Last year I contacted every company advertising deck refinishing in all the NW suburban area home shoppers and mailers. One quoted an outrageous price, two quoted half the figure, and two promised to come out for a quote and never showed up. All had a number of poor reviews of their work on line. I held off getting the work done. This spring I contacted Pro Coat. Dave Marion quoted a fair price for the job, and warned me that he couldn't guarantee the old botched finish could be completely removed. He said his crew would test a small area and only if they could satisfactorily clean it, would they do my entire deck. His men arrived within the time frame Dave had estimated, the test cleaning worked perfectly, and within the day my deck was stripped, brightened and looking like new. A few days later Pro Coat was back and the deck was stained in an afternoon. Great care was taken to cover the side of the house next to the deck so no over-spray could get on the siding or brickwork. The yard was left immaculately clean. Alfredo did a great job of evenly and thoroughly applying the new stain to the inside and outside of the deck, despite the surrounding hedge making it difficult. My deck now looks like new, and the results were far better than I thought could possibly be achieved. Any future work I need will be done by Pro Coat, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. read more

Pro Coat - Before and after cleaning. Not stained yet, but looking great! - Decks & Railing Near Me

Can't say enough good things about Dave and his team. Dave came out to personally inspect the deck, size and condition and his team visited at least 3x to remove and replace a handful of rotting planks, color match our existing color to what they'd apply and then power wash and seal it. He spent time with me on a call explaining the two types of sealant and left me feeling far more informed about the work they were doing than anyone else who's previously done similar work. They moved all the furniture on and off for us and made it a smooth and easy process. Would highly recommend and will use them again when the deck requires re-sealing. Wish all home contractors were as easy going, responsible and timely. Thanks Dave! read more

Pro Coat - Decks & Railing Near Me

We recently bought a house which had what we thought was a gray wood deck. It looked like it was in pretty bad shape - direly in need of replacement. We also have a playset that we inherited from previous owners which was starting to crack in a few places. A friend suggested we try to have them stained and sealed instead of replacement so we called a few companies. Pro Coat was not the cheapest but it was the best-reviewed and the most responsive. I also felt that Dave from Pro Coat was open and honest with me about expectations. They found a way to get the work done quickly while working around a very very rainy end-of-summer/early-fall period. We are so thrilled with the job and we highly, highly recommend Pro Coat! read more

Dave and his team are true professionals and I would highly recommend using Pro Coat for any job! Our deck turned out great and was well worth the wait to have them do the job. read more

We used Pro Coat twice to power wash, stain and seal our cedar fence front and back. The second time they did our fence was even better than the first. Pro Coat made my fence look brand new and returned my fence which had started to turn gray in parts to the beautiful color of natural cedar. Dave is a true professional and his crew did a wonderful job without having to be monitored by me. The crew was supposed to do my neighbors gate as well in that it was in the quoted price. They missed it when doing the power washing. I called Dave and they came out the next day and took care of it. On the day they did the staining and sealing, the job was done right the first time and I have nothing but great things to say about Pro Coat, Inc. I went with Pro-Coat 5 years ago and when it was time to re-do my fence I didn't hesitate to call Pro-Coat, Inc. again. A friend of mine had his fence done by another company, while it looked good, it didn't look spectacular. I guess you get what you pay for with Pro-Coat. read more

I was referred to Pro Coat by a friend several years ago and continue to use Pro Coat today. They are true professionals and do great work at cleaning and sealing our large deck while being very careful with the landscaping around the deck. It's so nice to work with a company that is both responsible and reliable. I highly recommend Pro Coat! read more

Has provided great service and product to all my fencing customers. Cannot recommend this company more. Top notch from start to finish!

