Last year I contacted every company advertising deck refinishing in all the NW suburban area home shoppers and mailers. One quoted an outrageous price, two quoted half the figure, and two promised to come out for a quote and never showed up. All had a number of poor reviews of their work on line. I held off getting the work done. This spring I contacted Pro Coat. Dave Marion quoted a fair price for the job, and warned me that he couldn't guarantee the old botched finish could be completely removed. He said his crew would test a small area and only if they could satisfactorily clean it, would they do my entire deck. His men arrived within the time frame Dave had estimated, the test cleaning worked perfectly, and within the day my deck was stripped, brightened and looking like new. A few days later Pro Coat was back and the deck was stained in an afternoon. Great care was taken to cover the side of the house next to the deck so no over-spray could get on the siding or brickwork. The yard was left immaculately clean. Alfredo did a great job of evenly and thoroughly applying the new stain to the inside and outside of the deck, despite the surrounding hedge making it difficult. My deck now looks like new, and the results were far better than I thought could possibly be achieved. Any future work I need will be done by Pro Coat, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone. read more

Can't say enough good things about Dave and his team. Dave came out to personally inspect the deck, size and condition and his team visited at least 3x to remove and replace a handful of rotting planks, color match our existing color to what they'd apply and then power wash and seal it. He spent time with me on a call explaining the two types of sealant and left me feeling far more informed about the work they were doing than anyone else who's previously done similar work. They moved all the furniture on and off for us and made it a smooth and easy process. Would highly recommend and will use them again when the deck requires re-sealing. We used Pro Coat twice to power wash, stain and seal our cedar fence front and back. The second time they did our fence was even better than the first. Pro Coat made my fence look brand new and returned my fence which had started to turn gray in parts to the beautiful color of natural cedar. We used Pro Coat to power wash seal our approximately 300 foot cedar fence front and back. Dave is very professional and definitely knows his business well. He suggested the different types of stains and sealers we could use to get the best wear over the years. His knowledgeable advice is what made us most comfortable using Pro Coat. When the guys came to do the fence with the power washer we could not believe the before and after. Wow! Unbelievable. There was no way we could have gotten our fence this clean ourselves. It was like a brand new cedar fence. Alfredo (the crew leader who, btw, is also very knowledgeable) suggested a sealer with a bit of color in it and we could not be happier with his suggestion. We hired ProCoat to paint our two story home in Arlington Heights recently and to power wash and stain our wood patio deck. They did an excellent job in all respects. We were told clearly how they planned to handle the work, the start date and the price we would pay, which was very reasonable. We're very happy with the results. Dave Marion gave us good advice on color selection and repeatedly asked us for feedback as the project progressed. Every minor concern or upgrade we mentioned was handled immediately. Pro Coat....Dave and his " guys" are the Nordstrom of deck care. He knows all there is to know about decks, stains, colors and cleaners . we have a beautiful yard with much loved plants and trees surrounding the deck and my concern was that working on the deck would destroy these.... We have a 25 year old deck. These guys are pros. We've had our deck done by other companies before but never as professionally as these guys. Not a spec of stain on our siding that butts right up to the deck. They hammered in some nails that were sticking up and even fixed lattice that was loose and a loose post top. Pro Coat, Inc - Is by far the best deck finishers I have ever seen. The employees are true professionals - prompt, polite and clean. I will never use another company to treat my deck.
