We have contracted AB Masonry for a few different jobs in our condo building and the work has been excellent every time. The crew arrive on time, work hard and are incredibly polite, considerate and clean. They even took away some debris from a roof job a few weeks ago that they didn't cause. Marcin has been a pleasure to work with, always reliable, friendly, on time and honest. There are a lot of rogue companies out there but this one maintains your trust that there are good ones. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will likely work with them again. read more

We finally decided to get full tuckpointing done on our 80 year old red brick 2 car garage. After a few bids, it became apparent that the cost is greatly varied, so we went with the most affordable option. The crew kept to the originally proposed scope and schedule despite constant bad weather updates, and the work was finished on time and on budget without compromising on keeping the job site very neat and being very considerate to our neighbors. We really appreciated the friendly and detailed communication style along the way, one of the best customer service examples in this industry! The overall outcome was acceptable and we're looking forward to many future projects with this company. So yes, we would hire them again! Thank you! read more

The owner Marcin does not keep appointments, and he does not return phone calls. Unprofessional and wastes your time. Too many great choices to deal with this caliber of person. read more

They did an amazing job tuckpointing an interior brick wall of mine. Friendly. Cleaned up dust very well. Competitively priced. They didn't take any shortcuts, using a grinder to clear out every joint. Would certainly hire again! read more

Can't say enough good things about Marcin and his crew. Very friendly, professional and quick communication. We had some tuck pointing and water proofing on our building. Crew worked hard, cleaned up after themselves and the final product was perfect with no complaints or issues! Wish the best to AB Masonry and will definitely be using them in the future for HOA jobs and personal. If only all contractor companies were of this caliber. read more

This is the second time Marcin and AB Masonry have worked on my home. They provide competitive quotes, perform the work on time, and clean up as soon as they're done. I plan on using them again for any future jobs I need, and highly recommend them for their masonry work. read more

We originally enjoyed working with Marcin and gave him a high rating. He refreshed and repaired our cement stairs for one of my 3-flat buildings, and said the work should last for 3-5 years; however, after one season much of the cement peeled off. He came back gratis to repair the work, but then after another season it again began cracking and peeling. When he came a third time, the job was rushed and unsatisfactory: he didn't tell anyone he had come, didn't put up signage or a barrier, and we had tenants walking on wet steps. When we told him, he refused to come back to correct the work and made threats if we posted a negative review on yelp. Now we have to pay someone else to come and fix his oversight. He was previously a great pleasure to work with, very conscientious and accommodating, but something is going wrong with his work, and his ultimate response is unprofessional. read more

After speaking with a representative at this company, we were very excited for our consultation. The representative told us to text him our contact and property information as well as the time and date of the agreed upon appointment, as a reminder for rep. No one showed for our appointment nor reached out to reschedule or cancel. We contacted company a few days later and they read the message and did not respond. Not very good customer service on their part. We will look for another company. read more

Marcin and his crew did a great job fixing my floor of my house and painted the hall Thank you guys I couldn't be more happier with this awesome job. Thank you!! read more

Marcin and his team were fabulous! Our chimney was in desperate need of repairs...new cap as well as bricks & mortar. He gave us a very fair quote and had the job finished within a couple weeks, as scheduled. (The weather wasn't cooperating so pushed back just a bit.) They were very professional, courteous and left the area spotlessly clean...they even replaced the hardware for my hose reel (gratis) since they saw it was in need. We will be bringing Marcin and team back to fix our cracked concrete front walk. Highly recommended. Sue & Dave Elmhurst, IL read more

AB Masonry has helped us with several projects over the last year or so since we moved into our new home. Marcin's team has worked for us on a tuckpointing/sealing job, re-roofing our garage and rebuilding the deck, putting up an absolutely fantastic roofed pergola, replacing some glass block window vents, and (in a few months) putting much larger windows into a brick wall. The quotes consistently came in on the lower side, and the work has all been solid. They handle all the materials of course, though they've been very accommodating in working with materials that we provided on occasion. They can handle most types of work, and they've done both small and large jobs for us. We can only vouch for their work on exteriors, but they do interior work as well. One of the reasons we initially chose to work with them is that Marcin is really responsive if you contact him, which has been a huge problem for us in the past when dealing with repairs or renovation. A lot of companies, including some of the ones with 5 stars, either never responded to our initial requests or took ages to respond to our follow-up request. The crews have also been very polite and clean up after themselves. My wife is often the one who meets up with the workers when they arrive, and they've always been friendly and appropriate with her. The overall quality of the work has been excellent, and we've had very little to complain about. But even more importantly, the very few times we've noticed issues, they fixed them without any fuss or extra charge. Knowing that the job will get done right without having to fight over it has been one of the best things about working with them. They're our go-to guys at this point, and it's been a relief to finally have contractors we can trust to do good work without having to pay out the nose for it. read more

Marcin came out to my multi unit building to evaluate for tuckpointing and sealing. He was very timely and provided permanent solutions to our water issues (stone coping instead of removing bricks to install flashing). The work was done quickly and looks great. I will definitely be working with AB Masonry again. I highly recommend their services and expertise for your masonry needs!! read more

