We just renovated our small bathroom with ALS and are so pleased with the results. We got quotes from 3 companies and definitely felt like we got the best value for money with ALS. Lukasz and his crew did a masterful job of renovating the first floor apartment of our old late 1880's two-flat. The scope included remodeling a kitchen and two bathrooms, gutting and re-drywalling the main bedroom, as well as re-painting and adding molding/baseboards in our living/dining room. The project turned out beautifully and we could not be happier. From the start Lukasz was very upfront about costs and time. He was easy to talk to and get project updates from throughout the process. Even though we didn't have official design drawings we had a rough vision of what we wanted and he was able to executive it. I found ALS to be very dependable, hard-working, and accommodating. I hired Lukasz and his team to take on an unusual project - to build an elaborate treehouse that was 10 feet of the ground. I didn't realize how skilled and experienced they were at building houses, which allowed them to build this thing better than I could have ever imagined (check out the photos!). Their pricing is very reasonable - he shows you the receipts for anything bought at the hardware store, and you pay for that without markup. And the pricing for labor is transparent. I can be picky about the details, and I found Lukasz was very accommodating to my specific needs. The only thing that was difficult was finding time in ALS's schedule to work on my project. I hired them at the peak season, when everybody else was also getting projects done. He communicated very clearly on the pricing, which was very fair, and the plan of work for each day. We had a different contractor that was terrible to work with. A 6 week (their estimate) project was not complete after 3 months. ALS Remodeling tore out the small amount of shower work that was done by the previous contractor. And they redid it with the proper materials. They completed the outstanding work in 2 weeks. When some fixtures were delayed, they continued with other work and worked non-stop while they were here. It is so refreshing to work with a hard-working and honest group of people. On the last day, Lukas said he would follow up in a few weeks to if there are any issues. We couldn't have been more pleased of the multiple jobs Lukasz and his team has done in our home! They are absolute true craftsmen and just the best at their work. We found Lukasz to be extremely responsive starting with him getting us the quote for our project just the next day and very responsive throughout our remodeling period which we really appreciated. They are willing to do the work as long as you don't get the permit from the city you live in. In which to me is a red flag to begin with. The purpose of getting a permit is to protect the home owner and be up to code and make sure the job is done right. The fact that they never called back after I said I will need a permit after their quote in which I agreed to, speaks volumes. I wouldn't recommend, do your homework before you hire anyone who works in this matter. read more
