We needed to redo our back yard, which was complicated because we had a dry stream with pebbles along the bottom and a short bridge whose wood had deteriorated. Dante's replaced the rotten wood in the bridge and fixed it up and redid the pebbles in the stream by hand. Then he created a beautiful design with mostly native plants around the whole area. They completely cleared out the bushes and small trees in front of the house and then removed the stone stairs and sidewalk. My turn to write a glowing review of Dante and his crew. I contacted four contractors for bids to build a steel pergola, including matching planters on my roof and to extend the finished area about 100 square feet. And, well, in the end I obviously chose Dante. Price was reasonable, comparable to two of the other estimates, but I really appreciated Dante's enthusiasm and willingness to work with me even when I was still making design decisions. I live on a third floor walkup, and getting the materials to my roof was no easy feat, and the care taken by the crew to not damage the walls, stairs, and also be respectful of neighbors really confirmed that I'd made the right decision. Weather was not our friend through most of the construction process, but Dante kept me apprised of status throughout. He was also very accommodating of changes and requests from beginning to end, even those not part of the original proposal or scope of work. There have been many expletives uttered when I invite guests over, especially those who frequented the space when it was just decking and some furniture. You can see the dramatic before and after photos for yourself. I've already utilized the area to host and enjoy myself more this year than any year before and we're just getting started! Very frustrating experience just trying to get this landscaper to come out for a quote. I reached out on 5/20 requesting someone to come out and quote us for a French drain solution, Bush removal and possibly some regrading. Got a response from Dante, the owner 3 days later. Not a big deal, because it's not an emergency. I give him our information and he indicated that he would give us a call Monday (5/25) and let us know when he's in the area. Monday comes and goes, with no phone call or contact of any kind. I reach out the following morning on 5/26 and ask him if he's still interested in giving us a quote (I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because Monday was a holiday, maybe he didn't realize it). Dante responds back later that night indicating that he would need to come out and see in order to provide a quote. I responded that I was aware that he needed to come out and asked why he neglected to come out or call to re-schedule the day prior. He responds back with an apology and tells me that he will call back today after 11AM and let me know when he's in the area. 3 hours go by, it's about 2PM now and still no phone call or contact of any kind. I send him another note asking if he's still coming out today. Crickets..... Update: Got a response with a sincere apology and someone finally came out to assess our drainage situation. The guy was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will update again once we get the quote and if we proceed with the work. read more