Marcin was great, responsive and easy to work with. Our condo needed the front entrance concrete replaced - I requested a quote on Yelp, got a reply within hours, Marcin came out to see it within days and we settled on a quote within a week via texts and emails. I would give 10 stars if I could! Marcin was so professional, communicative and knowledgeable with a large masonry project for our HOA. He even wrapped up all the work ahead of schedule! It was such a pleasure to work with Marcin and will definitely keep him on my short list of top contractors. Marcin returned my inquiry quickly, scheduled an appointment to come out and review the job. He was prompt and very knowledgeable. Advised me that he was very busy but would have a quote sent to me within a week. That was over 4 weeks ago. I have sent several emails and text messages. No response. If you weren't interested in the job or you have more work than you can handle all you have to do is let me know that you aren't interested. Extremely disappointed based on the previous reviews. read more

AB masonry put a glass block window into an incredibly dark room for me and I couldn't be happier with the results or their professionalism. Marcin was a pleasure to deal with, very responsive, punctual, efficient, and fair with pricing based on the top notch quality of his work. It was a messy job cutting through a 100 year old brick wall, but Marcin and team put up plastic barriers and cleaned before they left. The whole area they worked in was spotless and ready to put furniture back in. They even expertly repainted and wiped down all the walls and floors. I highly recommend AB masonry and Marcin for all your masonry and interior renovation needs. They can do it all! read more

After a few estimates we went with Marcin at AB Masonry. I would definitely recommend this company to others. We had a few jobs for the building. First, we had our building split block sealed with fleshing work to take care of leaks. Second, we had our back stairway welded and repainted due to missing areas and rust. The stairs look brand new, which changed the entire look of the back area. All of the work was done quickly and they were reliable. We are happy with your results. The team showed up on time and were diligent to complete the job. Marcin is easy to work with, great communication and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this company and plan to use them for future building work/repairs. read more

I've been a real estate broker and developer for almost 20 years, and I'm very self-aware that I have SUPER high standards when it comes to service, responsiveness, price and quality of work. Marcin and his highly talented crew met my expectations and beyond. Again, in full disclosure, I'm known to micro-manage projects when I don't fully trust that the contractor and his or her employees are keeping track of the details and being sure that quality remains a priority over speed. I didn't have to sweat the details with Marcin, John and his painting crew. They knocked it out of the park and built an absolutely beautiful porch for me. I lost count of the compliments I got from my discerning neighbors! I will recommend AB Masonry to my clients with full confidence every time. Matter of fact, I asked Marcin to send his skillful masonry team to an upcoming listing of mine a couple of blocks from my house the day after they finished my porch. They did an equally high quality job there! Oh yeah, and a clean job site at the end of each day, which is a huge deal. My client thanked me profusely today for recommending AB Masonry. Bricks, carpentry, painting, you name it - they're the best! read more

Marcin and his team did a great job. My condo associated hired him to repair and repaint the iron stairs in the back of our 3 story building. They look brand new. He also sealed/waterproofed our cinder block exterior, along with replacing some damaged lintel which was allowing water damage to our interior. Very professional and responsive to text, call and email. After our building project I actually individually contracted him to replace my living room windows. His quote on those as a couple grand cheaper than other companies that specialized solely in windows. Competitive pricing, excellent service. Will hire again for future home projects. read more

Best contractor i ever hired. On time, professional and you can really tell he knows what he is doing. Not only he finished my basement in the time frame he promissed but he also stayed withing our budget and was able to save me some money with his professional advice on the project. I will definitely be hiring Marcin in the future! What i also liked about him is that he was able to answer all my questions and always gave me advice with a smile. It was simply a pleasure to work with him. (Professional, on time, quality of work exceeded my expectations, kind/friendly) read more

Marcin was great to work with. He came out to quote re-pouring the piers in our basement, removing old steel poles from our backyard, sealing around the exterior of the house and pouring a slab of concrete in the backyard. I'll definitely consider him for our next job. read more

I had a really good experience working with Marcin and his crew. He always responded quickly and kept me updated about the work. I reached out to Marcin to get a quote on a small concrete removal project and he was very kind, responsive and helpful. It turned out that he was in the neighborhood for another project, so he was able to swing by to give me a quick quote, and get the project done all within an hour! Him and his team did great work, and cleaned up after they finished. Marcin was also able to make some prudent recommendations for other masonry projects that I've been interested in doing around the house. I will likely be following-up with him and his team when I am ready to get some of those other larger projects done. Thanks! read more

I called to get a quote on a small project. The person on the phone (didn't catch the name) was pleasant. He told me a time and day that he could come by, but asked me to text him that appointment time along with my address (I think because he was driving). I did that immediately. He never showed up, never called. I sent him a text asking if he was still coming and didn't get a response. I'm very tolerant of mistakes. If he had told me that he had forgotten to record the appt and apologized, I would certainly have given him another chance. Moving on to competitors. read more

Marcin and the AB Masonry were did a fantastic job! I was very happy with the work they did to seal cracks on our concrete patio, replace a large number of cracked brick, and tuck pointing. It's hard to find contractors that are reliable, show up on time, and can communicate well. These guys did it all. I felt like Marcin and his team were always on the same page as me in terms of the work that needed to be done. He listened to my needs and delivered. Job site was clean when they were done too. Marcin is GREAT! We recently purchased a house that needed some masonry work on some of the exposed brick near the foundation. We solicited a few quotes and decided to go with AB Masonry. Marcin and team were very fair with their pricing and incredibly responsive to any messages. When he came out for the quote, Marcin walked us through everything that needed to be done. Once the work was scheduled, they were prompt and finished in the 3 days they stated it would take. The job required less bricks than anticipated to finish the work, so they even fixed a part that was out of the quote free of charge.
