We had them come out a couple years ago to replace the mailbox housing on our condo association front gate/fence, and the previously leaky mailboxes are dry and secure ever since. Today we noticed that our gate had 2 hinges rusted through - they sent over a quote promptly and even came out the same day! They not only added new hinges, but also removed and cleaned up the old hinges that had been previously left behind, primed and painted, tightened the latch, and installed a new closer. Welds on Wheels worked with our condo association to remove and then reattach an exterior landing so that we could redo our garage roof. They were very communicative and flexible when the weather caused a delay in part of our project. They also communicated about additional costs that would be needed when the project grew beyond what was anticipated. Probably would be five stars for everything but we did not see their work! In fact, they could not help us with the issue we had - it could not be welded. They were very responsive! They helped us figure out what to do- next steps and because they are quite busy now are going to let us know when they can come to our home to weld some other smaller projects we have, that aren't so urgent! Our building recently used Welds on Wheels to mount our mailbox into our iron fence after another provider messed up the installation. This review is way overdue!! I had a pot rack that needed to be hung but the problem was the beam I wanted to affix it to was on an angle. I sent a photo of my dilemma and Kandy texted me back with a quote for a custom bracket. Jerry came by and was able to assess what needed to be done and explain to me how he was going to execute it. He asked for the hook to match color and work it into the bracket. He came back with the custom bracket and wow, didn't think it was possible, but he made it happen. Been needing to get my front fence repainted for awhile and the gates realigned for a couple of years now. Finally got around to it given the pandemic and these guys were able to do it all for me! While it may have been cheaper to just bid out the painting and alignment separately, to get it all done in one go was worth it to me. I finally have a gate that closes easily without me having to slam it shut. Plus it no longer looks like a rusted, sun faded mess of a fence. We had a great experience with Welds on Wheels. They did excellent work in a timely manner, for a reasonable price, and the customer service was extremely professional and always responsive. We looked for many months for a company to fix the side gate in our bungalow, which was crooked because the ground had settled after some underground work was done. The sagging had cause the door to not be able to open properly, and for years, we could not even use it. We tried contacting other companies but we had terrible luck with all other companies we contacted. But one day I saw the Welds on Wheels crew working on a neighbor's gate, and I approached them and asked for information. They gave me their card and referred me to Kandy for a quote and scheduling. Within a day, we received a call, and within another day, a visit from Kandy and an estimate. We scheduled the work, they came and did the work when they said they would, and it was done so well I could not believe it. It looked like nothing was ever wrong, and our gate looks and works great. I contacted Welds on Wheels to weld the door to my front gate after it fell off. The customer service was great and the work I requested was done promptly, efficiently, and was reasonably priced. However, I am leaving a two star review due to the work that was done that I DID NOT request and DID NOT want. In short, the previous owner installed a cheap $20-$25 dollar lock upside down. The welders decided to correct it (i.e., take it off, turn it the appropriate way, and add two new screws ) without contacting me for approval. I was called after this was completed and was charged an additional $80, again for something I DID NOT request. Update 3/27- Changing my review form 2 to 4 stars after the 'Welds on Wheels' corrected the charge. read more

I just need an iron latch to be re-welded onto my gate, as it fell off. Unfortunately when I called Welds on Wheels, they told me they have a minimum of $220 per project. They don't really advertise that, so I figured I would advertise it for them! =) If you have a 15 minute job, these are NOT the people to call. Heck, they wouldn't even take down my information in case they were going to be nearby my house and could just swing by if they were around within the next few weeks. On Saturday our fence was damage and the front metal bar was cracked on the top and bottom (see pics), and I thought it would be least a week before we got it repaired. Needed 2 iron railings repaired on our rear cement steps. The posts had rusted through. Called up WoW and was able to take pictures and send them in. A reasonable quote followed. We scheduled a date but received a call a week early saying they had a window and could they come early. Excellent welding and cement work. My partners and I own a rental property on the near west side of Chicago and, every day, without fail, it's nearly impossible to find honest, hardworking service providers. Everyone is trying to scam you, people never show up when they say they will, and the work often has to be redone. It was SUCH A RELIEF to find Jerry. His office was ALWAYS RESPONSIVE, they were EXTREMELY ACCOMODATING, and the work was of SUPERIOR QUALITY. He charged me MUCH LESS than he could have and SIGNIFICANTLY LESS than the competition. Most importantly, he EDUCATED ME throughout the process so that I know how to better maintain my building in the future. We had Jerry basically rebuild and treat an entire metal stairwell at the front of the building, and I am SOOOOOO GLAD that I did.
