did similar work at a similar price and waited months for an inferior product. I couldn't believe how efficient and professional the team was. Each day the team clearly communicated what time they would be arriving and what they planning to accomplish. One of their sons who spoke perfect English was always present, so there was never any confusion or miscommunication. I could go on and on, but I think it's easiest just to say HIRE THEM! I found them on Yelp and was skeptical simply because I didn't personally know anyone who had used them. Don't hesitate! One piece of advice is to triple-confirm you are in alignment on design/price/etc. This was my first remodel project and there were a few oversights on my part. Overall, A+++

Today my first visit to Henry Frerk & sons, was one of the best examples of genuinely friendly, extremely competent and efficient customer service that I had EVER experienced....from ANY type of supplier. Hands down, if you are looking for a great materials yard, particularly for all types of masonry or plaster work, do yourself a favor and make your masonry or plaster restoration project a WHOLE lot easier and better by going to see Elizabeth, Matt or one of the other great staff people there. Not only did Elizabeth seek out and carefully mix an extremely close match to my rare 90 year old grout, her knowledge of the "science" of mortar materials can be the difference between your masonry project last several years or multiple decades. Beyond the scientific expertise in coloration, application and adherence, Elizabeth provided detailed mixing and application instructions for my older lime-based mortar with additional and essential tips to achieve the best possible color and quality project. These instructions were invaluable to my tuckpointer who learned new tips as well from Elizabeth. She also requested the home address so they could keep a record of the grout color should a future owner need to match mortar in the future. What other supplier have you dealt with that would provide this kind of all-around, amazing service? In the world of big-box hardware stores where you can't find a salesperson, much less a knowledgeable expert, it's no surprise that this family-owned business have been in business since 1888. Yeah, that's not a typo. On top of all this, based upon other reviews apparently their prices are very competitive as well. Usually achieving two of the three pillars of a great business transaction (quality, price and service) is typically the best achievable outcome. It is extremely rare to get all three as you do here. Enuf said. Just go there and experience true customer service and value that is SO rare in today's hurried retail climate.

I have lived at my condo about a block away and for the last 30 years and for the last 15 years of my mother's life she lived with me as she was handicapped and used a wheelchair. Well, the spot where my friend placed the bench was exactly where I would wheel her out for the fireworks every Wednesday and sometimes on Saturday. Well, because it is a beautiful bench and had a plaque with my Mom's name it is used quite often and sometimes people do not respect the bench and so it was wearing down and I needed to have it sanded and retained.... I talked with friends and searched the internet quite thoroughly and found Chicago Wood Refinishing. I saw the website and the work that they displayed and decided to give them a chance and met with Kevin....actually, Kevin came to me at the site of the bench and surveyed the bench's condition and told me what they would be able to do to restore the bench to its original condition. Kevin came out a second time and removed the bench planks and took them back to their business offices, where he and his father did a phenomenal job in bringing the color and quality of the bench back to its first day it was displayed to me in July 2024. Kevin and his dad are fine craftsmen when it comes to wood....any kind of wood. Now my Mom's bench is back in use for those who want a place to sit and think....or to watch the fireworks on Wednesday and sometimes, Saturday night. If you do, you will not only see the quality work they performed, but you just might meet me...watching the fireworks with my Mom. Thank you Kevin and father at Chicago Wood Refinishing. The quality, craftsmanship and professionalism is the greatest I have ever seen. My husband has been a custom home builder in Morristown NJ for over 40 years and builds high end homes and has done hundreds of kitchens and this hood we bought from CMH is by far the nicest one we have ever seen. Alex & Bill made the entire process effortless. They were extremely accommodating and very generous with their time and patience. They are people pleasers and go above and beyond for their customers like me. I could not have been happier with my choice. Finding a company like this is close to impossible. I was scared to buy something in another state but I really hit the jackpot with choosing them. This hood is a masterpiece and is the focal point in my kitchen. They delivered the hood in a wooden crate and just seeing what it was shipped in made me realize that they were professionals. We took their advice and purchased the blower from whom they recommended and that process was just as seamless. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING US SO HAPPY. There is NO other company to use, TRUST ME. This video link below shows the quality of product that CMH delivers to customers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kk5lypynJPs We spoke with CMH when we were looking to get a stainless steel dining table made. We wanted a 36" x 48" table with 1¾" square legs. They said their standard square leg is 3", but after checking on the possibility of a 1¾" square leg, said that they could do 1 1/2" square legs. We agreed to that. The quote looked good to us, we made full payment, and approved the shop drawings for fabrication. When we received the table, we were dismayed to find that it has a serious problem - the table sways with very little sideways pressure. Just using a knife to cut food on a dinner plate caused significant swaying. We contacted CMH, explained the problem, and asked for a refund. They replied that the swaying was due to the fact that we were "adamant" about using smaller legs. (They had never mentioned any concerns about table stability when we were discussing the design of the table. If they had done so we would not have gone ahead with the order. There were two iterations of quotes and three iterations of shop drawings, with no mention of any issues or problems.) They offered us two options: Option 1: Send the table back for the engineers to "take a look at it" and "try and figure out a solution". Given that: - The shop drawings were either not checked, or negligently checked, by their engineers; - They went ahead and shipped out a table which they realized had a stability problem; - They won't be able to stabilize the table without impacting the design - we would get a different table from what we were looking for; and - They blamed us for the problem; we did not want to further engage with a company that demonstrated that level of incompetence and irresponsibility. Option 2: Return the table, which involves a 25% restocking fee, and return shipping is our responsibility. This option would involve us losing about $1,000. We let CMH know that this defective table resulted from their internal failures (in engineering design, and quality control checks prior to shipping), and that we therefore should not have to bear any costs for the return. We suggested working together on a satisfactory resolution to the problem. CMH, up to this point so prompt with email replies, failed to respond and went dark. We are left with a table we cannot use, still in need of a dining table, and are out nearly $2,000. CMH claims to deliver high quality work and great service, but failed massively on both counts.
