Gabriel got back to us the same day with a quote after we sent him photos of the steps. He was very responsive and made three trips out to deal with the project. The first was to take detailed measurements of our stairs. The second was a fit up of the uncoated railing where he took final dimensions and cored the mounting holes and the third was to actually install the rails after powder coating. For the record and before I begin, I'm not one to dole out 5-star recommendations and rarely, if ever, do. My wife and I live in an older home in Evanston, IL and there was wrought iron fencing as well as decorative iron fixtures on the house itself that needed professional attention. We initially hired Gabriel to repair a broken weld on one of the fences and he did a nice job. Gabriel was polite, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Later that year we then hired Gabriel to restore the entire iron fence (grinding and painting) as well as restore an iron fence (grinding and painting) located on our second-floor balcony above the front door to our home. The balcony fence on the second floor was in such poor condition that in order to properly restore it, Gabriel informed us he would have to remove it and restore it at his shop. At first, we were thinking this would be cost-prohibitive and perhaps not worth it but we agreed once Gabriel told us how much it would cost. Gabriel performed excellent work on both projects. His pricing was competitive and fair. He performed the work he said he would, on time, and exceeded our expectations. He restored both fences to "like-new condition" and close to (IMHO) what each must have looked like when installed almost 100 years ago! Finally, and perhaps most impressive, is this. We hired Gabrial to fabricate a custom made curved iron fence, about knee-high and about 50 feet long to run along the curve or our driveway. It was this work that really impressed us and demonstrated that Gabriel is a true artisan, a creative fabricator, and craftsman.