Pro coat came out to give me an estimate. They were the third company to come out. Prices were roughly the same but Pro Coat could put me on the books sooner rather than waiting over 6 months. Came out and finished in two days. Fence looks great read more

We used Pro Coat to power wash seal our approximately 300 foot cedar fence front and back. Dave is very professional and definitely knows his business well. He suggested the different types of stains and sealers we could use to get the best wear over the years. His knowledgeable advice is what made us most comfortable using Pro Coat. When the guys came to do the fence with the power washer we could not believe the before and after. Wow! Unbelievable. There was no way we could have gotten our fence this clean ourselves. It was like a brand new cedar fence. Alfredo (the crew leader who, btw, is also very knowledgeable) suggested a sealer with a bit of color in it and we could not be happier with his suggestion. The fence looks marvelous and we highly recommend Pro Coat if you're looking for someone to power wash/seal your fence or decks! Thank you for a great job and honest service! read more

We hired ProCoat to paint our two story home in Arlington Heights recently and to power wash and stain our wood patio deck. They did an excellent job in all respects. We were told clearly how they planned to handle the work, the start date and the price we would pay, which was very reasonable. We're very happy with the results. Dave Marion gave us good advice on color selection and repeatedly asked us for feedback as the project progressed. Every minor concern or upgrade we mentioned was handled immediately. The painting crew, Alfredo and Gustavo, in addition to being very good painters, were courteous and friendly too. They took great care to protect our property, covering the ground and shrubbery with dropcloths. The house and deck look great. We would highly recommend ProCoat and would gladly use their services again. Mark & Marianne Arlington Heights, IL read more

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Dave! I could not be happier. The guys did an amazing job. Our older deck has new life. We used to re-stain it ourselves but we are getting older and it is just too difficult for us now. The power wash is usually a huge mess with all the flakes all over. They cleaned everything. And the stain job was beautiful. What a great group of guys. Even the gal who answered the phones in the office was nice. I am so happy I had this done and I would use Pro Coat again no doubt! Great business to deal with. Thank you. (Yes, I am sooo happy!) read more

Pro Coat....Dave and his " guys" are the Nordstrom of deck care. He knows all there is to know about decks, stains, colors and cleaners . we have a beautiful yard with much loved plants and trees surrounding the deck and my concern was that working on the deck would destroy these.... Not to worry with Pro Coat everything was covered...the house siding...all windows...all plants and grassy areas shielded.... the end result is beyond our expectations ..our deck is marvelous...the flowers and trees untouched.... thank you Dave and Alfedo See you next spring... Dave Marion came to our home and gave me an estimate. His estimate was within reason. I am glad I went with Pro Coat. The job was perfect. Our new fence looks wonderful with the stain. Also Dave explained everything that was going to occur. I had a question after the job was completed and he returned my call within 24 hours. He answered my question and was very kind. I would certainly use Pro Coat again and refer Pro Coat to others. Thank you Dave for a job well done and your attention to detail. read more

Dave's company just did our deck and it looks amazing. His crew did a good job from power washing, staining and sealing. They are very professional and polite. I quoted 4 company's for this project and his prices are in the middle and the deciding factor was the good reviews I read here. We will definitely use them again. read more

Dave was great to work with. They did an excellent job cleaning and staining our old deck. Very professional and great to deal with. Highly recommended. read more

We have a 25 year old deck. These guys are pros. We've had our deck done by other companies before but never as professionally as these guys. Not a spec of stain on our siding that butts right up to the deck. They hammered in some nails that were sticking up and even fixed lattice that was loose and a loose post top. I will never use anyone else again. What a pleasure to finally find a company that takes care of their customers and delivers what they promise. read more

Pro Coat, Inc - Is by far the best deck finishers I have ever seen. The employees are true professionals - prompt, polite and clean. I will never use another company to treat my deck. If Pro Coat is busy and you have to wait - then wait. They are worth waiting for. Our deck is made of IPE wood - a type of brazilian walnut. Dave - owner Pro Coat advised me how to treat and care for our deck - it was my lucky day when I phoned Pro Coat. Our deck now looks better than the day it was installed! We are not related - simply a very, very satisfied customer. read more

Contacted Dave Marion before I left on vacation to see if he could clean and stain my deck before I had company on a certain date. He had serviced my deck a couple of times before and I was always happy with his work. He called me back on my cell while I was away and explained that he was booked out very far, but went out of his way to squeeze me in while I was away. I got back from vacation to a beautiful new-looking deck just in time for my company to arrive. Thanks for your great customer service and wonderful work. See you in a year or two again Dave!!! read more

I concur with all the previous reviews. We decided to go with Pro Coat after seeing the job they did on our neighbor's fence. Our fence was five years old and almost completely silvered out. After the power wash and stain, it's like a brand new fence. Dave and his crew are courteous, friendly and great to work with. read more
